Our family eats here about 3 times a month. We love the side orders (taters in place of !), the ribs and the burgers.

This is a nice and comfortable place to eat at with good entertainment. The bbq is OK but far from amazing. The sides are the same way. It's a good spot to hit up if you're in the area and craving some bbq. read more

This place is inconsistent in quality. Their ribs can be either really well prepared or hard and drenched with BBQ sauce. It is a toss up. I come here b/c I don't know where else locally to get my fix of ribs. Their side dishes are not great either. The toast and salad sides are soggy and bland. read more

I love this place! I come here almost weekly seeing as I work in the Waterford shopping center. And every time I come in the staff is always more than helpful and the service is exceptional. I usually order the turkey avocado stack which normally comes on sourdough bread, which I cant stand. So I normally order it on their Texas Toast which is great! And every now and then the cooks mess up the order and leave it on the sourdough but every time that happens the staff is more than happy to fix it for me. And since I am in there so often they know to check my order before they hand it to me making sure its correct. And it is that quality service that has me coming back regularly. read more

I don't know where to start with this place. This place has gotten awful over the past few months. When I arrived the manager took my order an average white older man with glasses and it took forever to get my order in! He kept talking to me forever about god knows what I tuned him out after a few minutes wondering when he was going to stop and doesn't he have other orders to take? The other cashier basically was by herself since this guy kept talking on and on. After that I sat down got my food after a few minutes and noticed the manager was now putting the orders out ad he was taking a very long time on putting out just one order while another worker was whipping through them like lightening she was amazing! Clearly this manager hasn't a clue on what fast paced environment means or seems to care. Those poor cashiers are with a clueless manager who doesn't know what he's doing!!! We wanted to try Armadillo Willy because we have a gift card. It was quite disappointing. We got there a little after 6pm Wednesday night, they have already sold out their CERTIFIED PRIME ANGUS BRISKET which is supposed to be their signature dish. This is the beginning of the dinner business hour! We ordered small plates and the menu read they each comes with one side, but you have to pay for the side. We ordered fountain drinks, one of the machine was out of order. The food was so so, we used a lot of sauce to dress up the meats. The manager was friendly and visited all the customers in the restaraunt. We probably will not go back. read more

If you like to get BBQ just like you get in Texas or in the South and Southwest this is not the place to go. The Ribs and Chicken are over cooked or dried out. As if they were rushed to cook, not the long slow cooking you get in the South or Southwest.BBQ cooking is an Art ,you just don't put on the grill.it requires slow cooking something this place just misses.....Fuddrockers is better The fries are dried out The Potato Salad does not taste well,more from a factory than freshly made You would be better of getting a book from Barnes and Nobles on grilling than eat here...maybe even trying to cook on hot coals directly as suggested recently,,,but do yourself a favor. went there last weekend with a friend, we thought we were underserve a portion, my friend email and inquired about the portion size. He got a snide remark about it is not a buffet. Unprofessional, he may be wealthy and have many stores, my first and last time. The food can entice you to visit, but the services and attitude of management will not make me come back. options are limited when i want to have some good food in dublin thats open after 9pm on a weekday. i had a craving for bbq and andre s. recommended armadillo willys. totally has the impression of a fast food joint. its a pretty big place with many tables. you place your order and pay at the counter. i thought the food was pretty pricey for the quality. they give you a buzzer to tell you when your orders ready and seat yourself. your order comes on plates on a tray. drinks are from the fountain soda machine and utensils are self serve. as for the food, it was okay. i had the sweet willies wet ribs plate with 2 sides. ribs were dry and i could taste the tomato paste in their bbq sauce that came on the side. as for the sides, i chose the spicy peanut slaw and potato salad. the spicy peanut slaw was just coleslaw with peanuts in it, no spiciness whatsoever. potato salad was average. andre s had the tritip plate with a side of cornbread. tritip was also dry, though the cornbread was pretty good. it came with cinnamon butter, but i was not a fan of that though. both of our plates came with texas toast, which were thick slices of white toast spread with butter and garlic. probably considered good if you love mcdonalds and such, but armadillo willys is not for me. read more

For chain BBQ this place isn't that bad. The sauce isn't mind blowing but its satisfactory. I went with a bunch of fatties and we ordered all 3 big rib plates. So we sampled every rib they sell. The baby backs were my least favorite. The wet ribs were nice and meaty. The skinny fatty ate them all. One of these days I am going to try the all you can ribs on Monday night. I've had this a few times now for company lunches. (I have no idea what it costs, so that plays no role in my review.) Chicken was fine, even though I'm not really into BBQ chicken, but the cornbread and baked beans are great. And the coleslaw is AMAZING. Well actually, I doubt you can really call is coleslaw in the traditional sense. Yes it is mostly cabbage, but this one is more like a Southwest salad. It has peanuts, and cilantro, and a dressing with a little bit of a kick. So good. read more

I think this place is pretty good. The food is pretty messy so it might not be a good idea to take the small ones if in case you would need to grab them suddenly with bbq sauce all over your fingertips. I looove ribs so I always order a rack all for myself. read more

This place is expensive and everything I tried was dry. We had brisket and baby back ribs and it tasted like it was just sitting under a heating lamp. The sides weren't anything spectacular. I went here around 3:30 ish one day when I got off work early. My experience was actually a good one. I was very surprised.. There were only a couple people there but it was an all in all nice experience. I have no clue for what it would be like around dinner time... I have gotten takeout from here twice. Both times were delicious. This time I ordered the Smokehouse BBQ Melt and OMG, it was terrific!! You get a choice of meat that you want on it. I chose pulled pork. You also get to chose between original or jalapeno bbq sauces. I chose original. It is served on grilled Texas toast and has Monterey Jack cheese on it along with their double smoked bacon. They usually serve it with onions, but I don't eat onions so I ordered it without. The meat serving on it was generous. I got extra sauce to put on it. They have a self-serve sauce area where they keep the sauces warm. I will definitely order this sandwich again - probably the next time I go because it was so good. read more

The baby back ribs are succulent! I would eat them every day if I could afford them. They are a bit costly, but worth it every now and then. I hate they changed the menu and removed the onion rings. I'm glad they still have the bacon burger. I wish they would give more for your money or lower the prices, but their meat is good. read more

For quick, friendly service and tasty BBQ, we like this place. I'm surprised it is not busier. The texas ribs are some of the best I've had in the area. Very meaty and tasty. The salads are good here too. Although the fries are a little too salty for my taste, otherwise, I have not had anything here (salads, ribs, pulled pork, tri tip, brisket) that I've been disappointed with. Service is quick and friendly. Its one of those counter service joints rather than having waiters and waitresses for each table. They do good family meals too for large parties. The BBQ sauces are excellent too. Very tasty, regardless of the spice level you choose. I think the BBQ sauces are the best in the tri-valley area, which is surprising given that it is a local Bay-area chain. One down side is that I think they reduced their portion sizes in the last couple of years. They used to be more generous than they are now. Also I'm a little disappointed that they moved the baja fish tacos off the regular menu. They still have them, but only on Wednesday nights as a special. Otherwise, though its a family friendly place and great, quick food. read more

My family and I have been to Armadillo Willy's BBQ in San Jose and Foster City before. It's been a while, so we checked out the one in Dublin close to our place. The restaurant is always busy when we pass by. We came here for dinner, and I had the small plate of baby back ribs with a side of fresh-cut fries. The ribs were juicy and flavorful and loved the BBQ sauce, but they only served 3 pieces of ribs. The fries were extremely salty, so I returned them and got a green salad instead. They were okay with the exchange and didn't put up a fuss. My hubby got the baby back ribs & chicken combo plate with 2 sides. We enjoyed the BBQ ribs and flavor, but the prices were high for the amount of food we had ate - we paid around $30. Maybe next time, we'll try the BBQ family pack to go which you get more for your money - full slab of ribs, 2 sides: coleslaw, beans, corn salad, potato salad or green salad and corn muffins at $32. I've eaten at this location multiple times over the years, but today was the last. I was very disappointed in the quality. Service was good, but the price vs quality not good. Today's visit, the ribs were not prepared with the rub, no smoke flavor (from the smoking process) and ribs were served with a slathering of BBQ sauce. Ribs were fully cooked, but didn't fall off the bone. They had the appearance and texture of being prepared in an oven. In years past, the ribs were prepared with the rub, smoked (you can smell the smoke for blocks) and could be served with/without sauce for a $3 bucks cheaper. Not sure why they raised the price, dropped the quality, but I will not be returning anytime soon. Sorry Armadillo Wilily's, you've changed and lost a customer. read more

I was in this place on 8-25-2019. First off the customer service is horrible. The ribs that both myself and cousin ordered was dry. They taste as if the were over cook 2 days prior to serving them. It more like eating pork jerky. The cleaning staff wipe the table and chairs as well sweeping the floor all around me and cousin while trying to push this god awful pork jerky down. I ask the staff if he could not clean and sling old food around while I eat. The staff got pushed out of shape and told me to get some respect. lol respect ok. I informed him I just paid $55 for my meal n drinks and didn't appreciate him cleaning and sweeping while I ate he wanted to argue however we got our thing and exit. REMEMBER CUSTOMER SERVICE IS WHAT PAY THE BILLS AS WELL AS GOOD FOOD. YOU FAILED IN ALL CATEGORIES. read more

MMMMM time to add another BBQ joint to my growing list!! Went here with a few coworkers for some Texas Style BBQ. Pretty good - I had the pulled pork sandwich and a side of garlic fries. The pulled pork was moist and tender with a decent flavor. The garlic fries, well let's just say you can smell them from a distance and they were tasty. My fellow dinners gorged themselves on ribs and for a while there my normally chatty friends were quiet and focused. An overall "great ribs" was the consensus. read more

While growing up in Mt. View, we all hung out at a great place that was "Linda's drive-in. They had a limited menu but their Parisian burger was so unique and delicious. It was a patty with cheese on a yummy French bun with an incredible sauce that made it something that I've missed for years (it turned into a photo processing shop years ago...heavy heavy sigh). A while back while searching online for the recipe for the sauce, I happily discovered that Willy's had brought it back. Thank you, thank you! I've had it a few times since then but hadn't yelped about it yet. Stopped by today and grabbed one for lunch....heaven! I'm a fan, a fan of their 18 hour slow roasted brisket.......yum! The baked beans were so not what I expected but they were ok. The corn bread good and moist the cinnamon butter was good. I ate lunch at 1pm and its now almost 6pm and I'm still full so its filling and I'm a big girl so you know I can eat me some food. We paid for a family meal of 3 adults and 2 kids 42$ not bad thought it would be more so all in all id go back for sure! read more

All of their food is fresh and they use really high quality meats for being a chain BBQ restaurant in the Bay Area. My standard choice is getting the pulled pork chopped salad which is really tasty. I've tried their BBQ meat plates which have all been good. The best side in my opinion is their spicy peanut coleslaw. Monday has all-you-can-eat ribs, and they've got specials on the other days of the week. Fries are really good, but last time garlic fries were soggy I think because of all the garlic and oil deliciousness which made for them still being good. I like their BBQ sauce but don't really care for their hot jalapeno sauce - but I am glad they have extra sauce on the tables (but you can always ask behind the counter for a warmed up side of sauce.) Employees are always really friendly. read more
