I know no other way to write this review but to  be completely honest. I wanted to make sure i recieved all my product and used a great deal of prior to writing a review. I must admit, I was taken  off guard when someone showed up at my door asking for a water sample. I was under the impression they were from the state and provided a sample. Then set an appointment to recieve the results. I was un aware that a whole presentation would ensue to purchase a water softener. The gentleman was beyond nice and down to earth. We needed a water softener so we decided to entertain the presentation. Even though I was upset at that point. At this point I must say I am beyond happy that I decided to listen and not turn him away regardless of intial contact. I have no complaints about the product. The people including the owner seem to love their job, use the product and make themselves available to the customer. The water does not leave my skin dry. My clothes feel lighter and cleaner with using their detergent. I have always been particular with what I use but I love their oatmeal soap and their body wash. The components of the cleaning supplies are not harmful. Cleaning with their products leaves things clean without a chemical smell. We were already in the process to switching to less harmful products and AEP made the transition easy and rewarding. I highly recommemd using AEP for water softener treatment. They seem to be an old school company that is genuine and proud of their product. No complaints from install delivery etc... everyone was great. I was once skeptical but I am glad I gave them a try. read more

We've had our water unit in our home for almost a year. We are disappointed and unhappy and have had buyer's remorse since we purchased the unit. My husband thought the people coming to share our water information were from the city. We were put into a three hour sales pitch on a work night and pressured into purchasing this product where the system would pay for itself because we wouldn't have to buy cleaning products. That statement was total bullshit. The partnership company that provides you with $500 worth of products is inefficient. I used all of these cleaning products for six months. My clothes smell and are grimy, they cannot disinfect and you don't feel clean after using them. My biggest issue with the company is that I asked the sales man what additional cost would be associated and he only told me about this $5 bottle of solution. He failed to mention the salt tablets or the yearly maintenance cost. We were told the water line was hooked up to our fridge which was a lie after our refrigerator technician came out due to water issues. The third party billing company they use won't get you anywhere when you have questions or need a breakdown of your bill and it's automatic system doesn't connect you to any personal and their website is even less helpful. We completely regret purchasing this unit and I would advise anyone to look for other options that are more cost efficient. Almost $6000 to first time buyers was a lot of money and clearly the biggest and crappiest learning lesson. read more

I was approached by a woman who spoke very fast and has been doing her job for a long time. She explained that my water needed to be tested and as a new resident in Casa Grande I figured I better get it done. I did not realize at the time that it was going to be a sales pitch for the water system. That is the part of this process I didn't like. (4 stars instead of 5) After I accepted it for what it was I listened to the presentation(well done) and decided that I wanted cleaner, softer water so I purchased the system. The installation was swift and professional. I am very pleased with the results. The water is soft and believe it or not my hair feels conditioned without conditioner! I love that. Love reading these reviews. Looks like many of us need scam filtration systems. Can we all agree to stop feeling pressured into giving anyone who knocks on our doors anything?? (law enforcement agencies aside) This lady came by at dinner time and, as all of these reviews say very hurriedly rattled off some spiel about complimentary water testing. She didn't outright say she was from the government, but yes the way the request was presented seemed somewhat official and urgent. But STILL ODD. So as she shoved the bottle towards me I asked her: "What is this? Are you from the city, the county?" "uhm nope" "Ok so what is this then?" "Complimentary water testing, going to the whole neighborhood" "Do you have any collateral? Anything that says who you represent, what this is??" **hands me a half-sheet of paper and my eyes zero in on the phrase "OUR COMPANY SELLS WATER PROCESSORS AND DRINKING WATER SYSTEMS FOR RESIDENTIAL AND COMMERCIAL USE..." A-ha! SO scammy - why wouldn't they just say so??? I think now, 'obviously they will take this sample and tell me my water is killing me and this is why I need to buy their water system' So I tell her no thank you, and she responds: "But it's complimentary" "That's ok, don't want it" And this was the kicker: "Do you have an external spigot I could get the sample for you myself?" The soft water and RO system were already installed by the previous ower when we purchased our home. We called the company and asked what we needed to do to get it all up and running. They sent a tech out right away that explained everything and changed all the filters. We now pay $165 about ever 1 1/2 years to get it serviced. We have never received anything but good service from them. At the price they are asking for a new system, I would never have purchased it myself, but I do love the whole system. read more

I've had my water system for over 10 years. I had my annual check with filters changed today. The representative Tommy was courteous and efficient. He checked all my systems and explained everything was working well. He showed me the filters that he exchanged which clearly showed they needed to be replaced. I see the difference in my water! He did however fail to put the things I had under the kitchen sink back, but I was able to re organize. read more

As a new home owner I wanted to make sure I preserved the quality of water running through my pipes and new faucet fixtures. I was recommended by a family friend whom gave me the VIP treatment with AEP inc. The company was able to get a sales facilitator the next day to ensure I had all my questions answered. I never knew about water treatment systems or had a softener product in my living quarters. I'm originally from Southern California and all I knew was about the ocean water and filtration from cities, but I had no idea you could own your very own water system for your entire home. I was able to make my purchase for the innovative system and RO filtration with ease and confidence. I personally spoke with the owner Dorella, whom congratulated me and welcomed me to the water treatment family! It's been a few weeks now that I've enjoyed every moment of water opportunities and I can instantly feel a difference with my skin. The soapy feeling is now leaving a moisturized affect for my eczema and also leaving my dogs' fur silky smooth! My family visited and complimented the water taste of RO, as well as their shower experiences. Guy came to our door around 7pm and wanted a water sample, sounding like he was from a government agency. Gullible as I am, I gave it to him. He promised to have a trained technician come out the next day to give us our results and a gift card. What?? The gift card part was a red flag. Luckily, my SO was home the next day and refused to let the "tech" in our home. He said you can either give us the results out here or we didn't want them. The guy took off fast!! Afterwards, I googled the company and found other people had similar experiences with this secretive sales pitch and I felt like I had to leave another post. We received a sales call from a gentleman who wanted to come to our home and show us his presentation. Our first thought was, no not interested, but we figured, why not? Take the $50 gift card and politely decline his offer. He didn't get to finish his whole presentation (it's a long one) because my husband had to get ready for work, but we were already sold. I'm so excited that we no longer have to make weekly trips to the water store, we now get fresh, clean tasting water right out of our tap, and I feel so much better about my kids bathing and brushing their teeth with clean, filtered water. This is our first time getting a water softener in our home and we are so happy we made the decision to invest in the water quality we have for our family. I will admit, like many mentioned when they first knock on your door the person who offers to test your water is not very clear that they work for this company and that it's a sales pitch, but if you ask the right questions they will let you know. My advice is that like anything if you are unsure of what something is be upfront and ask questions because that's how you communicate and have realistic expectations of what to expect when they come for the follow up. In our situation when Roni came to show us the quality of our water and give us the demonstration we were shocked to see how much sediment and chlorine is in our water, including our fridge water which has a filter! And we have been using to cook and make ice. It was eye opening. He was very friendly and went over the process of what to expect with the filter maintenance every year and what it would cost monthly to pay for the system. It's not cheap but we decided it was worth the money because health is important and we honestly can't put a price on that. So far I am loving how easy it is to clean my home now that we have soft water, the soaps and cleaners do a better job and a little goes a long way. Also our showers have been amazing, no more itchy dry skin. But what makes everything amazing is that our drinking water filter makes water taste so good, even better than the bottled water we used to buy. And the guys that installed the system did not mind running a line to my fridge when I asked them and now our ice maker has clean ice as well! Overall it has been a positive experience and I would say they are worth giving them a shot. read more

We have had the system for a couple weeks now and we have been nothing but impressed with the system. It has worked amazingly and we have noticed a big change in the amount of soap we use as well as the taste in our water. The staff who helped install the softner and filters were exceptional. They came in and fixed a leak under a sink that we hadn't even noticed. The sales and care team were great and helped us know exactly what we were getting out of this system. Wow, if only my fiancé and I had seen the reviews of this company. We too were completely oblivious to the fact that this company was a sales company. Like everyone else, some lady came up to our door and caught us while we were putting up Halloween decorations at around 5pm. She introduced herself as Nicole and was surprisingly nice and made everything seem like it was some sort of state test to make sure our water is safe. We gave her the water sample and she told us someone would be in contact with us tomorrow to go over our results. I got the phone call to confirm, and Michael came out at around the same time the next day, briefcase in hand like some professional water chemist. He pulls out his test tubes and asks to take some samples of our water, and filtered fridge water and we say sure. He then pulls out a device and sticks it onto our sink, which apparently is the "miracle" here to show us what our water could be! At that moment I knew we were getting a sales pitch. Stupid us. Here's where it gets bad. He pulls out a monthly budget sheet for us to fill out for how much we spend on soaps and other things. As soon as I hand it back, he seems to question it, then proceeds to ask what we do for work, how we're making money, and if we're even in a situation to afford the piece of garbage their trying to sell. Really?!!! Your job as a salesman is to sell the product, not question someone's financial stability. Totally unprofessional. He then started packing up his things and seemed a mix of annoyed and disappointed that he probably wasn't going to get his commission. He then called his boss, told her that we're not financially able to afford their $5,800 water softener, and she asks us the same question, "well what are you guys doing for work?" Unbelievable! What we do for a living and our financial stability is none of your business at all! And for the record, we actually are in the market for a water softener/filtration system, but not from them! Would not recommend this company in a million years to anyone. You've heard this from everyone else already, but if you need to hear it one more time, DONT GIVE ANYONE A WATER SAMPLE, even for a gift card because you probably won't get it in the end! read more

I wasn't going to post a review, but after a follow-up phone call from this company I felt like I had to. First of all their sales tactics are not ethical (at least in my opinion). Initially they have someone canvasing the streets collecting water samples saying they're from Arizona Environmental Progress - making it sound like a state agency. They take a sample of your water and go and test it for you. So far not really a problem. Then they come out with their sales pitch. After I continue to explain to the salesperson that we really don't have to go through all the demonstrations because I know I have hard water and I know what soft water can do, the salesperson continues to go through her sales pitch. Ok, so at this point I'm mildly annoyed, but still not really a problem. At the end she starts to break down the cost of the system (over $6k) for their "patented" process. Fair warning, the chemistry of turning hard water into soft water is not a secret. A patent might exist for part of the system, but most systems will do the same thing to your water. So what are you paying for? A "lifetime" warranty and a ton of cleaning chemicals - that they also sell. Keep in mind the "lifetime" warranty is ONLY on the components that won't wear out - everything else (valves, timers, etc.) is NOT covered. So then she starts pitching the "direct marketing" price of around $4500. But in order to get that price I HAVE TO MAKE THE DECISION THAT DAY! Zero time to put their claims to the test, look up reviews on their company and system, price out competitors, etc. I explain that this is a huge red flag. The sales lady then tried to tell me that it would be a lack of integrity to promise a price that ends that day and then provide the same price at a later date. I explain to her that it is a lack of integrity, ethics, and faith in your product to not allow a customer time to do any research prior to making a major purchase like this. So as she collects her things I look them up on the Better Business Bureau. So despite the fact that she and her company boasted about their BBB rating, they have more customer complaints on their website than praise. Same on Yelp for that matter. I explain this to her and she says that anyone (their competitors) can go on there and make a complaint. I explain to her that anyone (her company) can likewise go on their and make praise. So at this point I've decided not to purchase their system. Mainly because after actual research I found a better system for about a third of their "direct marketing" price. I figured I would just let the whole thing go. That is until I received a follow-up phone call from their company. The lady on the phone started nice asking how the sales meeting went. I started to explain that I wasn't a huge fan of their sales tactics (with the neighborhood canvasser, "direct marketing", etc.). She just starts talking over me. Telling me that the initial person handed out a paper specifically stating she wasn't with a government entity (no such paper was given to me). Actually telling me that the Arizona Attorney General prevents them from offering the "direct marketing" price past the day of the sales pitch! I called BS right away and as I'm attempting to explain to her just how full of it she was she continued to talk over me. I was actually being very calm, reasonable, and honest as she just kept getting louder and louder. Eventually I just told her if she didn't want my feedback she shouldn't ask for it and then hung up the phone. Frankly, their sales tactics are deceptive, they are not customer friendly, and they are incapable of having rational conversations even on the phone. There are BETTER water softening systems in the valley that are a FRACTION of the price that include up to 10 year warranties on EVERY PART OF THE SYSTEM. If you want some advice, take a pass on this company. read more

This may be a wonderful product, BUT they are not honest about their objective from get go. A person comes to your door handing you a small bottle to collect a water sample, coming across as for "purely environmental purpose". Don't do it, unless you are prepared to receive several more calls to make sure you AND your spouse will be there when their person returns to give you your water results. As they were on the phone confirming our appointment with their tech, who would deliver our results, I specifically asked if this will be somehow connected to us having to buy a product. The lady on the phone said: "Oh, yeah, we have products for people..." thus dodging my wanting to find out if our appointment was going to be a sales pitch. Sure enough, Mike came as scheduled and right off the bat I asked him if this was going to be us listening to a product pitch. I explained to him that I specifically asked about this and because I didn't receive a clear answer, am not interested in going through the sales pitch. Thank you Arizona Environmental Progress for ruining our evening! A week or so ago, some guy rings my doorbell and asks to get a sample of our water, like he is from a governmental agency. I tell him I am not interested and he insists this is a free service to let us know the quality of our water. So I go ahead and give him a sample. A couple days later the Company keeps calling me to schedule a time with both myself and my wife. They can't just meet with one of us. Well tonight a saleswoman shows up in a black Mercedes and shows us how you need clean water to clean! She goes through our whole house showing us how you need her system to be able to clean anything. This goes on for what seems like an eternity and finally I tell her that I just want to know how much it costs or I'm not interested. Then she goes into all the "complimentary" soaps and cleaners they will give us for free for five years. She randomly starts reading some things from a BBB brochure and continues flipping through endless pages in her binder. Finally, she brings out the invoice. All right this is what I was waiting for HOW MUCH DOES IT COST! Well, it's just under $6,000. I say it's too much money and that we don't want to sign a 6-7 year contract. The saleswoman gets frustrated and starts packing up her stuff and eventually rips the invoice in half. While walking out she tells me that she has never been treating so rudely before. I tell her that I was not rude to her, I just can't afford $6,000 and that it wasn't personal. She tells me it was personal while she walks to her Mercedes. IF SOMEONE ASKS TO TAKE A SAMPLE OF YOUR TAP WATER... SAY NO!!! read more

I had someone show up at my door asking for a water sample and then they said they would call back with my free test results. Well when they called the guy said he wanted to meet in person to give me the results and that I would get a free case of bottled water for meeting with him. I said ok and was going to set something up when he asked for a time that both me AND my wife could be there. I told him that wasnt gonna happen because she works weird hours. After a couple days worth of phone calls I told him that we werent interested at this time and that is whe he said " So you were just leading me on this whole time? That is pretty rude of you." I figured it wasnt worth arguing with someone so I hung up. DO NOT BOTHER GIVING THEM A WATER SAMPLE, it is a waste of time and frustration. read more

This company knocks on your door at the most inconvenient time of the day - while you are enjoying a meal with your family who you haven't seen all day - only to pretend and come across as a gov't agency collecting water samples in your area. "We're here to collect a water sample from everyone in your area." They then shove a sample collection bottle in your face so quickly and in such a slick manner in order to distract you from thinking about who is really at your door and make you feel as if this is mandatory and that they are authority figures asking for this. Just like when the meter guy comes to read the water meter or something. Then they proceed to steal your personal information from you while still pretending and playing the part of some gov't agency that seems genuinely concerned about your water quality and making sure you get the "lab" results from your area. All of this just to sneakily gather your information for future solicitation of their expensive water processing products. This should be illegal PERIOD. I wish I had had my camcorder on when these people hit my door because then they would be in real trouble. I would have sent this off to the local news in a heartbeat. This is Dateline NBC type of stuff here. Don't do business with companies like these. These are the type of companies that deserve to be heavily fined by the state in order to stop these deceptive sales practices. They give legitimate solicitors a bad name and are partly the reason why less and less people open their doors or pick up their phones these days. SHAMEFUL!!! read more

Our family has been quite satisfied with the product. We immediately saw a difference with the quality of water for drinking and other activities (cleaning, dishes, etc.) around the house. The taste was the first thing we noticed, and we love it! The reason I give it a 4 star is because I thought the door to door salesman was terrible. I felt something was not right after I gave her the water sample & she then was asking my spouces work schedule, which it veries. Then she asked where does my spouce work which I ignored. I then searched online to only find they are fraud & actually a sales company not with Arizona public health at all. I called to cancel my appt. One it is illegal to pretend to be someone your not, especially a government agency is a felony! Two, it is illegal to come to a property ringing my bell when I have a no soliciating sign up right above my door bell! Three, maybe if you guys were honest of who you were I see what water system you have to offer but when you start out with illegal actions & lies. I will never do any form of business with such. I purchased my home in February 2009 and it came with a water filtration system from Arizona Environmental Progress so I can't speak to their sales tactics. I did have a costly resin replacement for around $400 after I had to refill part of my pool. In hindsight, I should have switched off the water filter system. I also had to pay $200 for a valve rebuild the same year. Since then, the yearly service for filter changes has run around $170. The water in our home is really soft. When we go on vacation and rent houses or stay in hotels, our hair immediately feels the difference. If we leave water in a cup, it just evaporates and doesn't leave any residue behind. There is a reverse osmosis system underneath my sink as well. The water from our spout gives us filtered water taste all the time. There aren't any hard water marks or sediment build up in any of our showers. Most of the build up in the showers is from soap/shampoo splash. I guess we're a little spoiled now because I can distinctly taste at restaurants whether the water they serve is filtered or not. Sometimes we joke that some restaurants serve tap water so that you'll want to order a drink (not from a soda gun which uses the same tap water) from them. Apparently, the previous owners bought a system that is used more in commercial applications, but our system works fine for us. We always get a free bag of salt every time they come out for service. Several of the technicians also showed me how to dilute the Hydro-Rinse so that it lasts longer. Keep in mind, this system won't make all of the water in your house taste great as it flows through various pipes so we only drink the water from the reverse osmosis spout. If the service was cheaper, it would be even better. However, I think given the reliability of the system after the resin replacement and valve rebuild maybe it would require more maintenance calls. read more

Like others have said, they are easily mistakable for a govt agency when they come by to collect the initial water sample. Then Melvin calls and I express concern that I don't want anybody coming into my house for the follow up delivery of the results. This lady came to my door today as we were leaving for a dr appt. ...with a clipboard and no mask. She said name of company in such a way we initially thought a government or city agency. She had a vial and said she needed a sample of our water. I said whoa as she was about to head over to do just that without permission, and stopped her asking again what is this about. She mumbled something but I caught "soft water" in there and told her we already had a soft water system. She was surprised but without further ado or comment she turned and left. Why I'm taking the time to write this is that this lady initially pounded on our door last week while we were asleep. So much so that I got up to see her and her car outside but I didn't want to answer the door in a state of sleepiness. We then noticed her parked on our street over next few days! Our new neighbor even discussed it with us. She was staking us out!! It was scary! We then left today for an appt forgetting about her, and no sooner then we hit driveway she zooms up to catch us. I have an az environmental setup in my home. Soft water and ro system. I think they work well, are easy to keep maintained and look nice and increase the value of my home. Now for the bad: They are more expensive then the models at Lowe's that do the same thing and have cheaper more available replacement filters. The servicing once a year is pricy and the household cleaners they give you free for 5 years suck. They smell nice but don't do much in the way of cleaning. I should have done my homework and gotten a cheaper system at Lowe's. The warranty is nice but you have to pay them to service it yearly and can't get the filters and do it yourself so you have to pay labor every year. They told me we could do our own filters and not have to pay the labor but just shipping and then the year after we got it installed started to call us asking when we wanted the new filters put in. We asked to have them shipped so we could avoid the labor and they said doing it ourselves would void the warranty. My parents had the same system with az environmental and they loved it so I thought I was choosing wisely. I'm about to pay it off next month and will be glad to have done it early as the interest is crap on that loan. Do your homework. Don't buy the sales pitch. read more
