Arirang is a go to for us for Korean food. This is similar to home style cooking with great quality and variety. We love coming here for the combo dishes of kalbo and cold noodles. The side dishes are classic Korean sides and give some nostalgia. The steamed egg is such a crowd pleasure every time we come in. The staff is super friendly we always love catching up when we stop in (we speak Korean and can converse easily). We really feel like family here after getting to know the staff and love coming on a regular basis. Another amazing dish is the spicy kalbo Jim! Never see that anywhere else. Terrible experience... We went to the place and ordered the special. The sign in front of the door indicated that it closed at 10 PM. We ordered the food, and before even finishing it, they brought the to-go containers and the busboy... all before 9 PM. The food was okay! We ate all of it so it was pretty good! I thought the Kalbi was lacking flavor. I didn't have a good experience here. Most of the waitresses are rude. They are also stingy here. One of the people in our party was missing a side of sauce so we told the waitress and she refused to give it and claimed that she already gave it to us at the beginning but we didn't see it! We asked for more lettuce, they also refused. They also didn't want to refill our side dishes. Something I'm not used to! Every kbbq place I go to is happy to refill anything we finish! We had a large party so we made reservations ahead of time. We called the night before just to confirm we were on their list. They were also very rude of the phone. I treated my mom and sister out to lunch this weekend R Arirang BBQ, let me get into it. The food was pretty good. And being able to see my mom and sister not have to worry about cleaning up was nice. My mom said the food was food and fun sister said, she is spoiled by my mom's cooking and the food at Arirang was just average compared to my mom's cooking. The food was good in my opinion. The service was just okay I do think that the service can vary at times based on waitresses and the amount of customers that are in the shop. Atmosphere or ambiance like I like to call it, it was okay. I have to say the tvs with the Korean music going was nice. The seats on the other hand really are dated. Food: 9/10 I always love myself some Korean bbq! With my group of 4, we selected the "set meal for $150" because it had more bang for your buck than getting each dish individually. It came with a choice of stew, japchae, Korean pancake, 4 meats to grill, and loads of side dishes. The pancake came out first and it was a bit bland, but when dipping it in the savory sauce they gave you, it tasted better. Next was the japchae. The noodles were chewy and the right amount of salty. The side dishes came out and the kimchi was very tangy and good. Then the meats arrived and we put them on the grill. The lady helped us with grilling and taught us what side dishes and sauces to combine the meat with. The Kalbi and bulgogi so juicy and flavorful (were my favorite). The army stew was the last dish to arrive, and by that time we were so full, it was hard to enjoy it. But the stew was a nice palette cleanser, it was just a bit salty though. Service: 10/10 The Korean grandmas were so kind and hospitable. It felt like your own grandma taking care of you at home! They made sure to teach us about their different foods and what combines with what to produce the best flavor. I found this place because it was right behind the king spa location I came from. It's a Korean restaurant and the food was good. They have a menu in English as well as Korean. I'm also glad they have pictures too by the name of the food . The service was nice and they are friendly staff. The place wasn't too busy so I came at a good time it was at noon time when I went on Tuesday. I tried the spicy beef bulgogi and it came with 4 sides and also a tofu soup. My friend and I decided to come here after going to the driving range on a hot day to get Naengmyeon. It was one of the best decisions we made. The staff and service was nice and friendly. We got the banchan which is always a plus for me at Korean restaurants! It was so good. Our Naengmyeon came out and cut our noodles so it wasn't super long. The mustard and vinegar was also set at our table so we can put in as much to our liking. I like the ice in the broth because it kept it cold. We were both satisfied with our decision. Been here for a couple times already, we enjoyed their combo special menu. They serve authentic Korean food!! We have yet to try their Korean bbq items however, we usually just order off the combo specials because we like the variety of food. We got the spicy pork belly stir fry which comes with purple rice, miso soup, and the L.A. galbi and bibimbap combo! And you can upgrade it to a stone pot bibimbap instead of a regular bowl for $2, highly recommend upgrading! Everything was good, the only thing is that my bibimbap was very oily on the bottom, I only ended up eating the top half. You can legit scoop out spoonful of oil from the pot. Other than that, still my go to spot in the suburbs! The service was good, and we get our food fairly quick. Price is reasonable $25 for the bibimbap + L.A. Kalbi combo, go check it out next time you visit Niles, and it's on the corner of the plaza with the super h mart. read more

This has been my favorite Korean Bbq spot so far. It's definitely out of the way for me, but the flavors and quality of the food is by far the best I've tried. only restaurant i know that serves raw soy sauce marinated crabs!! i was a little skeptical about the service but everyone was friendly. the interior is much larger than what it appears to be on the outside. they did say that the mini cold noodles were only available with bbq but i wish that was written in the menu. the side dishes were yummy and they gave us free soybean soup! it was surprisingly the best item we had. we ordered spicy cold noodles (regular size), stir fried pork belly, and the smallest raw marinated crab. the portions were large and could easily feed 3-4 people. they also give out purple rice instead of white rice and any rice bowls afterwards are extra. the total for the bill before tax and tip was $88 which i thought was decent since we had crab. overall everything was a hit and i'm looking forward to my next meal here! read more

Got ripped off ordering Army soup. Server spoke broken English. I asked for one order. She did not say if there is a 2 minimum order. She turns to my guest and asks, "You like Army soup?" Sounded like small talk. My guest says, "Yeah, I'll try some." Which I understood aa he will try the soup I ordered one for myself. It was spam, hotdogs, tofu, cheese and then some. Bill came and it was nearly $45. Galbi for 8 cut up pieces cooked in kitchen was near $25. Plus tax and tip. Over $80. I could have paid for better ayce k bbq at Iron Age and ordered drinks. My friend posted a pic of their soy sauce marinated crab and I HAD to go check it out. It's so hard to find Korean restaurants that have this!!! This place is a Korean bbq restaurant located in Niles next to the big h-mart. I went and steamed agu caught my eyes too so had to get both steamed agu and soy sauce marinated crab. The price is pretty high for a Korean restaurant. I think it's the highest I paid for steamed agu and soy sauce marinated crab but when cravings call, you splurge. Also, people probably order these when in groups I got a Medium size which is 6 pcs for the soy sauce marinated crab and the two came out to be around 100 after tip . I thought 6pcs would be nothing but the portions were actually really big and filling. We had leftovers to go ($1 for each Togo container). Both of the dishes were so phenomenal and tasty. I forgot how pricey it was after taking a bite. The interior was nice and gave me Korean traditional vibes. The ahjoomas (ladies) were more attentive than other Korean restaurants (cz lots of Korean restaurants have terrible service unfortunately). When I visit Evanston, IL and I crave Korean food, this is the spot I normally go to. It's right next to H Mart which is one of the largest Korean supermarkets in the area. So after eating a nice meal here I usually go Korean food shopping. Also the service here is so nice. The waitresses here seem to care so much about providing great service and serving tasty food. Definitely try this place for a decent K-bbq and good tasting Korean food. I came here with my mom after a doing groceries near h mart because it was walking distance and when we walked in the restaurant was really clean and not too many people and our waitress was so sweet. There was a lot of food plus side dishes which I love. The price also isn't as expensive when dining here, I ordered beef brisket and pork belly and the bill was only around $55. Also, something smelled pretty bad and lingered in the air until grilling started...almost urine like which was very off putting. Maybe bad Kimchi. However, service was not good at all. Every time we asked for something, the server would grunt and act annoyed, which made us not want to ask for anything. Even my mom, who has been a server for over 40 years, even did not want to give 20% tip due to poor service, but we were automatically charged 20% gratuity. Excellent service and experience. The server was so kind and courteous and the restaurant was very comfortable, clean, spacious, and welcoming. The cost wasn't too high (at least it's not any more expensive than most Korean BBQ spots already are) and the samgyeopsal, bulgogi, and panchan (kimchi was fresh!) were delicious. They had saeng makkeolli as well (draft rice wine) which was a plus. This will definitely be our go-to place for Korean bbq! UPDATE: We returned and this time I tried the soy sauce crab (ganjang gaejang). As someone who's been to South Korea, this particular dish is hard to find in the States and most Korean restaurants in the city don't serve it! It's also not for everyone, but I love it: it's sweet and addictive, and the crab is so flavorful. It's also served in a way that makes it easy to eat. The only deterrence is that it is a partcularly costly dish, but I think it's worth trying once if you've never had it. read more

This restaurant is located around the corner from H Mart which has an amazingly broad supply of fruits, vegetables and Asian foods. We came after shopping at the H Mart and were not disappointed. The sizzling rice in the individual pots were the best we ever had. The bibim bop was delicious and service was attentive. Food was pretty good but as usual service (in korean restaurants in general) was lacking. Party of 9 Some of the booth seating here is a bit funny tho. They have booths that seemed long but is divided by a low barrier so if you don't have a large party it's possible you'll be right up next to strangers. They sat us in 2 different booths across for each other but one of our booths was the funny booth one so we sat up against another family. We asked to be moved behind us so that we could all sit together n she said it was reserved n she couldn't move us. Oh ok fine. But then a party of 2 walked in n they moved us to the larger funny booth so that she could give one of our booths to the couple that just walked in. But whatever. We got what we wanted. So we order a bunch of stuff. Faves were all the banchan (side dishes) and the pork cutlet (tonkatsu) plus the super cool n delicious rice made in individual pressure cookers in the back n super delish!!! As a vegan there wasn't much on the menu I could have but was able to omit a few ingredients to make it vegan. But of course it wasn't the same. We also wanted to order the bi bim nang myun (mixed cold buckwheat noodle dish) which is usually a summer dish but it's a korean BBQ staple so ALL of the korean Bbq places I've been to has it year round. But when I asked about it she said they couldn't make it. Oh well. HOWEVER when we were done eating n ready to leave we noticed the booth across from us had 2 of them on their table. WTF??? I've been here before with some family members, and the food is delicious. My family really enjoyed it. We had a good time. I decided to take my friends there. There was something on the menu that said you get two bowls of rice with one meat ordered. We had a vegetarian with us, so she was going to order something else. The rest of us (about 6 minus the vegetarian) were going to order 3 meats and get the 2 rices with it. The waitress kept telling us it's not enough meat, but we ordered that so we can try a little bit of different meats. The waitress kept trying to make us choose the more expensive option: one order for each person instead of what we were asking for. I repeated to her multiple times what we were asking for. She left to the front and talked to another waitress who went up to us and said "there's another Korean BBQ spot not too far from here that might be more in your budget." We had money. We didn't want to order one meat each person because it'd be a waste if we didn't finish it or liked it. Been here twice, first for lunch and ordered Daeng Jang Jigae. Here for dinner, and got Bibim Bop after I was told after a 15 minute wait that there is no Kimchee Jigae tonight. Most of the BBQ tables were taken, so I am assuming they were a little overwhelmed. I could tell. My server was very apologetic, but in the end it was a 28 minute wait for Bibim Bop...to non-Korean restaurant goers, that should never happen. Now, the food was good, not spectacular, but you get consistent quality. You get 8 panchan side dishes. 2 types of kimchee, fish cake, broccolli, 2 spinach types, and beansprouts. At least in my 2 trips. I am going to come back, but probably at lunch. read more

They changed the name but not changed they are still the best Korean food in town. I am glad they changed to the name we all recognized as Korean Restaurant. I have been to Arirang named restaurants , in Chicago , Jakarta , Los Angeles , and few others . Somehow they are all very good Korean restaurants. The authenticity of the taste are very important when we are trying international cuisines. And Arirang St Paul didn't disappoint. The only set back is their location is not easy to go to , and parking is a bit difficult. read more

BE AWARE!! Be careful when you order their squid dish. They will bring you the small portion one but still charge you for the big portion price. They did this to me twice. 1st time was when I went for a dinner with my husband. I ordered stir-fried squid for my dinner. The server then brought me squid stone pot which also the same as stir-fried squid but it served on rice in a stone pot. The portion is small and cost less than stir-fried squid. I told my husband that it wasn't what I wanted. We did not want to make it a big deal so we quietly ate our food. However, when we asked for the check they charged us for stir-fried squid not for squid stone pot price. I was a little confused but again we were nice about it and I didn't asked them to fixed it because we just wanted to leave. We went back again today and the exact same thing happened to me!! This was my first time to a Korean BBQ restaurant, so i had no idea you could get a table with a cook top to prepare your food!!! Their tables fot 4 nicely, but the booth next to it can fit four more, so a party of eight could have a fun night out making Korean food together! We opted for food that was already prepared. I had a great spicey stew and my boyfriend had a rice dish. Both entrees were excellent! We added fried dumplings to the meal which were very tasty. The service was extremely friendly!!
