Really delicious food, and plenty of it! I ordered the goat soup, which is a big bowl of soup to begin with, and it came with rice, kimchi, and a turnip(?). I was not a fan of the turnip, but the kimchi was delicious, and I really liked the rice and soup together. The vibe here is very much that of a food court inside a mall, because that's what it is. There are mall noises, at least two different kinds of music playing from different directions, shoppers walking by. You order, get your food at counter, and bring your tray back to the same counter when you're finished. The cashier at the counter is friendly and polite. Get the goat soup! You'll be glad you did!

This place is located in the food court inside Park to Shop (formally Assi). The food here is surprisingly delicious considering its location in a grocery store chain. I've tried the blood sausage soup, gamja tang, goat soup, and galbi tang here. They're all excellent at reasonable prices similar to other Korean restaurants in the area. The goat soup is so good, and reminds me of my favourite place in the DFW. Gamja tang is my personal weakness, and I come here to fulfill the occasional craving. The blood sausage soup is also good, although the blood sausage could be better. Their sausage falls apart in hot soup so they serve it in a separate cup, fyi. The kimchi is also great. It's not that pale, bland kimchi that's usually served in food courts! Overall, a convenient place to have a quality meal with minimal fuss.

That is the owner of this korean beef soup restaurant

I live far from Niles but I always come here whenever I am craving for some soup. They have the best soups I ever had here in the US. I always go for Tendon soup and Short Ribs soup. Always a thumbs up when it comes to taste and I always feel full afterwards. I always see the lady owner at the counter whenever I order so she's a fixture here. Me and my husband thought Assi Plaza closed since Google said it closed permanently. Good thing I did not surrender and googled for this specific restaurant hoping it relocated somewhere else. Lo and behold, they just changed the name from Assi Plaza to Park To Shop and when I called Korean Beef Soup's phone number, somebody answered and it was the owner and they are still open! So off we went again. Imma try the other soups next time I come back. This resto has the best soups I ever had. It doesn't disappoint the palate .

    Beef bulgogi. Very good!

Save 3% by bringing cash. This was that rare occasion where the food looked nicer than the picture on the menu. I ordered beef bulgogi. It arrived on a sizzling plate, with a delicious cup of beef broth, and two vegetables. The dish was large and delicious. I had leftovers to take home.

If you want simple good korean soups, this place should be on your list. They offer most of the basics soups and their kimchi and radish sides are spot on. We came during an off dining time and they were still busy with a steady stream of customers that came in. Many uncles and aunties visited this booth so its got the community stamp of approval. We got the goat meat soup and Seoul lung tang. Both were tasty, had a perfect ratio of ingredients and came piping hot. Needless to say we left completely satisfied and would definitely come again.

Gave this place a try because we were hungry after shopping at Assi. The owner recommended us to get spicy pork soup and beef soup. I'm pleasantly surprised and impressed. The soup is nicely flavorful and the portion is big. We love how the meat just fall of from the bones. Definitely will come back for more .

I make a trip to assi mart on milwaukee ave to go to this place. It is in food court of big korean market called assi mart. Their gam ja tang is definitely my favorite. It is a must try.

Piping hot Korean Ox tail and knee bone soup!
    Berni C.

Best Korean ox tail and knee soup combo. With added probiotic kimchi on the sides . Ox tail soup is a known collagen rich soup and the ine they serve is delish! Service is brisk. You are given a round thingie that alarma when food is ready. Resto is located inside Korean Assi grocery store. Just the regular wiiden table and chair fast food ambience but with the homey comfort food. Can't neat that!

Wrote a review about this place under Assi Plaza, but this place so good it deserves it's own review. GET THE CHICKEN SOUP - samgyetang or dak gomtang. Didnt get to try the samgyetang because they didnt have any left but if it's anything like the dak gomtang I'm pretty sure its amazing. Samgyetang is soup with a whole chicken & ginseng while dak gomtang has chicken pieces but still a lot of it. This place makes it so well it brought me back to my childhood when my mom used to make it a lot. You know it's good when it makes you cry a little but still do a happy dance :)

Jin Soo KBBQ was such a solid spot for a full-on Korean BBQ experience…read more From the start, the table setup was on point -- a generous spread of banchan like kimchi, fish cake, creamy salad, and dipping sauces that all complemented the meat perfectly. I love when the sides keep coming and actually taste fresh, and these definitely did. The grill experience was the highlight. Watching the marinated beef sizzle over the charcoal while it caramelized and crisped at the edges? Elite. The meat was tender, juicy, and packed with flavor -- especially dipped into the sesame oil sauce or that savory soy-based sauce with scallions. Every bite wrapped in lettuce with garlic and sauce was chef's kiss. And the yukhoe (beef tartare) was beautifully presented -- layered with avocado, topped with a glossy egg yolk and garlic slices. It was fresh, rich, and buttery with just the right amount of seasoning. Mixing it all together made it creamy and flavorful without being overpowering. Overall, Jin Soo delivers on quality meat, great sides, and that interactive KBBQ vibe that makes the meal feel like an experience. Definitely a spot worth coming back to when you're craving good Korean BBQ in Chicago

The fried rice wasn't my favorite, but the matcha salt was sooo good, and the chimichurri was yum. The banchan was decent too. The real standout, though, was the service. MAGNIFICENT. Everyone took such good care of us and made the experience feel special.

The redecorating and ambience was modern and sleek, with fully operational and clean water features. Grills were gas-operated, one grills there own meat items here. I really liked the natural-stone mini-subway style tiles on the walls. Like a lot of Korean places I have seen, the seats had minimal padding. I think this would be a great place for a date if you're in the area, a prize in an unassuming strip mall anchored by an auto parts store. Food was great, they happily and generously provided more banchan and also gave us complimentary bowls of soy paste soup that was practically jumping out of the bowl. As civilised as I tried to be, using my chopsticks and the cooking tongs correctly, I still felt like I completely stuffed my face like at a trough '^_^ it was all so good. Maybe to accommodate the neighborhood, the banchan was not nearly as spicy as we expected, so that might be great for someone trying Korean for the first time. Some might balk at the prices of some items, such as $24.99 for 1/2lb of raw meat, but we had a very enjoyable time and hope to come again.

Even then, it's iffy - if the meat can't stand on its own, and needs a bath of some class of syrup, it's maybe not all that good. This is the crux of my complaint with Tang's Bibimbap. The beef within the stone bowl was insipid, lacking any freshness or seasoning. It felt as though it'd been made at least an hour before, and then added as part of assembly. the veggies and egg had some flavor of their own, but not much. It took a *healthy* amount of sauce to turn up the flavor of the bowl. After a couple round of sauce, mix, and taste, I got the flavor turned up to where I liked it. After then, the bowl was fine, and by then the rice had transformed into divine crispness from being pressed into the stone. Don't get me wrong, the bowl became fine. Still, I feel as though there is a difference between food that stands on its own, or one that needs additions to not be sent back. The Banchan were of the same theme as the Bibimbap. While some (not all) had flavor, such as the kimchi, these flavors felt uninspired and plain. Usually, there is at least one or two standout Banchan, but not in this case. An area I want to give points for was the service. The food came out fast, and the server was friendly, welcoming, and attentive. Final verdict: The overall experience was okay, in the way that works if you're in a pinch. Sauce is mandatory, and side plates are underwhelming at best. However, despite some misses with the Banchan, the Bibimbap was perfectly edible.

We didn't try any food since we came from a late dinner but I could see how it would add to the ambience. Dropped a star due to confusion/miscommunication with staff when we were directed to our room. We were a group of 10 that booked a small room but were seated in the large room. Since we were celebrating a birthday, we didn't think anything of it. When we went to pay, we realized that it was not a complimentary upgrade and were charged for the large room ($20 more per hr). Because it just opened, we were one of the few groups yet service was still pretty slow (we kept looking for a button to call the waiter as many korean restaurants have). We ordered the following - prices were a bit high overall: - kimchi fried rice: the cheese made this nice and savory and this was the best bang for your buck because of the portion - galbi: pretty tasty but small pieces - chicken feet stew: this came out cold so we had to send it back- they had forgotten to bring out the portable burner that comes with the dish. Otherwise this was very spicy (which I liked) and a big portion - bossam: my favorite dish. Lots of sides that came with the pork belly, which was great because none of the other dishes came with banchan or kimchi. Rice is usually an extra cost, but the server gave it to us complementary during this visit. I'm glad I tried a lot of dishes and had tasty Korean bar food! I'd recommend giving it a try.
