Very nice cashiers in mart and exceptionally clean and upscale gas market. It also had a car wash available.

6:42pm 4/1/24 I was in line inside the gas station and a black woman in her late 40's came in and asked for tobacco products (something about a black and mild). Cashier (who is Latino) asked her for ID. She said she didn't have any and told her sorry I can't help you. Right after two Latino men around the same age late 40's came in and put beer on the counter. The same cashier asked for ID, the two men said they don't have any ID. The cashier scanned the beer and took the money. I'm not saying the cashier was racist but it looked a little "racey". You have to be consistent with the ID check. Like all Arco stations, gasoline here is cheaper then every other competitor. Tonight when I drove by it was $3.39 for regular unleaded. Even with the $.35 convenience fee, you're still coming out way ahead if you pump more than a few gallons. This Arco station is open 24 hours, and it's juxtaposition to the 210 freeway and Rosemead Boulevard means it's always lively. There is a team of cardboard sign panhandlers that work all four left turn islands of the intersection at Rosemead and Foothill, and they often use this Arco as their 15 minute break station. This is also one of the older Arco stations in the area. As such, the facilities are not as modernized as, say, the station at the corner of foothill and Santa Anita a few miles east. As an anecdote, the station has the distinction of being the place I saw the cheapest gas as a driver. In the late 1990s, gasoline was advertised at the station for $.83 a gallon, when oil prices tanked. Now, we have been trained to believe that gas for over three dollars a gallon is a deal. I'm not really sure why this place has such a low rating. I've never had an issue coming here to pump for fuel. Arco are usually the cheapest Top Tier gas stations in the area and this particular location always comes in clutch when I need to pump close to the 210. There are 9 pumps which is always a plus, when you're in a time crunch and the attendants never gave me any problems whenever I'd pay in cash. I actually just filled up right now and I was in an out in just a few minutes. read more

Gas is six dollars plus a gallon and they turn the pump off at 100 but charge you to use your debit card so in order to fill up you'd have to use it twice. Get with the program guys. Not ever going back to you until you fix that problem and when I asked them about it they were jerks. read more

Cramped arco station, but low gas prices! The arrangement of the stalls make the lines long since a lot of drivers do not know how to back into the stalls. It also doesn't help that there are three stalls per row. I only come to this location because it's right off the freeway but its definitely not my favorite arco. read more

Why here? Because after you've been driving for nearly three hours and you've entered Southern California, it's nice to find a bathroom and convenience store right off the freeway. Believe me, this place was nothing all that special, but when it was 2:30 am, and I knew I had to drive a lot more, this place offered a welcomed bathroom and a diet Rockstar so I knew I could keep on going. Pretty cheap gas considering it's located in Pasadena and is close to the 210 freeway! Conveniently across the street from the Whole Foods shopping center that contains a Aarons, Vroman's, and a Starbucks. Also convenient place to fill up before heading to Eaton Canyon. read more

This Arco sucks. My tire needed a little air, so I went to put some air in it after I had filled the car with gas. "The air pump is broken do not use it" would've been helpful from their staff, after I went in to get them to turn it on. The staff didn't seem to know that it was broken, even though someone has clearly tried to have taped up the hose. So after I tried to fill up my tire & I noticed it had let out most of the remaining air in my tire, I go in to see what I should do. Their suggestion? Drive to a different gas station. Thanks guys, really helpful. Don't you know you can't drive on a flat. So there I am, 11 o'clock at night, after a long night at work, having to change a tire that could've easily been avoided. So I have stopped here a few times when its on my way to drop off my daughter at school. However its always got a cash machine or two down. Maybe its just me, but this is what I despise about Arco... having to hunt down the open island or being forced to go talk to some disinterested clerk who can not speak passable english most of the time. No stars if possible. I come here all the time because it's down the street from my house. I've never had an issue until today. I picked unleaded and the premium started pumping. I didn't notice the premium was lit up until $20 in. I stopped the pump, printed my receipt as evidence for the cashier inside. I went inside and told the "attendant" Carla what happened. She said I probably made a mistake and I told her she could check the camera because I didn't. Now ask anybody, I'm polite AF. Especially to people in customer service. I wasn't rude at all to this lady. But for some reason She felt like she needed to be rude to me, give me a face like I was lying or pretty dumb and told me that she was too busy to help me even though all she was doing was opening boxes of candy at the counter. This problem could have been solved easy but this is what happens when you hire people who don't care about your business. You lose customers. read more

I've been driving 9 hours. Maybe I don't look like much. Maybe that's why the snotty attendance clerk doesn't say hello, but looks over my head insolently when I greet him; in the background, his snarling chola coworker glowers directly into my eyes as if I'd freshly awakened some past-life vendetta between us, in which we are reincarnated time and time again according to an ancient Egyptian curse, always battling to the death. I provide my card to pay for ~$10 worth of items, and the man snaps with great annoyance (I assure you, I'm not being hypersensitive), "No credit," then cracks his gum loudly as if to emphasize this. I look around the register, the walls, the doors - it isn't posted anywhere, yet his tone suggests that I ought to have known. So, fortunately, I have sufficient cash & pay for the items. Then I ask in a clear, audible manner, "Is there a key to the bathroom?" In response, the cashier doesn't look in my direction, waves me aside, waves the man behind me up to the counter. He seems to be markedly more polite to this older man, so I begin to take his behavior a bit personally. "Is there a key to the bathroom?" He raises his eyebrows and says in a catty, strangely queeny way, "Yes," but offers no key, no gesture to indicate where this key might be placed. So I look around and come up emptyhanded. "Do you have it?" "No," he replies flatly, again without making eye contact. Throughout this entire exchange, the surly wannabe chola is mad dogging me, wishing she was this pretty. I notice that her eyebrows are painted on unevenly and maybe that is making her face look angrier than it is. No, no, no...she definitely loathes me for some unfathomable reason. But her lingering hateful leer is interrupted momentarily by a little homeless man who totters in to hand her the bathroom key, thereby abrogating my next question - just in time, too, before I earned the semi-cruel alliterative nickname Inquisitive Ignatius. "Is that the bathroom key?" I ask, as she's inexplicably putting the key away under the counter, although she has been privy to the entire conversation revolving around my desire to acquire the key. Her only response, oddly enough, is to raise one uneven eyebrow and stare daggers out of her swollen pock-marked face. I'm driven to hate this woman, obstinately wedging herself between me and civilized facilities, and I now know what primal conflict feels like, as if I were Hemmingway wrestling a grizzly bear. "May I have it?!" I asked, with far too much restraint. But it would have been pathetic to display the extent of my annoyance without the energy to carry out the destructive, fire-setting brawl I felt the situation warranted. I had another 6 hours of driving ahead of me, and no Pasadena Jerry Springer cat fight ought to stand between me and San Francisco. In the filthy, leaking bathroom there was no soap, which tells me that these employees were slovenly swine as well, who didn't care to wash their money-grubbed hands. I hope their failure as evolved humans keeps them up at night. But they'll probably already be up all night as a consequence of their shared meth habit. read more
