    It's a wet morning

Open 24 hours conveniently located on Lake Ave south of the 210 freeway and north of Colorado blvd. It's definitely a life saver when you're running on empty and don't have to travel too far from your nearest exit. Large ample space in between several gas pumps directly underneath a well lit ceiling soffit with bright fluorescent lighting well enough to give you a moon tan LOL. Each island has trashcans, paper towels and squeegee with debit/credit card reader. No mechanical services at this location, only a walk up one person Kiosk structure selling limited items along with a vending machine. Air and water available for a nominal fee but we all know through our gracious state of California, ask for free services and they'll be happy to bypass and activate air compressor and water. Aside from your typical filling station, you do get to park on top of a nice brick weave pattern floor which gives it character with that reminiscent old California Spanish décor you see along Orange Grove and Prospect as you approach Arroyo Seco PKWY 110 south. 3rd party ATM machine if you're seriously seeking fast money. I have no idea why anyone would even entertain paying a % fee for usage. The mind boggles : / Pura vida :)^

I just tried to add over 8 gallons to my car and my car needle is still at empty. When I expressed my concerns with the employees they started laughing and said this had never happened. I told them it had never happened to me but it was odd since I just spent $34. They said the pump was fine and said to wait five minutes. I waited and nothing. Then they said to drive around because my needle was probably messed up. My son is late to swim class because of this and they didn't even treat the situation with concern. On the contrary they treated me horribly by yelling out take pictures of her license plate and the car at the pump. I was so embarrassed. Literally never felt so humiliated. I have her voice recording too.smh!!

Yes it's a gas station, but it was one I needed to use to refill my low tire. $1 gets you enough air to refill one very low, slow leak tire.

Sure enough... my gas gauge was blinking upon leaving my workout location LOL. I had to quickly find a gas station. Well, the nearest gas station was at least 5 minutes from where I was at. It was between Chevron or Shell. Guess who won? You got it... Shell! Funny, as I was driving to Shell, I saw Chevron, but it was on the other side of the street that I was driving on so I said I'll just stick with Shell. Great corner location on Del Mar Blvd and Arroyo Parkway. Clean exterior. Prices were several cents cheaper than Chevron... yay! They also have a food mart, but I didn't go in. I prefer to pay at the pump unless I really need to go inside. If they run out of paper, I just make myself a note on gas cost and be on my way and not bother going inside to get receipt. Anyway, thanks Shell for being present when I needed you most!

Honestly I stopped by to see if there were restrooms available (obviously I would've bought…read moresomething if so) but the guy said no. Now I'm looking at the reviews and it says yes. That was a bad enough experience that I'll not fill gas up here again like I do in the mornings or evenings before or after work. TBH the prices are pretty high compared to even chevron down the street. (Yes it was that serious). EDIT: Shibli, thank you for your response; however, as a business/franchise owner you should ensure that ALL platforms reflect the correct information especially if this has been unavailable for 5+ years -- you've had plenty of time to correct this information. As for the Chevron comment, this is my observation and was took my business there as of this morning. Thank you. These small things make the difference on whether someone will use your service moving forward.

I went in, mostly just for contact solution, but as I always end up doing when I'm in the CVS, I definitely roamed the aisles and ended up with way more than I bargained for! For one thing, and this is mostly across all CVS locations, I love the store. Some of their things can be expensive, but I live walking to a different location, and I find that when you're a consistent shopper, there are always an abundance of coupons and opportunities to save some dollars. And the convenience is worth it to me. For example, tonight my total was about $64 or so. By the time I had added all of my coupons and signed up for their monthly program, I paid less than $40. Sami helped me out and he was so lovely and kind! He helped me reactivate my ExtraCare membership. I ran in quickly initially without my card since they take Apple Pay, but I needed the physical card to activate my membership. It was truly no issue to run out for my card but he profusely apologized for the inconvenience. Sami was just so friendly and kept up the good natured conversation during our whole interaction whilst still maintaining good efficiency. Overall I left in the least amount of time but feeling completely taken care of. I feel like this is kind of across all locations, but specifically this store did not feel super well stocked. I don't really think that's their fault though. That kind of seems to be the model across most locations. But I will say this specific CVS had a lot more buttons around the store to call the staff since a lot of items are locked up now. My usual CVS definitely doesn't have as many as it needs and it can feel frustrating trying to get help. I needed something today and found an accessible button, and a staff member came very quickly to assist me. Overall, a 10 out of 10, and next time I'm in the area I would definitely stop back here again!

This was so impressive. In this day and age it's not often I come across someone going over and beyond. I called and a really nice guy answered and confirmed they had the ice. I asked if he could hold it for me. He advised me that they don't do that but if I came right away it should be fine. I was at the Arroyo TJ's so I quickly headed their way. I was so surprised to see Joe's Ice! It's really cute snd charming! My first impression is that's it's a drive by liquor store. Looked like lots of beer was being sold. The guys worked efficiently and everyone was friendly. I got in line and hit my dry ice. Minimum purchase us 5# fir $13.50. Joe's Ice is my go to place for dry ice! Thanks guys! You are all adorable !

Found this place through Yelp when I was looking for a place to get dry ice for a Halloween Party…read more It's a very small shop, but easy in and easy out!! I loved it!! It's a drive though ice place, yes you read correct, a drive through ice place. There's 2 lines, one on each side of your car. You pull up and the worker asks what you need. I said I needed dry ice. Minimum purchase for dry ice is 5 lbs which will cost you $7.50. I got 5 lbs of dry ice. He put it in a cardboard box because it's really cold and loaded it into my trunk. I paid the worker and he ran back with the change and we were out in less than 5 minutes!! I loved this concept and the no real waiting, There were a few cars in front of us, as it was Halloween, so I'm sure they can get busy. However, with 2 lines full, we were still able to get in and out very quickly!! It's located right at the cross section of Orange Grove. You can bet I will be coming back here for more dry ice again!! The dry ice is in blocks, so you might have to break it some more when you get home, but be careful when you do as you can get a freeze burn from the dry ice. I broke it outside in the box with a towel over the ice so it wouldn't get all over the place. They also sell regular ice, but I don't know how much that is.
