Garo was at 3.63 and this Arco was at 3.55. The location rocks, because I live a mile south of here. I'm in and out, just like sex. The bummer, when I went yesterday for a fill-up, 3 of their pumps were out of order. I had to bust some moves, and I was out of there real quick. There's also a smog only test center on the grounds. I had an old car smogged here long ago. It was quick and easy too.

So I pay, and go to the pump and the pump is telling me to go back to the window for a refund. I go back to the window, but the attendant is not there. He said the garage so I said "hey bro what's up with my gas?" And he YELLED back "I put it, you're probably not doing it right." it did end up being on his end. I'm in my early 30s and look like I could be younger, but that was NO way to treat a customer. Whether it's a woman, man, young, or not so young. It's 2026. We don't treat people like that anymore.

This week when the jackpot got up to 1.8 million dollars, lil ol' me trekked out to Altadena from Koreatown to see what magic this shop had. Listen, I'll kill the suspense right now and tell you here I am writing this Yelp review, working for Yelp and you're reading this...so a billionaire I am not. But I won $4! ...on a $20 ticket...BUT ANYWAYS~~~ It really was a cute and fun experience. I waited in the line, and a few news channels were there recording segments. Grandpa Joe himself was there with his family around him taking photos, as well. It was absolutely packed and felt like PowerBall Disneyland. I don't play the lotto much, but they say there's something magical at Joe's. Give it a go and don't forget me when you're diving into your riches like Scrooge McDuck~!

The last time I went by there it was under construction in January 2026. Hopefully when the repairs are made, they won't have these problems anymore.

The first time we went the owner refused to let us in and did not want to unlock the door. He blamed the door being locked on "homeless people near by " but there was absolutely no one there NOR at the gas station in general. He finally let us in but was staring at the camera the entire time as if we were going to steal. The second time and last time we went, the owner was in the back eating and we had to knock on the window to get his attention due to the door being locked but the sign said that it was opened. This time he refused to let us in and said the reason was because the last time we came we only purchased one item. (We got 3 things) we were slightly irritated so we just decided to walk back to the car since it was late. Immediately after we closed our car door, he let in a customer that also had to tap on the glass to get his attention but yet still refused to let us in because of the little amount of things we previously purchased. Overall the owner is extremely rude and the door is always locked even though the sign says open. I would recommend getting your gas from another shell.

Last time even Andres spent a decent amount of time explaining how things work to me under the hood, where all my various fluids go, and just a general amount of things that I am ignorant of with cars. Then Jack talked to me for quite awhile about the new car I'm thinking of getting, and told me a bunch of useful things about how to pick them and some info I didn't know. Sure enough... my gas gauge was blinking upon leaving my workout location LOL. I had to quickly find a gas station. Well, the nearest gas station was at least 5 minutes from where I was at. Funny, as I was driving to Shell, I saw Chevron, but it was on the other side of the street that I was driving on so I said I'll just stick with Shell. Great corner location on Del Mar Blvd and Arroyo Parkway. Clean exterior. Prices were several cents cheaper than Chevron... yay! They also have a food mart, but I didn't go in. I prefer to pay at the pump unless I really need to go inside. If they run out of paper, I just make myself a note on gas cost and be on my way and not bother going inside to get receipt.
