This week when the jackpot got up to 1.8 million dollars, lil ol' me trekked out to Altadena from Koreatown to see what magic this shop had. Listen, I'll kill the suspense right now and tell you here I am writing this Yelp review, working for Yelp and you're reading this...so a billionaire I am not. But I won $4! ...on a $20 ticket...BUT ANYWAYS~~~ It really was a cute and fun experience. I waited in the line, and a few news channels were there recording segments. Grandpa Joe himself was there with his family around him taking photos, as well. It was absolutely packed and felt like PowerBall Disneyland. I don't play the lotto much, but they say there's something magical at Joe's. Give it a go and don't forget me when you're diving into your riches like Scrooge McDuck~!

The owner and his son that work there are always very polite when I go in. The only problems I have…read morehad with this station are one time someone skim my debit card after I had pumped gas there, and drained the money out. Luckily it was restored after a fraud investigation. The other problem I have here is the pumps are difficult to use sometimes, and they tend to pop off while you're pumping your gas. The last time I went by there it was under construction in January 2026. Hopefully when the repairs are made, they won't have these problems anymore.

There's an ARCO gas station just across the street and gas here is $0.50+ more expensive than the ARCO gas station, but many visitors come here to pay homage and buy few Lottery tickets to see if lightning can strike twice. He blamed the door being locked on "homeless people near by " but there was absolutely no one there NOR at the gas station in general. He finally let us in but was staring at the camera the entire time as if we were going to steal. This time he refused to let us in and said the reason was because the last time we came we only purchased one item. Immediately after we closed our car door, he let in a customer that also had to tap on the glass to get his attention but yet still refused to let us in because of the little amount of things we previously purchased. Sure enough... my gas gauge was blinking upon leaving my workout location LOL. I had to quickly find a gas station. Well, the nearest gas station was at least 5 minutes from where I was at. It was between Chevron or Shell. Guess who won? You got it... Shell! Funny, as I was driving to Shell, I saw Chevron, but it was on the other side of the street that I was driving on so I said I'll just stick with Shell. Great corner location on Del Mar Blvd and Arroyo Parkway. Clean exterior. Prices were several cents cheaper than Chevron... yay! They also have a food mart, but I didn't go in. I prefer to pay at the pump unless I really need to go inside. If they run out of paper, I just make myself a note on gas cost and be on my way and not bother going inside to get receipt. Very convenient gas station located in the middle of Pasadena and fairly close to the very busy 210…read morefreeway. Gas prices are higher than at other gas stations, but not by much. The one thing I didn't like was the aggressive panhandlers asking for money while I was pumping gas. My head was on a swivel the entire time as I had three panhandlers approach me during my brief visit, asking for change. They may not mean harm, but one never knows. This is no fault of the gas station, but it did make my visit a negative experience for my family and me.
