We were in Moab with a tour group and this was right across the street from the hotel. Didn't know what to expect but the last thing I did expect was a wait queue at 6pm! And, you wait outside. We decided to stick around and were glad that we did. The wait gaggle was congenial and we learned a bit about Moab, Utah and and drought concerns on the Colorado.... And we got great input on the restaurant. We ordered spring rolls and, of course, Pad Thai.... Really good and worth the wait. Can't go wrong with a good Singha to wash it down.. Only downside was the heat level, 1-5 was achieved by dumping more dried red pepper on top of the dish. The green curry fell a bit short on flavor - think that it would be better to have a bit more acidity in the balance of flavor. I really liked the ground chicken salad that my fiancé ordered. Spicy, brightly flavored. All of the dishes have big portions - great for sharing. Ordered the Pad Thai to be safe and thought it was ok. The wait between ordering our food and receiving our food was close to an hour. However, their service was very friendly and attentive. In terms of food, the Pad Thai was on the salty side with a strong taste of tomato. If I had to guess, they used ketchup with the Pad Thai sauce. Overall not a horrible place to eat. This place is awesome!!! Arrived here at 7:30PM and there are 4-5 groups ahead of us. Was notified the waiting time would be 15 minutes. I was a little skeptical at the beginning but wow EVERYONE serving in the restaurant is running and got our table soon. Food was simply AMAZING! Big portions and great taste. Highly recommend Thai Toast, very unique and delicious. Due to the business everyone was running so sometimes it's hard to get fully serviced, but everyone does work very hard here and when they greet us, it was very polite and nice. Arches is definitely not perfect but it serves tasty Thai food that pretty much makes up for their flaws. After a long day of hiking, my friend and I were hungry and were anxious for Asian food. Given its good reviews on Yelp, Arches Thai was an easy choice. Although not directly on the main street in downtown Moab, it is only about a block away so definitely a reasonable choice if you are looking for something local. Here are some of the food items we had: Paradise Thai Curry ($20)- A little pricey but was a solid curry dish. While most of the ingredients are pretty standard to most, what they added was lychee! This sweet addition to creamy spiciness of the red curry was a surprisingly unique addition. My only drawbacks for the dish is the price. Yes you do get good amount of chicken and shrimp, but it is a little steep considering the size is not that much. Pineapple Fried Rice (w meat- $13.95 ) - Again a little pricey, but the product is probably one of the best I have I had. With nice sized chunks of sweet pineapple and nutty creaminess of cashews to help balance the saltiness of the fried rice, I thoroughly enjoyed this dish. As I mentioned, the price seemed a little steep compared to what I am used to, but there is not much else to compete. Another downside when I went was the poor disorganization that I hope was just due to an off night. There was no greeter and the line of people waiting were visibly upset. The place is pretty small so there was limited seating available. However, once we were seated, service was very good and attentive. In terms of parking, there is some available on the street. Overall, Arches Thai provides quality Asian food but at a price. read more

Tucked away in a quiet street, away from all the hustle in Moab, Arches Thai is hard to spot if you're walking along the main road. But that happens to be the best part of this restaurant. Since it's further away from the Main Street, arches thai has the luxury of a very expansive space for indoor dining and a gorgeous patio. We got into arches thai at about 11:45 am and got seated promptly. The vast space for indoor dining has allowed them to socially distanced all their tables. We were seated in a nook and the ambience was great !! We got the Thai red curry and the drunken noodle. The portion sizes were big and the food tasted absolutely delicious. The drunken noodle was slightly less spicy for my taste but nothing that cannot be fixed by asking for a side of their chili oil. The red curry was spot-on. They have plenty of vegetarian and vegan options and are also accommodative of other dietary restrictions. The best part of our experience was that our food was prepared fresh and came out piping-hot. There were no delays in getting the food out and the staff at the restaurant were super-polite and friendly. Will definitely be coming back to arches thai the next time I'm in Moab and will also be recommending this place to anyone visiting Moab. read more

Came here our first night in Moab. We were seated right away with no waiting. Everyone loved their food. I had the jungle curry, and was warned that it would be spicy and was not coconut milk based. It was spicy, but not ridiculously so. The veggies were all fresh and cooked perfectly. It was delicious! Our picky eater opted for the mango curry and was told it was mildly spicy. She was glad she ordered it even though she usually shies away from spice. (Our local Thai standby in Ohio let's you pick a spice level with each dish... We enjoyed the food, but sadly the service was all but non-existent. If you like to wait a very long time for some decent Thai/Vietnamese food, then this is your kinda place! We walked in at about 630pm, about 10 other people standing around. No one acknowledge us. I noticed an elderly couple who had a buzzer, so I went to ask for one. Other people waiting noticed and were upset no one had even offered them a buzzer. They walked out. We waited less than 10 minutes to be seated (even though there were free tables when we walked in, but no one had time to clear them). For the next 10 minutes, we were completely ignored. No one taking drink or food orders. They were all too busy clearing and cleaning tables. Then I noticed a table that was seated after us, getting their order taken AND the elderly couple also still waiting on service, so I complained. I felt so bad for them since they had waited forever. Luckily the waitress acknowledged the mistake and made sure the couple's food would come out first. During our meal, no one came to check in on us. No one asked if we wanted our drinks replenished. Eventually asked for a box and the check ourselves. Although we felt that the food was definitely up to standard and meeting our expectations, the service definitely did not. TLDR: Decent place, but probably wouldn't return. We had a group of five that visited Arches Thai on a Wednesday evening for dinner. The restaurant was busy and we had about a 20 minute wait. The waiting area is outdoors so that could be an issue depending on the weather. Our group had a variety of soups, curries and entrees. The food was solid, probably around 3.5 stars. The Tom Kha soup and Pineapple Curry were favorites. Unfortunately, the service was around 2 stars. The servers were nice, but there were only two servers for the whole restaurant and they were busy. One of our entrees was ordered incorrectly. We asked for the garlic-black pepper dish and the server ordered Thai pepper steak. Once our food was delivered, our original server never returned. One entree wasn't delivered with the associated steamed rice and after being out of water for 10 minutes we had to stand up and flag down a server to get the rice delivered and water refilled. Overall the visit was just ok. Even if the restaurant wasn't busy, the food wasn't memorable enough to compel a return since there are a lot of great options in Moab. read more

I ordered online for takeout and this allows customizing the spice level in each dish. I think I would interpret 1 star as "normal spice" anything more starts to add some heat. After traveling through Utah all week and eating primarily Mexican food in the small towns along the way, a Thai restaurant was a much-needed change, and I'm so glad Arches was there for that change! The smell is incredible as soon as you walk in the door, and not a single customer's plate looked unappetizing. I ordered Garlic & Pepper stir fry with chicken, while my family ordered curries, fried rice, and other stir frys. Like any Thai food, nearly every item was available gluten free and vegetarian. The portions were huge and the food was all excellent. Although I didn't pay (perks of traveling with family, amiright?), the prices seemed very fair for the amount of food we received. The only reasons for 4 stars and not 5 are that my meal was not spicy even though I ordered it medium-hot. However, everyone else at the table ordered medium and theirs was very spicy. Must have just been my dish, and I was able to add more chili sauce, so that was okay. Second, some of the entrees came out before the others, leaving people at the table sitting and watching the rest of us eat. Good to know that our food was not sitting under heat lamps, but a little odd. Still, neither of those things are reasons not to come here! Omg. I can't say enough how much I love this place. The second I tasted the Panang curry, it remained me of my favorite Thai restaurant in Bangkok. I have lived in the U.S. for 5 years and have traveled across the states every summer. This is the only restaurant that makes good curry. The tests are so authentic.
