My wife and I stopped in on our from visiting our son in Durango to our home in the greater Boise, ID, area. I chose it based on the good reviews. The restaurant is located right on the main drag of Moab. It is next to a hotel. The curb appeal is definitely of a family diner. It is very popular. On a Monday morning, it was very crowded. The parking lot isn't that big but there is additional parking on the street. When you enter, there is a room on the right and another on the left. The vibe is southwest. Despite being crowded, we were sat right away an at a table by the window, no less. Our server was a nice young woman; I'm sorry, I didn't get her name. She did an excellent job of taking care of us. My wife had a standard breakfast of eggs, bacon, and hash browns. I had a breakfast bowl, a unique blend of eggs, meat, hash browns, and spinach. Very flavorful and with good texture. We would definitely consider making this a regular stop on our future trips to see our son. read more

Food was dreadful. Dry chicken, canned gravy, wilted salad, soggy tacos. Blech. Service and atmosphere were fine, though. read more

Heard a server say it wasn't that busy and we were seated right away. Juniper was our server and she was polite and professional. We both had The Standard breakfast - 2 eggs, choice of meat, hash browns and toast or pancakes. It was a solid choice as the preparation of the meals were good. The bacon not overcooked and my eggs done just right. The toast also had butter on it and I liked how it was nicely melted on the bread. Well lit restaurant and clean. Good breakfast stop. And it was nice to walk to the restaurant and back to our hotel. read more

There was a line when we got here at 9:30 on a Sunday morning, but it went fast. Clearly, a popular spot for breakfast. The menu is fantastic-so many options. We got the AM Tacos (with bacon) and the Southwest Bowl (with fried chicken) and an order of Mini-Jacks. The tacos were so good! I asked for a side of green chile sauce and that made them next level. We don't recommend getting fried chicken on the SW Bowl. The bowl was great, but the chicken was only okay. A little tough and chewy and probably not the best choice for that meal. The mini jacks were the star of the show! Fluffy, light, with a hint of sweetness and served with a huge dollop of soft butter. The restaurant was busy, but our service was great and it was a relaxed vibe. Lots of folks looked like they were heading out or getting back from outdoor activities. read more

Stopped by during a road trip and glad we did! The ambiance was great, lots of people were there and it came highly recommended by some people we came across during a stop. Service was very attentive. The food was delicious. I don't think you can go wrong with anything, but I particularly enjoyed their western-ish omelet. read more

This is one of the breakfast locations in Moab that is rated highly so we came here around 8:30am on a Wednesday. There are 2 dining areas inside - head over to the hostess stand and get your name added to the list on their automated system. You will be texted when your seat is ready and you can watch your status as you wait thru the url texted to you when you first check in. I loved knowing where we were in line at any time - very efficient. We were seated in 6 minutes and our server greeted us shortly after. We ordered regular coffee, the Cinnamon Roll (it's huge) and the Waffle meal which included eggs and bacon and we added fruit. The coffees came right away followed by the cinnamon roll. We had a few minutes to enjoy that when our breakfast arrived. Everything tasted great! The cinnamon roll did not have frosting on it but that was okay because there was a lot of cinnamon sugar in its layers. The waffles are not real Belgian but they were fresh, light, and fluffy. The bacon is super thick - very tasty. The restaurant decor looks fairly recent and the vibe is casual and laid back. Come as you are and enjoy a great breakfast! read more

We came here for breakfast towards the end of our trip, and the menu, first off, had something for everyone with a Mexican influence. We sat at this huge table in the middle, with cactus and succulents and southwest decor about the walls. Not overdone, very desert themed (of course). My wife ordered an omelette and my daughter some pancakes. I went with a biscuit that was huge - friend chicken, bacon, over easy egg, gravy, grilled jalapeños. Hit the spot, it was incredible and everything my breakfast had been missing the previous 43 years of life. Our server was Alyssa, or Alissa - the name was the same both days but spelled differently and 2 different people. Yes, it was so good and fresh and service amazing we went back a second time! I tried a different biscuit, and then and there decided I did not want to ever visit Moab and not eat here. We waited the second time to get a seat, didn't even care. Both servers were amazing, unfortunately I did NOT write their names down and I'm writing a review from a year ago, but the truly had the same name, just different spelling. In fact, our server from our first visit was there with her family as a customer when we were there the second time! As someone who spent my careers in restaurants, that is not only a testament to the quality of the food but also the culture of the establishment: you can't put a price on that. I can't wait to go back! read more

The line is long but it moves quickly. Lunch is served all day, I ordered a Cobb salad however their veggies aren't that fresh. A few slices of their cucumbers look spoiled and there was a wrinkly tomato. Must try their bacon . My waitress said they are sourced from a local market at Salt Lake City. It's thick and has good fat to meat ratio. Service is great, their parking lot is small but plenty of street parking. read more

This place is popular and busy, and there's a reason why, it's delicious!! There's not many breakfast places in Moab, and I'm so happy we stopped by! Everyone loved what they ordered! Huevos rancheros with chicken fried steak, it's a crazy combo, but my son loved it! The southwest bowl add chorizo, so much flavor, and the perfect portion size! So good! Biscuits and gravy - flaky biscuit, yummy gravy, very well done. Flapjack breakfast was perfection, fluffy pancakes, perfectly cooked bacon, the only complaint was the scrambled eggs, they were slightly rubbery, like they came out of a carton. Overall, we will eat here whenever we're in Moab! read more

We got three breakfasts at Cactus Jacks. Unfortunately, all of them were cold and dry. The eggs were fine but it felt like it was good way before we ordered it. I liked the bacon most out of everything because it felt like it was the only freshly made item. The vibe is nice and the decor is cool. We also got a hot mocha with the breakfast which was great! I would not go there for a full breakfast. Maybe just coffee and a snack for me. read more

This place was recommended to us by our BASE jumping guide (shoutout to Matt with Tandem BASE Moab) and it did not disappoint. The portions are so generous and everything was reasonably priced -- not to mention, everything was delicious. Earl is right. This was our second time here and we're so glad we stopped in again! Service is sooo fast and friendly both times. Food portions are outstanding for the price. The menu has a great selection and is executed well. Hash browns are perfectly crispy but not overdone. Pancakes have the perfect hint of sweetness. A friend and I stopped here for breakfast/brunch on our return from watching the sunrise at Arches. It was only 10:30 but we'd been awake since 4'ish and I was in need of food and caffeine. We were seated right away and our server was wonderful. I opted for B&G's while my friend ordered tacos. Both huge portions and delicious. I ordered fresh jalapeños and was given a grilled or fried one too (surprisingly not spicy - almost sweet and so good). The coffee was so good. Sofa king good. Perfect experience. OH, and we split a cinnamon roll that was the size of our heads. They're open every dang day according to the sign and if I was local, this would be a go-to for me! read more

The menu has everything, the food is great and service is outstanding. Great breakfast and lunch options with generous portions.

You know when you crave brunch, this is what you want and need. Sounds like locals prefer this spot over other locations closer to the center of Main St. I started my meal here solo but was later joined by a friend. Everything I ordered was great and not greasy. I took the ravioli to-go since I was so full. Wish I could've had a second meal here. read more

Came here for breakfast and got the chicken and waffles and veggie omelet with hash browns and toast. I asked for the hash browns to be a little crispy and they came out perfect. The omelette portion size was pretty small and to be honest, it was also bland. They forgot my toast and the waitress didn't check in much so I had to wait a while to get my toast. When I did get it, it came pre-buttered which I wish it didn't. The chicken and waffles were overall pretty tasty and a good portion size. Not sure if I'll be back here. read more

We had a bit of a wait (we had a large party and came during peak brunch time on Father's Day) but it was worth the wait! Our server was very friendly, helpful, and efficient. This was the best post-hike meal! We had the wings (crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside), the Hot Mess fries, and the grilled pineapple to start out. The AM tacos with sausage and avocado on corn tortillas absolutely slapped. Definitely recommend a visit here for breakfast or lunch when in Moab! read more

Enjoyed breakfast here twice this week! They have flavored creamers on the table which is all I needed to satisfy my coffee needs. The omelette came with lots of feta on top which I think added a whole new dimension of flavor. Flapjacks tasted great and service was top notch. We loved this place! We were seated right away and our food came out quicker than expected being it was pretty packed in there with groups that day. Our server Evelyn was exceptional with not only us, but everyone I saw her help. The food was amazing, we kept talking about it afterward. It's a brunch spot and they close at 2pm so glad we stopped there for some great food before we left town. I'll tell you that after a good hike, this hit the spot. We had the Big Biscuit Plate and The Philly Cheese Steak, we decided to get one breakfast meal and one lunch and it sure didn't disappoint! Before a day of hiking Canyonlands we had breakfast at Cactus Jacks Moab. Adjacent to the former Ramada Inn and across the street from Moab's best climber bar, Woody's, Cactus Jacks has a versatile menu of breakfast standards that are well executed. Great portions, friendly service, and exceptional value. We wished we could have tried the Bloodies - they looked fabulous - but we figured that wouldn't work with hiking in 98' heat! read more

Before leaving Moab for more adventures across Utah, the Fat Man and his wife stopped for breakfast at Cactus Jacks Moab. Cactus Jacks is an easygoing all-day operation spotlighting traditional comfort food, from pancakes to steaks. I wanted to try Fry Bread, a native American dish. The bread was a little dense, with some sweetness from the bread and the powdered sugar, while being airy and having a good chew. I could taste the oil, but it was not overwhelming. The texture was unique, like a combined funnel cake and pita bread. My wife tried the French Toast Breakfast with scrambled eggs and sausage links. The eggs were fluffy and cooked well. The sausage had an excellent salt level and a great snap in the casing. The Texas toast was coated in crushed Frosted Flakes and fried to a great golden brown with a good sweetness and texture. It offered a good chew and flavor. The syrup was out of a bottle. I had the Green-Chili-Quiles made with tortilla chips, green chili, two over-easy eggs, lime crema, pico, queso fresco, and chorizo. The tortilla chips tasted like they were made in-house, with good crunch, texture, and puffiness. The egg is perfect over easy, with great yolk for creaminess and texture. The chorizo had a good flavor with subtle heat. The pico added some freshness to the dish, while the crema had a cooling effect. The queso adds some salty flavor to the dish. The green chili is coated well on the chips, with good flavor and minimal heat. The problem that I had with the dish was that it was cold. The eggs give it some warmth, but overall, the entire dish was cold, as if it had sat waiting for the other items of the order. This made it very hard for me to eat and enjoy what could have been a great dish. Cactus Jacks offers several options with breakfast plates, omelets, griddle options, salads, and a full lunch menu. They have a full bar, draft and canned beer, and soda and coffee options. The wait staff was excellent and helpful. The Fat Man says Cactus Jacks Moab is Fat Man Approved with 1 chin. read more
