This is long and I provided the Hotel direct feedback for this review so stick with me. I booked this hotel with the highest room category to treat my wife for her birthday. The room was very nice and the hotel is clean. We stayed on a Sunday-Monday in June so we expected some Summer atmosphere at the pool. There was no bartender and ordering drinks to the pool involved scanning a menu and calling it in like room service. Armando then brought it out and was nice enough. Due to that, they were up charging and taxing each drink. So a $16 margarita was $26 due to room service fees etc. There was only one other couple there and we found the pool to be very boring. It's small and a few more people overwhelms the space. After our stay, I reached out because, besides the two drinks we each ordered, there were unrecognized charges to our room in excess. The hotel took care of them and even removed the uncharged room service delivered drinks which was nice. I got a survey and sent some feedback about some loose tiles and the drink/pool experience and I got a nice offer from an Assistant Manager explaining the pool area and offering us to come back. I took him up two weeks later this time on a Saturday and it was much more lively and busy at the pool. Kids, families, couples all mixed together jockeying for seats. This time they had a bartender who did an awesome job with the extreme demand of everyone but no other service but that. A few guys in suits (managers) came out to watch him work but that was it. The room again was immaculate and enjoyed as well as that manager sending a nice cheese plate and prosecco. Upon checking out the next morning I once again had erroneous charges to the room. (I think they charged me for the provided cheese plate etc). Once again I contacted and they removed them. Once again I took a survey and said this hotel needs to get its accounting right as soon as possible. They had fixed some prior survey issues around the pool which is great so hopefully they respond to the double instance of phantom charges again and get it fixed for all guests. read more

Came here for a reception/event. The Archer provided drinks via a bar station, and small plates via a well-attended food station. From really, really, really crispy and garlicky fries to crabcakes, meatballs, shrimp ceviche tostadas and more, the event space, catering and bar were perfect for the 100 or so people at our event. I went there for breakfast with my work friends. There were no other customers (literally) and it also makes sense, because it is a 4-star hotel plus it was a random Wednesday. We made a reservation for 14 people and were able to have comfortable seating. The price of the food looked very reasonable. Some good options available. The waiter was friendly. I got the Sunrise Bowl. It had poached eggs and chicken sausage. The poached eggs were heavenly and made to perfection. I usually don't like chicken sausage but this one was good. The meal was very bland, but it wasn't bad. Also got cappucino, which was alright. Nothing extra-ordinary. Be wary of nearby parking. They only had 1-hr parking spots available. read more

The check in was very straightforward at the front desk. The room was nice and clean. They also provided Fuji water and Caramels as a welcome to Austin! Getting ready for bed, my partner realized his electric toothbrush was missing the toothbrush head!! Oh no! He called the front desk and one arrived at our door within minutes. Amazingly quick service at 11pm. The domain area is a great place to stay if you want to have bars, restaurants, and shopping within walking distance. The Archer has a dedicated area for parking which is extremely convenient to not have to search for street parking. If you're here in Austin on a business trip, the hotel bar opens at 6:30 AM for breakfast which is helpful when you have morning meetings to get to. read more

Our annual company holiday party was hosted at the Archer Hotel this year and we had a blast! Plenty of covered parking if you're willing to walk a little bit, so you don't have to use their valet, and the interior of the hotel is really beautiful. We were set up in a ballroom on the second floor with access to the terrace, and the weather was perfect to be outdoors for a bit as the sun was setting. The food was really great too, which is not something I can say for all hotel catering services. My favorites of the evening were the shrimp tarts that were part of the passed appetizers before the buffet-style dinner, as well as the shrimp kebabs (shrimp weren't overcooked!), the garlic mashed potatoes (super garlicky, which I love), the beef tenderloin (cooked a perfect rare and so tender), and the butternut squash soup. My husband also highly enjoyed the fresh wedge salad with blue cheese dressing. We didn't stay the night here, but the experience we had was amazing, so I can imagine the accommodations are equally delightful. read more

We had the perfect staycation weekend at the Archer Hotel in Austin and are already talking about coming back again! From the moment we checked in, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome - especially Julian, who went above and beyond to make sure everything was seamless and special. It's rare to come across service that feels that personal and effortless. Our room (the Den with a balcony) was a highlight in itself. The space was cozy but elevated, and the balcony views overlooking The Domain made it the perfect spot for morning coffee and evening wind-downs. It really gave the whole stay that "escape without leaving the city" vibe. One of the best parts of staying here is the location. You can step right outside and be surrounded by incredible restaurants, shops, and things to do. We loved not having to drive anywhere and just exploring everything on foot. Well... we've stayed here multiple times, but this review is based off ONE WOMAN.. VICTORIA, I wanted to take a picture like I always have on the stair case and by the sign upstairs. She got upset that I didn't notice the barely noticeable sign that said there was an event, she chased me upstairs like I was a criminal and told me I couldn't be there... I just wanted one picture on my anniversary on the beautiful staircase. And.... NO HOT water the entire 1.5 hours prior to our dinner? What happened Archer hotel? We are so disappointed... it's not like we're staying in a basic room. We have stayed here before and it's very saddening... no hot water and a woman who chases you like a criminal because you want ONE PHOTO. read more

We came here on a mom and kids getaway weekend and we had a great time. First the location of the hotel is in the domain which is literally steps away from around. Surrounded by so many places. The rooms are amazing. We had two rooms, a double queen and a double king. Each room comes with fridge, robes, house shoes, wine cups and more. For cleanliness I give it a 8/10 . But over all this hotel is literally one of the best ever. The rooftop pool was very nice. There is a bar there, cabanas, towels, free flavor waters, sunblock and shaded areas. The onky con thatbi could find was that the rooms didn't have USB plugs but that's not a big deal. The food in the restaurant was amazing. We ate there for brwaklunch and dinner and was never disappointed. I normally don't care to eat hotel food but this restaurant was great. Service was amazing. This hotel was promising, but what's a promise without actual substance. I stayed here for a single night on my way home from a travel week for work. The king bed room is tiny, there was no space to fold out my luggage without blocking a walk way, the finesses were nice, at one point, the wood was scuffed doors were squeaky, tv was old and pixelated and constantly froze. The valet service was abysmal, I expected expensive parking given the status of the hotel, but the service was awful, I was called bro, homie, by Aiden and another attendant with very thick glasses, had to ask for my claim ticket, remind attendants of getting a proper damage survey of my truck, all the while a team lead stood awkwardly avoiding eye contact--the only properly professional attendant was the overnight guy who got my phone from my truck for me. The attendants left my truck unlocked, windows down in a back street next to the hotel with the key on the dash, Aiden who I complained to told me to "chill out bro". The next morning at checkout my truck key was wrapped in a sticky note because the proper steps weren't taken, the team had no clue where my truck was at all times. Very rude unprofessional and incompetent and unpleasant guys. Check in desk was eh, have definitely gotten better service at a home 2 suites. Very dissatisfied won't be back that's for sure. read more

We stayed at the Archer for an afternoon and a night on our way home from the Cotton Bowl, just to check out what was new in Austin and the Domain area. Great service all around, starting with the bellman/valet who helped us unload and directed me to the marked-off Archer Hotel parking spots in the Nordstrom's garage across the side street. It was a cool day, so the fireplace in the lobby area was a welcome touch. Generously-sized room for the price, proper bed, lots of storage space if you're going to be staying for a while. Quiet HVAC with a functioning thermostat, not the through-the-widow variety. Roomy hallways and semi-secure elevators. (You need a room keycard to take the elevator above the main floor). Room lighting can be sort of quirky at hotels these days, but not at the Archer. Plenty of natural light through the large windows, and plenty of lamps for after dark. No noise issues in our street-facing room, although we could hear fart cars cruising the street until around 11 o'clock. Not Archer's fault. This is going to be our go-to hotel in Austin for a while. read more

Overall, the Archer Hotel is a beautiful building with intricate decor at their restaurant and bar. They especially did not skimp when it came to Christmas decorations, and it made the perfect setting for a small Christmas party with co-workers and their plus ones. As for food, they had decent vegetarian options like brussels sprouts and fries as appetizers, and pizzas like wild mushroom and margherita. They were also able to sub in blue cheese for the wild mushroom, swapping out the taleggio. It made for a fun, custom option and I'm glad they obliged. read more

If you want a hotel that has a working fireplace on your balcony, this is the hotel for you! We splurged on a staycation night away from the kids and Archer Hotel did not disappoint! Turn down service with treats, welcome waters, a bathtub big enough for two...this place is amazing! The bed was super comfortable and soft, but if you prefer a bed with a bit of bounce this bed is not for you. The hotel itself has valet parking and is located smack in the middle of the Domain, making it very convenient for a weekend away. They have room service, a fully stocked mini bar, and tons of little welcoming touches like a cowboy ducky for the bathtub. Want a fancy city hotel without driving into the city? There is what I can only describe as an Indian "rave" happening on the restaurant level right now at 10:30 PM. The music is insanely loud. I just want to rest. The front desk will not connect me to their manager and will not ask the party to turn down the music because it's a private party, as if that gives them a license to do this to everyone. Recently held a member retreat here for our company & the venue was exceptional! It was beautiful walking in to what felt like a super luxe lobby. It's Christmas season so of course they had a big beautiful Christmas tree under the main chandelier. Corner Balcony Suite for our Anniversary. Charming ATX themed and elegant hotel located right in the Northside of The Domain area.We found the hotel team very welcoming from the confirmation email and host team texts prior to our arrival. Upon arrival valet is available or self parking near the Nordstrom parking garage (levels 3 &4). Valet team were friendly and welcoming. Our initial room upon checkin was not ideal, AC did not work well. We spoke with the front desk and were promptly relocated to a much better option on the same floor which made for an easy adjustment. The corner suite is spacious, gorgeous and well suited with kitchenette, living room area, separate bedroom area and large bathroom; the wraparound balcony with fireplace were an amazing addition. The bathroom included both an extra large soaker tub (room for 2) and large shower, double vanities and separate water closet. The hotel bar right in the lobby was quaint with friendly staff and great views all around. The Texas themed touches throughout the hotel from the blue bonnets to the horses and guitars plus the glam/bling are a very nice touch. The pool area looks like it could be a great time with the large movie screen, pool, patio seating and cabana seating options. This area was not open during our stay, when open however I would recommend visiting. I will say the location has it's perks with walkability to nearby eateries, shopping, bars and more; the nightlife can also be very loud late night. Our room had both ear plugs and a sound machine, both unfortunately still did not drown out the loud techno music throughout the late night/early morning. Overall we are very pleased with our stay and appreciate The Archer team for the warm welcome, and anniversary touches during our stay. read more

We stopped by the Archer Hotel after Sunday Brunch so it was a perfect time to go - quiet time in between lunch & dinner service! We had the fireplace all to ourselves. This review is about this hotel as a gathering/ meeting place for company meetings, not an overnight stay. Our company leased out their largest upstairs conference rooms for an event. They catered breakfast tacos for the morning and a full Tex-Mex buffet for lunch. Both presentations were well laid out and very tasty as the photos included depict. Here are some facts concerning their conference rooms. The largest room is 4100 ft.² and total indoor and outdoor square footage is 19,250 sqft. They can handle group sizes from 10 to 400 with 300 seated banquet spaces. If you want to spend the night at this hotel, rates start at about $250 a night. There are three venues on the second floor, each divided by a retractable wall which can be opened to encompass all three rooms into a grande ballroom venue. The food, the service, the feeling, the vibe along with the open architecture, made this a desirable venue. Definitely a great place for a company gathering or wedding reception especially since it has such a large outdoor patio overlooking the street below. There are a couple of other smaller meeting rooms on the other side of the hotel as well. I was told that the rental of these gathering spaces start at $500 a day and go up from there. There is also a large parking garage directly next door to the hotel. We've wanted to stay here since they opened. The Domain is a fun area with lovely people and their families living around fun experiences. The Archer is one of those experiences. The building is impressive, with a comfortable lobby and great rooms. We had a balcony room with a fireplace...outside! The large tub and spacious shower were in the open format room. Amazing. What brought the Archer to the top of the list of my favorite Austin stays is the people. We had plans to go to a nearby restaurant and use the hotel shuttle. The shuttle was not available at the scheduled time, so they ordered an Uber to make sure my wife and I could make our dinner reservations. The following day a manager checked to ensure we were pleased and that we had made it home safely. Excellent rooms, food and staff. We will stay here many more times. read more

I stayed here at the recommendation of a business friend. I too was arriving for business meetings for one week. I originally planned to stay at a different hotel for points. I'm pleasantly glad I stayed here. Almost everything about my stay was perfect but did have one issue I'll get to later. When I arrived via Uber, I was able to walk right in and WOW, this lobby views are nothing short of incredible. The front desk was super helpful and polite. My room wasn't ready yet, but the front desk staff got me right into another room. The room was beautiful as I loved the color scheme and layout. I was in a room with a view of the Austin Domain area. During the course of my stay my business friends and I spent every night after dinner beside the pool. The pool with the white star and lighting is very enjoyable. Each night there was 3-7 of my business friends hanging by the pool in the deck furniture provided. We might have had a "few" drinks which was easy to order. There is a phone you use to order. The beers on tap and bottled options are great! I prefer the Lone Star bottled beer choice I got. After long days the pool side fun made this trip well worth all the hot days. Now as for some areas I wasn't exactly happy about. The lighting in the room left lots of dark areas. I felt the light placement and choice of what had bright lights and dim lighting was confusing. Not a show stopping issue just wasn't a fan of that. Second, I had hurt my finger away from the hotel. Once I arrived at the hotel I asked the front desk if they had a first aid kit. They did but it was extremely limited. The front desk was super helpful, but b/c they didn't have anything to help I was offered Tylenol. I took it and was about to walk away. The front desk clerk asked me for my room number to charge me for the Tylenol. I was surprised as it wasn't necessary what I thought they planned to do. Not huge issues but two I thought I would mention. Overall I enjoyed my stay and the pool a lot. read more

Worst hotel I've ever stayed at. Room not ready.... A/C not working and next day NO water in building. Should be shut down

We decided to stay at the Archer for our wedding night, and it did not disappoint. We did have to switch rooms at first, though, due to our original room facing Rock Rose Avenue and catching the bass sounds of all the bars until 2am, so just be wary about that if you're a light sleeper or have trouble falling asleep. Once they were able to accommodate us and switch us to a different room, everything was smooth from there! The building is beautiful and the restaurant attached, Second Bar + Kitchen, is delicious. The rooms are modern and spacious and comfortable. The bathrooms are well stocked and the showers are nice. My favorite things were the daily sweets/treats left for us: Bakery Lorraine macarons and Sugarfina peach tea gummy bears (+ the classic salted caramels). They also included robes and his and hers slippers in each room, which was cute! Service was as expected - the front desk hosts were polite and the valet guys were efficient. Be wary that valet costs $30/day, on top of your room charge (a bit insane to me considering the Domain is packed with free garage parking literally everywhere, but I guess if you value that extra service). With your room stay you do get a 1-time $25 credit to the restaurant, which, if you go during happy hour 3-6pm, you can easily order everything on the menu for a steal! Overall, it was a nice stay and we both enjoyed it. I'd love to go back sometime for another special occasion and get a suite. read more

So, I'm kind of in shock right now. It's 4:30pm in the afternoon and I stopped by the front desk to ask if housekeeping could get to my room as it hadn't been made up yet. The reception staff asked if I would like my bed made up as part of the service. Is it just me or is that something you would expect as part of a typical housekeeping service in a four star? I guess maybe go with Airbnb next time and lower my expectations of a four star hotel? read more
