Honey hot chicken with onion rings
Krystine R.

YYYAAAASSSS they're finally back. I waited patiently for literally two years. The menu is fairly consistent with the old one with some interesting changes. The food is pretty much what I expected. I know it's early days and the staff is trying hard to learn the menu, work out issues, and scale up. The 5 stars is for effort and potential. We've been back twice. Service is good but could be improved. We were sat on Sunday with a slew of other tables and our poor server was in. The. Weeds. He was apologetic but we were there a long time. Food was good but a couple of minor things were off the mark. The reuben needs a bit more dressing and cheese. The pizza was kind of doughy and undercooked in the middle. With a couple of tweaks everything would be spectacular. I also miss the thin cut fries but I am sure its a capacity issue. So glad you guys are back. Best of luck staffing up fully and working out the kinks. I humbly request a local seltzer like the one from Whalers on the menu!

I found this wonderful place back during Covid when they had some of the best pizza and beer in the state. After their unwanted hiatus, I was so happy to see they are back slinging pies and still doing great things. Happened to find myself down in WG for a soccer game and grabbed some take out on the way home after I noticed they were open. The chicken parm grinder has perfectly scallopini chicken with a crispy crust. Not a chicken nugget on a bun like so many places serve nowadays. It also was not drowning in sauce so the chicken could speak for itself. The pizza is fantastic no matter what style. We got a margherita and a hot honey and both were excellent in their own right. Crispy crust, fresh hot toppings and cheese that actually pulls! I had no problems ordering or picking up and everyone there was welcoming and friendly. New place is clean and bright. Can't wait to go back next time we're down that way.

New location upstairs- very bright and open.

Well- first time ordering after waiting for the re-opening. Unfortunately, a night when 2 competitors were closed- kitchen in the weeds and from my view into the kitchen they really didn't care that customers were waiting over 20/25/30 minutes late. They should really offer you ice water or something for the wait. Just ordered an app- although Tuna was good, extremely tiny, & guess they couldn't spare the greens the menu said they came with. Pizza good but cold so reheating it now....the restaurant itself was not even half full so I'm guessing they need to up their game.

Pizza Perfection! We got Pizza and Hot weenies to go. Great timing and delicious food. Also love the local beer options!

Hidden gem, not really near anything but close to the highway so easy to get to. Great flavor, a bit unique blend of cheese I think gives it the flavor. Thin crust, with chewy crust. Never disappoints when I do visit. Just check hours, not always open when you might expect.

Ordered the Arcadia pizza, crust is really good, not too thin but a very nice crunch to the bite. Good amount of toppings. I just couldn't figure out the lingering after taste. It was almost like a sight bitter taste at the end of each bite. Never had that experience before from any pizza anywhere. The toppings where all fresh veggies including the mushrooms. Would have been 4 stars if not for the after taste.

One of my favorite pizza places!! I love their regular pizza and their Sicilian pizza! I do wish we could do a small Sicilian pizza because it's so large. It is delicious though! I also love their onion rings with their horseradish sauce! I also love their buffalo chicken egg rolls. So good! Their salads are great too!! I would request extra salad dressing just cuz. They also have an awesome beer selection!!!!! We have had a bunch of their specialty pizzas and have loved all of them!! You can't go wrong with this place!!

Sausage pizza is addicting. Incredibly good pizza. ESPECIALLY for the area which is kind of dry for good restaurants.

Apparently Lauren's birthday is a pizza festival now…read more For Day Two, I met up with her at The Pizza Nomad in the Center of New England because they have a new pizza called the Detroit Slim. I had questions. Mostly about how something this thick gets to call itself slim. We ordered one cheese and one pepperoni and settled in. Then we saw the pizza, and suddenly Detroit Slim made sense. The answer is geometry. It isn't slim from the side. Not even close. It's slim from above. Instead of the big rectangular Detroit-style pizza most of us know, this thing is long and narrow, cut into four substantial pieces. I immediately loved the size. It gives you everything I want from Detroit-style pizza without requiring what sometimes feels like a contractual obligation to an enormous pan of it. Four pieces. Manageable. Plenty of pizza. But the crust is what got me. Look at the picture of Lauren holding up that cross-section. That's the story. The inside is almost absurdly soft, smooth and airy. Big pockets run through a light, pillowy structure that looks nothing like what you're expecting from the weight of the slice in your hand. Then turn it over. The bottom is golden brown, blistered and crisp enough to make noise. That's the trick. You bite through this loud, crunchy shell and immediately hit something soft, smooth and almost delicate inside. Crunch, then pillow. The two textures shouldn't occupy the same piece of dough this comfortably. But they do. And around the perimeter, things get even better. Cheese escapes down the sides and meets the hot pan, leaving behind those dark, crispy pieces hanging off the edges. The stuff that looks almost burned in the pictures? That's treasure. The sauce has enough presence to survive everything happening around it. You still taste tomato beneath all that cheese, crust and rendered pepperoni. The cheese itself is really good, with enough flavor to be more than just the thing holding everything together. And that pepperoni was fantastic. Some cups. Some curls. Some lies flat against the cheese. The edges go dark and crisp while the centers render their fat into everything underneath them. There is a point with pepperoni where "burned" and "perfect" become separated by about thirty seconds. I like living dangerously close to that line. Pizza Nomad does too. There is also, for reasons I cannot explain, a full-sized medieval knight standing guard over the pizza. I respect this. If you're going to make an inch and a half thick pizza called Detroit Slim, there is no reason a knight can't stand guard over it. The Detroit Slim is a collection of contradictions. It's thick without being heavy. Soft and seriously crunchy. Small enough to feel manageable, substantial enough that nobody is going home wondering what we're having for lunch tomorrow. But I keep coming back to that crust. That soft, smooth, airy interior. The blistered bottom. The cheese cooked hard against the edges. Crispy pepperoni on top of all of it. Every layer has a different job. And somehow, every one of them makes noise. Day Two of Lauren's birthday pizza week is in the books. At this point, I've accepted that her birthday lasts a week. I see no compelling reason to challenge this.

I've been to the other Nomad in West Warwick and this is just as good. They're both about the same…read moredistance from my house, but I'll probably go here more often as parking can get a little tight at the west warwick location when boomerangs is busy. I ordered the eggplant Parmesan with gluten free pasta and I actually liked it enough to bring my leftovers with me (If something isn't great I tend to leave leftovers). Eggplant was thinly sliced and crispy. My father ordered a baked stuffed quahog, and a Greek salad. He wasn't happy with either & thought the salad dressing came straight from a bottle. He did have New England clam chowder (not homemade, Snows) which he did like. Mom ordered an eggplant grinder that was good, but needed more sauce. The atmosphere was a family run Italian restaurant kind of vibe. There was a dessert counter with desserts that looked bakery made. Based on the delicious smell of the place, my guess is that the pizza and grinders are probably very good too. I think perhaps my father just ordered the wrong things? I'm not willing to rate this place less than 3 because the eggplant parm and the service were so good. I bet if we gave them another try and stuck w Italian entrees we would have been a lot happier.

Fratellis is situated in one of the shopping strips along the boulevard. Lots of open parking, always a plus in my book. Inside, the big windows of the front offer a lot of natural light as you walk inside. The set is simple, straightforward and clean. A few tables, counter seating at the windows and the register, where a nice woman was waiting to take our order. We went simple today, a Detroit half cheese and half pepperoni. I had heard great things about the Detroit and I wanted to taste for myself. After about 20 minutes, the pizza arrived and it was time to eat. The first thing I noticed is this is a VERY cheesy pizza, some might say overly so. I would be one of those people. But if you love lots of cheese, you will love this. Although it was a lot of cheese, it was delicious. The pockets of sauce were great, I love a chunky, savory sauce. The crust was buttery, crispy but pillowy thick. The caramelized cheese edges nice and crunchy, always my favorite part of the Detroit. We are blessed to have many great options for Detroit now here in Rhode Island. Fratelli's is absolutely among the top in the state. If you like Detroit, you need to add this place to your list to check out ASAP.

With a friend's band on their entertainment schedule, I found the perfect opportunity to try it out. I was looking forward to both the music and the food and while the music was amazing, my overall experience didn't quite live up to expectations. Pro: - My friends and I were able to reserve a table ahead of time, which helped secure space to enjoy the show. We had an up close and personal view, and it definitely made for an immersive experience. Cons: - The space is way too small for live bands. The band was squeezed into a corner, and the closest table was practically on top of the lead singer. The small space in front of the band may have been meant for dancing, but it blocked the path to the bathrooms and food service. It felt cramped, loud, and uncomfortable. - The pub-height tables had tall chairs that were wobbly and unstable. I'm not a big person, but even I felt like I might tip over sitting there. Plus, the layout was so tight that we all had to get up every time someone wanted to wiggle their way to the bar or the bathroom. - Our waitress disappeared for long stretches of time, and service was painfully slow. We ended up having to go up to the bar for refills between courses because no one was around to help. - The food was disappointing. I ordered the house-made tavern chips (which look like potato chips on the website) but got plain tortilla chips instead. I also had two hot weiners, and while they had all the right toppings, the flavor was all wrong. The meat sauce tasted burnt, and they were completely overloaded with celery salt. It was honestly the worst I've ever had. Others at the table felt underwhelmed with their selections as well - the quesadilla was soggy and the appetizer sampler was just okay. - The bathroom locks were unreliable. The lock on the door failed halfway through my visit, and it took several attempts to get the button to work again, which made for a pretty awkward experience. Given this visit, I'm unlikely to return. If I do, it'd have to be for a great band, and I'll definitely eat somewhere else beforehand.
