All of the soda tasted off as well. Almost none of the arcade machines worked which left nothing to do for those who can't skate well. We tried helping our kid but it was like they just waxed the floors. Even other adults not with our party had complained about how slippery it was. The carpeted area was sticky and the snack area wasn't manned for most of the party. Won't be returning or throwing a party here.

Funniest parts of the evening were, when my friend was filling out my waiver, she asked me if I wanted a helmet and I gave her a look... "what?! A helmet!! No!" Once the pizza arrived besides being cold we realized it was from little Caesars. I don't mind the pizza being from there BUT at least make sure it's hot! The young lady who was helping us with the pizza and drinks would just take things without asking. When it was time to clean she didn't ask if people were done, she just started taking off the plastic table cover with everything still on the table and rolling it getting ready to throw everything away until we told her that there was personal stuff on there! That's just rude! You ask if people are done not just assume everything on the table is trash. Being new and nervous, it took my daughter 5 minutes to go about 10 feet and when we asked they said they have no buckets or beginner helps to push along. Instead they sent us Marcella who was our angel! She spent 5-10 minutes giving us a beginner tutorial and helped my daughter get off the wall skating on her own. We had so much fun and I loved getting to see my daughter try something new. The facilities and rentals at SD Ice Arena are decent. There weren't many fresh beginners. It was fun to sit on the benches and watch the more experienced skaters when we finished.

Open skate and skate rental costs $25 per person. It felt a bit steep to me, but I realize that they don't make money on much else so it's really not bad. They offer lockers at a price. There is free filtered water. It was a bit odd when my friends brought me a gift bag with knee pads, that they said no gift bags of any kind were allowed. It seemed odd as I thought children had roller skating birthday parties at places like this. At least they let us take out the knee pads and carry in the empty bag. Anyway, the space wasn't too crowded on Sunday, so it was easy to practice. I also rented one of those little wheeled walkers so I didn't fall all over the place. I was a bit bummed to learn that they didn't offer lessons, outside of their monthly "academy". I would have loved to drop in for a single session. All in all, it was a pretty good time. I was experiencing irritation in my ankle from stiff skates but they put bandage and tape to prevent it from getting worse. These pros are the real deal, full package. They even taught me rollerskate maintenance and a little five minute lesson. These are people who are passionate and care as well as the djs and every staff member. Keep this gem in chino open as long as possible. I highly recommend the lessons on Saturdays from 11-12 because you also have free skate with a dj after. Love skate express.
