What a wholesome show for the entire family. There are no animals or pets; but instead, a group of exceptionally talented performers of every imaginable art. Very hospitable staff. Unfortunately we didn't get to watch 30 minutes of the show. We thought it started at 730pm, but it started at 630pm. We got to see the rest of the show. It was enjoyable, the cast did a great job. Our favorite was the motorcycle acro. So fun! Adrenaline pumping. One of our friends didn't want to go because she thought they would have animals like the olden days. We reassured her no animals were present or harmed. So I'm sure she'd attend next time. read more

Not for kids! If you looking for a sensual striptease then take your partner but not for kids at all. You'll get a small performance with the music from the movie 365 Days. The show was scheduled to start at 7, started at about 7:20 and then there was a 20 min break around 8pm. The popcorn was not good and the only $5 water from Arrowhead. read more

It was ok but very expensive- even with free tickets. Concessions are extremely overpriced. Fifty percent of the show is the clown and audience participation. There are some extremely talented and entertaining performers, but collectively their time on stage isn't that long. Just not what we were expecting for a circus. read more

Not for kids under 5. It is more of a performance of dance than an actual CIRCUS. They had a bouncy house. $10 for bored kids who could've used it when they were getting antsy... but it was only open during the intermission and after the show. Again, for $10!!!! I was very disappointed. read more

Circus Vargas is NOT your parent's three ring circus! Circus Vargas is instead, a very intimate show, here for a limited time in JC Penney's Temecula parking lot. There is only one ring and the seating goes back only ten to twelve rows. So there's not a bad seat under this big tent. Gone are the live animals. All are life-like stuffed toys, even the boa constrictor around one of the performers neck. But it, too very looked real. Circus Vargas begins and ends with the story of its founder, Clifford Vargas who dreamt as a small boy in NorCal of owning a circus. He got his chance after many years, when he was forty-eight. The six of us found the show to be extraordinary entertaining. Five Stars! All of the performers are in great physical shape, which they have to be given all the aerobics they perform. Our first time CV experience and first time circus experience for 3/4 of our kiddos. It was a really fun and entertaining family fun event for a one time experience only as the acts always seemed to be redundant. It was like watching an elevated AGT show. The tickets are a little pricy, so we ended up buying "value" tickets where the seats are shown at the rear of the arena, but in actuality, it's so much smaller inside than portrayed online, we were literally a few rows behind the VIP area which would have costed our family hundred of dollars more! Sitting under the spot lights made it extremely hot, fortunately we had a whole row to ourselves so I would move to a dark corner when they had the lights on. The biggest turn off would have been the childless, older couple behind us that cussed up a storm the entire time and the group of girls in front of us that were on Snapchat the entire show and took an obscene amount of selfies I had to keep moving out of the way for. I thought the little skits between the acts were corny and boring, BUT it was one of our kiddos' favorite part of the show. All in all, we had a great family outing and would recommend to others also for a one time experience! read more

I wanted to do something different for a Sunday night and wanted to give the Circus a try. My wife and I took our two year old to watch the show. The show was worth it! My little one had so much fun, she was clapping most of the show. It was definitively better than going to the movies! Every staff member was polite, helpful, and they always had a smile. Saw the circus was coming to town and we decided to take the wee one (granddaughter), just 2 1/2 years of age. We figured, if nothing more, the activity in the ring would keep her attention. I chose to sit back from ringside and up a couple rows on the next level, in case being too close might scare her (especially evil clown - LOL). Last minute some family from out of state showed up and they bought two tickets, which were the seats next to the ones we had already purchased. We went on a Monday evening. Driving into the parking lot of the Temecula Promenade mall was a sight to behold. The wee one got very excited to see the "big tent" in all its blue and white canopy glory. You enter into a courtyard setting, both exterior and interior, before going into the tent and your seats. There were plenty of portable restrooms outside and to the side, just far enough away (yet enclosed within the fenced off courtyard) from any gathering public. I was not questioned about the bottle of water I was carrying as we entered the covered interior, where there were several stands selling food, drinks and wares. We picked up a large bucket of popcorn (she loves her popcorn) and went into the main tent, where we guided to our seats. As more people, with wee ones of their own, started entering the big tent I observed many of the children carrying various color lighted wands and swords. I took my wee one back into the interior courtyard to find that booth. The gentleman (circus family member) was very nice and patient with her as she finally made a selection. I ended up buying some additional junk foods and drinks. The show started pretty much on time and boy were we in for a treat! All the acts were very well done and they kept you entertained, walking the perimeter of the ring as they made changes for the next act. I recall taking my wee one's father to Circus Vargas when he was a boy, but I don't recall it being so entertaining as this one was. Every act was amazing to watch, the performers defying gravity, et al. Our granddaughter paid attention the entire time, which should tell you something for a child that age (they did NOT have any scary clowns), and even the 20 minute intermission was enjoyable. Every single circus member / employee we interacted with was friendly, which made it that much nicer! We all enjoyed ourselves, even the tight wad brother in law HAHA. We will return next year if they come to town! BTW, I don't think there is really a "bad" seat in the house; as the venue is not ginormous and you are up pretty close (unlike a sports arena setting). read more

I took my kids here and they had so much fun. The performance was awesome! It was hard to hear the clowns and host at the beginning of the show but the sound was fixed and it was a lot of fun. We sat in the VIP seats but I think any seats all have good views. Everyone is nice. Cute fun circus goodies to take home. I would highly recommend. I've been to Circus Vargas 5 years in a row now... and while I must say that it's pretty entertaining (especially with the dirt bike duo at the end), the biggest downside is if you can stand how freaking hot it is inside... if it's 80 degrees outside, it can easily feel like it's 95 inside... it's horrible! Aside from that, it's a great event for the kids. I would definitely try to find a deal or coupon or sorts since it can easily creep well over $100 for a family of four. Those who liked this circus clearly haven't been to any other circuses before. Hard to describe how lame it was. But just for a few basic points: No clowns. No magic. No juggling. Only a bit of comic relief and it wasn't even very good. The whole thing was basically aerobatic type stuff, lots of the same. A sprinkling of "tricks" acts but no one did anything all that special, everything was just mediocre. They had a lady try to pop a balloon while standing on her hands, with a bow and arrow on her feet. Two chances. She missed both. LOL. Basically sums up what this circus was. Acts were not well-thought-out. Mostly all the acts were choreographed to face the front and center of the stage so everyone on the sides were basically "watching from the sides" (in a well-done circus, it doesn't have to be this way). There were 3 totally useless filler-acts where the full cast of the circus came out with jazz-hands and glossy eyes singing about the circus & its founder who always wanted to own one (yes, THREE lol). Anyway. So much to say. But basically, this circus sucks. Overpriced, lack of talent or forethought, only mildly enjoyable, and I was trying. Funnest part was the cotton candy and light-up sticks. I have seen Circus Vargas now two times over 3 years and they are a passionate, polished, professional troupe of outstanding show people. The humor is endearing in the between acts side show featuring "Tony" the clown and a spike haired fellow miscreant (name of character unfortunately escapes me). Like the quasi-Italian accents! Great saxaphone and trumpet solos as well add to the overall visual of the "Steam Punk" vibe for this season. Several acts are indeed risky as there are no safety harnesses used and these athletes are 40-50 feet up and higher at times. First time for my three teenage boys and they loved it...favorites being the "motorcycle ball o death" and the "compound bow circle o death" ( my names for these acts). These are hard working entertainers and I am surprised they don't fill the entire stadium..but it was a Saturday afternoon so that makes sense. Outstanding show...thanks CV!!! read more

Circus Vargas is making its way North and my review is soon after the Temecula shows. I know it has moved to the San Bernardino area currently as of 3/23/14. I first took my son back in 2010 and I wish I hadn't waited so long to revisit the circus. They have NO ANIMALS in their shows from what I've seen. Each visit to Circus Vargas has been so fun and memorable! The only advice I give after this recent visit, is due to our unusually warm March, dress VERY COMFORTABLY & COOL as the tent gets warm. They have fans and certain seats with better draft but nothing major to fuss over. Just stay hydrated as the show runs two hours long. There have been some great ticket promotions online and in the malls so be sure to check for discounts first. We purchased arena seats and $10 OFF EACH TICKET up to 8 tickets. We sat in the arena seats and got there promptly so picked the first centered arena seats. Viewing was elevated too! We were actually only two rows behind the VIP RING SEATS. Because the first row arena seats are reserved for handicapped, keep that in mind, but since no one required those seats during our visit, the cast gave us permission to move ourselves there. I remember we sat there also back in 2010 and we easily interacted with each of the performers. The performers are so talented! Extremely friendly and inviting! Tons of souvenirs to enjoy. They have a photographer walking around and for $10 you can take home a souvenir photo if you overlooked bringing a camera. Show programs are $5 and you can have the cast autograph them at the end of the show. They are even so kind as to allow us to take photos with them at the end of the show as you exit. We came for a 1:30 performance and it was not too crowded. It was really a perfect way to spend an afternoon with the kids! read more

I'll get to the point the performers are amazing, talented, and all employees were friendly and awesome!! However, the chairs are really disgusting and gross and I really hope that the manager in charge sees my comment and gets the people some better seats. I believe the performers deserve a better looking place to do there performance I also have to complain about the stuff animal snake and lions those in my opinion were making the show seem low budget even though the performers were beyond great the real animals would have been 10 times better then stuff animals. Over all though the kids enjoyed every moment and so did I. Once again the performers were top of the line they deserve a top of the line looking place!!!! read more

I had the pleasure to take my Family to this Circus. We caught the first show on Sunday morning.. We had gone to Barnum an Bailey about 8 months ago at the Staples Center in LA.. It was good show on a large scale.. The difference here with Circus Vargas is the Intimacy... I had regular tickets but upgraded each tic for $5 to the inside perimeter which was the best thing to do.. We were right in front of the action.. the performers were literally 15 feet away.. talk about up and close. I was chosen to go upstage for one of the bits... and my 8 year old son was chosen 3 times and was also given the Green Apple after the Deadeye Crossbow guy shot an arrow through it.. The performers were absolutely beautiful I fell in love with like 4 of em LOL.. The best part was I would have completely been pleased with the entire first half of the show.. They take and intermission to setup for the Trapeze... so I was blown that there was another whole half of the show to come... All in all the Best Circus I have been to.. and the fact you are so close and so involved with the performance make it all more special.. I highly recommend you catch the show if it comes to your neighborhood. read more
