We recently celebrated my daughter's 8th birthday at Skate Express, and overall we had a great experience! I booked the birthday package for 10 kids, which included one pizza and one pitcher of soda for $199. When we arrived, I was surprised to learn that every adult also had to pay a $12.50 admission fee, even if they weren't skating. This wasn't clearly disclosed on the website or during the pre-party confirmation call, which was frustrating. I spoke with the manager, Jasmine, and she completely understood my concerns. She explained that they're under new management and appreciated the feedback. She said they plan to make the website and party policies much more transparent so future customers know about the adult admission fees in advance. She also adjusted my bill, which I truly appreciated. As for the party itself, it was fantastic! The kids had an amazing time, and our party host, Momma, was absolutely wonderful. She was attentive, kind, and made sure everything ran smoothly so we could enjoy the celebration. Despite the initial misunderstanding, the staff handled the situation professionally and showed they genuinely cared about customer satisfaction. We really appreciate their accommodations and understanding, and we'll definitely be back! read more

Not many roller skate rinks these days so i had to drive 1hour to visit here. My son's first time and all the safety gears were there. Price was very cheap, and only thing i celt expensive was the game arcade. Hah (play times were too short compared to price).staff were nice and i could feel that they genuinely care about us. Skate express is amazing!!! Shoutout to Colette and and Corinne, they not only offered to fix my bearings which were rusted and stiff for a good price. I was experiencing irritation in my ankle from stiff skates but they put bandage and tape to prevent it from getting worse. These pros are the real deal, full package. They even taught me rollerskate maintenance and a little five minute lesson. These are people who are passionate and care as well as the djs and every staff member. Keep this gem in chino open as long as possible. I highly recommend the lessons on Saturdays from 11-12 because you also have free skate with a dj after. Love skate express. read more

I came here for a birthday party and could not have had more fun! This was an old school roller rink with all the trimmings you'd expect: good music, perfectly worn in roller skates to borrow, snacks, and wholesome fun! I appreciated that they made "helper" carts available. It had been a looooong while since I last skated and I was worried I'd fall. Nothing doing - because I took advantage of the helper thingie. These do cost extra ($10) and you have to make sure to return it at the end of the evening. I liked the rink itself - it was old, and I was therefore less prone to slipping and falling. It was fun to see regular patrons show off their skills. The DJ also announced backward skating - for those who can. It was great fun - I'd come again. read more

DJ Pete is hands down the best! His Friday night sessions are always a blast -- I especially love the 80s freestyle throwbacks he mixes in. I usually skate there two to three times a month, and his music always sets the perfect vibe. Lately, though, I've noticed some changes. It seems like DJ Pete is only there two nights a month now, and the music on other nights just isn't the same. One Friday, when he wasn't there, the playlist felt more like a nightclub than a skating rink -- not the kind of music that keeps skaters moving in rhythm. I really hope management lets him do what he does best: play the music that skaters love. On a positive note, the new floors are great and the skate guards are OK-- but I do wish they'd stay a bit more focused on the rink and less on skating for fun themselves. Skate Express is such a fun place, and DJ Pete is a big part of why I keep coming back. I'd love to see him featured more often! read more

I love how skate rinks are still in existence. It's such a good place for the kids to get out and socialize and move their bodies. I will say one down side as a person who's wrecked their body earlier in life and doesn't put myself into a fall situation haha I didn't like how just to walk in with my daughter so she could skate out some energy I had to pay $12 to be inside. read more

I took my 9th grader and her friend, my 7th grader, and even my 2-year-old to the Saved by the Bell: Homework on Wheels night, and we all had a great time! The free tutoring hour was super helpful for the older kids to get their homework done before skating. The staff was friendly, the atmosphere was fun and safe, and the $10 admission (with free skate rental) plus the $5 pizza combo made it such an affordable family outing. We drove out here for a kids birthday party and had to pay an admission fee to watch my kid skate.

We just had our 8 year old's birthday party there and it was a blast! The music and atmosphere were fun and upbeat, the pizza and cupcakes that came with the party package were tasty, and the staff was very helpful. Everyone had a great time! We chose to pay for adults that were coming with their kids to chaperone, so everyone who came to our party just went through the separate party entrance. Even with that, it was still affordable, much less than we paid for "jumpy place" kids' parties in the past. read more

We recently celebrated and surprised my mom for her 80th birthday, and from beginning to end, the experience was truly exceptional. We booked the Royal Room, and Demetria, the manager, went above and beyond to accommodate my family. Her professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail made the entire process seamless and stress-free. The party host was also outstanding. Both were incredibly attentive, warm, and genuinely invested in making the celebration special. The skating rink was extremely busy with multiple parties going on, yet that never stopped Demetria or the staff from providing top-tier customer service, not just to us and our guests, but to all the skaters I observed throughout the facility. That level of care, cleanliness, and attention to detail truly stood out where you can be confident in knowing this is a manager who leads by example. Thanks to their hard work and dedication, my mom's 80th birthday was beyond amazing. Worst place I've been to. Least inclusive place I have ever been to. They force you to skate on the middle of the rink (aka get out the way) and won't even give you a skate helper, they claim it's only for children or handicap people (they had plenty). They also don't have rails to grab on, which is very risky and truly a lawsuit waiting to happen. They wouldn't give me my money back after they refused to give me a roller skate helper and I had only been there for 10 min. read more

The new management needs to be replaced immediately. The way this rink has fallen apart is unbelievable. It's clear they either have no idea how to run a facility or they're completely overwhelmed, either way, it's unacceptable. This is now maybe the third or fourth time the Christian night has been cancelled with zero communication. Yesterday 12/8, there was a fully scheduled and promoted Christian skate, yet not a single supervisor or manager showed up. Staff were locked outside, unable to even enter their own workplace. A family who planned to celebrate a birthday there was also left waiting outside with nowhere to go. Completely unprofessional and entirely avoidable. Like what is going on with staffing lately? This level of incompetence is ridiculous. Don't waste your money here. Spend it somewhere that actually knows how to operate. read more

The floor in this rink is terrible. Scratched, dirty, nicked, and grooved. Don't they ever wash this floor? I don't have slider wheels, but I slide all over the place. Every other skating rink in So Cal has a better floor. Even the parking lot is in better condition than the skate floor. This is an embarrassment to the memory of the owner. He would have never let it get this bad. I guess that this is what happens when the owner and management don't skate. I've been coming here almost every weekend for years and I've never seen a skating floor this bad. Do something before people get really hurt and start suing you guys out of business! read more

People were really fun, the DJ was playing fun music. Looks the same as it did 30 years ago when I was in jr high with is pretty nostalgic. I really wish they'd fix the rink, looks like it's coming apart on the outside where the majority of the people skate. It could be pretty dangerous and it looks bad. read more

I took my grandchildren here and was very disappointed. I drove from Culver City and when we arrived it was a true disappointment as the place was very dated, customer service was awful. I gave them three stars as the kids had fun, but they have said they don't want go back. read more

Recently visited Skate Express for my aunt's 80th birthday and had an amazing time. It's been ages since we've been here and since we've gone skating so this was a memorable event. The place was rented out for 2 hours of skating with our family and we all had a blast getting back into it and skating around to old school jams. I would HIGHLY recommend this for a fun experience with friends or family. The staff were all very nice and helped us with selecting skates and the DJ was spinning the best tunes to skate to from the 60's, 70's, 80's and some nineties. I definitely want to go back as not only was this a fun experience it was also a great way to exercise! I'm nowhere near as good as I was when I was younger, but I'm willing to go back out and try it again just to get some exercise in that isn't walking, running or the gym. We came for the pre NYE R&B night (12/30) & had a blast! It was a 21+ night. The music was great, nice mature crowd, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I wish the concession stand was open for refreshments, but there was a food truck outside, and you're allowed to go in & out for food/drinks. I came to Skate Express on a Tuesday Adults Only night (20+). $20 for four hours skating. There was a metal detector and security upon entrance, so it felt safe. Snack bar was closed, but vending machines had sodas and snacks available. Venue and restrooms were clean enough but definitely looked outdated. I cared more about skating anyways but if you're looking for something aesthetic this isn't it. If this is your first time skating/beginner like I was, I recommend arriving early to get a chance to catch your bearings before the more seasoned skaters begin arriving. The music played was 90s r&b all night. Not my jam, but seemed to cater to the crowd. I would like to return on a themed night. read more

Friday Night the DJ just REPEATS the rules OVER & OVER & OOOVVVEEERRR again! I don't even think anyone was breaking the rules, but just over and over as an advertisement to sell their hat clips and lockers...Saturday Night they play a lot of new R&B that often you see people with their own headphones in... Friday Night the DJ also LOVES to pull everyone off the floor before announcing that it's advanced skate or backwards skate or OG skate...it's excessive & wastes so much time when you have a skate rink with people just coming to have a good time & probably aren't the best at it anyway. The kids and family came here for Memorial Day at their hours 12pm to 3pm. Bill was about $70 total. $50 for entry ($12.5 each person), $20 for skate rentals ($5 each pair). Looking back at the cost after the fact, we should have said "2 kids and 2 adults" instead of "4 people," at the door, because kids were only quoted $5.5 2 days prior over the phone. It's a good little skate rink, a little on the loud side though, my Apple Watch registered at least 90 decibels and told me prolonged exposure to more than half an hour could damage my ears. Maybe that's why they rotate everyone off the rink to only those who want to play a game every hour or so? (Hokey Pokey, limbo when we went). They give out little prize tickets to participants if they think you put in a lot of effort to exhange at the gift store. They gave one to my 6 year-old even though she couldn't hold herself standing up for the entire time of the Hokey Pokey. Would definitely come back, given kids are really $5.5 and that day was a mistake in the rate and gave us $12.50. Oh and love the fact that they have a dress code and rules like no holding your cell phone in your hand and no stopping when you're skating for safety. The entrance sign said the dress code no torn shirts (although inside I did see someone wearing very torn up pants). read more

We went on 80s night and wondered where they found the songs played. There are dozens and dozens of songs that could have been played, but they chose the most obscure songs, not really sure they were from the 80s. Sad that during a speed skate, they only allowed people who own their skates to skate on the floor. Why descriminate over someone that's either traveling and stopped in to skate or someone that cannot afford to purchase skates? Owning skates doesn't equate to skating well. Snack bar didn't waste any food that's for certain as we had to find the person working there and nothing was prepared in advance. Adding up all of the above we left dejected and early in the evening. Great skate monitor using her whistle to keep people moving, off the wall and to help fallen skaters get back on their feet! I went here with some friends during all ages skate time and we all had a great time even though it's been years since any of us had been skating. The lighting isn't exactly the most cinematic, but maybe that's because we didn't go on adult night lol.
