    Old school skate vibes
    Monica M.

I came here for a birthday party and could not have had more fun! This was an old school roller rink with all the trimmings you'd expect: good music, perfectly worn in roller skates to borrow, snacks, and wholesome fun! I appreciated that they made "helper" carts available. It had been a looooong while since I last skated and I was worried I'd fall. Nothing doing - because I took advantage of the helper thingie. These do cost extra ($10) and you have to make sure to return it at the end of the evening. I liked the rink itself - it was old, and I was therefore less prone to slipping and falling. It was fun to see regular patrons show off their skills. The DJ also announced backward skating - for those who can. It was great fun - I'd come again.

I took my 9th grader and her friend, my 7th grader, and even my 2-year-old to the Saved by the Bell: Homework on Wheels night, and we all had a great time! The free tutoring hour was super helpful for the older kids to get their homework done before skating. The staff was friendly, the atmosphere was fun and safe, and the $10 admission (with free skate rental) plus the $5 pizza combo made it such an affordable family outing. Definitely a great mid-week event for kids of all ages!

Fun place to have a skate party. Number cars are budget at best but the kids still liked them. Place is bigger than it looks from outside

Have a snack bar that serves icee, fountain drinks, pizza, nachos, churros and so much more. The skating rink been open for 52 years. Located right off the 55 Freeway, Chapman Ave. Lots of parking available. Tip always check out their website for Thanksgiving/Winter/Summer or holiday Breaks. It was a great chance to celebrate, experience a new skating rink and in a different location; far away from home, but worth it! Inside: It's really tropical inside! I love seeing the sunset decor around the skating rink, the tall palm trees painted along the walls, colorful lighting, as well as colorful groovy carpet! Haha! Also, the place was decorated for St. Patrick's Day, which was the following day! There are lockers to keep valuables for $.50, and a full on concession stand! Crowd: Super friendly, as well as hilarious! We laughed plenty, met so many new people, as well as heard a number of interesting stories! The crowd truly reflected a bunch of the happiest people I've met! The energy was uplifting! Also, it was really cool to see several familiar faces from another skating rink!! While I was able to capture a bit of a skating, I put my phone away for the remainder of the night, when the floor was packed with people!! Music: Different nights, different music; a variety was played! Parking: Plentiful & free! Birthday Party: There were a lot of people, as it was the pastor's birthday! People really showed up for him! The party was catered; there was plenty of food for everyone! Thanks again, very kind & what a delicious surprise! Overall: We had fun celebrating the birthday guy, meeting, laughing & skating with new people, as well as an overall great time! Cheers to a fun Girls' Night Out!

When we first walked up there were a lot of empty booze cans in the parking lot near the entrance, so not a great first impression. As we walked in, there were two young women to check us in for the party. They seemed kind of confused when we gave them our names, and then told us we could just go ahead in. They weren't very friendly or helpful. Once inside, we were able to easily find the area they had reserved for the party. It was decorated and had a host to help with the kids. Unfortunately the host didn't really seem on top of things. A couple of times during the party things ran out (cups/soda/water) and she was nowhere to be found. I waited in line at the snack bar to get some assistance, and then told they would find the host to come help us. You can bring in your own skates or rollerblades, or they have skate rentals there. There are no rollerblades available to rent tho, only regular skates. I was disappointed when I found this out there, since I only rollerblade and didn't bring my own pair with me. The facility is cash free, but there are lockers and arcade games that require cash/coins. There is a change machine available for their use. I think the lockers were $1.25, and they're one time use - so every time you open them you need to pay again. There was a DJ playing some good music for us older adults. Overall all, it was okay. The kids had fun, and the adults got to hang for a bit.

If you bring your own you don't have to rent or pay a fee, just your ticket for entry. It's been more packed now so the line to get in is longer, getting a table is harder, parking is worse. PARKING: The parking lot is small so I had to park around the block, but it's not a long walk. But now that's it's busier you have to drive around the block tryna find street parking. INSIDE: The place itself is super cute. They have a small store where you can purchase skates and skate accessories, They have tables and lockers, Vending machines, photo booth, the skate rental area, bathrooms and floor is carpet(for safety) and of course the skating rink. Each "event" is themed/based on a. Artist, music genre, or age range. Some nights are 18+ others are all ages. So I would recommend looking into the theme of the night before going.

The lot fills up fast and the surrounding neighborhood doesn't offer many options, so I ended up parking at the nearby Home Depot and walking over like a lot of other people. There was a long line to get in. My wife got inside before me while I parked. When I arrived, I was told I could go to the front since I already had a ticket and skates. I gave the woman at the door my name and explained my wife had already paid for my rental, but she didn't believe me. She shut the door on me multiple times while trying to verify. I had to text my wife to come confirm it. Eventually I got in, but it was frustrating. One of the male employees did apologize to my wife, which I appreciated. We skipped renting a locker and just left our stuff in a bag on top of the lockers. Once we got on the floor, we had a good time. The rink filled up quickly and at times it felt a bit crowded. There was a mix of beginners along the outer edge and more experienced skaters in the center, with everyone trying to find their lane. Saw quite a few falls, but the staff in referee shirts did a solid job keeping people moving and enforcing the no stopping rule. They don't allow cameras on the rink, but phones are okay. Overall, despite the rough start at the door, we still had fun. It's one of the few rinks in the area, so we'll likely come back and hope for a smoother experience next time.

The shop owner, Amy, was busy tending to a small family that was getting their little girl fitted for her first pair of skates. She acknowledged us and said if we had any questions to let her know. We perused around the store and wanted to get every skate, in every color! They had skates from about $80 a pair to $200 a pair and we had no idea what made one better than the other so we asked and honestly it sounded like it just depends on the person. I tried on a pair of suede skates and instantly fell in love. They fit like a glove and I tend to have wider calves/ankles and these looked and felt like they were made for me. The price was about $250 so I shopped around for another pair that was cheaper, but I wasn't a fan of the material. The color ways were so cool, but I think I'm going to go with the suede in a different color. The shop is cool and carries a variety of accessories for your skates. They also sell some skateboard and skateboard accessories/gear. Amy also hosts a Wednesday evening class in Upland for $20 at a local park, so it really is an all in one stop for all things roller skates. As for the family I mentioned earlier it was clear English wasn't their first language and Amy took the time to answer every question and provide every possible skate for the girl to try on and feel out. I thought that was cool and could tell these skates were going to change her life!
