Kenan our coach
Terry R.

First time here checking off the bucket list. We were greeted by Kenan who helped us get started. Super great! Super nice! Super helpful. Kenan was here by himself and handled the busy time like a champ. Appreciated the patience. We had a great time and met some nice people too. Definitely a must do at least once. Could be your new addiction. Thank you Kenan

I usually go to the orange location but orange is bouldering only. I came to upland for Auto belay training. There are 2 Auto belay reels with 3 routes of varying difficulties accessible from each reel. The class was brief but covered the safety and using the Auto belay device and harnesses. There are quite a few top rope climbs and lead climbs in the hangar. There are a good number of bouldering areas. Unfortunately there were very few V0, V1, and V2 level bouldering problems.

This location is pretty cute. One auto belay, top rope, lead climbing, and bouldering. Could do with a small gym, even small free weights on the second floor. Same great route setting as the other Hangars.

Absolutely love this place! It's packed with all the necessary materials, walls, boulders, auto belays, free rock climbing, ropes, shoes bags of chalk, fans for cool down, restrooms fully equipped with lockers, provides a variety of of levels from beginner to advanced, and most important of all, their staff. This hanger has a wonderful staff. They are professional, friendly, happy to be at work, committed to the safety of climber ‍ and theirs. I definitely recommend this location!

Ask anyone who knows me well and they'll tell you that I'm DEATHLY afraid of heights. I can barely look down from the second story of my home. Yet here I was climbing four times that (I think)! What kind of monster actually LIKES subjecting themselves to such heights?! I was never that brave to find the fun in doing something like this and to be completely honest, I'm still not sold after hours of braving my version of Mount Everest. But I can see how people find this thrilling and healthy like any hobby/sport. First timers might be intimidated by the sheer size of the wall and the amount of experienced climbers who look like they can parkour their way out of every situation ever. I tried two versions of climbing: auto belay and the other one where you rely on your buddy to make sure you don't fall. Believe it or not, auto belay was scarier for me because of that one second you're in free-fall before the machine actually activates and catches you. You just gotta trust that it'll catch you. Luckily the employees were nice and showed us all there was to climbing and I had friends, who are clearly nuts for doing this every week, to show us how to tie knots and the basics of climbing. Veiny arms, sore legs, sweat, anxiety, thrill, wedgies from the gear, and a healthy dose of fear. It's definitely something to experience, and for me it was pretty fun! Fellow climbers are very helpful and friendly, and don't judge you for making a fool of yourself. Definitely go with a group if you can, it's more fun when your friends encourage/laugh at you for being a complete newbie. As for me, I'll be spending more time at the tennis courts and airsoft fields. Maybe occasionally I'll visit this wonderful, terrifying playground. Happy climbing!

Packed gym, as others have noted. It's pretty popular after work hours on a weekday, and even on a Sunday when I came right at opening time, I was alone for about 2 minutes before 4-5 others came along. But I'm very impressed with the sheer number of routes here and how one entire section is for top rope. There are plenty of V0-1 routes for beginners to try, and the more intermediate routes were fun and doable. This will likely be my home base as I've been to the Rancho Cucamonga location and those routes are a lot more difficult.

Great place for a full send. Love the atmosphere, good times, friendly staff and fun routes.

On a somewhat boring afternoon, my wife located an online coupon for indoor rock climbing at Hangar 18 in Upland. My wife and teenaged nephew participated, and I provided safety and security. Hangar 18 was packed, and it appeared completely chaotic. The male staff member with the mustache assisted us with registering, signing the waivers, and getting suited up. The staff member was serious when giving the safety instructions, which I appreciated. At one point, my nephew seemed to drift away while the staff member was speaking. The staff member quickly got my nephew's attention to make sure he was listening; awesome. There was a decent sized birthday group that was occupying most of the beginner area, and we had to wait a long time for space to clear. Once the space cleared, the wife and nephew started up the wall. They did a great job and had a lot of fun. Again, kudos to the staff member; no injuries were sustained!

I've been to different hanger 18 locations, so far I really like Orange location and upland location It's pretty packed during the weekends, however if you go pretty early should be fine. My friends and I had great time on Sunday morning. Most importantly, the membership is kinda cheap so most of people could afford it. Will recommend it to my other friends for sure.

Not only is Daniel a great climbing instructor but he's an aspiring actor!

Had such an amazing time! Daniel at the front desk was incredible! Super nice and knowledgeable! We were a bit confused about all the class options for us and our kids and he went through each one and gave us advice on what was best. By the end of our visit we divided to get a membership and Daniel talked us through all the options!

Im planning to take my 12 year old niece to this place, does her Mom need to be present during the activities? Can her mom sign the waiver in person and leave me with my niece?

Her mom does not need to be present but will need to fill out the waivers for your niece before coming to the facility. As long as there is an adult present and a parent or legal guardian has signed a waiver for the minor, you are good.

I have a six year old interested in climbing, is this age appropriate or should I wait a little longer to bring him? , Also I'm really not that active 😅, is it possible for me to just watch and cheer him on from the sidelines?

Your 6 year old can most definitely come and climb with us! At that age we highly recommend them climbing on the ropes only. We will be more than happy to help get you guys set up for that, and you are more than welcome to come and not climb. We… Read more

What sort of fitness equipment does the Upland location have? Specifically, do they have barbells and weights?

None. They don't have any workout equipment of that sort.

Do they sell equipment there too?

You can rent shoes and harnesses. They sell a few pairs of shoes there as well as chalk and a few other accessories but it's not a huge selection. Rentals are 3$ for shoes and 3 for the harness, every time you go and need them.

Do they have autobelay systems?

We do in our Riverside, East Riverside, Long Beach, and South Bay locations, but not in the rest of them. Take care, and we hope to see you in here!

Coming into the parking lot, I'd say be careful driving past the gate; the gate isn't secured properly to the cement on the floor, so it pops up, making it hazardous for your tires. The workers here are very chill, just like any other gym, though climbers are very chill in general. They're very helpful and friendly if you ever need them. They keep the gym very clean and the bathrooms well stocked. They are also always quick to notice you and provide support if needed. The routes here are a range of difficulties. The basic routes here feel slightly more difficult than other gyms, helping you build your core. They reset the walls on a weekly basis, which encourages you to come back. Last year I successfully climbed to the top of Yosemite's Half Dome - without a doubt, it was one of the most memorable + accomplishment-filled outdoorsy adventures I've ever experienced. My first rock climbing adventure is definitely up there. In fact, my Half Dome adventure is what sparked my interest in Rock Climbing. By the way, if you're looking for an amazing Half Dome experience, I highly recommend REI Adventures and book with Scott - be sure to check out my 5-star "Half Dome Day Hike" Yelp review. Scott is an avid Rock Climber and he knows all the cool and underground rock climbing spots :) I've found that it's challenging to find people who love outdoorsy adventures like me. So, I usually end up doing these type of activities solo. I book directly through adventure companies to help ensure I have a safe, education and of course a FUN experience. Booking through "Rock Climb Every Day" couldn't have been more perfect from start to finish. In fact, I'm looking forward to booking another adventure with them. They cater to all levels of rock climbing from beginners to experienced. Most of all, they know how to make outdoor rock climbing easy and fun. They offer beginner rock climbing classes, rock climbing adventures, rappelling adventures, private instruction, family climbing packages, multi-day packages, parties + groups, climbing anchor class, sport climbing, trad climbing and much more! I consider myself a complete novice rock climber. Absolutely no experience - not even indoor climbing. Crazy, right? But I do consider myself athletic as I competed as a pro-Am Muay Thai fighter for almost a decade. Even with that kind of experience, I found the climb to challenging, scary, but most of all, FUN. Our instructor Jim was knowledgeable, timely, communicative and fun! Without his guidance, I don't think I could have made it to the top of the 5.7 climb. He was there every step (literally every inch) of the way. It was truly a "team" effort. We completed 6 climbs ranging from 5.4 to 5.7 (level of difficulty). There were a total of 4 people in our group. 2 had some indoor experience and the other 2 (including myself) had zero experience. And let me tell you - I'm scared to death of heights. Scared AF!!! But isn't it amazing how the BEST things that ever happen in LIFE are the ones we were resistant to get involved with because of fear?? Trust me, it's not easy but stop running away from fear, run towards it! If you don't take action now, you likely never will. Your fears will win + will continue to win until you break the pattern. Start saying YES to fear. The scarier something is, the more you need to do it. I couldn't have overcome my fear of rock climbing without the help + guidance of "Rock Climb Every Day." What are you scared of right now? Rock climbing? What are you telling yourself you can't have, not yet? Rock Climbing? What are you trying to "figure out first"? Rock Climbing? My advice. STOP thinking. STOP trying to figure it out. Say yes to fear; yes to uncertainty. Say YES to Rock Climbing. Overall, an amazing 5-star experience with Rock Climb Every Day. Book your adventure at https://rockclimbeveryday.com - maybe I'll see you on my next adventure? :)

The first thing I thought upon entering was that this is by far the neatest gym I have ever been to. Second, I did not have to wait at all; Coach Yajen was very punctual. Third, I realized he was serious about my well-being when he started by asking what I was hoping to get out of signing up with his gym. Then he gave me a realistic outline of what I could expect from this type of training. Once I began going to classes, I saw that the coaches really enjoy what they do. They even invite members to join them for events outside the gym (such as indoor rock-climbing, pickleball, and Spartan races) for which they have no financial incentive. The community of members is so cheerful and supportive of one another that I did not feel out of place, even on my first day. Three months in, I am surprised that I could still regain strength and conditioning so significantly at my age. But what has truly amazed me is how Yajen continues to follow up. He uses objective measures, such as body composition scans and the Level Method criteria, to report my progress to me, in writing, every 1-2 months. He sends text and email messages reminding me to show up for these measurements. He checks in with me whenever I go too long without asking him any questions. He knows my weakness (poor eating habits) and periodically nudges me with specific suggestions to improve. I had been with several fitness trainers, and even another Crossfit gym, in the distant past. I can honestly say none of them had ever shown this level of dedication and integrity.
