So excited that I am the first one to review this amazing gym! Although on the outside of the building it states cheerleading / tumbling gym.....once you open that door you are in a second home. Greeted with friendly smiles and happy kids! My daughter has been a part of United Elite for a few years now and refuses to go elsewhere. She has bonded with the owner, coaches and her teammates like a secondary family. I have seen my daughters passion for the sport grow as she gains a blossoming confidence. I don't even know where to start when it comes to saying how much my family loves UEA. We my girls have been a part of the UEA family for over 4 years now. The coaches and staff are always amazing and welcoming. They are patient and kind. They encourage little girls to be LITTLE GIRLS and don't pressure them to grow up or mature quicker than they should have to. The spirit and enthusiasm that each of the girls here has for their gym is contagious and you can see and feel it at every practice and every competition! Well, Im writing this review on behalf of my daughter and wifes experience. Definetley do not recomend this company and we will not be returning. This company has the most un -organized sports program we have ever encountered. Times and dates have changed more times than we can count. The person at the front desk has been un-communicative and rude. If texting on your phone while trying to talk to concerned parents is professionalism then this place rocks....not. Finally, and i think it to be the most SHADY part of this entire program is the "raffle". Girls are required to sell raffle tickets for maintenance in their gym. No opting out of this raffle though. If you dont sell the $100 worth of tickets(which has to be cash given to them) your credit card gets charged automatically, and that $$ doesn't go towards the gym, it goes towards their own company which trust me, we have put in a lot of money for our 9 year old. This is borderline stealing and I am contemplating reporting them the BBB. Do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY from this company at all costs!! read more

My niece has been a part of this gym for several years now and it amazes me how much her strength and confidence as a young girl has grown. The family that she has made in her coaches and friends is something that she cherishes. My sister's work schedule sometimes doesn't allow for her to get off work in time so whenever I have had to help out and be the designated driver for my niece, the staff and other parents are always so welcoming and I've never had any poor interaction as I have experienced in other establishments. In any competitive sport (my experience with my own kids sports as well) sometimes there is a level of pettiness and gossiping amongst adults; which ends up reflecting on the kids, none of which have occurred here in the years that my niece has been here. It definitely seems much more family oriented and focused on the kids. read more

September 5, 2018 Dear SBD Upland/United Elite Cheer, I would like to bring up a matter that happened in the month of March 2018, not only once but twice to which both times caused my daughter Jennessey Fierro to cry and not want be a part of Upland United Elite Cheer any longer. Before Our Vegas Competition.. As a concerned parent I don't believe she was treated fairly or in the proper way when it came to the fact that she wasn't able to get a routine down quick enough. My daughter was addressed as to being called "retarded" the 1st time & the 2nd time questioned if she attends "school". Which in my opinion is another way of addressing her intelligence? Children at times attention span is not as great as an adults can be but I know my daughter is capable of getting a routine down. She may not have been as quick both of those days but I know it doesn't have to do with her intelligence. My family and I have enjoyed your gym and loved being a part of it. My daughter was committed to being a part of the team and hardly missed with the exception of a few days. For her to not want to attend practices any longer concerned me as a parent which showed me she wasn't addressed in the correct manner. She should have been encouraged, motivated, lifted up so she may have the chance to get the routine down correctly not bullied by a coach/mentor who she is being entrusted in. I feel it was unfair & harsh for her to be addressed in this way or manner. Especially in front of her own piers that believe she wasn't treated right. I did try to contact Owner Renee white.. So I may discuss this with her, since it was her own daughter who treated my daughter this way, but she has yet to contact me. Instead I have been blocked & deleted from all sources of contact. Facebook and all.. OThis is such an unprofessional way of handling this situation. Being that I am a paying parent & didn't mind paying for what my daughter loved. I am bringing this up so no other child is treated in this manner. I have always thought of your organization to be more professional and not wimp out in facing or speaking to a concerned parent. We love UEA, we have 2 daughters 7 and 4 that cheer and have attended tumbling classes. The coaches are amazing they push our girls to give it all they've got, and treat them like family. My girls cant get enough of Coach Katy and Courtney. Renee the owner has an awesome welcoming personality, we really feel right at home. My father always taught me, if you don't like a business, don't bad mouth them or get angry, just don't go there anymore. Having said that, I typically don't leave reviews on Yelp, good or bad. However, after looking at the reviews on UEA, I decided to put in my 2 cents. We accidently stumbled into the world of cheer while looking for simple tumbling classes. Next thing you know, my 9-year-old daughter had a bow in her hair and a bedazzled uniform on her back. We finished our 1st season of cheer [with another gym], still not knowing the name of the gym owner [never even seen the person], with coaches who spent half their time texting on their phones during practices, So I thought, ok, this kid loves this sport and is good at it, hmm, maybe I should see what else is out there. That is how I discovered our 2nd home, UEA. I had good feelings about this place the first time I called. I was greeted by Renee [Amazing Gym owner], who answered all my questions and then some . Through the years, I've seen Renee go out of her way to make each season, as positive and memorable for both the kids and the parents. Can't say enough good things about this wonderful person. About the coaches, what can I say, they are all knowledgeable, caring and patient, but let me add a note on the Head Coach Desmond. Not only is he an extraordinary coach [who's been on a Worlds winning team more than once!], but he is an amazing mentor. I can't thank him enough for helping my daughter grow into the confident young lady she now is. Sadly, because of UEA's fantastic Cheer program, my daughter, who is now 15 years old has "leveled out" of UEA, so we have moved on to a bigger gym. We run into Renee, Desmond and the other coaches every once in a while, at competitions. When they see us, it's always the same response from them: Hugs, joy and best wishes. All I can say is if you are thinking about having your child join a cheer program, have questions and need guidance through a crazy adventure called the "cheer world", I highly recommend you call UEA, where even if you move onto another gym, they will always be your biggest cheerleaders, yup, that's the UEA Family way.. read more

I have never been compelled to write a bad review about a business before, but in this situation, I feel that others need to be warned about the unethical business practices of United Elite Allstars/South Bay Divas. I purchased the 6 week trial package and because this was around the holidays, my daughter was only able to go maybe 4 or 5 times between the weeks that the gym was closed for the holidays and because we had a previously planned trip out of town. Nevertheless, my daughter enjoyed the classes she took so I spoke with Renee about signing her up for one session a week. When I filled out the paperwork to get her started, I noticed that the price per class was different depending on whether or not she were to take one class per week or two. It also listed the classes as priced per year (for one class week) or 6 months (for two classes a week). When I asked Renee about the one year/6 month time frame she said that it was just on there because that is typically the time frame that it takes for a child to move up to the next level. For example, a child only taking one class per week would take about a year to progress enough to move up to the next level. Knowing that my daughter's end goal was to make her high school cheer team, I asked what would happen if she made the team and these tumbling classes no longer fit into our schedule and she couldn't do them anymore. Renee told me it was not a problem, it was just listed on the paperwork like that as a reference for how long to expect it to take her to move up a level. I trusted her word on that. My daughter was able to move up to the next level after about 2 months of classes. One evening, she came out to the car and was complaining that her shoulder and neck hurt because the coach looked the other way when she went to do a back handspring and she fell. I was understandably concerned, but I know that we are all human and mistakes happen so I chose not to say anything to the staff about it. But when it came time for class the next week, my daughter didn't want to go. So I let her take that week off to get her head straight. The following week she went back to class but when she came out after class, she said that the same thing had happened to another girl in the class. After that, she didn't want to go back. I gave her a month, maybe a month-and-a-half to see if I could convince her to go back, but she didn't want to. I called to cancel her classes and was told that I had committed to a year of classes. I explained to the girl that Renee had told me that it was just a frame of time for reference. She said that she would speak to Renee and call me back. She did call me back and said that I was going to be held to the years worth of classes and they could either continue charging my card every month like they had been or I could pay the remainder in one lump sum. Up until that point, I hadn't said anything about my daughter falling when she was supposed to have had someone spotting her because my end-game wasn't to get someone in trouble. I get that no one is perfect. The coach apologized to my daughter when it happened but my daughter ended up being too gun shy to continue going back. It turns out that our conversation was being held on speakerphone and Renee spoke up finally and told me that she had never said anything to me about not being held to a time frame and that my story kept changing (which it hadn't, I just hadn't initially explained why my daughter didn't want to continue going back because I didn't want to throw anyone under the bus). She got pretty nasty with me, insisting that I was lying. No resolution was reached by the time we hung up. I did not sign a contract saying that I was committing to a years worth of classes and was responsible for that amount in full whether or not my daughter continued to go. It seems that Renee disagreed with me because she attempted to charge the card I had on file $552 as soon as we got off the phone. The charge was declined because that particular card had expired shortly before all of this transpired. I was then sent an invoice saying that the amount was due in full within 30 days or it would be reported to credit bureaus and sent to collections. After speaking with a family member who is an attorney, I was told that she could not, in fact, report it to the credit bureaus and the "contract" I signed for them to charge my card every month did not bind me to owing a years worth of class tuition, therefore a collection agency would not even take it on. I let it go because, at the time, it wasn't worth the hassle of doing battle without knowing whether or not she was going to try to take further action. Fast forward 2.5 months and I get an email this morning saying that they tried to charge my account again for the $69 monthly class fee. All of this has already been documented with my credit card company and an attorney, and now I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. read more
