But once we settled in, we noticed something incredible. People are naturally competitive, and when there's no healthy outlet for that, it often turns inward--leading to unnecessary tension and hurt feelings within a studio. Here, competition is used in a positive, uplifting way. It brings everyone together, builds teamwork, and creates an environment where dancers genuinely support and cheer for one another. We love all the teachers here. My daughter has had the pleasure to learn from Miss Sarah, Miss Mackenzie, Miss Randi and Mr Ryan. (Musical Theater 1, Musical Theater 2, tap 1, tap/ballet , jazz and HipHop)He went from a boy with anxiety to this confident performer. He was in his second musical Mary Poppins this past weekend. To see him perform with the biggest smile made me cry. He was confident and was so excited about the show. The show was AMAZING!!!!!!!!It's been great watching not just my son but many of the cast members just grow in theater. Thank You Mr.Frank and Mrs.Yesenia for bringing out the best in my son. She told him to come back the next week and try again. He tried again and he felt that he couldn't do it. Miss.Jack told him to think about it , she believes in him, if he still don't feel comfortable he can enroll after the summer showcase and start from the beginning. She was very sweet to him. On our way home he decided he wanted to continue!!! His words " mom , Miss.Jack believes in me. I want to take her class , I can do it " He's doing amazing. She knew how much he did want to take her class and encouraged him. I can't wait to see him on stage in June for the summer showcase. I also want to give a shout out to the parent volunteers.They're very helpful, it was so nice to hear from them how Andrew has grown so much in theater. Another shout out to Kyle , the front receptionist for being helpful and answering my million questions haha. Us parents don't just cheer for our kids we cheer for all the kids. Where all these other dance studios in the area the children are actually learning how to dance. She picks favorites and she let everyone know that your kid is not valuable of her time, but yet she expects you to keep paying and paying for her to treat your kid like they don't mean anything. However with the constant change in instructors how can they see the children's progress? My daughter imagined being one of the oldest dancers in the studio. That was her goal. I truly thought she would be. Unfortunately it sadly ended for us at the last competition. The team that the owner cared for the least and in her words.. "I don't like HipHop" was the the team that actually placed in competition. Versus her favorite Company dance group. The Favoritism shines in this place. You can see who the favorites are. They are the ones that constantly perform in every dance performance. Would bend over for those parents. Sadly all other dancers were just for show. I do recommend it for little kids under 10 to look cute in a Christmas or expensive costume. Anyone over 11 years... they will not advance. My daughter was not a ballet or jazz dancer. We never received a welcome call or much guidance on what to expect. Thankfully, our daughter was assigned to Ms. Kaylynn, who was wonderful. She was attentive, patient, and clearly cared about her students. We were enrolled in tap and ballet, and the regular classes went smoothly. Unfortunately, once recital time approached, our experience changed. Communication dropped significantly, and there was no rehearsals for the entire showcase. As first-time dance parents, we would have appreciated an in-person or virtual parent meeting explaining what to expect. During the recital, our daughter's class froze on stage. We understand these are very young children and nerves happen, but we expected the teacher to step in, encourage them, and give them another opportunity to perform. Instead, the show simply moved on. It was heartbreaking to watch after seeing how hard the children worked. We also felt the communication became focused primarily on money. When registration renewal came around, we received calls just two days before the recital stating that our child could not participate if we didn't pay. Paying was never the issue--we had already paid for her costume, pictures, and recital tickets. It was the timing and approach that was disappointing. We rarely heard from the studio about anything else, but suddenly received multiple calls when payment was due. It left us feeling like our experience as toddler parents wasn't valued and that the focus was more on collecting money than supporting families. Picture day was also very hectic and rushed. The photographer seemed overwhelmed, and with such a tight space, I think separate picture days for younger and older dancers would have been much better. Overall, we truly enjoyed Ms. Kaylynn and the regular classes, but the recital experience, lack of communication, payment approach, and organization were disappointing. We hope the studio takes this feedback seriously and creates a more supportive experience for its youngest dancers and their families.
