My daughter loves joining the 4 year old ballet and tap combo class. The lady at the front desk is always helpful and has amazing patients with people and kids. They even offer rental shoes if you forget. It's just nice to see my daughter having fun in a clean and safe environment. Only setback is their limited seating for parents so get their early if you want to sit down. Another setback is parents bring more kids (siblings) and they climb over you while you are waiting. read more

I would not recommend this studio for children ages 2-5, especially for first-time dance parents. We registered through the city, and from the beginning, communication was lacking. We never received a welcome call or much guidance on what to expect. Thankfully, our daughter was assigned to Ms. Kaylynn, who was wonderful. She was attentive, patient, and clearly cared about her students. We were enrolled in tap and ballet, and the regular classes went smoothly. Unfortunately, once recital time approached, our experience changed. Communication dropped significantly, and there was no rehearsals for the entire showcase. As first-time dance parents, we would have appreciated an in-person or virtual parent meeting explaining what to expect. During the recital, our daughter's class froze on stage. We understand these are very young children and nerves happen, but we expected the teacher to step in, encourage them, and give them another opportunity to perform. Instead, the show simply moved on. It was heartbreaking to watch after seeing how hard the children worked. We also felt the communication became focused primarily on money. When registration renewal came around, we received calls just two days before the recital stating that our child could not participate if we didn't pay. Paying was never the issue--we had already paid for her costume, pictures, and recital tickets. It was the timing and approach that was disappointing. We rarely heard from the studio about anything else, but suddenly received multiple calls when payment was due. It left us feeling like our experience as toddler parents wasn't valued and that the focus was more on collecting money than supporting families. Picture day was also very hectic and rushed. The photographer seemed overwhelmed, and with such a tight space, I think separate picture days for younger and older dancers would have been much better. Overall, we truly enjoyed Ms. Kaylynn and the regular classes, but the recital experience, lack of communication, payment approach, and organization were disappointing. We hope the studio takes this feedback seriously and creates a more supportive experience for its youngest dancers and their families. read more

The communication can definitely improve and that is why I'm giving them 2 stars. For poor/ missed communication I missed my daughter's group photos. They didn't even care to send out an email to the parents that got information wrong when we picked up our daughter's dresses. read more

I take my niece here for dance and she loves it. The teachers are nice and patient because she was really scared the first few classes. By the third class she was hooked and I think she will be doing dance for a long time to come. Everyone is nice and we love it here. read more

My 4-year-old daughter attended tap and ballet classes at this studio for about five months, and unfortunately, the experience was far from satisfactory. During this time, she had two different teachers. During her first class my daughter wasn't given any clear instructions and had to simply follow and mimic what the other girls were doing. I remember the teacher didn't even ask for her name during that first class. It was clear that the first teacher lacked enthusiasm and leadership.... Since I had paid in advance for the classes through the Ontario Community Center, I hoped things would improve, but they didn't. Every week, it was the same routine, there was no progression or effort to teach the girls anything new and my daughter quickly lost interest. I'm not sure if the class was either too large or the teacher didn't have enough time to properly focus on each child. What I noticed every time was that if someone didn't get the dance moves right, there was very little attempt to correct them or provide individual guidance. This lack of attention and care was a bit frustrating to say the least. The second teacher, who took over after a few months, was slightly more mature and had better control of the class. However, the approach was the same, repetitive routines with no real engagement or focus on the students' development. While she managed the class a bit better, it still wasn't enough to keep me bringing my child. What my daughter really enjoyed was the show-and-tell time and the little stamp she received at the end of each class. read more

Update since the Dance Shop replied... Evidence? What evidence would you be looking for? Bruises or something? Come on! It was evident when I spoke with the lady at the counter and my daughter's teacher who apologized profusely about what happened. Or when the owner took me into her office to apologize too but then said how the other little girl and her sister takes a lot of classes there so you guys would do the best you could? All you guys did was make it even more awkward the last couple classes by the other little girl being super rude to my daughter telling her how her mom said not to talk to her or at the show and tell at the end of class the other little girl yelled at my daughter not to touch her stuff. This could have been handled so much better but I guess so my daughter only took 2 classes a week there it wasn't worth it to you guys. read more

We've taken classes here for the past two years, one on the competition team. We love it! My daughter has built life long friendships and grown so much as a dancer. She is confident and fearless and it is all from her experiences dancing at the shop and on stage. I take the barre class and have never felt better, I get to take my daughter to class and have some time to myself. read more

A great place to take the kids to get their energy out- my kids like the little ninjas class. My nieces take ballet and tap and their mom is extremely happy with their progress. They have a cute store in front of the studio- so it's nice when you need dance items and want to try it on in person. read more

So happy that this place is here. Want to say we have been here six months. My six year old daughter enjoys her ballet and gymnastics classes and she just started a "ninja" class with her eight year old brother and they had a blast! In a couple of years my wife would like to enroll my daughter in the hip hop class. The classes are a great way to engage our little one socially and physically instead of her going to her fallback of screen time. Refreshing to see diversity in the cultural and racial backgrounds in the families who have their children here. read more

This place is awesome! My daughter has been going there over a year now and loves it mainly because the staff is great with their methods of teaching. If you have a young one who is interested in dance there is no place better than this one. read more

I decided to pull my child out of this studio. Not because she didn't enjoy going there, or because the instructors were not nice. But, because there is a SERIOUS lack of diversity at this studio (read in between the lines). It's not the studio's fault at all, of course. I believe it is just the Ontario population...not sure. My child told me one day, that no one looks like her in her class and the girls don't talk/play with her. That made me sad to hear this. She now attends a Dance Studio in Rancho where that City leans more to a diverse population. She is so much happier now and has 3-4 different types of diverse little girls she sees. But more importantly, there are other kids that finally "look like her"! ;-D read more

Great dance teachers at an affordable price. I went to this studio as a child, and I was so happy to see that, even though they moved, they're still in Ontario and hold the same values as before. They treat their dancers as individuals and take the time to grow each child. I'm so happy to have my children in this studio. read more

I've been to a few dance shops over the years for my two little ones and I find that I like this one the most. This is a family owned business. The two daughters bought the business recently from their mom and completely renovated it. It looks really nice inside. The family is very nice. They will give you a sibling discount. My kids attend dance class once a week and if you miss a class you can take a make up class of your choice. I recommend Kaylin for the young children as she is one of the most patient dance instructors I have ever witnessed. My children love her and she knows how to connect with the kids. If you aren't sure about dance for your kids, I recommend you start them off through the city of Ontario's Recreation Department, which is an inexpensive way to start. Unfortunately, the recreation department is closed until further notice. In case you are concerned about cleanliness, they spray the dance room between sessions and the kids are required to wash hands before and after sessions. Masks are optional. I recommend this business. read more

I have been bringing my daughter here since 2016. She started in the Creative Movement class, and is currently taking Hip Hop & Tap. All the teachers are great. Really great place for the kids to learn dance techniques and make friends. She loves coming here, very family oriented. read more

Firstly, let me begin by saying I had a great experience a year ago when I first had my daughter in creative movement. I don't remember the teachers name but she was so sweet and energetic. My daughter was 2 at the time. Now she's 3 and we did the free day class so she can try out another dance class to possibly continue here. I wanted to give it a great review because I had such a great experience last time. But this time it was different. I don't usually like leaving bad reviews but I don't want another parent and most importantly another child go through this. She seemed nice during the beginning of class while stretching and such but as the class progressed the instructor didn't seem patient with the kids and got flustered when they would do things wrong. It was my daughters first time so she was not going to do things correctly the first time. She used a very strong voice and it intimidated my daughter. It was a lot of "no, you're doing wrong. No no, look at me when I'm talking to you. You are not listening!". My daughter had fun because it was her first class but I will not be taking her back again. They're young so they get easily distracted but the lack of patience and most importantly the way the kids are spoken to is disappointing. I will not let her be intimidated when it should be a fun thing to do. Front desk is also so crowded. The owner seemed nice but I didn't like watching my daughter's body language when she was being scolded by the instructor. I also had another family member take their child a month before and they thought the same. We don't recommend this place. read more

Both of my daughters started about 2 months ago. They love it they look forward to their class every week. Ms. Sally the owner is amazing such a beautiful person. Love the Dance Shop! This was my daughter's second year on dance team and their lyrical got double platinum and third overall; and their large hip hop team got platinum and 4th overall at nationals! My 7 year old daughter just started a gymnastics class and is loving it. She was so nervous on her first day but her teacher made her feel right at home. There are no redeemable qualities at this business. The owner is clearly in over her head. I submitted an incident report via email, text, and I even printed it out for her. She never addressed the problem, and played it off like she was too busy to assess my concerns. The short review is stay away. This place is totally mismanaged. read more

In all honesty just don't go here. It's really bad and there's a lot of drama and issues. The owner talks about other parents kids and teachers behind their back. I noticed that there used to be a lot of people on the team but majority of them left for good. This one child keeps taking my child's stuff and does not play gently and distracts my kid from going in class and I never see her go into any class of her own. There are kids running around and screaming. They leave the front desk all the time without another worker watching it. They call like a crazy bill collector when you don't pay right away. There are kids in the office that is supposed to be for staff. They do not enforce their rules. I'm so glad that I took my daughter to another studio a couple weeks ago and she has progressed so much more at the other studio. read more

The dance shop is like a second family. My daughter has learned so much and has tons of fun doing it. Thanks to Sally and her staff

TDS is a great dance studio that makes even the newest dancer feel at home. They are great with the kids and always offer one free class to try out to see if your child will enjoy it. They have their own inventory at a low cost which helps when trying to find the right accessories for your child. The instructors are great and our family will continue to go there. read more
