The Rhythm Addict dance studio team is amazing! There are so few locally owned studios in the Inland Empire remaining to begin with. Finding one with quality instruction and great owner/operators like this is REALLY a rare gem! 1) From the front desk to the dance floor with GREAT instructors, this place is PROPERLY staffed! 2) The facility is beautiful, functional, and equipped. Classes are fully separated, sound systems are great, and they keep the studios nice and COOL even in the summer for all the hours you'll be sweating it out while you learn. 3) Class format and teaching style is second to none to get you to your goals fast, and learn more progressively, to build competence and confidence. 4) If you need to change before or after work, there are even ample restrooms (which are very clean) for the volume of customers they have before and after class. There's even a professional scheduling/enrollment/payment system for classes. What's the alternative to this place? Big name chains, you KNOW who they are. Cramped JUMBO single-studio room with 2-5 classes happening in the same room, packed over crowded floors you can't even move around on treating you like you're cattle, different genres of music shooting out of cheap floor speakers from all directions of people learning different material concurrently in the same room, sweating it out in 90 degree rooms where they frequently claim the air conditioning is broken to keep their utilities/overhead low. You can't make this stuff up folks lol. I've been to 4 separate studios in the Inland Empire in the last 5 years besides this place, and I SWEAR all of these things have been re-concurring themes in our community. If you get the unlimited membership it is not what you think. You still have to pay for side classes and their "Salsa Y Mas" which I don't recommend going it is EMPTY. The bachata is the only thing I recommend and most students just go for that and do the other classes elsewhere. Some info. *if there isn't enough student reserving the class in the application they WILL cancel the class. Meaning the class isn't guarantee unless there's a minimum of 2 or 3 students reserving. *if you going to cancel or freeze your class do it two months in advance, if possible in writing as each contract will depend on it. *Salsa y Mas is a joke, it's empty and should be part of the membership but they charge so might as well go to a club with more dancers. *Nov & Dec you WILL pay for full membership even so they will cancel classes for the holiday. So you will pay a month fee but won't get those Holidays reimburse! Recommend to freeze those month and do it before September to try to guarantee it. *they cancel the last New years event at the studio as there wasn't enough demand which was ridiculous pricing of $45 ish. Which I was told by a formal student that last year it wasn't recommended as it was empty. *Bachata traditional everyone recommends this place but for ALL other classes I suggest look elsewhere. Especially Salsa, the owner is the teacher and she's isn't ideal that people come there not to be perfectionist and to competition but to learn the best they can to social dance. The owner Ester isn't a great teacher she isn't caring and supported. Don't believe me, find out yourself and enroll to this school that is over price to quality they offer. I have truly learned the fundamentals on how to dance these genres of dance thanks to all my instructors detailed/technical instructions and continuous feedback. My wife and I have been dancing at this amazing studio since 2019. Our primary instructor/owner, Esther Garrison, is a true professional. Our focus has primarily been couples ballroom dances on Friday evenings. Esther has taught us many styles such as the Swing dances, Rumba, Waltz, Fox Trot, Nightclub Two-Step, Tango and others to include Salsa and Bachata. When we started we didn't know anything. Now we are confident to dance anywhere. This ability would not have happened had it not been for Esther's teaching. She is certainly the best in the county, and one of the best in So. Cal. And as for her Salsa and Bachata lessons, those occur the other days of the week. You would be hard pressed to find anything better. Hence her classes are well attended. Her studio also hosts Salsa and Bachata dancing events on special Saturdays each month called "Salsa y Mas." Those are simply a blast! As are the Ballroom social events on the last Friday of each month. All-and-all, this studio has it all. Now that the studio has moved to a bigger location that offers three huge dance rooms, and a smaller room for private lessons, this studio is the place to learn in all of San Bernardino County. Not to mention Rancho Cucamonga, and Ontario. So if you are interested in learning to dance, or to sharpen what you already know, I highly recommend this studio. California civil code 1812.50 sec. b We wanted to give a rating of 5 but that only applied to our experience in the first couple of weeks. After about a month and a half or two of taking classes we moved onto level 2 in salsa taught by Esther the owner. The problem arose when we tried to move up to level 2 in Bachata. We were told that in order to move onto level 2 we had to take the class with Elvira, the only person who decides if clients can to move to level 2. When I asked her about my wife and I moving on she said "you are not ready but you can stay and observe the class". Feeling very disillusioned I told my wife to speak to her to see if she would have a different response. When she asked her about us, she said we needed "at least 6 months." My wife made it clear, as I did, we knew our son had just started and we did not expect him to move on for some time. But she reiterated and she and I were "no where near ready". After talking to Elvira, we went to the front desk to talk to Esther. Once again Elvira reiterated that we needed a minimum of 6 more months. Elvira seemed bothered by our inquiry, she didn't explain what we steps we needed to learn to advance. After we let the owner know the following week that we were canceling our membership, she said she had never had anyone do 6 months of bachata before advancing to level 2. Esther said she would talk to Elvira but also said she had been asking Elvira for a structured program to evaluate when someone was ready but had never written up such structure to advance. Elvira eventually spoke to us 3 weeks later but only after Esther insisted she speak to us because there was "some misunderstanding". She said she thought we were talking about our son and not us but that we could join the level 2 now. When I asked her several clarifying questions she kept changing her story and saying she couldn't remember. We felt we were spoken to as if we were children and that we did not communicate well on those three different occasions. The next week we decided to cancel but when I spoke to Esther she said she could not "accept" the cancellation form until the 1st of the month, 2 days before the date she indicated. That was the second time we had requested the cancellation forms she required based on the contract she had us sign. I asked her to email the form to me but she did not do that. When we finished the last class we took after having the last face to face cancellation discussion, she was very cold and appeared upset we were canceling and treated us as if we made a mistake or offended her. The next day we emailed her canceling our contract by siting California Civil Code 1812.50 sec. b that states we can cancel at any time. This goes against what her contract states that you are basically committed for a minimum of 3 automatic withdrawals and we must give a 30-day notice which means you are now stuck for 4 months. Needless to say she agreed to end the contract but only after we sited the Civil Code. I have been to multiple teachers, club lessons, personal lessons. By far this place unfortunately was the worst. You have to be in a membership to advance up in classes and wait for an "opening". Basically you could go really advanced and have to spend around 500 dollars to do things you already knew. If your a beginner poor thing. She can sound pretty condescending at times. Music is fun and beautiful, you should go in willing to make mistakes and feel the music. lol not here it's almost like a very structed drill instructor who dances a very formal style. I suggest if you do this class go to other classes also and see the difference. Also the salsa community has classes before clubs and you would pay little to nothing and be able to practice and learn more. I know it can be intimidating but trust me it's scary at first but way more fun. It's funny because at the end of the class which was salsa one and you get to practice with music. what did we learn 3 ways to do a cross body lead. But once the music is one it's game over for me. I don't even think I just started dancing and 3 women told me oh wow thats level 3 here. I said that's what they teach you at any other class and they don't label it one two or three. Is my technique perfect heck no lol. But the idea was that in those moments the women I danced with were having fun. If I did something they didn't know we did it again, again, and again. Head Instructor and Owner Esther structures classes on one hour blocks. Classes are divided by style and skill level. Prices are very reasonable. If you're looking to learn Salsa, Bachata, Swing, Tango, ChaChaCha, Line Dancing, or even Waltz, this is the place. Esther places an enormous emphasis on building a strong foundation, so you have good base of knowledge as you advance. While this can be frustrating the first couple of classes, it definitely pays off in the long run. She creates a welcoming environment in her classes by mixing dance instruction with humor. Knowing my fiance had zero experience with dancing, we were in desperate need for a few lessons so we could have a great and memorable "first dance" at our upcoming wedding. We searched many studios out where my fiance lived, but after being disappointed with the major studios who promise you the world and then can't deliver (or at least not for the price they claimed online) we broadened our search to include Rancho Cucamonga. In comes Esther at Rhythm Addict, a breath of fresh air! She was straight forward and honest. There were no hidden fees or sales pitches and she works around your schedule to find something that fits. We decided to give her a try. It took about 15 minutes into our first lesson to know we made the RIGHT choice. She was able to really figure how to teach him (and us) to dance. This was not an easy case, everyone struggled, but she never gave up on us. She made it fun. Last night was our last lesson, wedding is in two weeks. An honest review from a Latin dancer who has taken multiple classes all across Southern California, from beginners to premier classes in Los Angeles and San Diego. I came in wanting to join a beginner's class to humble myself and see the "style" of this teacher's class. I want to refrain from being crass, but the way the owner handled my questions from one dancer to another was very condescending. I understand that everyone has the right to run their studio the way they want to, but suburbans beware, you are being scammed. For those who have experience in Latin dance and want to find a kind community who is welcoming of all experiences, this place is not for you. I understand that if you are a beginner, sure mandatory foundations class is good and understandable to introduce you into Latin dance structure, but to also have you pay EXTRA for the next beginner class where you actually get to learn Latin dance is wild to me. Essentially you are paying $50 for a beginner's class that you could easily find at a Latin social dance for $10, where you also get to experience a live band and teachers and skilled dancers of various levels who can teach you more than a group class can. I am coming from a place that wanted to find a supportive dance community in the IE, but instead was met with a money making scheme. If you want to learn salsa, it doesn't have to be this expensive. I personally have had over a year's training under a Broadway performing college professor who has won numerous awards in Latin Sance competitions, but the owner of this studio wouldn't allow me to take an intermediate class, and not even a beginner's class without taking a foundations class which in total would have been $75 for my first experience at her studio. So tell me, is that fair? While the receptionist was kind and I understand the owner was about to start her dance class, I just found the whole system to be a way to make money off of people who don't know any better. so WARNING: if you really want to learn how to dance salsa, just do your research and find a social. You don't need to pay so much for a supposed "structured" class in suburbia. Truthfully, YouTube has everything and Zumba classes can teach you rhythm. My husband and I took a 10-week private dance lesson course with Esther to learn a foxtrot to "The Way You Look Tonight" by Frank Sinatra for our first dance and it was fantastic! We had so much fun and Esther was a great instructor that made us feel comfortable. What we appreciated about her most is that she actually TEACHES you how to dance. We've gone to so many weddings where there was an overly choreographed first dance where the bride and groom looked so concentrated on each and every step in their routine vs. flowing through a dance and having fun. I came across RADS when I was looking for swing dance lessons. They have a variety of classes: Salsa, Ballroom, Tango, Swing, and Yoga, and my fave - Pole Fitness!! So since I was taking pole fitness classes at other places, I decided to try one here. I got there and there were couples coming out from the room, like 5 of them and it was fun to see that couples really do these kinds of things together and enjoy them. The room is surprisingly large, the decor is intimate and there's mirrors all around so you can see what you're doing. Always wanted to learn salsa. But with two left feet it felt way out my league and Intimidating. But the older I get, the less I care so I put the awkwardness aside and I've signed up. It quickly became evident that with proper instruction anyone can dance! I wish I would have done this 20 yrs ago!!! You don't need a partner. The instruction is easy to follow. She repeats, repeats and makes u repeat. You practice steps on ur own at her count and then u practice with others. I showed up in my Keds while sum of the girls changed into pumps. I like that u have to be tested in order to jump to the next Level. But most of all, the instruction is remarkable and the price is reasonable. read more
