Skating here is okay. DJs are solid. The rink has a lot of wear and tear and is understaffed. Parking is a challenge. Many cars get towed. There isn't a snack bar. The vending machine is a joke. The inoperable 5 bumper cars takes up a lot of space. The rink is small and functionally obsolescent. They should close and remodel the rink. Get a better snack bar and layout. Increase the size of the rink floor. Remove the benches in front of the bumper cars, bring the wall back. The highest and best use for the skating rink is to increase occupancy and generate revenue with modern amenities/entertainment and refreshments. Virtual reality, laser, and simulation are popular. Some skating rinks have mechanical bull rides. I like the vibes and parties at Skate Express. Sunday nights get real crowded. The floor is too small! I can skate but sometimes it's a major hazard to enter and exit the rink floor after 10pm. I will admit, the younger generation has a lot more daredevil in them. I'm disappointed in Skate Express's business practices and its attitude towards patrons at adult sessions. Sk8 Solutions Let's not blame age, race, culture, or patrons for a common retail entertainment problem. Dodger and SoFi Stadium do not complain to their patrons about littering and loitering. They have business strategies and measures in place. Trash and clean-up are normal business expenses. The "hurry-up and leave attitude; don't disturb our neighbors with your presence, noise, or patronage. Just leave" attitude is sickening. I've been to morning, afternoon, and evening skate sessions and trash is always in the parking lot. Logically, if the parking lot has not been cleaned during business hours, there is going to be more trash by closing at 1am. Solutions: Put trash cans and/or dumpsters in the parking lot for patrons. Make parking paid valet only. Block off the entry to the parking lot with weighted and chained cones so there is 1 entrance and exit only. Lease overflow parking for patrons or give discounts/incentives for carpooling. Loitering and disturbances at gas station: there isn't a snack bar with food, snacks or refreshments being sold. We all get hungry and thirsty after skating for 2-4 hours. Many of us drive between 45 mins and 2.5 hours to visit the skating rinks, it's a long drive home after a full day. Skating provides much enjoyment--we want to make it home safely. Solutions: Rent out the snack bar to food caters or food trucks; Solicit food trucks or hot carts to sell food to leaving patrons; Sell high-quality refreshments geared towards adults and sports recovery--hydration drinks, protein drinks, trail mixes, recovery drinks with amino acids, energy drinks, etc... It is the responsibility of the business owner to ensure its establishment has good business practices and strategies--whether it safety or litter control . Don't blame patrons after services rendered, and say "certain populations are bad patrons". The ladies restroom rarely has soap or paper towels refilled--the bathroom is filthy. The owner is responsible for all aspects of business; stop creating illogical and predatory rules; create solutions. Again, littering is a problem everywhere. The movie theaters clean up their parking lots and theaters after closing. Unfortunately, this workforce doesn't want to clean floors and litter. I understand cleaning up at 1am after a long shift isn't fun. If employees cleaned while they worked--instead of standing around talking, the business would have to do less cleaning at 1am. read more

If I could give a 0 I would, The music is always the same and never switches it up , unless if it's Saturday. Some of the staff is rude, so are a lot of the customers. The food is REALLY bad, the pizza in thin and taste really weird. The floor of the actual rink is chipped and not smooth at all, and the skate rentals are also not that good. Floor guards are not helpful and are also VERY rude. I would recommend taking a little more drive to skate somewhere else. read more

I've read the reviews.... And I'll say my experience was far from any of that. The rink was clean the music was incredible and everyone was there to have a good time! The management team and security set up was a very well organized which really helped with event entry. Hope more people respect their simple rules.... Understand that this business is someone's livelihood and act like you want these doors to stay open in your neighborhood. I drove all the way up from mission valley to support! Everyone was super friendly and sweet , we had a lot of toddlers around and they let us use our strollers and walkers inside so the mommy's had a great time . The level of trash that this place was- is beyond words. I dropped my daughter off for a birthday party. When I came to pick her up, they would NOT LET ME GET MY DAUGHTER without paying full admission for myself and other child who was not skating. Before leaving the premise I had asked if I needed a hand stamp or anything. The employee told me no. She directed me to leave through the back where birthday parties were allowed entrance. When returning retrieve my kiddo, I was denied access, being told I had to pay to pick up my kid. An old woman was arguing with me, banging on the window flapping her arms about gesturing to the entrance fee sign. I explained to her that one of the employees told me I could step outside and come back in WITHOUT a stamp- otherwise I would have gotten one!! When initially dropping off my daughter, no one said a word about me coming in. I saw a bunch of other people fighting with the same lady at the ticket both. What a ghetto operation. The referees came in and dragged us to the middle of the rink and stated that slow skaters have to skate inside the oval at the center of the rink. Went on a Sunday Adult 24+ night. Nice rink! Dry cashier Rude referees Terrible Dj that spans the tracks and plays lots of music about gangs and guns! Dj also picks on new comments on the microphone, " Get off my wall, " he yelled 30 seconds after entering the floor in a are that didn't cause any obstructions for anyone! He also yelled that people should hold on to there ladies really tight as if they were gonna be taken away some where before the New Miss Booty tract was played! Terrible taste in music and customer service! Customers should only frequent the family friendly nights to avoid the night club bar crowd, atmosphere and garbage DJ! The lack of alcohol didn't improve anything! Only gave one star because it was so horrible! The kid friendly times are 100% better and without the metal detector / security at the entrance! I came to Skate Express tonight with some new skates I bought during the pandemic. I skated as a kid and was pretty good. now that I'm 54 I was very rusty. I got out on the floor and thought the skates were needing some attention. Dana at the merchandise counter was so helpful and adjusted them for free. Skating a lot smoother I picked up my pace and started to feel the DJ mixing in the soundbooth. Unfortunately I fell. I actually did the splits and fell hard! My left quad took the brunt and was not able to get up. All of a sudden, I had a group around me helping and protecting me from the skate traffic. I grew up at the skate rink and I have never seen the help I received from these angels. I wish I got some names to thank personally but they helped me off the floor so gingerly and caring without enough time for me to get their names. Especially want to thank the beautiful black female floor guard for her help untying and removing my skates. Also the two people that put their arms around me to get me to safety. I can't thank you enough! I highly recommend Skate Express! Although it was a short outing the kindness shown to me by the staff and clientele will not soon be forgotten. God bless you!!! This place is run down, smells and the people are rude and it's over priced. I had to pay even though I'm handicapped and can't even skate. They let everyone hang on the sides of the walls to watch others skate. And the supposive "dj" spells out the rules...but the little butt buddies of the skating rink don't have to abide by them...they all have their phones out....they not skating backwards on a backward only skate.... totally dislike this place. read more

I used to love going to Skate express as a kid, I'm almost 30 now and I was highly disappointed in adult night. They should change the title to experienced night. If you're a beginner, adult nights are not for you. They have the "fast lane" on the out side and the slower people in the middle. If you need to get out, it's basically do or die. Tonight as I was trying to get out of the roller rink, I almost made it out until some literally shoved me out their way making me fall on my back and smacking my head on the floor, luckily not too hard since I my back took the brunt of the fall. These skater just fly through and they don't pay attention. This place is not beginner friendly or lets you ease into it slowly. Even if they could break up the night 30 minutes for fast skaters and 30 minutes for slower skaters. Gives everyone a chance to actually enjoy the rink. But it's just continuous fast paced. I don't write a lot of bad reviews - but here we go .. - If you buy tickets in advance you still have to wait in the ticket line to get in. It is cheaper to buy in advance - that's the difference. AND ..... I was told NO HATS, I was wearing a baseball hat (ugly hair day/medical hair loss) I looked all over the website - don't see info about it anywhere. What I did see however was PLENTY of other people wearing hats. None of them made the adjustments that I was told to make and NONE of them fit my demographic either. I won't be back. This place is not family or beginner friendly. I typically go to the adult nights, but regardless, this place caters to advanced skaters only. I have many complaints about this establishment, so let's get started. 1. Rude employees. NOT ALL OF THEM ARE RUDE. However, one boy in particular in his young 20s has been rude to my mother and I every time we have the displeasure of running into him. The other employee who i find even worse is an older man who looks just like Ice T. (If you see him, you'll know.) He singles certain people out for certain things that everyone else (the advanced skaters) are allowed to do. I came for my birthday with a birthday crown (which was a secured headband by the way) and he tried to tell me i had to remove it or purchase a hat clip. After a few minutes of convincing him it wouldn't be a problem, he let me wear it, HOWEVER!!!! Once the music started, there were about 10 other people with hats on the floor, NO HAT CLIPS, and not even wearing the hats securely on their head. As soon as I started skating, he told me i needed to go to the middle because i was going slow, (i wasn't, but i was a little wobbly) so i listened and went to the middle. HOWEVER, once the music started, there were a few girls going at an extremely leisurely pace, even compared to me-- a beginner. I think it's pretty clear he picks and chooses who has to follow the rules in the rink. 2. Chaos, and no consideration for beginners. I typically come during adult skate, and there are many clubs and groups that are advanced skaters and very good at what they do. These groups tend to be very rude to beginners by moving them out of the way, cutting them off, and doing tricks that they can't land, tripping people in the process. I experienced this yesterday when one of the advanced skaters didn't land a trick and stopped right in front of me with his long a** leg sticking out, causing me to fall and him to get his skates caught on my pants (that ripped.) The advanced skaters have no concern whatsoever for the people they cut off nor do they watch where they're going when doing complicated maneuvers. There should be some rules in place to ensure the safety of others. Some people are in the intermediate stages of learning, where we can skate fast in the rink, but not dance, go backwards, spin, swing each other around, etc. and it shouldn't be such an unfriendly environment for those who want to be better skaters. On top of this, the rink gets PACKED, like 50 or more advanced skaters doing twirls and dance moves without double checking who is around them while doing so. The larger groups also tend to stop by the walls even though there is a no stopping rule, and they also completely block the entrances onto the floor. 3. CREEPS! Men, there is no reason why you need to put your hand on every female's waist that you pass with the excuse of us "being in the way." I had an incident with an older man that grabbed my waist for literally no reason, since he was able to get around me without issue. I understand a tap on the shoulder or maybe a verbal cue because I understand I'm not good at maneuvering around others yet, but seeing as men tap each other's shoulders when they need space, yet feel the need to touch women's waists, backs, and hips because we "need to move out of the way" is complete BS to me. I got into a verbal altercation with this man who was upset that i told him to keep his bleeping hands off me, and he said I needed to move out of the way even though I wasn't in his way, and even though he could have shouted or tapped me on the shoulder. Beware of predators here. It may seem innocent, but i PROMISE it isn't. 4. I already said this, but NOT BEGINNER FRIENDLY!!! Now, if you're just learning how to skate and you want to learn, you can definitely practice here, but they will force you to stay in the middle of the rink. Yes, the middle. Where there are no walls for balance and nothing to help you break your fall. Oh yeah, and the advanced skaters also take up every inch of room in the middle practicing tricks so that people who don't know how to stop or maneuver around others or even skate in a straight line can have the most difficult time possible trying to learn. As someone who is barely able to skate around the rink without falling over anymore, stopping is difficult, and maneuvering around people holding hands, twirling, and doing crazy tricks is EXTREMELY difficult. If you're forcing beginners to stick to the middle and stay away from the walls, why the hell do advanced skaters get to take up all the space for everyone else??? The beginners have a 10 foot circle to practice in, THE ONLY AREA THEY ARE ALLOWED TO PRACTICE IN, whereas the advanced skaters have 10x the room on the outer edges, but they still get to hog the middle???? So fun! Great for a birthday party or just a fun evening! Prices are very reasonable. Kinda have to hunt your party coordinator down if you need anything (and remind them to bring your add ins to the table) but other then that it was all very easy and the kids had an awesome time! Came on a Saturday night for the "Family Skate Night." It really is anything but family friendly. They cater towards their advanced regulars. The floor of the rink is so old and needs refinishing. There are divots everywhere which makes it hard to skate. The rink is also very small. It was also super crowded and the rink was packed which makes for a dangerous time trying to dodge and not get hit or run over people. The music was so so, not very family oriented. We paid over $70 for our family of 4 and were so disappointed we left after about an hour. My kids couldn't really skate comfortably. They force the beginners to the center so they have to cross rush hour traffic to get to the middle- very dangerous. This place needs to limit the single adults coming for family skate night. Save it for the 9pm session. And refinish your floors and take pride in your establishment! read more

Really indifferent about my feelings here. Like others have said not beginner friendly, went for a fun/different date night and while I am not a beginner and can skate, I am not FLYING by people as well. We were ushered multiple times to get to the center to go slow or basically get off and practice on the carpet? To be fair on the carpet is a very different feeling then while on the floor. We only stayed about an hour and cut our losses. I see what multiple reviewers mean by the regulars and extreme skaters get privilege's and "take over" the whole place. Other then that, it's decently nice. Obviously old and was reminiscent of my old skating birthday parties I had as a child. Hope to return when maybe it's not full of advance skaters only. When I stepped in the door I was immediately taken back to my childhood where I lived on roller skates. I remember begging my mom to take me to the Great Skate so I could spend hours skating in circles on the rink while boogying down to some hip tunes. The décor was pretty outdated, which to me had a nostalgic charm. You can rent quads or in-line skates if you did not bring your own. They ask that shoes are not worn on the rink unless the DJ allows it for special contests or events. Rules also prevent cell phone on the rink, which is more a safety restriction that I appreciated. Everyone was pretty chill and friendly there: staff and patrons combined. It was as if we were all friends and there wasn't a strong stranger danger vibe. The place was really stuffy and I would have appreciated a better air conditioning system. Maybe it is because I am more used to ice skating now or maybe I'm just less tolerant in my old age. I understand that it was summer and Chino is hotter than where I live, so I tried to not complain too much. This is the standard rink where you are supposed to skate in one direction. The DJ played a mix of oldies and contemporary tunes. It seemed to appeal to everyone and the rink was pretty packed at times. It was awesome to see all ages on the rink from small children to senior citizens. What was the most fun was the contests and specials skate activities: limbo, hokey pokey and YMCA. If you were recognized by the staff for your efforts or achievement during these fun activities you received a coupon to redeem for a prize. We won popcorn and a glow stick. Yes! Extreme nostalgia. All this time on the ice has made me forget how much fun a good old roller rink was..... I just wish the air conditioning was working better. read more
