If you bring your own you don't have to rent or pay a fee, just your ticket for entry. It's been more packed now so the line to get in is longer, getting a table is harder, parking is worse. PARKING: The parking lot is small so I had to park around the block, but it's not a long walk. But now that's it's busier you have to drive around the block tryna find street parking. INSIDE: The place itself is super cute. They have a small store where you can purchase skates and skate accessories, They have tables and lockers, Vending machines, photo booth, the skate rental area, bathrooms and floor is carpet(for safety) and of course the skating rink. FOOD: They also sell food and beverages. And have vending machines next to the rink. Water, Soda, pizza, slushys, popcorn, nachos and a few more things I can't think of right now( basically snacking food). Online they have their calendar with the "events". Each "event" is themed/based on a. Artist, music genre, or age range. Some nights are 18+ others are all ages. So I would recommend looking into the theme of the night before going. read more

I would give negative stars if I could! Stay away! I am writing because we had my daughter and her friends joint birthday party today. The girls were so excited and have been begging to have a party there. The manager there was nothing but rude & hostile since the moment we arrived. She made the two birthday girls cry and told us us we cannot use the desert we brought for our kids which is a candy cake i made for the kids and small cups of shaved ice (I have been to a party here and was served this same shaved ice before!) I was not told that we could only bring cake or cupcakes. It did not say that on the forms I signed. Our kids do not eat cake. Then she said if kids don't eat cake that's why they make exceptions for other things, so I asked them why can't you make an exception for this and she said she wont but wouldn't give us a reason. She said her higher up manager would need to approve it so I asked to talk to her and she gives me a card and says she won't be available until Monday. And then just walked away and never came back. We were supposed to have a party host, no one helped us with anything. Other people on their staff were kind and said they were sorry for how the manager acted and that they would've let us have the desert but for some reason this woman immediately decided to be rude to us. On top of this they up charge for every little thing, the pizzas were teeny tiny and the drinks were served in weird dirty Rubbermaid pitchers. Needless to say we will NEVER be back and tell everyone we know to stay away. If i hadn't already paid the deposit and had 20 kids on their way I would have left. Let me be very clear: this place does not want you here -- at least, not if you look, sound, or skate like you're from the culture that literally kept roller skating alive for the last 30 years. The wheel policy is where the bias gets embarrassing. Staff will stop you at the door -- or yank you off the floor mid-session -- over your wheels. Fiberglass wheels which is a stape in the SoCal Skate Community for "floor safety concern," while soft wheels on the rec crowd roll right past without a second glance. There is zero scientific or mechanical basis for this. It is not about the floor. What those wheels actually signal is the skater's community -- and that is exactly what's being policed here. The wheel thing is a well-known dog whistle in the community. Rinks have been using it for years as a clean, deniable way to turn away skaters they've already decided they don't want. "It's a policy" -- sure. A policy applied with laser focus to one demographic while everyone else gets waved through? That's not a policy. That's a pattern. You can feel the culture being managed out of the building in real time. Management has that particular talent for plausible deniability -- nothing they do is technically illegal, so they think that makes it acceptable. It doesn't. The urban SoCal skate community built its entire identity on rinks just like this one, and watching this place treat that community like a liability rather than the lifeblood it is? Deeply embarrassing for everyone involved. Two stars only because the floor itself is decent and the rental skates are clean. Everything else -- the wheel profiling, the coded hostility -- is a one-star experience dressed up in a rink uniform. There are other spots in SoCal that actually want your energy. Came here on a Friday night for their Old School R&B session. My wife bought tickets in advance and handled my skate rental while I went to find parking. The lot fills up fast and the surrounding neighborhood doesn't offer many options, so I ended up parking at the nearby Home Depot and walking over like a lot of other people. There was a long line to get in. My wife got inside before me while I parked. When I arrived, I was told I could go to the front since I already had a ticket and skates. I gave the woman at the door my name and explained my wife had already paid for my rental, but she didn't believe me. She shut the door on me multiple times while trying to verify. I had to text my wife to come confirm it. Eventually I got in, but it was frustrating. One of the male employees did apologize to my wife, which I appreciated. We skipped renting a locker and just left our stuff in a bag on top of the lockers. Once we got on the floor, we had a good time. The rink filled up quickly and at times it felt a bit crowded. There was a mix of beginners along the outer edge and more experienced skaters in the center, with everyone trying to find their lane. Saw quite a few falls, but the staff in referee shirts did a solid job keeping people moving and enforcing the no stopping rule. They don't allow cameras on the rink, but phones are okay. Overall, despite the rough start at the door, we still had fun. It's one of the few rinks in the area, so we'll likely come back and hope for a smoother experience next time. read more

I booked a party for my daughter at this skating rink! There aren't many of these places left! Downside party host staff member was rude and unacceptable in her conduct towards my family and I. I enjoy my overall experience other than that. The parking lot is small so I recommend going early before doors open sometimes there is blocked and double parking. My daughter enjoyed her party and birthday announcement at the sent of the rink. The pizza was a bit small but the music and ambience were nostalgic! You can pay entrance at the door or online to save a few $. Quad skate rental can only be done at the rink, you can bring your own if you have. They have skate assists to rents as well and a snack bar, so no outside food, and lockers are available for your personal belongings. I usually don't bring anything valuable and leave my bag with basics under a bench, but this is at your own risk of course. Music is a fun mix and always a good time. Moonlight Rollerway ruined my daughters 9th Birthday. We showed up with a box of happy ice (that cost $170) to serve our guests, instead of cake and the manager did not let us serve it. When we asked if she could give us a reason why she said no, she could not give us a reason. Then she said we could speak to another manager to get an exception and then handed me a business card and said "she'll be in Monday". She made my 9 year old daughter cry at her own birthday party. She was miserable and rude and unprofessional. The other staff members came up to us and apologized on her behalf but did nothing to solve the problem. So we ended up ordering donuts to be delivered so we would have something to serve our guests. Such a cute and nostalgic place to skate! I'm a beginner skater and everyone here was so nice! The rink is well kept but still had that 80s vibe to it. So fun! The four of us all loved it! We went on Sunday at the 1:30-4 session and it was great. There is a bit of a line to get in but once inside it's great! It was not too crowded. We brought our own skates and one of my skates broke and they were so nice to let me use a rental skate without the fee thank you we also got the cheese pizza and chicken tenders and it was good! It was a fun time. I do wish it was a little cheaper so we could go more often but they seem to be doing great so why would they change that. I would definitely come back! Honestly I really liked this place lol it was super cute. I came for date night and it was disco night! The playlist was 10/10! I don't think this place is very beginner friendly tho. I wanted to share my experience at Moonlight Rollerway in Glendale because it really wasn't what I expected. I'll take responsibility for not checking the website beforehand--that's on me--but the pricing setup was still pretty frustrating. Entry is $25 per person for a three-hour session (8-11 PM), which already feels high. On top of that, if you don't bring skates, you're required to pay an additional $8 for rentals--even if you don't plan on skating. Being forced to pay for something you're not going to use didn't sit right. The food and drink prices were also excessive. Charging $4 for a basic bottle of water is hard to justify, especially when you know how inexpensive it is elsewhere. To make matters worse, outside food and drinks aren't allowed, so you're stuck paying those inflated prices once you're inside. With everything combined--the entry fee, required rental, and high concession prices--it ends up costing way more than expected. Honestly, for that kind of money, you could spend a full day somewhere like Knott's Berry Farm and get a lot more value. Overall, the experience felt overpriced and inflexible. Definitely read the policies ahead of time so there are no surprises. In addition to that, their managers are rude and unreasonable. I will not be back. read more

This location is very comfortable because it's monopolized roller skating in its area. There are no competing roller skating rinks to visit if you don't like this one, so for families with kids that need something to do, or if you have a passion for roller skating and want to pursue your hobby on a proper rink-- this is the only place you have to visit. This location is run like an airport. You cannot bring your own water, drinks, or food. They charge you fifty cents to refill a water bottle just to have water, since you can't bring your own. That may seem like a small amount, but with hundreds of visitors being charged for water multiple times during a physically taxing activity, where you have to wait in line to get it, it's a lot. They have lockers for your items, but you are charged EVERY TIME you open and close the locker. If you're a parent who doesn't want to roller skate, but wants to support their children and watch, you are charged five dollars each. Everything about this rink is designed to drain you of your money, and to provide nothing back for it. The AC system isn't adequate-- the place constantly feels stuffy, wet, and moist with sweat from many bodies. It's constantly hot, and the ventilation systems must be breathing their last dying breathes. The entire facility is old. Ancient. All of the excess money that this rink makes is most certainly pocketed by someone, but it's not put back into the facility aside from basic upkeep. This rollerskating rink is not for you if you're on a budget. You can't come here regularly unless you want to burn through your wallet. That being said, if you can't stand rollerskating on the street or in your local sidewalks, this is a functional rollerskating rink. I'm not giving it a one star because it's not literally falling apart at the seams, so you can actually use it. The surfaces are clean enough, and kids have the privilege of looking past the costs and having fun. They do lights, games, and hold lessons. They've got special trainer equipment for people who're learning (each is eight dollars because everything here is charged), and rental skates of every size for every foot (also eight dollars each). PLEASE STAND CLEAR OF THIS PLACE SAVE YOUR MONEY THEY DON'T DESERVE IT I honestly don't understand how this skating rink is still in business. What we paid just to get in as a family was outrageous, especially considering the endless restrictions and poor treatment once inside. You're not allowed to bring in water, even for children, and instead are forced to buy overpriced concessions. The atmosphere was miserable. Staff repeatedly yelled at the kids--kids who were simply trying to skate and have fun. There was no patience, no friendliness, and absolutely no customer service. It genuinely felt like the employees didn't want to be there and took that frustration out on customers. The front desk clerk acted as if she had authority to speak down to people. The tone was rude, dismissive, and completely inappropriate for a family-oriented business. The food was terrible--clearly microwave-quality and nowhere near worth the price. To make matters worse, the way staff interacted with our family felt uncomfortable and discriminatory. As customers who are not white, we felt treated differently and unwelcome, which was extremely upsetting. This place needs serious attention from management--from customer service training to basic respect for families and children. I was extremely disappointed with my experience at Moonlight Rollerway, mainly because of the staff. The staff members were rude, impatient, and very disrespectful toward both children and adults. Instead of being encouraging or helpful--especially to inexperienced skaters--they acted annoyed and spoke in a harsh, condescending way. This is supposed to be a fun, family-friendly environment, but the staff made it uncomfortable and stressful. Children who were clearly still learning were treated poorly rather than guided or supported, and adults were spoken to with the same lack of respect. There was no patience at all, just constant attitude and irritation. For a place that welcomes beginners and families, the staff's behavior is unacceptable. Got to the venue. Small parking lot, was full, be prepared to walk a few blocks. Got to the window and immediately was told "you can't bring in your water bottle"...I thought they would say hello first lol I asked to speak to a manager because I was on medication and needed to stay hydrated. She then told me "I could buy water inside". I asked where the water fountain was, she stated "The water fountain had been gone since covid" - it's 2026 I think it's time for it to come back "OWNER" I then asked can I have a free water cup from the snack bar? I was also met with a "NO"...The owner doesn't allow any water to be provided for free in the establishment you must pay $4.00 for water. I asked if this was legal in a public establishment of this sort. She continued to say they did not legally have to provide consumers with a source of potable water because they were not a restaurant, just a snack bar. She said the fire department told her that, which is funny because I'm pretty sure it's food health and safety that would be telling you that. So with 5 minutes of research I see that, this is not accurate. In California, they are required to have a source of free potable water at a skate rink due to the nature of their business and heat illness issues possible. I hope the "OWNER" reads their yelp reviews. What's really sad is we had a great time...but FIRST IMPRESSIONS are everything and caring about your customer with a medical reason especially should be your priority not making $4.00. My husband and I went to R&B skate night and it was extremely crowded. We were able to skate and enjoy ourselves for about 30 minutes into the session as we were one of the first couple people in the rink, but after that it was hard to skate. The rink itself was overcrowded with all different ages and levels of skating. People were falling all over the place and there were tons of bystanders. It's simply not enjoyable to skate somewhere that's overcrowded with people and I also feel like the dress code should be enforced more. Lastly, people are so ridiculous that they were parking wherever and not in an actual parking spot or on the street. Moonlight was very fun! Had around 22 guest come join me on Sunday from 8-11pm and it was an absolutely perfect night. Highly recommend coming during one of their night sessions as it's a great experience for adults. 23-25 dollars for ticket plus 8 dollars for skates was worth it for the fun! I do know the staff is strict but just follow the rules and be respectful and you'll get that back. read more

Guess this is the only existing roller rink in Southern California? I honestly haven't been roller skating since high school. You have to pay for entrance even if you're not skating. Our friend decided to opt out of skating and had to pay the $18 entrance, which is not ideal but I get it. But if you're a parent and your kid is skating you can pay $5. Rentals were about $10. This was what I remembered in high school except more little kids with these skating assistant rollers that frankly seem like more of a hazard. Overall this is a cool spot. Moonlight Rollerway is a simple, retro indoor venue for a fun rollerskating experience. It's nothing fancy, and it's not meant to be--it really does feel like a time warp when I go, but that's part of the charm. It's just good old fashioned rollerskating fun. Best time in my opinion is adult skating nights and or skating at night when there are less kids. Nothing against them lol, but it's just easier and more enjoyable to skate when less little ones darting in and out. The rink is large and spacious, probably like a standard indoor rink which is sadly a rare find these days. They also do a fantastic job posting regularly on social media; there are lots of fun themed events and skate nights. The safety staff that skate around to ensure everyone is ok is much appreciated--I see 1-2 of them each time and they are all chill and seem to enjoy what they do. I never had a significantly negative experience with any rude employees like some reviewers. One particular woman who works there has been very nice to me. She's there all the time and has been kind and helpful to me. But one time, one young woman at the front entrance window seemed annoyed by a simple question, but other than that, I didn't have a negative experience that would deter me from going again. Oh, and I like that they sell skates and accessories too. I haven't purchased from them but they have a nice selection. There are a few things I don't like about Moonlight (nothing terrible, just something to note). Most importantly, I don't go often because the entry fee is steep, and I have my own skates. Other than that, the concession stand is very basic, they could at least update the snacks and a simple renovation would make it a little nicer. At the very least, better snacks and food would be nice. They also charge 50 cents to fill up water, there is no free tap water which I don't even think is allowed. They do have vending machines with water bottles and drinks, as they don't allow outside drinks (which I get, for safety reasons), but to charge for tap water isn't right. With all that said, I wish I could go more often but it's pricey, and that is the only reason I don't go much. For now, I mostly go to LA Kings outdoor rink in Burbank because it's less than half the price to skate and it's also a large rink. But sometimes indoor in a retro space is nice too, so I'll definitely return back to Moonlight to get my rollerskating rink fix since it's the closest indoor rink to me. Happy skating! read more

The two workers out front were extremely rude from the moment we arrived. There were only about 20 minutes left of skating, and we were simply going in to watch our kids and pick them up. We were told we had to pay an entry fee even though we were not skating, which I have never experienced at any skating rink before. This policy felt very misleading and honestly came across as a scam. On top of that, the poor attitude and lack of basic customer service made the experience even worse. When you work in a customer-facing role, being respectful and professional should be the bare minimum. Also, no water fountains, the staff wont fill up your personal water bottle (which you aren't technically allowed to bring in). you probably would make more money if you lowered entry prices, or had better customer service. $60 for 3 hours for 2 people is insane. Imagine going out for a night and it's $60 not including any sort of dinner. Would have been more fun with a larger crowd, or even any music that isn't just ariana grande on repeat. Walking into this place feels like stepping into a 1930s regime or modern-day North Korea--restrictive, unwelcoming, and strangely enough, it smells like a mold-infested basement. I brought my son here for a birthday party for one of his classmates and needed to step outside for an important work call. When I asked to step out, I was told that if I left, I would have to pay the entrance fee all over again to get back in. Their "generous" alternative? I was told I could go into their bathroom to take my professional phone call. When I asked about the logic, the staff member explained that she has this policy because she "doesn't know if I'll be doing drugs or drinking" in the parking lot. Treating paying customers--and parents--like criminals for needing five minutes of fresh air and silence is a bold business strategy.
