First time visitor located on the Long Beach 2nd and pch shopping plaza Parking structure with free 90 min parking then cost after every x amount of minutes Can purchase tickets online and there are various specials and add on .. keep in mind if you aren't skating there is a $5 spectator fee .. also can bring own skates or rollerblades Skate sizes will be asked if renting and they will Provide a size below that so feel free to swap out if needed Service was friendly and upbeat Rink was on the small scale with the middle for a more manageable pace Padding on some of the walls and plenty of places to stop sit store belongings Upbeat vibes with request of music to be played Cute photo areas in each corner of the rink Twinkle lights above No ac just open air breeze and fan Cute for families and date nights but of course can add up so check for the specials online Also no restrooms are available in the rink or purchase of food or drinks fyi Glad to have tried it out

They could do some touch up in this place. My wife's wheel fell off mid ride play I see another bolt missing on another wheel. The ceiling light bulbs are needing replacement as well. Hopefully no future injuries.

We love Pigeons Roller Rink. The price is $15 for a day pass. Always friendly staff, clean, good music, nice atmosphere. My daughter first started roller skating here and we come back again and again. It's nice that this year they have free classes for kids.

I purchased tickets for my daughter and I to roller skate on a holiday. This place is so cool and the girls at the front desk were extremely helpful. The rink is decent sized and there is an area for the kiddos or for people who don't want to skate fast. The reason why I gave 4 stars is because they do not have a walker for the kids/ people who need help with skating. I understand that this is a pop up skating rink but it would be nice to have that instead of having kiddos/ people fall. Other than them not having the walker, I really enjoy skating at this place.

My skating skills aren't up to par, but I can't wait to give it another try! I've been wanting to try things that take me out of my comfort zone, and I loved skating when I was younger. I came across Pigeon's Roller Rink after a few searches, and let me start by saying that it is not for slower skaters. There is a small area in the middle for slower skaters, but it is not the best. For those who are less experienced with skating, they have different times for different levels. Although the rink is located outside, it is covered. If the weather is bad, the rink will close. Rental skates cost $10 and the price for at least 3 hours ranges between $10 and $15. As you skate, it's like going back in time with the 1970s tero vibe inside. A DJ is offered on certain nights, which is awesome. I had a great time skating with my friends and listening to great music. The place is a great place to hang out with friends. The Wholefoods parking lot offers 90 minutes of free parking; after that, it's $2 for every twenty minutes. This parking lot is close to the ice cream shop. When you leave the lot you will see a Chase bank on your left. Walk on the side of the Chase Bank and you'll run right into the rink. My skating skills need to be improved, so I'm looking forward to going back.

TLDR; the staff is VILE!!!! There was a misunderstanding between myself and a team member. She handled it very poorly, lost her temper, snapped and sassed my 17 year old sister and I for an honest mistake. Truly, my bad about the initial misunderstanding. Here's what happened: For the January 6 event: - One flyer said 18+ for the event this night - Another flyer said "All Ages Welcome" for the SAME event I asked her to clarify if it truly was 18+ or not, since we had driven from far just for this event. She called her boss to see how to proceed with letting my sisters skate, who are both minors. She asked if I had tickets, & I responded "I didn't buy tickets for tonight, I have the tickets that you gave me LAST time". (Because a few weeks ago they gave me free entrance tickets. And we were here to redeem our free entrance.) I was unaware, but this interaction gave her the impression that I had made previous reservations for THIS very specific night, January 6th. Misunderstanding. I did not intend to make it seem like I had reservations for this specific night. Because I didn't know I needed reservations. When she was going to check us in, she asked what name my reservations were under. I responded that I don't have reservations. That's when I find out my free entry tickets are called "pigeon passes". Beats me. Idk what the difference is, it's my first time. Why would I be expected to know what pigeon passes are versus other types of tickets that require reservations? I had tickets for my free entry, that's all I know. And that is what I INTENDED to communicate to her the first time. It was a misunderstanding. What happened next was very uncomfortable and intimidating. this was not a passive aggressive situation. She got a HIGHLY aggressive tone and attitude. Before I could further explain, she looked to a coworker to loudly complain about the fact that we had "pigeon passes" (again, IDK what that entails). It was humiliating. I was shocked. I obviously didn't mean to make her upset. The rest of the transaction was heated on her end and I became so uneasy. She gave us our skates and she walked AWAY from us. My sisters and I looked at each other... confused. We didn't know what to do next. I was hoping she would come back and tell me "okay you're all set." Or have us sign a waiver of liability, or something. We didn't know what was next. Since she had completely left I just kind of assumed my "pigeon passes" included the cost of the skate rental and that we were good to go. I thought maybe it was free? Idk????? We slowly started walking away since, well, nobody told us anything. Then she SHOUTS across the way, "MAM YOU DIDNT PAY!" which is totally true because I was not prompted to pay, or asked to pay, or told to wait or ANYTHING. She had completely walked away. So I pay with no issues. The entire time I am STUNNED that she would be so aggressive! Does she own this rink, or what? Not sure why she was so mad. Then my sisters informed me that the same staff member gave them the side eye all night and made them so uncomfortable :( DONT WORRY, Pigeon team members, we will stay out of your hair forever and obviously won't be back because that was legit SO AWKWARD AND UNCOMFORTABLE and I swear I am not a mean person lol I did not deserve that treatment. Also why was I not given a liability waiver? this photo of two minors at the 18+ night! :)

Fun venue to kill some time at this mall. They have rental skates for you city slickers, you can bring your skates. This place is right inside the middle of this mall. Just park and pay inside the parking structure. It was a little hard to find, just look for the RV camper parked outside of this venue. The check in and pay involves an electronic wavier that you can sign for you and your group sequentially. Our afternoon entrance allowed us to skate until 2 pm. The rental skates were actually in good shape. The rental wheels are urethane and maintained so you are skating safely and having a great time! The age group of the patrons varies from elementary to adults. The floor is clean and maintained for a smooth glide for your skating experience. I would come back here again, it was fun and reasonable prices

    Cute spot to take pictures!

If you're in the mood to do something different, look no further! In the 2nd & PCH shopping center is Pigeons Roller Rink. It's a cute, hipster, roller rink where you can roll to your hearts content! The employees were so kind and made you feel so comfortable. You can bring your own skates or rent some at the counter! You can add songs to the queue which makes roller skating so much more fun! There's also a rated parking structure you can park at. Overall a super fun date idea or place to hang out with friends!

Sunday skate... Good vibes and good music. Staff were helpful on giving first time skaters tips. Wish the rink was a bit bigger. Otherwise, we'll definitely be coming back again!!!

Indoor skating rink - level 1 class

Took a level 1 learn to skate class. Only $40 with skate rental included. Signed up for Deb's class but Deb was replaced by another instructor that day. It was a fun and safe environment learning to roller skate. We learned a lot of basics. How to move forward, how to stop, how to avoid a fallen person, how to weave through cones, etc. It was a great experience. I thought I'd have energy to skate during the open brunch skate afterwards but honestly the class took a lot out of me and I was pretty tired afterwards. Did a few laps after class and then was ready to call it a day. I was recommended to take the level one class again until I'm comfortable with the basics before moving onto level two. I agree with this recommendation. Had such a fun time definitely will be coming back again!! (:

Conveniently located in the 2nd & PCH shopping center, Pigeons Roller Rink is smaller than most indoor skating rinks but there is still enough space to have fun. The floor is concrete which makes it smooth and very slippery so if you fall, it will be a harder landing than falling on wood paneling. During the summer months, you get a nice breeze coming through the open wood slat walls. There are plenty of seating and staff is friendly. Keep in mind that parking in the structure is free only for the first 90 minutes without validation.

I love these roller rinks popping up all over the country. The space here is breezy since it's open on two sides. Good music and it wasn't too crowded when we went. It's a spot if you're in mall area and looking for something else to do.

Ask the Community - Pigeons Roller Rink

How soon would I have to get there if I want to get a bench outside? Plan on going at the 2-4pm time slot for my daughter's birthday.

It's at an outdoor mall and from what I remember, there are two picnic benches there. I suppose an hour would be good. There wasn't really anybody using the picnic benches when I was there, but it was kind of chilly outside.

Can you bring your own skates?

Yes, you are more than welcome to bring your own skates. If someone in your party does not have skates it's a $10 rental.

There was a roller derby game on Saturday night, so I came here to check out, what I was getting into! It wasn't the easiest place to spot, if we hadn't seen someone holding up the sign for the rink, we would have missed it. The parking lot was big and there was plenty of parking all around, so we didn't have to worry about not finding a spot. The front section had about 5 booths set up all along both sides, with a beer booth at the end! From what I saw, there was no limit to the amount of beer you could purchase during the game! There were two rinks, but only one was used that night. There were large bleachers set up next to each rink, for everyone's viewing pleasure and between each rink, there were scattered tables and chairs. They also had a decent sized snack bar across from the rinks and at the front entrance, two vending machines. I wasn't hungry when we went, so I just bought a tub of popcorn and a soda. I did see (and smell) a few warm pretzels and hot dogs making their way past me! Towards the back, past the 2nd rink, was the rest area, dressing rooms. Apparently there is more, but since I wasn't part of the team yet, I couldn't go past the 2nd rink! Overall, not a bad place!

I wish they had turned out the lights as I see they do from some of the pictures posted by other reviewers, but nonetheless it was a great time. We knew NOTHING about the rules of the game, but a couple of friendly attendees filled us in. We did pay extra for the VIP bleacher seats, but when I saw that the general seating was on the rink itself I kind of wish I would have gone with those tickets instead. They did have wine and beer, so that was great for us and we also liked the live music. I also liked that it was a place friendly to both adult groups and groups with kids. I would definitely want to go again. Wish they would have had at least a few more food trucks though as the one that was there ran out of a lot of their menu items early on.
