Fam invited me to come through for pickleball practice. I was free, and it isn't too far from home, so eh: why not. Came through mid-week around 6p-ish and boy: parking is a complete challenge! It made me wonder why it was so crowded on a random weekday and then saw the after-school program sign. That might have been it. Found a spot in no time and walked to the tennis/pickleball area. It's kinda cool they converted tennis courts to pickleball courts. At least it's being used: the two tennis courts were left empty. Got a couple of warm up drills and a game in, and that was fun. (Didn't get the chance to take pictures: I got thrown in drills soon as I arrived!) Will most likely return if there are any more pickleball practice runs! read more

The city of Long Beach does a really wonderful job at taking care of its seniors through this park. They have activities for them almost everyday at the hall that include bingo, Zumba classes, karaoke, tai chi and many others. Sometimes, the seniors even get fed for free and go on field trips. (Space is limited for field trips so, sign up early.) I love seeing the little leaguers play at the baseball field and hearing their families cheer them on. I forgot to mention that Silverado Park just installed a new playground with rubberized playground surfacing. I would suggest leaving this park before the sun goes down. The park is unfortunately known for being dangerous at night. read more

The new playground is SO AWESOME! My one year old went nuts for this new playground! I'm so happy Long Beach built it! I hope they keep up with the cleanliness! So far, it hasn't been open for long but I saw some wear and tear already in less than a few weeks! So many options, pool, baseball, skateboarding. We have used this park in West Long Beach for the last several years just by luck. My son loves it, we all love it! Great family vibe and I feel safe. Sure the pool needs some upgrades but what it lacks in looks it makes up for in the staff. Everyone at the Silverado Pool has been professional and kind. My son loves taking his swim classes at Silverado. read more

Come here to swim and is typically not busy which I appreciate. The place is very run down and needs a face lift but at the end of the day I am just glad to have a pool to go to. read more

This is my local park where I walk my son and dog every morning. I give it 3 stars because there's quite a bit of homeless people living in certain parts of the park and it gives off a bad odor. Other than that, the park is pretty clean all the time. read more

Never knew this park was here and its somewhat of a hidden gem. I practice baseball here with my son and the fields are maintained pretty well. They offer little league and a bunch of other sports and activities on the Long Beach parks and Rec website. The atmosphere seems good and I see what seems to be some hard working people around the park. But you can still see a sprinkle of rif raf as well. The pool is also well kept and I think I will visit it this summer. Definitely visit with caution because there has been a few shootings and murders at this park. read more

I have been coming to the pool for two years and the service and quality of the facility has improved greatly in that time. The staff are always friendly, and the pool water quality has been great; not too chlorinated anymore, and kept at a nice temperature. read more

Being over 50 has a few perks such as free water aerobics 4 days a week at the beautiful Silverado pool. The water is always a great temperature for working out the instructors are great also...... read more

Today I was parked in front of the senior center entrance. I was eating lunch in my car. I observed at least 5 people standing and seating around the entrance. The 5 people were not wearing masks and 2 were staff members. This is very disturbing for me to have seen. Those people are all at risk and especially not showing any social distancing. The other people seemed elderly and also disabled. read more

Born and raised in Long Beach, this park has always been kind of scary. Have had some scary experiences here myself.

This park needs its own parking lot. A lot of the people who come to the park are inconsiderate of the residents who live across the street, it would be nice if the park patrons wouldn't throw their trash in front of peoples houses. read more

I have to say, this is one of the nicest indoor pools. The water temperature is right for a swim. Good place to lap swim, recreational swim or take swim lessons. The only downside is that they don't offer storage lockers. And the swim schedule has lived hours. But that seems to be an issue for most city pools. There is no available parking lot close by, but you can find street parking. The staff and on site life guards are all very friendly and helpful. Great place for a swim. read more

On a nice afternoon, you may find the rare, short, bald man, in a big white shirt, flying a brightly colored kite, under the bright, blue sky. It's located in that part of town. The part where the sun shines & nice people frolic. Often someone with a cart strolls by offering to sell goods. The indoor pool is adequate. The facilities are not horribly disgusting. read more

The pool is the best part about this park. It's so nice and clean, even though there are a lot of kids during summer and it may get full and noisy, it's a great place to go and relax. Very affordable and usually kids are free during summer. The one best thing about this pool is the hose rolling skills. I'm not sure who rolls their hoses on the wall, but who ever it is, needs a medal. I've heard there is only one employee there who rolls the hoses up and when the others try, it's a mess. So once you walk in that pool and see the hose rolled up nice and neat, you know the hose fairy has been around and that makes it the best time to swim. Attached are just some of the times I've caught the organization skills of the hose fairy. 10/10 would ask the employee to roll all the hoses from now on. read more

This park has the most disgusting restrooms I have ever encountered at a city park in Long Beach. You can literally smell them from 50 feet away. There is no door- there were homeless men fighting outside of it while I was trying to hover over a non seated toilet in a non lit restroom with no toilet paper at 9pm on a tournament baseball game day. Silverado park has always been the park my family chooses for every occasion. We have rented the hall a couple of times for our events. It's pretty big with a stage in the front, and has a kitchen you can use for the event. I also swim in the public pool here, its a salt water pool and gets pretty busy in the summer. One thing i recommend if you're coming for a swim, is to call ahead of time for schedules, as there has been many times where I showed up and schedule has changed or the pool is closed. read more

As a daily swimmer at the LB Silverado Pool Park, it's definitely fair to say this is my second home. The entire staff treats every customers like family! The cleanliness and constant upkeep of this place is unbelievably impressive. California summer keeps all park pools busy - especially with indoor pools. The influx of adults, children, summer camps and us, regulars - it can keep the pool pump and staff busy keeping the pool and place sanitary, safe and fun to play in. I have to point out one Monday am last week when I couldn't help but notice how white the pool floors were, since I was just there the day before (Sunday) and did not think anything of how the floor was a bit stained and sandy. Kudos to these hard working lifeguards for scrubbing this huge pool! When I see themselves swim in this pool, the pool has to be clean! The entire facility especially the women's shower and dressing rooms are constantly scrubbed, disinfected and kept up(e.g. shower curtains). What else can I say! This pool and staff are conducted by an enthusiastic and vibrant leader(yes YOU Sarah Jane!) Thank you LB Silverado Park Pool crew for doing a great job and for making my swimming hobby fun, safe and clean! Hats off to you guys! read more

We had a party at the pool and it was fine. We paid for an extra 30 minutes and when it was time to leave we were rushed out and two of the workers (one had braids) was making rude comments to EVERYONE.. even a 4 year old. We had a kid almost drown and the lifeguard on duty was hesitant to jump in because other people in the pool were swimming to her. By the time the lifeguard jumped in the little girl was already grabbed by two people. We had a party here in 2012 and it was fun and had no problems. This time it was so bad that the guests felt uncomfortable because the braided lady was constantly telling us to hurry up and leave. We had every one grabbing stuff because we understand that they had to go home... the rudeness and the comments made by one of the workers was uncalled for. read more

This was my favorite skatepark (Was because I moved away). Came to that skatepark when I first started skating, became a local and made so much memories there. Learned my skate tricks and seeing YouTubers there. Peeps there are amazing and all around it's a great skate park because it has enough flat ground and other stuff there.
