The playground is unique and so fun, the pumpkin-and-carriage themed play structure really sparks kids' imaginations and gives it that storybook charm. There's also additional play equipment, a tot lot for little ones, and plenty of space for kids of all ages to run around. We loved the sports facilities too, basketball courts, baseball/softball fields, and even a wading pool area in warmer months. It's a great mix of active and chill areas, so every member of the family can have a good time. There are picnic tables, shaded spots, and BBQ areas where you can hang out for hours, and the neighborhood feels peaceful and safe. Whether you're bringing the kids, meeting friends, or just taking a stroll, this park is a little outdoor gem. Highly recommend!

There was also a couple inside the children's pirates themed enclosure acting suspicious and most likely using drugs. The couple wouldn't leave although the other parent asked them to. I was left feeling uneasy when the parks and recreation worker refused to check the enclosure for left over drug paraphernalia. I wouldn't go back.

From the spacious grounds, plentiful play areas, and even a dog run area, this park has it all. Today, Easter Sunday 2026, our group of 40 has been having a blast since this morning. The area is clean and well kept, with city workers on site doing light work in the background. Many families are enjoying picnics with one another, sharing dishes, and having a blast looking for Easter eggs. Just as we did last year, we engaged with a neighboring family for a fun game of volleyball. This has been great! There is plenty of parking available in the lot, with several spots being designated for handicap parking. No stairs or steps are needed to access the park and there is an abundance of street parking, as well. For being an outdoor enjoyment area the sound level has not gone above mid and the grounds are well kept and clean. I look forward to our annual picnic for next year, already! xx

They also have little boats and a "village" but it's currently under construction but is said to be finished by this summer. They took over a giant covered outdoor area with a ton of picnic tables, clean and open and perfect for a large party (I assume they had to rent this). I've been to a lot of parks over the years, and most of them don't have comparable event spaces. The one disadvantage was that we were far away from the playground, much to the chagrin of my three-year-old, who kept demanding to leave the party in favor of the play structure he saw in the distance. Liberty Park is just a huge place with several different zones. We even switched parking lots once we got there and figured out where the actual party was, on the Camp Liberty side of the park. The party was really nice, pleasant and relaxing. We had lunch, watched the dohl ceremonies (he grabbed the stethoscope, securing his future as a doctor), took pictures, and hung out with family. Then, because I'm not a monster, I took my boy to the playground. It was a great playground, well maintained and pretty quiet on a Saturday afternoon. Fewer kids, in fact, than teenagers working out and playing loud music nearby. I'm not complaining. In fact, my child was fascinated by their music and got as much entertainment from their speakers as he did from the play structure. I don't live anywhere near Cerritos, but if I did, I'd make good use of Liberty Park. What a lovely neighborhood resource, for both special events and everyday recreation.

Been coming for the last three months and I see the same players all the time. Only downside of playing pickleball here is that the courts close at like 8pm-8:30pm which is actually atrocious. I forget exactly. When I run to the restroom from the tennis/pickleball area, which looks exactly like your average park restroom. I see people on the playground and other pickleball courts (3 in the middle) (2 on side). The track is crowded too! The parking does get full in the evening so you may need to park on the street.

There's a good sized green area as well with a covered bench areas spread throughout. There's also a walking path with a small exercise machine area along the way. Located off the main street of Carson it appears to expand into 4 sections. Plenty of street parking off the road and found a parking lot off Carson and bellflower. Also borders residential area and the homes were well kept pretty to look at historic and it's own unique character. Did arrive around 630am and opted to wait for the sun to pop out a bit more - sunrise view was beautiful and gorgeous! I stepped out with my dog around 640am and sure enough as soon as there was more light, more people appeared in vehicles walkers joggers group dog folks just out of the wood work! Paths were easy to follow and that also twisted and turn or simply just walking the open fields / so many trees and for the amount of space hardly any litter - plenty of people said good morning and acknowledge Community center, restrooms, and library in the area. I had my little one with me as well and I had planned to take her to the park or the beach everyday. However, I got myself sunburned and needed to take a break from the outdoors for a spell. I found Kid Town and it was a lifesaver. We met so many nice people and my daughter made lots of friends. The employees were wonderful and helpful too. They were very patient with my daughter when she wanted to try the rock wall. My only gripe is that I made the mistake of not buying the pass and ended up paying more than I could have. So worth the price!

I brought my four children here for a friend's birthday party, and on multiple occasions, the workers' attitudes made it difficult to remain calm. I have two children on the autism spectrum, ages 5 and 7. My 5-year-old son, who has mild to moderate autism, had difficulty understanding the worker's instructions for getting into the harness to climb the wall. Instead of showing patience and understanding, the worker repeatedly rolled her eyes and sighed, which was very upsetting to witness. I understand that working with children can be challenging, but I expected the staff to be more patient and accommodating, especially with children who may need additional time or assistance. Unfortunately, because of this experience, we will not be returning.
