I walk my dogs here almost daily. Great park Originally built for the Bicentennial. Just as good 50 years later!

Came here with the kids and honestly this park is really nice. Super clean, spacious, and a lot to do. The playground area is great for all ages my kids had a blast and didn't want to leave. The lake area with the little church in the background is a nice touch, makes it feel more relaxing and not just your typical park. Good walking paths, plenty of grass, and nice spots to just sit and chill. Everything felt well kept and safe, which is a big plus when you're bringing kids. Plenty of room so it didn't feel overcrowded either. Only thing watch out for duck poop on the walkways and grass, especially near the water. Overall, great spot for families. One of the most beautiful parks we've been to. There's a waterfall, several playgrounds, a basketball court. They have restrooms and picnic tables. Lots of shady areas and grass. They also have little boats and a "village" but it's currently under construction but is said to be finished by this summer. It's such a beautiful place that you'll often see professional photography going on. I highly suggest checking them out. read more

Sprawling park has a Paul Revere theme, with several covered bridges, a harbor with a pretend tall mast boat, the north church tower, all on an island surrounded by a moat of water. Water features attract a lot of fowl including Canadian geese, mallard ducks and so many more duck species, plus of course seagulls and crows, pigeons, and a large number of turtles. Very fun for kids to explore. Slides and climbing are built into the structures. Adjacent to neighborhoods so lots of street parking, as well as a separate parking lot. Playground equipment geared for the 3 to 12 year old kids. Lots of covered sheds and picnic tables- those are available for Cerritos residents to rent, but otherwise are free for use. Also has grills if you want to barbecue. Clean bathrooms, onsite toddler pre-K programs offered. Lots of well maintained grassy areas and shady trees. read more

My daughter and I attend a birthday party at Heritage Park. It was a Sunday afternoon with people celebrating birthdays or to enjoy a day out relaxing at the park. My friend had made a reservation for Section 1 area for her son's birthday. She was expecting a lot of friends to attend. It was a perfect spot because there were plenty of benches with tables for everyone. The small pond with ducks, turtles, and fishes were exciting to see along with unique slides at the playground. A large basketball court is available to shoot some hoops or play a game with friends. I'm assuming this park is historic due to the theme of Paul Revere. Interesting statues were displayed with a little bit of history. Good park to visit with friends and family. read more

Park is cool but whoever they have answering their phones is sooo rude. I called to inquire about renting a space at the park for my daughter's upcoming birthday. I could tell it was an older lady on the other end and she answered the phone with a "...yeah?" in a rude tone. I say "I was hoping to get some more information about party rentals at this park like pricing and hours" and they proceed to just say "...ok" in the same rude tone and went silent. I had to keep asking questions to get information out of them because everything I'd ask was only met with snarky one word responses. Even when I said "ok thank you" all they said was "k" and just hung up the phone. It was actually almost comical how horrible they are at customer service and they completely deterred me from renting the space. read more

Not a lot has changed since I used to come to this park when I was little. The play areas that are in the cottage house are mostly closed aside from one of them. The park was kinda dirty given the geese that are there, they poop everywhere . They don't really like dogs so be careful when bringing your little dogs. The place needs a major lift up because of rotting wood and chipped paint. But it was nice to go back and see this park 20+ years later. We had gone during memorial Day weekend and it was not to busy. There were no people popping up the canapys and their volleyball nets. The gazebos and tables filled fast with family's. The minus one star because it was really really first trash and confetti laying around everywhere, it is very hard to enjoy a park with many groups taking pictures on the trails and walkway, sometimes you just had to take that they will be in your picture read more

I have passed by this citypark so many times and wonder exactly what it was about. Then while looking at my Yelp app, I saw a couple of the people I follow from Orange county had gone here and given it great reviews. I had to swing by Walmart, so made a beeline to stop at this park. I'm so glad I did! I was totally enthralled by this park, and would imagine that a child would be even more so. It's absolutely lovely. The best part is it's like a little mini Boston! There's a statue of Paul Revere and as you follow the path it's like going through the city on the midnight ride of Paul Revere. There is a lovely little lake with wateralls and bridges, both covered and uncovered. There are miniature buildings with climbers and stairs inside and slides that let you exit the building. There's even a little town with a tea shop and a cobbler. That was temporarily closed, but we looked in and saw that you could climb up and come out of a slide. You can cross a bridge and go on to a little ship, and there are cannons everywhere. Surrounding the body of water are geese and ducks who are not even a little bit afraid of humans. We literally walked right through them and they didn't give us a second look. There's a separate playground and several covered tables. There are public restrooms and a separate place that can be rented for parties. This has to be a play paradise for kids! So glad my Yelp friends' experiences here popped up! read more

Such a neat park and they have maintenance working there in the mornings to keep the park clean. There are several spots that are currently blocked off due to termite damage. Whenever the city is able to make these repairs, this park would be even cooler! This area wasn't closed off about 5 years ago... so not sure when it started being blocked off or how long it will be until they fix it. I have lived in the area for close to 20 years, in Artesia 3 years and Cerritos 10 years but still live locally. This park is special to my family and I. A lot of great memories have happened in this park, not to mention the annual 4th of July fireworks show across the street at The High School. This is a great location for photography, weddings, Quiinceaneras, proms, lots of professional photography happens here. There is also a lovely playground for kids, several club rooms and shelters for rent and just all around a beautiful park! This park is home to lots of turtles, ducks and fish. Kids will love it and there is lots of water, even on top of the park with a lovely waterfall. Now I wanted to address the reviews mentioning the duck poop. When I read that I got a kick out of it. Where do you expect the turtles and ducks to poop at? Should they wear diapers or do you expect the park staff to open a bathroom for them or to potty train them? Seriously the mentioning of duck poop is one of the funniest things I've read. I've been to this park so many times, recently actually and I have never seen tons of duck poop anywhere, at all. I will make sure to look around for it next time I'm here but I doubt there is as much as stated in these reviews. I also noticed those posting about the duck poop haven't actually posted photos of the poop itself, hmmmm. It's a beautiful, clean and well maintained park. You can come relax, enjoy the playground with your kids or have a picnic or barbecue. It's amazing! read more

The park is nice, and learning about the history of the area adds to the experience. It's fascinating to read the posted information and understand what happened there. The park has a rich past, which makes exploring it even more interesting. I enjoyed my visit; however, I went with my kids, and it's advertised as a playground with slides and open spaces for them to run and play. Unfortunately, that was not the case all the slides and activities for kids were closed off, leaving them with nothing to do except run around. So, if you're visiting mainly to explore and learn about the history, it's great, but if you're bringing children expecting a fun play area, they may end up disappointed. Really upset about the park stating that they close at 20:00hrs and I made a arrangement for my nieces XV photo shoot at 1800hrs and the 2 girls attending the park closed it after we were already inside telling us to come back the next day (take into account that there is a make up crew, hair crew, photographer, etc for this to take place). Located off Bloomfield Ave in Cerritos. They have a good sized parking lot but it fills up fast then you will have find street parking or possibly park across the street at the High School when not in session. The park is nicely decorated with water, waterfalls , cool building play areas as well as your regular kids play area. The building areas and water areas are great for special occasion pics like high school graduation, prom, Quinceañera and even wedding and engagement photos which we saw a lot of those today. There were also a lot of ducks roaming around and in the water also in the water were lots of turtles. There are also a few covered areas to rent for parties. Overall a very nice park lots to look at and a great place for picnics and party celebrations. read more

It's a nice park with a ton of room and several play areas for kids. The play structures look well maintained and often used by kids of a wide range of ages. The cool part--the island--can use some TLC. For the couple years I have been going there, it's been "under construction". There is tape around the big slide structure as well as another structure in which I don't quite know its function because it was closed off before I started going to this park. The island is still open and kids can go down the single slide as walk up it, but it's sad to see more and more of the island being taped off. It has the potential of being awesome if it could get renovated. The park also has turtles and geese to watch and enjoy but beware that the geese can get slightly aggressive. Overall, it's a nice park near the Cerritos Library. The play structures are awesome. The island needs significant help. There is ample grass area to play on. read more

Great place for pictures! It's always busy due to this fact but nonetheless a great place to go with friends or family.

How did I not know about this local gem? Incredibly well kept, and such a big play area. There is even a moat around the cement play area that is filled with baby turtles and ducks for little kiddos to see. There is a sand area, picnic pavilion, large playground structures. There is also a big green area if you wanted to just run around and play or fly a kite or something. We actually saw a family doing just that the last time we were there. It's a really unique area to walk around with covered bridges and picturesque views. Great place to take some family photos too. I'm thinking about coming back with a photographer! We had a really fun day here and will definitely be back. read more

This epic and scenic park--outfitted with a playground island, moat, bridges, waterfalls, various bird wildlife, sports areas--is a Cerritos gem. The playground island gives off mad vibes of 1700s Boston Village with brick-clad buildings, bridges, historic buildings, and a Paul Revere bronze statue. Kids can play make-believe on ships on the water, climb rope ladders, and slide through historic buildings and tunnels. The main side has multiple playground sets for various ages, swings, basketball courts, baseball fields, walkways for running/walking, and rentable covered shelters equipped with tables and benches for parties. There are tons of grassy areas for some cute picnics or napping under the sun. The only downside of this park is the poop (from the various bird wildlife). Remember to never feed the wildlife. They can get sick and the wasted food can clog the pond's water filter system. Talk about this park-of-all-trades, on the weekend, the area near the waterfall and bridge even serves as a popular photo backdrop for weddings and countless quinceaneras. (Parking can be nuts on the wknd!) This is the perfect park to have kid playdates, bring out of towners to experience the playground island, and picnic dates on the grass. read more

Plain and simple...this is a really cute park! I arrived early in the morning, so there was plenty of parking available. I honestly didn't think it was going to get too busy, but over time, it started to fill up and I realized just how busy it can get. So be mindful on the days that you go. Weekends definitely attract more people. Their lot is on the small side for a park and I'm not sure if there is another lot, so definitely arrive at a decent time if you're expecting to get parking. I saw a lot of cars circling and I don't believe there's street parking available. This is not a basic park. The city clearly put some money into this park. It's well maintained and I even saw a custodian actively going around and emptying trash and cleaning surfaces. The park has a little island in the center that is normally open for tours, weddings, and other events, but because of Covid, it's closed until further notice. Shame, because it's really cute and I can see how it is a very popular attraction. They also have a beautiful lake that stretches throughout the park that's home to several ducks. There were a lot of people walking and jogging, many families walking together, kids on scooters, etc. Many people came to meet up with family and friends and walk. Sadly, post-Covid, this is kind of the way it is if you want to see and spend time with others outside of your household. This park literally caters to everyone. There were many people who brought food and sat and chatted with friends. I saw people bring a bunch of pumpkins and take fall pics of their kids, as well as a mini birthday gathering with a small group of friends. There was also a church group that met under the trees and still practiced social distancing. In fact many people still practiced social distancing, as well as wore masks. They have a couple playgrounds for the kids and they all seemed happy to be getting outside, including the parents! It is also dog friendly, as I saw several there who were well behaved. Now getting to the really important part...We all know that park bathrooms are notorious for being "squat only," but I'm happy to report that the bathrooms here were shockingly modern and clean! read more
