Wish we could have experienced this park. Unfortunately, it's closed for repairs. It looks awesome from the outside and a dream for kids, especially those who love adventure. Hope the repairs are completed soon so it can be enjoyed by all. Also, I plan to update this review following repairs. This review is based on what I saw which looked amazing but repairs are needed. Glad the will be investing in making this park better.

The good: Arrr, matey this be a fine and golden park! This is the treasure! There's a parking lot right by the park but also street parking. The park is small and gated off but it's so unique and awesome for little ones' imaginations. There's a giant ship, a little boat, a treasure chest, footprints, skull rock and a x on the ground marking the treasure. I like how there's a slide integrated into the rock and boat and how it's solid and smooth cement. The park is downtown so it's walking distance to restaurants for a good combo day of play and eat. The bad: There's an area with a vertical ladder that's meant for climbing up and not down but it seems a little dangerous. The interesting: There are so many cool trees and plants around the park including bamboo, pine tree and palm trees. The palm trees add to the island feel with the pirate theme.

It's a cool place for the kids to play. No area to sit for the parents. Not really shaded.

What a cute park! My girls are 5 and 7 and we spend some time here early in the morning. They were done after about 20 mins but probably would have played longer if we had friends with them. It is unique and cute but definitely small. There are so cool looking businesses near by, including a bakery and Italian place. It is a cute place.

Nice little hidden park. Not much play equipment, meant more for small kids who just like to run around. There's no restrooms available. For the most part it's a clean park but there was some graffiti inside the play bridge/tower

Cute enough for kids but not particularly inviting. Small size. Not really worth a detour.

My entire month of July was spent here with my community, and I loved every single minute of it.The concerts start at 7:00 p.m., but I was always the first one there since I live the closest. I'd show up with my folding chairs, claim a big spot, spread out blankets, and save plenty of room for everyone. Then I'd wait for my friends to arrive. You know the evening is officially about to begin when they play Downey's official city song! I had no idea Downey even had a song, but it's absolutely adorable and always puts everyone in a great mood. Our final concert was extra special--we had a grand total of 22 people at our little gathering! Every week turned into a giant community potluck with everyone bringing something delicious to share. One weekend my friends even surprised me with a birthday party, complete with a decorated table and cake. It made me feel so loved, and it's a memory I'll treasure forever. There's something so peaceful about sitting on a blanket, listening to live music, chatting with friends, and watching the sun slowly set over the park. It's a reminder that some of the best nights don't have to be expensive--they just need good people and good music. The concession stand offered the basics--hamburgers, hot dogs, popcorn, pie, and drinks. I do wish there were a few more food options, but maybe that's something they can expand on next year. Before the concerts, there were booths from local businesses like Lazy Dog, the Downey Theatre, dental offices, and other community organizations offering fun giveaways, games, and raffle prizes. We never won the raffle tree, but we sure had fun trying every week! One of my favorite parts was running into so many familiar faces. It truly felt like the entire community came together to enjoy summer evenings at the park. The only downside? July is over way too fast! I wish the concert series lasted longer because one month just isn't enough.Thank you to everyone who makes these concerts happen each year. Until next summer...

I was really upset because of a Dad and his little girl, must have been 7, 8 years old we're in the toddler area. The girl had an accident inside the ball pit and I overheard the Dad scolding her for peeing, but didn't inform anybody that she even had an accident. My son was in the ball pit when this happened, and I noticed that there were wet footprints on the floor and on the edge of the pit. I grabbed the spray that they had and sprayed the area down, not thinking anything of it. One of the staff noticed that I did that and right away brought towels and sprays to clean the area and another staff member came over and asked me to take my son out because they were spraying chemicals in the pit area to sanitize. When I took him out, he was completely covered in pee all over the back of his shirt & shorts. My son wears diapers so I know it wasn't him. I was really upset, and I told the staff, I went to go talk to the manager about it, and they fully refunded me for the time that I was there. My kids were upset cause we had to leave early, we were 35- 40 minutes in & the guy in the front gave them lollipops, with my approval, to help me calm them. The staff there is amazing and on it about Cleaning and sanitizing everything. They shut the whole toddler section down just so they can sanitize the entire area. As far as that, Dad, it's extremely disgusting that he tried leaving without saying anything to anybody. Accidents happen that I understand but keeping it to yourself and then trying to leave without informing staff is beyond me.

Would like to inform you that I will be filing a police report because I had my iPad stolen at your place of business. We were told we could not bring our personal belongings in and would have to leave it with stroller in the front of your store. When I returned to my car realized my iPad was gone. Not sure if this was an inside job or if this is a common occurrence at your place of business but I will most definitely not be returning and will advise friends and relatives of the potential theft going on at your place of business. They took over a giant covered outdoor area with a ton of picnic tables, clean and open and perfect for a large party (I assume they had to rent this). I've been to a lot of parks over the years, and most of them don't have comparable event spaces. The one disadvantage was that we were far away from the playground, much to the chagrin of my three-year-old, who kept demanding to leave the party in favor of the play structure he saw in the distance. Liberty Park is just a huge place with several different zones. We even switched parking lots once we got there and figured out where the actual party was, on the Camp Liberty side of the park. The party was really nice, pleasant and relaxing. We had lunch, watched the dohl ceremonies (he grabbed the stethoscope, securing his future as a doctor), took pictures, and hung out with family. Then, because I'm not a monster, I took my boy to the playground. It was a great playground, well maintained and pretty quiet on a Saturday afternoon. Fewer kids, in fact, than teenagers working out and playing loud music nearby. I'm not complaining. In fact, my child was fascinated by their music and got as much entertainment from their speakers as he did from the play structure. I don't live anywhere near Cerritos, but if I did, I'd make good use of Liberty Park. What a lovely neighborhood resource, for both special events and everyday recreation.

Highly recommend these courts for pickleball too because there are a lot of courts, friendly players and it's not too advanced of play. I forget exactly. When I run to the restroom from the tennis/pickleball area, which looks exactly like your average park restroom. I see people on the playground and other pickleball courts (3 in the middle) (2 on side). The track is crowded too! The parking does get full in the evening so you may need to park on the street.
