My entire month of July was spent here with my community, and I loved every single minute of it.The concerts start at 7:00 p.m., but I was always the first one there since I live the closest. I'd show up with my folding chairs, claim a big spot, spread out blankets, and save plenty of room for everyone. Then I'd wait for my friends to arrive. You know the evening is officially about to begin when they play Downey's official city song! I had no idea Downey even had a song, but it's absolutely adorable and always puts everyone in a great mood.Our final concert was extra special--we had a grand total of 22 people at our little gathering! Every week turned into a giant community potluck with everyone bringing something delicious to share. One weekend my friends even surprised me with a birthday party, complete with a decorated table and cake. It made me feel so loved, and it's a memory I'll treasure forever.There's something so peaceful about sitting on a blanket, listening to live music, chatting with friends, and watching the sun slowly set over the park. It's a reminder that some of the best nights don't have to be expensive--they just need good people and good music.The concession stand offered the basics--hamburgers, hot dogs, popcorn, pie, and drinks. I do wish there were a few more food options, but maybe that's something they can expand on next year. Before the concerts, there were booths from local businesses like Lazy Dog, the Downey Theatre, dental offices, and other community organizations offering fun giveaways, games, and raffle prizes. We never won the raffle tree, but we sure had fun trying every week!One of my favorite parts was running into so many familiar faces. It truly felt like the entire community came together to enjoy summer evenings at the park.The only downside? July is over way too fast! I wish the concert series lasted longer because one month just isn't enough.Thank you to everyone who makes these concerts happen each year. Until next summer...

The dogs were out sniffing around, squirrels were squirreling. Kids playing games hunting for eggs. Bathrooms were decent they could use some work but it seems most parks fall short in this arena. Since it's a neighborhood park there really isn't a parking lot but there was ample parking I didn't have to circle the park found a spot immediately. If I was to have any con is I could hear the train every time it went by but I'm sure if you live near you auto tune it out. Other than that I'll definitely visit again as my DIL just moved around the corner!!

They have 4 recreation centers where you can actually reserve. So as long as you call ahead, you can take a spot, and dont have to worry about it getting taken by someone gettting there at the crack of dawn. Park itself was nice. They have a small area, which is the green grassy park, play ground, a water park for kids, basketball courts, a huge baseball diamond, and a rec center. This park is also adjacent to the river, so if you bring bikes, you can always go down the river bed for a leisurely ride. Would definitely come back.. Its a small park, so if you have kids, there easier to watch here. Plus you dont get as much traffic, since you cant really see this park from the main street.

While there are no public restrooms, two porta-potties are available. Throughout the park, you'll find numerous workout machines, conveniently located, including those near the porta-potties. With multiple entrances, this park is easily accessible, and due to its proximity to a residential area, you might encounter a cat or two. It's worth noting that during my visit, I observed a homeless man sleeping inside the park. Despite this, the park is generally well-kept, although there is an issue with feces in certain areas. On a positive note, there's a Little Free Library near the parking lot, promoting the sharing of books provided by a nonprofit. Operating hours are from 7 AM to 8 PM, ensuring a peaceful environment. Personally, I find the park enjoyable, especially for exercise, though the experience may vary depending on the time and day of your visit. OH and there is a volleyball court sitting on top of sand.

The only downside I have to mention is that recreational football and soccer teams frequently visit for practice, which the park is not set up for. It's quite small and should not be utilized as a sport practice meet up. This is what deters me from visiting more frequently. Parking fills up, balls are flying every which way, and it can get quite noisy. Not my ideal setting for some relaxing cardio. I still recommend this park, as the city of Paramount takes great care and it is regularly maintained nice and clean.
