Pickleball lines for 4 courts bring your own net.
    Jc J.

Bring your own net set-up on 4 courts. Lines are red for the 4 Pickleball courts. Cane around 6:30 on a Tuesday in June only one court being used, no waiting.

Whenever my dad comes into town there's always certain things that he likes to do . One of them is definitely going to the sk8 park. When you have lots of brothers skateboarding just becomes a part of life . He was so disappointed that nobody was there. He just didn't understand where all the sk8ers were. I said Dad they're in school ! He just couldn't believe that only kids skated. He said do you mean to tell me that after they're out of school they stop skating. I said mostly . He kept throwing back all the phrases that we've used throughout the years . I thought it was Sk8 or die!! Sidewalk surfing forever! Sk8ers are renegades for life! I was so proud of him at that moment. My dad so cool! we usually sit there and just watch the skaters as we catch up. What do you know as life would have it . A really nice car pulled up in a man in his 40s came out jumped on his board and got his SK8 on . Restored faith in both of us. See sk8 or die! LoL . It was so nice to see a man with a nice car ,nice clothes and a nice pair of headphones still carved out time for an early morning session. Now that's what I wanna see! Get your early morning Sk8 on if you want to have the whole place to yourself at independence Park. #Renegade #Sk8OrDie#5Stars

When your wife goes to the emergency for the 100th time about a headache, just take the kids across the street to the park and play ball!

Awesome snack bar and great softball fields. Bathrooms arent too great and during tournaments, parking sucks but a nice clean park overall.

Ask the Community - Independence Park

Is there an open soccer field for a company soccer game? Picnic area?

There isn't a field specifically for soccer unfortunately. Although, there is a grassy area next to the baseball field you can probably use if you brought your own goal posts. There is a picnic area though

The place is very well kept and modern with lots of different activities for the kiddos from slides to climbing and even a smaller area for the toddlers. I highly recommended this place and it's actually pretty affordable as well $20 for 2 hrs per kid and 1st adult free!. Parking is accessible it's located inside the mall. It's really spacious and truly appreciate all the seating available for the adults ( a lot of indoor playgrounds lack this)!. The staff is constantly walking around cleaning and sanitizing. They are very attentive and friendly. I especially wanted to give a shout out to the young lady who was working on the floor she was very attentive and kind noticed my toddler was having a tantrum over not getting the toy out of the claw machines. She really went above and beyond and showed compassion towards my toddler in distress. 10 out of 10 for our visit !

I was really upset because of a Dad and his little girl, must have been 7, 8 years old we're in the toddler area. The girl had an accident inside the ball pit and I overheard the Dad scolding her for peeing, but didn't inform anybody that she even had an accident. My son was in the ball pit when this happened, and I noticed that there were wet footprints on the floor and on the edge of the pit. I grabbed the spray that they had and sprayed the area down, not thinking anything of it. One of the staff noticed that I did that and right away brought towels and sprays to clean the area and another staff member came over and asked me to take my son out because they were spraying chemicals in the pit area to sanitize. When I took him out, he was completely covered in pee all over the back of his shirt & shorts. My son wears diapers so I know it wasn't him. I was really upset, and I told the staff, I went to go talk to the manager about it, and they fully refunded me for the time that I was there. My kids were upset cause we had to leave early, we were 35- 40 minutes in & the guy in the front gave them lollipops, with my approval, to help me calm them. The staff there is amazing and on it about Cleaning and sanitizing everything. They shut the whole toddler section down just so they can sanitize the entire area. As far as that, Dad, it's extremely disgusting that he tried leaving without saying anything to anybody. Accidents happen that I understand but keeping it to yourself and then trying to leave without informing staff is beyond me.

The lake area with the little church in the background is a nice touch, makes it feel more relaxing and not just your typical park. Good walking paths, plenty of grass, and nice spots to just sit and chill. Everything felt well kept and safe, which is a big plus when you're bringing kids. Plenty of room so it didn't feel overcrowded either. Only thing watch out for duck poop on the walkways and grass, especially near the water. Overall, great spot for families. Definitely coming back

Temple Park is located in west Downey, just north of Los Amigos Golf Course…read more Accessible via Stewart and Gray Road, it sits in the middle of a nice neighborhood. It's a very small park and playground area with a couple of bbq pits and several picnic tables. The Park was originally dedicated in 1968 (according to http://www.thedowneypatriot.com/) and was said to have had a pretty cool spiral slide... too bad I never had the chance to see it. At any rate, a new playground was put in and the park was re-dedicated in July of this year ('15). There are two swings for older ages. The only way your baby or younger toddler will get to swing is if you hold them in your lap. No baby swings are available. The area with the slide is nice, but I can't imagine kids any older than preschool really wanting to spend much time here unless you brought a frisbee or something. Both of these area have wood chips (bark mulch) instead of sand or rubber mulch, etc. as the surfacing. If the entire area was fenced in, I might like it better when I have both of our girls to myself. It's not a real busy area with traffic, but there were a few cars moving in and out while we were there on 9/17/15. It was around 11:30 a.m. when we went there and not a soul was in sight. Also, I really wish that the City would develop a better way to contain trash that was probably placed into the open barrel trash cans but made its way back onto the playground and lushes grass areas. Fair amount of street parking available. Review #397 Yelp challenge 78/100
