Incorrect hours
Jakaria A.

Went there from Gardena 30 miles, driving 1 hour 15 minutes and was very disappointing, just because of their mistakes Seen the yelp hours Saturday 3:15pm to 6pm We went there at 3:27pm they said they are close at 3:30pm and their Saturdays hour is 12:30pm to 3:30pm. Very disappointing. You should update your hours because of your misleading you wasting somebody's time and money. Will never go there anymore not recommended at all

If you looking for a great place to play puck up hockey this would be the place. Great for a 4 on 4 or even 3 on 3.

Very old and charming. Brought the kids here for a birthday party. Everyone had a great time. Who knew that this place existed in Van Nuys?

Nice place. Definitely worthwhile to visit and skate for the prices they charge. Friendly staff.

Unsurfaced ice! It is $20 a person, it is small area but most importantly the ice is so uneven it is scary.

We had a private instructor who coached, taught and helped the children skate. We had the ice skating rink in the back all to ourselves. There's 3 different rinks. All 3 different rinks played different types of music played on the speakers. As soon as we arrived we went straight to the left side booth where they had skates. The person was very nice and provided great customer service. Gave us the sizes we needed for skates. There are also shelves and places to store your shoes so you can skate confidently without having to worry about your shoes. It's so neat to watch others skating and doing their dance routines. We saw a group of skaters dancing and it was beautiful. You can tell their professionals. At the end of the party, they gave all 10 of our children free passes to come back and skate for free along with a free skating lesson.

I should have taken warning when we saw a girl being carried out of the rink by her family, but I was eager to skate again. Joining 2.5 hours into a public skate session, and on chopped up ice, after a 10 year hiatus from ice skating was probably not the best idea. However, the only reason I probably managed to avoid injury in the first 40 minutes of skating was the fact I wasn't using their poorly maintained rental skates, but my own Riedell skates. Unfortunately they still didn't save me from catching my blade in a divot, and injuring myself. This location has two rinks, one for public skating sessions, and another for parties, ice time rentals, classes, and hockey games & practices. From their calendar online it looks like they alternate the use of the rinks for these purposes. The last time I went skating (in NorCal) it was $8 for rink time during a public skate session, so to learn it was $20 for access to the ice (skate rental included, and no discounts for using your own skates), talk about sticker shock! For $20 dollars for a public skate you'd expect their to be a rink guard/safety staff enforcing rules, but there was none to be found during my visit, despite the number of kids using buckets (used for assistance when learning to skate) improperly (sitting on top of them, and pushing each other around), and slamming into the rink walls repetitively. Also no one was stopping folks from crowding and blocking the entry/exits for the rink, or the group of hockey players practicing runs across the ice, either of which could easily result in falls/injury. Well lesson learned - my next skating adventure will not be at this poorly maintained and poorly supervised location. I'll be driving a bit further to check out the rinks in Santa Clarita, or Van Nuys, and I'll be sporting wrist guards, and pads for my knees, and elbow!

But a close friend was going to have a rollerskating birthday party, and I didn't want to be making things awkward by not being able to join in. I did six lessons with JC over the course of about 2 1/2 weeks. And at the end of it, I was able to go to the party and spend the entire two hours skating. I won't say that I was *graceful*, but I stayed on my feet, never fell, and had a great time. I am actually looking forward to skating again! Thanks, JC! JC is a very good coach and very patient. He was able to accommodate my chaotic schedule, which was a huge help, and I found his rates more than reasonable. Five stars all the way.
