First time at Holiday Skate Center! Rink is cute and smooth to skate on. It's clean and staff are chill. There's a snack bar and big parking lot. We had a lot of fun! Super affordable to skate too- $12 on a Sunday for 2.5 hrs skating. It's extra for skates but we brought our own. Notes: **The calendar said the vibe was "top 40" for this session but there were a lot of songs that brought the energy down. Would love more upbeat music. **My brother did say there was no doors in the men's bathroom... like at all, every stall is open. I'm not sure the reason for that but it seemed pretty unsafe. Highly recommend coming here. Associates here are all so nice especially met the owner Don this afternoon during a Thanksgiving playdate w Harpers Friend 11.25.25 The Dj/host is awesome playing the latest and all time greatest hits! They have a clipboard also for songs request. They are interactive with you hosting skating games during open skate or Birthday parties too where they also do a shout out for the bday celebrant. Where the winners get a free coupon for over at the Snack bar. Love the vibe here. Really clean but of course some areas are a little bit older. It's just giving nostalgic vibes here. Have a snack bar that serves icee, fountain drinks, pizza, nachos, churros and so much more. The skating rink been open for 52 years. Located right off the 55 Freeway, Chapman Ave. Lots of parking available. Tip always check out their website for Thanksgiving/Winter/Summer or holiday Breaks. They have special hours of open skate events along with special prices admission. They also offer these HOLIDAY session card for 10 entrance for $ 120 and it saves you in the long run. Comes out to be $ 12 admission fee. You can use the session card on multiple of your guest. Which makes it an awesome deal. FYI there's a $ 5 fee for adults non skater/spectator fee. read more

March 16, 2025 | Orange: What a fun night skating at Holiday Skate Center! My friend & I were invited to a birthday party on a Sunday night here! It was a great chance to celebrate, experience a new skating rink and in a different location; far away from home, but worth it! Inside: It's really tropical inside! I love seeing the sunset decor around the skating rink, the tall palm trees painted along the walls, colorful lighting, as well as colorful groovy carpet! Haha! Also, the place was decorated for St. Patrick's Day, which was the following day! There are lockers to keep valuables for $.50, and a full on concession stand! Crowd: Super friendly, as well as hilarious! We laughed plenty, met so many new people, as well as heard a number of interesting stories! The crowd truly reflected a bunch of the happiest people I've met! The energy was uplifting! Also, it was really cool to see several familiar faces from another skating rink!! While I was able to capture a bit of a skating, I put my phone away for the remainder of the night, when the floor was packed with people!! Music: Different nights, different music; a variety was played! Parking: Plentiful & free! Birthday Party: There were a lot of people, as it was the pastor's birthday! People really showed up for him! The party was catered; there was plenty of food for everyone! Thanks again, very kind & what a delicious surprise! My daughter and I came here last week and immediately fell in love with this rink! We usually go to Fountain Valley Skate, but do not like the crowds and the gaggle of parents hanging on the wall clogging up the rink space. This rink is slightly bigger. Great music playing- you can actually request songs and they'll play them, unlike Fountain Valley. Their arcade space is very small, but I'm not concerned with that. What I was really impressed with was their snack bar- there is a bigger variety of snack options. I mean, tater tots and mozzarella sticks???!!! C'MONNNNN!!!! Plus the prices are really cheap. I wanted to be the gatekeeper on this rink, but it was to good to not write about! read more

We wanted to do something unique and different for my daughter's 16th birthday party, and this was it!! I'm so happy that I did my research into the various skating rinks in the area because this totally fit everything that we were looking for as a venue option for her birthday. We ended up going with their recommendation of hosting a Friday evening party where there would be less (younger) kids, better music options as well as the option of guests staying a little longer, if needed. This place brings back memories for me. My elementary school used to do fundraisers here, and I'd go with friends often back in the days. It's nostalgic to be back! My boyfriend and I went for date night on Sunday evening. He doesn't skate, so it was his first time. The employees there were super friendly and encouraging, teaching him as they skate around. From my interactions with them and my observations, I can tell they've built a lovely community. Definitely will visit more often! read more

My friend and I came here on a Sunday afternoon, it was packed. The prices were good, under $20 for each of us to rent skates and pay for entry. There are lockers that are $0.50 and you can rent one of those walkers for another $5. Because we haven't touched roller skates since we were kids, we opted to try to rent the walkers lol Unfortunately they were all rented out and there's no time limit to how long someone can use them. Or not use them- as we saw a lot of them just parked abandoned outside of the rink. It was a bummer because they weren't being used but you couldn't just go swoop on them because they technically got rented out. We finally got a hold of some, and then because there was a birthday party, they kept stopping everyone from moving in the rink for birthday shout outs or "red light/green light" games. We just wanted to take our time and try to get the feel for it again but maybe if we came during the week it wouldn't be so chaotic. read more

This place is tucked away with a descent sized parking lot. It's totally old school, but does the job. It's not too big and could use some maintenance. We've been here 2-3 times. The last time we came to this skating rink was on 11/10/24 for another skating competition. Both of my girls were competing. It's got a snack bar, DJ booth, little store area, rental skates, eating area, sitting area, lockers and restrooms. It also has a carpeted area next to the rollerskating rink. I appreciate rollerskating rinks still being open as it's a cool skill that people can enjoy. My girls have fun skating and are doing better during the competitions. read more

I enjoyed the music selection, which was top 40 and current. This skate rink is nostalgic, and it does bring you back to your childhood. Skating is therapeutic for me whenever I have time for myself. I make it my business to enjoy something that's fun for me. And if you have young children, this is an exciting way to introduce them to a new activity. The rink offers skate bumpers for a fee, of course. This encourages the little one to get out on the rink and glide with the wind. I haven't skated in over 40 years but my autistic nephew coaxed me off of the coach. I had a WONDERFUL time. The staff were friendly and supportive. The man who handed me the rental skates offered encouragement and tips for staying safe. The two people who taught the class were upbeat and encouraging. What a cute place !! I felt like I was in a scene of an old school high school movie !! I took my 3 year old son roller skating for the first time yesterday and the owner was so helpful. He noticed the skates I originally rented for my son were rolling a little too much for his comfortably but I assumed it was because it was his first time. The owner bought me 2 different sizes to choose from- both these skates looked more comfortable and the wheels felt tighter so that it was easier for my child to catch his balance. During our time there, my son and I would have to stop a few times either because he would get frustrated or because he fell, and every time we stopped there was a staff member checking on us. Great place, welcoming feel, helpful and attentive staff. We didn't eat but they have food !!! Love it here, I would definitely return and recommend to a friend !!! read more

I took my toddler here for her first time skating, and she had a blast. I also liked The DJ's song choices. He or she played some 90s throwback jams, and it was nostalgic for me. Unfortunately, I had to knock down a couple of stars because a some of the staff members were a bit rude, and the rentals smelled a bit like sweaty hockey socks. We came here a couple times even though my kid is still in the middle of learning how to roller skate but she had a good time still...not too crowded and have enough sitting area for non skate parents. Not sure if they are closing soon; will be sad to see them go. read more

Yesssssss!!! I used to ice skate and roller skate ALL the time growing up in the 70s and 80s, but I don't think I'd put on skates in over 30 years. Well, I did not too long ago at Holiday Skate! I'll be honest though, I used the "Skate Buddy" (or what I referred to as the "walker") which was amazing because then I could go full speed and even spin without being scared to break a hip or sprain a wrist. They rent the buddies out for $5, well worth it to get your rink-legs in shape. The reason for my sudden urge to skate? Cindi L's birthday party!! (I see your review, girl, nice!) She rented the entire rink for an 80s themed skate party. The staff was really happy and helpful, the music was awesome, and the rink was clean and in great condition. Total 70s/80s vibe even when it's not an 80s party! Located in the back area of the shopping center, kind of tucked in. Plenty of well lit parking. I didn't check out any of the amenities, including the bathrooms, and I'm not sure of prices as I was there as a party guest. But the rink and resting areas were clean and well maintained. In the skate center right now and I honestly don't want to waste my time writing this. As I went to get my skates to rent the workers were so incredibly rude and had such an attitude as I asked them for the skates. My next encounter I had was at the snack bar where I heard a worker tell a small child "what do you want?", I find it so disrespectful how they treat their customers. As I was skating, my friend fell and one of the workers literally laughed at her while passing by her? Honestly terrible service and I wouldn't recommend. read more

Cool little skating rink right off Chapman exit off 55 freeway. This place has some serious 80's vibe and gives me flashbacks when i was a kid. My daughter turning 13 and wanted to go roller skating and this place fits the bill. You pay at the front before they let you in. I feel this is a good thing as it prevents loitering and trouble makers from coming in with no intent to skate. Staff is really cool and young and are helpful if anyone takes a spill on the floor. Music and lighting is pure 80's and i love it. Really gives you that Steamer Things feel to it. They have drinks and food service there so after you've worked up a sweat and appetite you can grab a snack and drink. Would be a cool place to have a birthday party. read more

It was a hot day so it was hot inside but other than that, I highly recommend this rink and would love to start coming here more often. read more

Had a super wonderful time! I'm relatively new to roller skating and went once with my sister on a Tuesday night and again on Sunday with friends during adult skate night. If you're not comfortable zooming and skating backwards yet, I most definitely recommend not going to adult skate night haha. Either way, the vibe was amazing and you can tell there is a strong community here that will help you if you look like a baby giraffe walking for the first time. Only reason I put 4 stars is because it does have a bit of a musty smell when you first go in, but you go nose blind to it very quickly. Music was great, staff was great, people were great. My only suggestion would be to try and dim the lights a little more :) read more

This review is long overdue. We came here for a private event birthday party for my daughter's friend. My 5year old had sooo much fun we booked it on the spot for her 6th birthday. All the kids had the best time! I loved being able to have a private event there for a reasonable price. There was no food included but i was happy about that because we had so much flexibility to do what worked for us. We brought in pizza and an ice chest of drinks. The party we attended had a food truck in the parking lot! You also have to set up and take down your own decorations but again I liked the flexibility to do as much or as little as we wanted! Cost included skate rentals for x amount of skaters. They offered me a lot of options. Rather than charging ME for extra skaters, they could advise guests that only the kids' skate rentals are paid, and adults have to pay on their own. (I didn't do that but it is helpful to know you have flexibility with who pays for additional guests or skaters). I was able to decide how many skater aids i wanted to pay for, or have guests pay. I paid for 5, and asked the staff to let me know if more people were asking for them. They did come and let me know more people asked for them and talked me through their advice on the topic. With a private event you're also allowed on the skating rink without skates! Only for private event. They let me know when I book that I could create my own Spotify playlist for the DJ to play, but instead I came with a list of 10 songs my daughter wanted and asked them to create an age appropriate mix based off those songs. The DJ announced food, cake, an end of event heads up, anything I wanted on my schedule. They even let me use their mic to say thanks to my guests so i didn't have to shout to everyone. The staff was amazing throughout. Even though you are in charge of your schedule, set up and clean up, etc, they were very helpful, informative, and had positive and friendly attitudes. They were available for every question and happy to support. Highly recommend booking a private party here again!!!! Surprised there aren't more reviews about this!! read more

I have been to at least 3 or 4 skating rinks and this rink has one of the worst safety reinforcements. The rink had no refs for the first 10 minutes or if they did, the ref was skating and not doing his job. Kids fell and no ref was there to cover. This rink allows strollers but I saw a parent trip and flip his stroller. I recommend going to Moonlight or Skate Express where rules are enforced and safety is taken seriously! read more

We had a great time at this place. We decided to do the adult skating time. I'm not sure if that was the right move for a lot of beginners we came with. I hosted an OC Singles event there and it was a great turn out. Some of us had our own skates and others were able to rent. They also had the option of using a "skating helper" to assist in skating so as not to fall. It almost looks like a granny walker on all wheels. It helped the adults who didn't know how to skate. As for the adult night, there were songs that they would announce for everyone to get off the floor so they could have a theme. Great place for a party. read more

I'm glad we did because, workers are REALLY nice and friendly, the food is actually not that bad, and the skating games are always fun. Little frustrating today. And with better protocols and attention to guest service it could've been avoided. Google, Yelp!, and their own website said they were open - with the exception of a tiny line not near "Sunday" hours. I was clearly not the only person who didn't see it. There were many upset people walking up ready to skate. All it would take was an empathetic employee (which she was NOT), and a tiny 241 or free pass. They knew this weekend was coming. The event they had was not a surprise to them. A simple "We're sorry, we goofed not changing our advertising. Here's a 241 or a pass to come back. Sorry for the misunderstanding." Being "mom and pop" can be good. But being professional and kind is universally better. read more

This place is my go tooooo! Unfortunately everything is closed during this lockdown and I'm writing this review with nostalgia. I've only ever had one bad experience here but they made up for it. I came with a big group of my family members and we all paid to go in low and behold the ones that needed rental skates couldn't skate because they RAN OUT of skates!!! Crazy. I know. It was really disappointing and it ruined our fun for the day. They begrudgingly returned us all our money and we left. Luckily I own my own pair so every time I go I've never had that problem. I recommend going with your own skates to avoid this from happening. Other than that mishap I've had a great time at this place with my friends and family. I do personally prefer the afternoon hours but the problem with that is you have more kids versus the evening hours. They get jam packed later in the day but you also have less kids falling in front of you and making you trip haha either way this place is fun! read more
