Came with friends for their public skate on a Sunday from 2-4 pm, and had a great time! Although we mistakenly thought there would be an ice rink, and intended to come for ice skating, we ended up having a blast rollerblading. It's only $5 for the public skate, and an additional $3 if you need to rent their rollerblades. This made for a fun afternoon activity with family and friends!

Call me old but I'll still call this Gretzky's or 949. You can't break me of it! :) Other than the horrendous ducks decor, the rink remains the same as before. The bathrooms are baren but clean, functional and there's always towels & toilet paper. The staff is friendly & the apparel and equipment in the store is adequate for last minute items. They changed up the pricing for the adult leagues recently where everyone pays the same...but not everyone gets the same "ice time." (Something to hash out internally in the leagues.) You can bring your own snacks & cooler but they have a little snack bar as well. In the winter, the dry mix hot chocolate tastes pretty good on those metal bleachers! Bring quarters if you have little ones in the little arcade area; an addition I really enjoy! :)

My son will no longer be playing here. Will shepherd should not be allow to run this. He is 24 and can not handle the responsibility for this. He DOES NOT care about the children safety he only cares about his pay check. My son who plays under 8u got hit in the face by another player and there was no call. My son got hit so hard he dislocated his jaw. Will just say that's hockey no penalty call no ice to even offer. Nothing he just said he should toughen up.

Yes, the parking situation needs help, but this aside, it's a pretty nice rink. I like how the rinks are outside and the smell of " skate stank" dissipates in the outdoors. The bathrooms are clean and they have a nice skate shop and waiting area. The tournaments seem to be organized well and run smooth.

HOME! No better place to be in Southern California than the Irvine In-line hockey rinks, especially now that the Anaheim Ducks are involved. From playing to coaching the Raiders HC, we are proud to call this facility home of our players & parents.

Just had my daughter's 12th birthday party last night and it was epic. The kids are still talking about it. Lisa and David who were out party helpers were fantastic. They did everything they could to make it a great party.

Ask the Community - The Rinks Irvine Inline

When are their public skate times? Can't find anything on the website and they're not picking up.

Mon-Fri 2:30-4 Fri & Sat 7-10 I just called to find out and they answered. Hope this helps.

What is the largest size skate available to rent?

Do they have lockers to leave shoes?

Yes, there are lockers available although most people just leave their shoes on or under the bleachers.

During public skating, are roller skates (2 wheels in the front & back) allowed on the rink or only the inline/rollerblades?

Yes, traditional quad skates are allowed during public skate sessions.

Do they allow quad skaters, or is it inline only?

Yes, quad skaters are welcome. There is a back rink with free skating sessions every weekday afternoon from 2.30-4pm. Cost is $5. Few skaters, and definitely no hockey players (who are using the front two rinks). Friendly staff - give it a try!!!

Super affordable to skate too- $12 on a Sunday for 2.5 hrs skating. It's extra for skates but we brought our own. Notes: **The calendar said the vibe was "top 40" for this session but there were a lot of songs that brought the energy down. Would love more upbeat music. **My brother did say there was no doors in the men's bathroom... like at all, every stall is open. I'm not sure the reason for that but it seemed pretty unsafe. Women's had doors. Will be back!

Highly recommend coming here. Associates here are all so nice especially met the owner Don this afternoon during a Thanksgiving playdate w Harpers Friend 11.25.25 The Dj/host is awesome playing the latest and all time greatest hits! They have a clipboard also for songs request. They are interactive with you hosting skating games during open skate or Birthday parties too where they also do a shout out for the bday celebrant. Where the winners get a free coupon for over at the Snack bar. Love the vibe here. Really clean but of course some areas are a little bit older. It's just giving nostalgic vibes here. Have a snack bar that serves icee, fountain drinks, pizza, nachos, churros and so much more. The skating rink been open for 52 years. Located right off the 55 Freeway, Chapman Ave. Lots of parking available. Tip always check out their website for Thanksgiving/Winter/Summer or holiday Breaks. This is my second year in a row skating during the holiday season and I've had the best time here. There's a reason there's a lot of skaters that get season passes for this rink (and do so every year) When it rained, they worked overtime to get the ice ready for the public and open back up as soon as possible. I've seen some false reviews from (Gigi) who wasn't even there at that day who is leaving the review for another figure skater that was skating unsafe. Instead of taking accountability, they are leaving negative reviews saying they were yelled at by management when I was there and the only yelling was coming from the girls making up the complaint. Just wanted to clear that up because it's unfair of people to leave fake negative reviews when they weren't even there to begin with. The skate-guards, management. Literally everyone that works here has been so uplifting and crucial to my growth as a figure skater. Thank you for giving me the confidence to skate in front of a bunch of strangers and making every skating season here magical!!

They are right outside the rink so parking and walking over was super convenient. The parking has a limit of 90 minutes which is the same amount of time for one skating session so that worked out perfectly. There was also a parking lot nearby but I didn't wander over there. The inside of the facility is huge as well as the ice rink itself. I had registered online ahead of time, so I just had to give them my name at the check in counter. The rental skates are right next to the check in and u just told them my size. I should have gotten half a size smaller than my sneaker size for a snug fit. It's also better to wear thicker socks for a more comfortable wear since the skates can be quite stiff. There are benches to sit and change into the skates. Inside the rink there are benches and locker too (need two quarters). I left my shoes under the bench in the main lobby area and it was fine. One of the skates had wet shoelaces which I thought was weird, but other than that the skates were nice and clean. The inside of the rink area was quite cold so I'm glad I brought gloves. There were more people than I expected. (More than the website was showing how many people registered.) Despite the number of people, there was still a lot of space on the ice. The ice wasn't too bad, but I wish it was smoother. Over time, it got rougher from all the people skating. There were some tiny chips/dips in the ice too, which isn't very safe to skate over. Skating over them caused me to lose balance for a quick second. Thankfully no falls. I wish they would smooth it out at least once during the session. It's quite loud on the ice and hard to talk. The bench area was fine though.
