I was struggling to find the right helmet size and was ready to just call it go somewhere that had more staff (just to be clear i work in retail and I know it can be hard to get full staff on a holiday so I don't hold it against the store by any means I just chose the wrong day to shop lol) but then John over at the repair shop offered to help me out with the helmets adjusting them so I knew which size was right. So I kept going back to John to for any questions I had. He was very friendly, knowledgeable and professional I really appreciate him helping me out even though that wasn't his job to do. Management I want you to know John himself single-handedly kept this customer in the store when they were ready to leave and made sure my 1500 dollar sale didn't walk out the door. Thanks John!

I bought skates on sideline but didn't know anything about sizing for hockey skates and the results were predictably terrible. Everyone in the locker room really wanted to help me and recommend I go to a shop in Anaheim or to hockey monkey in Irvine. The guys vouching for hockey monkey won me over with their stories of how good the staff was. I did not have a good experience, will not go back, and do not recommend. As stated... total beginner. I informed the sales rep, Alex, about my price range and that I'm just getting started and he grabbed some skates. I settled on a a pair and he informed me of the baking process. He baked my skates, laced them up for me, told me he would be right back and that I needed to remain seated for them to cool. Then - unbeknownst to me - he clocked out and went home. I waited there with my family ( we were hard to miss) until a manager came and told me the store was closed. I felt like a complete idiot. I hadn't even paid for the skates yet. I didn't know the process. The manager told me they still needed to be sharpened. They were nice enough to do that after close and the guy doing the sharpening was cool. But I was still really disappointed and felt stupid. Everyone in the hockey community has been cool up until this point. Very discouraging. Here is the kicker. I was just sitting there. Prime customer for gear. You could have sold me waxed laces, orthotics, pads, helmet, Anything! Im super new to the sport and definitely could have used the help. Easy sales. I will be going to the other store the guys recommended in Anaheim and probably play it again or online. Why would I ever go back to MonkeySports?!?

Even though she could barely move on the ice, even with walkers- she simply loved the atmosphere. She asked to celebrate her 8th birthday here last year, and we made the date official earlier this year. We originally planned to celebrate right after school for out in May but due to the chemical spill, we scheduled it closer to her actual birthday. I just wanted to say Shannon has been a God send with all the planning and footwork beforehand. She has been in constant communication leading up to my daughter's big day. She is a phenomenal person who is very kind and works way too hard. I greatly appreciate all your help planning all this to make such an incredible birthday for Tamsin. From the moment we walked into rink, she felt like a VIP. Even though Shannon could not make it that day, Kristin was super! She was super kind, patient and walked me through the process of guest check in. She was friendly to all our guests and was very professional. She ensured we had everything we needed even before we knew it. Napkins, plates and all the party necessities were on point. The coordination for the birthday announcement, personalized song list and VIP photo on the ice was done seamlessly. The food service was also fantastic. The cafe staff kept popping in to make sure we were good and made sure we had plates, napkins and utensils. There was a boo boo pizza and they remade the correct one free of charge. Pizza, cinnamon pretzels, and wings (outside food fee/prior auth required) made Everyone happy! All of our guests, adults and kids alike had a blast! Dick's has a clearly stated 90-day return policy, and I walked in well within that timeframe--receipt in hand, ready for a simple exchange or store credit. ​That was far too optimistic. ​The staff was unhelpful, dismissive, and utterly unwilling to assist. Their reasoning? The cleats had been worn. Silly me! I didn't realize cleats bought for playing soccer were supposed to sit in a glass display case as a decorative centerpiece. Nobody mentioned this "pristine condition only" rule at checkout, and there isn't a single word about it printed on the receipt--which explicitly states items can be returned within 90 days. ​To top off the customer service experience, the staff casually informed me that this ripping is a "known defect" with this Adidas model and told me to take it up with the manufacturer. That raises a fascinating question: If you knowingly stock and sell a defective $300 product, why is your immediate response to wipe your hands clean and push the problem onto the customer? ​If Dick's Sporting Goods wants to sell luxury-priced gear with zero accountability and a return policy that only applies to items you never actually use, they should print that on the receipt instead. I have been in business for many years and have met thousands of people throughout my life, but every once in a while, you come across someone who leaves a lasting impression on your heart. Damien was one of those people. From the moment he greeted me, he treated me with kindness, respect, and genuine professionalism. Every word was spoken with courtesy: "Yes, sir," "Thank you, sir," and "It's a pleasure to help you, sir." His manners, patience, and willingness to assist were truly remarkable. As I spoke with him, I couldn't help but think back to my own teenage years. Damien reminded me of a time when respect, humility, and strong values were the foundation of a young person's character. Seeing such a respectful and hardworking young man today touched me deeply. In fact, I had tears in my eyes because it gave me hope and reassurance that there are still wonderful young people in this world. His parents deserve tremendous credit for raising such an outstanding young man, and Dick's Sporting Goods should be extremely proud to have Damien representing their company. I understand I am a customer but when I hear management openly complaining about staff I think it is so unprofessional and some things needs to be kept in the office. Also this same person seemed to get a message over their ear piece and sounded so nice and cheerful and immediately looked annoyed and started to talk crap about the employee who asked the question. This was so unprofessional and Kevin if you are reading this, maybe dont be a lead/manager if you are going to get annoyed with your staff, no one works at Dicks and makes it their career, its retail it is not that serious.
