Lucy helped us out today when we came in to try on hockey skates and get his sizing. I know nothing about hockey it's totally a new world to me and she filled me in on so many things I had no clue about. She didn't make me feel dumb at all for not knowing, and she was just so sweet and helpful to my son and me. Plus, since it was Labor Day weekend, we got an extra discount on top of everything, so it was such a great value. We had an awesome experience! read more

Pure Hockey hosted the Los Angeles Little Kings "Learn to Play" Gear Fitting for the kids league in 2026, on Sunday 12/07/25. The staff were super friendly and helpful. It was a very easy, fun and fast process. The store has so many choices in gear and apparel. This is an awesome specialty store for hockey and has some street hockey inline rollerblade skating stuff too. If you're a hockey player, this is the mecca mega super store. read more

Beware - they will sell you incorrect pads just to make the sale. These felt big at the time, but the salesman convinced us the 3" difference was fine and left him "room to grow". These are 35+2"!!!!! C'mon. They didn't have the correct size pads in stock and when we said we were going to Monkey Sports they offered us a small discount. A good salesperson would say "While I'd like to sell you these pads they aren't the right size." I will never shop at Pure Hockey again. read more

Pure Hockey - They convinced us these were a good fit! - Hockey Equipment Near Me - Anaheim, California

I walked into Pure Hockey as a first-time hockey mom knowing absolutely nothing about gear. I mean... nothing. Pads, sticks, sizing, what's required, pricing, what's optional, I was overwhelmed before I even walked in. At this point I've been here a few times and I'm quickly becoming a regular. My very first visit was with Ethan, and I hoped I'd run into him again. I was so relieved when I did. He walked my son and I through the entire store, helped size my kiddo properly, explained what everything was for, and answered all of my many mom questions without ever making me feel silly for asking. We were actually the last ones in the store right before closing, and not once did I feel rushed or pressured. As a mom trying to make sure her kid has what he needs (without buying the wrong thing), that meant so much. I felt supported and accommodated during what can honestly be a stressful process. I hate seeing negative reviews. Yes, the staff is young, but they are incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and kind. They take their time with you. They don't rush through fittings just to move on to the next person. So, if there's a bit of a wait, it's probably because they're giving another family the same care they gave mine, and I truly don't mind that at all. The staff here is wonderful. But Ethan is our favorite. We always hope he's there when we come in. read more

Just want to make it plain and simple. Last person to help us, today, since we weren't helped until we asked, was sitting and talking with the customers even after baking the skates. We sat patiently and noticed it was getting closer to closing. Then we asked if we were told they would still be able to bake my son's skates and sharpen them. One of the employees hid them and we stayed over half and hour after closing thinking it was baking. Most the staff this day was great, but the blonde kid seemed like he didn't want to do anything but talk. Disappointed. We spend lots of money here. read more

Had to get my skates sharpened and this was the only local place that I know that is open pretty late. Got here around 6pm and it was still pretty busy. Lots of people getting their skates sharpened. Brett helped me out and he was really friendly and very knowledgeable. I have a pick up game on Sunday, so we'll see how well he cut my skates. Big selection of everything hockey related. I'm sure if you need it, you'll find it here. Prices seem on par with other places, and I also believe they price match, but don't quote me on that. read more

Service That Exceeds Expectations My 13-year-old daughter visited Pure Hockey on December 27, 2025, to purchase the "Mission Inhaler fs2." After a few minutes of looking around, we were greeted by Imelda. Imelda's attention to detail was impeccable! She consistently exceeded our customer service expectations and made my daughter feel at ease. Imelda carried herself well and had a great deal of patience for our family, as it isn't easy for my daughter to open up, given that she is on the autism spectrum and struggles to communicate her needs. Imelda made sure to ask all the correct questions, which resulted in the perfect fit for my daughter's new skates! Thank you, Imelda, you were absolutely amazing! We look forward to seeing you again for a later purchase! read more

Reading through several reviews was difficult not to notice the comments regarding customer service. I arrived on a a Sunday about 2PM and was greeted at the door and directed to where the "shinnys" were in my sons size. During my visit I asked a few people for help (first time in the store) amd found the customer service to be nothing like the bad reviews. A young man even went to the back to find my size XXL in Bauer coaching pants . Sunday was my birthday so ..... had to mosey into the skates section. I inquired about fitting using the Bauer custom fitting center. That was definitely an eye opener to what I though my shoe size was and reality. Several of my fellow officials rave about "True Skates". Was informed only the manager can fit you for these skates. A few minutes later a gentleman named Greg came over and provided a wealth of information regarding fitting and even took the time to fit my feet, twice. Once without my custom orthopedic insoles and one with. He created two profiles to send to True and stated he would e-mail them regarding which profile would be better. He handed me his card and stated he would be in contact soon. WOW all this on one visit. I found the customer service here to be exceptional. Nothing like the reviews I read. Stop by and see for yourself , ignore the noise of a few bad reviews. Some people just can not help themselves when writing reviews if things do not go there way. Besides I learned in business you can not please all the people all the time For today I was pleased with the service at Pure Hockey. The Manager Greg was and the entire team on Sunday were awesome !!!!! read more

Are you making so much money that customer service is beneath you now? Because that's the only explanation for why you can't lift a single finger to answer a phone call or help paying customers. Five calls, five different times, five different days & months, and not one answered. Why bother advertising a number if it's just there for decoration? Last weekend I actually drove down because you guessed it NO ONE ANSWERED THEIR PHONE! 40 minutes of gas and time I'll never get back and dropped thousands of dollars in your store. Not because you earned it, but because I needed the gear. And what did I find? An EMPTY floor. Staff clustered together laughing like it's social hour, one poor guy chained to the skate sharpening area while the rest acted like they were on break at a theme park. Not one cared. Not one moved. Thankfully you had most of what I needed but not all, which again if I knew earlier I could have ordered it. Here's the kicker, I wasn't pissed about the prices I know hockey is stupid expensive. I was pissed that I'm paying thousands at a place that can't even provide the most basic service. Answering a phone. Offering help. Pretending for two seconds like customers matter. Parents like me bleed money into hockey. We juggle insane schedules, gas costs, fees, and somehow still show up. The least you could do is meet us 1/10th of the way and ANSWER THE STUPID PHONE! I'm sure the kids working the counter answer their cellphones non stop, it's always in their hand or pocket...playing pocket hockey. But instead, the message is loud and clear: You don't care. You don't care about the customer. You don't care about the loyalty. You don't care about the thousands spent. This place used to be a trusted go-to. Now it's just an overpriced hangout for employees who mistake "clocking in" with "checking out." So yeah, congratulations. You've officially made me never want to give you another dime. If ignoring customers is your business model, you're nailing it. Answer the damn phone. Help the people who keep your lights on. Or enjoy watching your business skate on to another store. I only went there due to loyalty, but places have popped up all over. You're not the only place in town. Giving you all 2 stars, just because I've been shopping at this location for over 14 years! But it's gone way down hill in the past year. read more

How are there 4 to 5 employees and I'm the only customer and I can't seem to get anyone to help me. It's like those memes where a customer has a question and the employees keep running away. Our first time at Pure Hockey in Anaheim. We had a really good experience and purchased a hockey stick for my 6 year old son. The staff was great, greeted us when we entered and checked on us while we were deciding on a hockey stick. They are extremely knowledgeable and helped us pick the right stick (size, weight, flex, curve) for our son. They trimmed the the stick to size (complimentary) and left room for growth. Prices are very reasonable. Huge selection of hockey gear with helpful, knowledgeable staff. Conveniently located off the 5 freeway. Highly recommend. read more

I cannot say enough nice things about the staff here today. We stopped in at 1030 to get my son's new skates baked and sharpened, the staff could not have been more courteous and helpful; normally around the holidays you're stuck with the B-team skeleton crew, and that's the opposite of what we had today - we had the A team and they were on their game. Thanks!!! read more

Stopped in for sock tape and left with a pair of new Bauer Supremes. Anna was the best, helping me from a scan of my feet and pressure analysis -- even though, no joke, she knew my exact sizing based on a few questions before the Bauer scan was done. Anna was great about having me try on the CCM and True comps, and making sure the fit was perfect by having me try a couple size and fits up. Couldn't have been an easier and more enjoyable skate fitting. And awesome to get that extra personal touch I wouldn't have gotten just buying from the website. Now I just have to go out there and try to skate half way as good as my feet feel. Thanks Pure Hockey! read more

Just left the store, getting my wheels and bearings replaced. I had lost an axel, and Brett (store manager) went out of his way to find a new one for me. I really am grateful for this store and will be back! read more

This is just a quick update. Took my skates in today to possibly look at getting some new insoles. Tom who was working behind the skate counter, came over and could not of been more helpful. He walked me through the different versions of the insoles, gave me the pros and cons. Then really as we dug down to it it might actually be in the rivets and not the insoles. You worked on those two rivets to flatten them out more, give me some additional tips on what else I could do to maybe help with that. The notice the skates for Dale offered to sharpen them and jumped on that right away. Tommy was above and beyond, great customer service. I suggest you seek him out I know I will be next time I head in. read more

Talk about Disneyland for hockey player! I came to Pure Hockey (use to be Hockey Giant) since we got discount for playing in the Anaheim Throwback Classic Hockey Tournament. In Vegas no major store only selling all things hockey. I truly was kid in candy store. Pure Hockey they carry all the major brands for just about every piece of hockey equipment imagine. So the store is pretty huge. I love the way everything is separated from each other. The flow of the store is awesome. They also have full service ship in the store. Our goalie got his face cage (the grill) change they did it on the spot and quality work. If not little issues to sharpening skates or what not they got u covered. The prices are pretty fair range from the high end to the mid range equipment. The best part is u get try them on make sure it the right fit. The staff is very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. Just wish had store like this in Vegas. Thankfully playing in this tournament can count on stopping by once year. Also if not they have website u can get the same stuff in the store. read more

The staff is great, they have a nice selection and it's local to work so it's a solid 5 stars for me. Some youth sizes were spotty but it could be because the season just started. I was able to find the "last one left" in my son's size so I don't know if PH will order if they're out the size you're looking for. Prices are comparable and some items are cheaper than other competitors. The VGHC apparel is the same but they are lacking in women's apparel. The Bauer cosmetic bag was $24 online and $20 at PH. I was going to use it as a cute hockey Mom purse; haha. Be sure to sign up for their rewards program. I got $10 free to spend which is a nice gesture. Duuuuuuude! Matt was awesome. I came in for either for the Hyperlites or the Mach's. They didn't have the Hyperlite's in my size so that made my choice easy. Plus, he told me about the different blades and benefits and helped me pick the best one, along with getting the right sharpening. I needed get my skates sharpened, and this place was highly recommended. So, I drove an hour and ten mins (the only good store for the service I needed). I walked in and was greeted right away by this nice gentleman behind the skate desk, asking if he could help me with anything. I told him I needed my skates sharpened. I browsed the store while waiting for my skates which took approximately ten minutes. The store was great and had a good selection of all brands, Equipment, and clothing options. There's nothing quite like the feeling of driving almost an hour to this store and they don't have hardly any of the items you need. Can't tell you how many times I've driven all the way here and they didn't have the stick, the ref pants, the skates or sizes I needed. You are better off buying direct from the manufacturer. This company will not stand by you as a customer and their markup is insane.
