Came here for a date night. I was able to make reservations online which was quick and straightforward. We paid $25 per person for one hour. It says it's 3 people per lane and so if you have a bigger group, you have to reserve an additional. We arrived earlier than our reservation. Time but they let us join in early. We quickly signed a waiter and got to our lane. The worker demonstrated the different axes we could throw. There was a small and thin one, small axe, medium axe, long and big axe, and a shovel. I liked the small and thin one best. It's cool because the target is digital and they have tons of different options to pick from. Our favorite was the regular target and the tic tac toe. They had strategy ones as well. I noticed that the board panels were thick and the axes were dull and so it would still, but fall off quickly after. Not sure if I wasn't hitting it with enough power, but even the worker couldn't get his axe to stick when he was demonstrating. You can't drink alcohol inside the building, but there's a bar next door. They let us go back and forth, but that took time away from our hour. They have drinks and snacks for purchase. Overall, it was a really cool experience and a great price compared to some other Axe throwing spots I've seen. read more

The concept of the place with the digital projector to reflect on the wood is cool and the ability to choose other games to play is cool. If your coming here for just that easily 5 starts but if you're coming for the experience of the brewery and food too, this were it's lacks and other places are more fulfilling in this sense. The beer was ok it's in a completely other room you have to travel back and forth to take sips. You want food you have to order it online through a 3rd party and it's only Mexican food. Again the concept is cool, they are just lacking what's other places already have established which is a more fulfilling experience. Came on a Sunday afternoon, wasn't packed at all, and Noah helped us out... nice guy, and was able to sling some axes for an hour. In reflecting upon the recently concluded 2024 Summer Olympic Games in Paris, I found it interesting which new "sports" these Games chose to include. The global competition this year featured the Olympic debut of "Breaking" (a.k.a., "Break Dancing"), which led me to wonder which other new "sports" might appear at a Games in the future. In an offer of support to the International Olympic Committee, we assembled a Review Team to consider the inclusion of "Axe Throwing" as a future Olympic event. The equipment we utilized ranged from hatchets to full length axes (with sharpened shovel heads thrown in for good measure) and presented various challenges that only increased the interest level during our competition. There were a variety of games to choose from including traditional target practice, Zombie eradication, Tic Tac Toe, Candy Crush, and Wheel of Fortune. Getting an axe to stick in the wooden targets proved to be more difficult than you might think and having one ricochet all the way back to where you're standing is not that uncommon. The staff was really helpful in providing us with some coaching tips (and also helped us complete our experience injury-free ). I was disappointed that my Braveheart impression completely failed to intimidate my opponent, and was surprised to learn that the wooden targets need to be replaced every 2-3 days, that there is a collection of broken axe handles on display at the Bone Yard, and that all kids 12 and under throw for free on Monday and Wednesday nights. If you're feeling a little "dull", a visit to SoCal Axe is such a unique experience that it might just cast you to an entirely sharper mindset. Fun games that you can play while axe throwing. I was able to use most of the axes except the really large one. I was able to make the shovel. There's a bar next door if you want drinks. You just can't bring the drink next to you it has to stay at the bar area. It's $25 a person to throw axes for an hour. read more

I love axe throwing, I'm not so good at it, but I do love it! In the past, I'd only been to some throwing locations in San Diego, so I really needed to find some place closer to home. Temecula is about an hour away, but still closer! Making an online appointment was simple and easy. The day of the throw, we arrived early and were lucky enough to be able to start right away. This place is really awesome! I mean, for the most part, it is about the same with a "batting cage" style layout. But SoCal now has interactive "games" you can play; Connect Four, Tic Tac Toe, moving bullseye locations, axe the zombies... made the experience a little bit more fun! Plus they give you a couple of choices with your size of axe and even a shovel head. They are tucked away in the shopping center with an adjoining brewery. Definitely a cool set up and chill vibe. Plenty of parking too. The helpers at the front desk were very informative and helpful, explaining the different ways to throw and which ways work best. They also walk you through how to play the games. They were great with any questions we had as well. Pricing online seemed pretty confusing... but for the 2 of us to throw for a 1/2 hour was $40. SoCal Axe was a unique place that is convenient and well worth the price. Right next to the mall, SoCal Axe is a great Place to blow off some steam. The web site is extremely manageable and allows reservations, and to easily alter your reservations when the restaurant you choose underperforms. The staff is friendly we got there at 7 and they needed us to wait :15 because they were running behind. It's okay, because there is a beer bar in the adjoining building. Never been Axe throwing before and these guys had no problem explaining how to do it. If you ask for a little extra knowledge, they will actually coach you with a smile. We decided to try out SoCal Axe for a family fun night and introduce our son to a novel and unique experience. Booking a lane and waiver completion (online) was a easy. We were greeted by Christian who escorted us to our lane and was super friendly and patient with our 6-year old. He gave us a safety briefing, instruction on axe handling and throwing technique. They have a variety of games/skill challenges on their axe target projector system....a lot of cool options for adults and kids. I was initially apprehensive about bringing our young child with us but was pleased with measures taken enforce safety, by employees circulating around the lanes to supervise activity discretely and zero tolerance for intoxication or rowdy behaviour. The location is perfect the inside is clean and the service is spectacular I came here in my birthday and if it's your birthday you get to throw for free. Prices are pretty reasonable and again the service and friendly staff make it that more enjoyable They have a bar adjacent to the axe room so you never have to worry about stay hydrated. They're open as of late December 2020 covid times. They allow you to bring outside food, but not alcohol. We brought some sushi trays from Shogun nearby and it worked out well. I can't comment on price/value, as my mom treated us to this. You sign a waiver and then have at it. Several different types of weapons to throw, including a shovel head. Lots of fun! First time here party of 6 and it was all our first time axe throwing. We called a head of time to reserve 2 lanes at 1230pm the day of. We went online and signed waivers to save time. We arrived 10mins early and the guy working assisted us to our lanes and he gave us 3 lanes instead of 2 which was nice. Each lane has a target with a barrel that holds a variety of axes (size and shapes), and chalk board. They have tables and stools infront of every lane where you can place your items. And they also have instructions on the different games that can be played. And he briefly showed us how to throw the axe. We had so much fun.
