Our French cooking teacher for date night.
    Mark D.

We came here for a date night cooking class. I believe this is the third one we've been to. Usually 4-5 couples and you bring your own bottle of wine. Celine, our French born cooking class teacher is the best. She puts every body to work gratting, cutting, seasoning or cooking. The ambience is fun and friendly and very enlightening on ways to cook. Celine walks us through explaining as she goes and all the while managing the time. It's a fun experience and you get to meet some interesting people. Tbe class starts at 7 pm and ends at 9 pm. We're usually there til 9.15 helping to clean up. Highly recommend this class and it could be a couple or just two friends. You'll have a great time.

Today was my last day of volunteer work at Temecula Community Recreation Center (CRC). This has been a worthwhile and rewarding experience for me. I have lived in Temecula for four years and volunteering here has introduced me to the many things the city of Temecula offers to this wonderful community. For example: weekly summer concerts in a beautiful community amphitheater, summer day camp with loads of fun for the kids, a variety of aquatics programs for young and old at a beautiful pool complete with water slide, a variety of classes, access to park and recreation center rentals, teen programs (a safe haven and things to do for teens) . . . I could go on and on about the good things that go on here. While here I observed and learned a few things about what goes on here. Summer day camp is a deal that they do not widely promote because there is such a demand. No wonder. For a very reasonable cost the kids have a variety of weekly activities and a field trip. Field trips include movies, beach trips, and today a trip to the San Diego Zoo (all included in the cost of day care). I am very impressed by the young group of "kids" who staff the day care, with direction of CRC management. The gym is closely monitored for safety reasons with specified hours for events. It is not an open gym for public use, except when specified. For instance, teen basketball is not open to adults during teen gym hours. This is a safe guard to the teens. There is a family night on Friday evenings. The kids and their parents love, love Miss Cathy's Tiny Tots classes. The CRC staff is on alert to suspicious behavior. Again, safety to the kids and those who frequent here is a priority. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The staff is friendly and do their best to provide good customer service. We are very fortunate to have this wonderful recreation center as part of our community.

We attend special needs basketball at the gymnasium. Its disappointing that Temecula only has time on Saturday early mornings for our special needs kkiddo. It's nice meeting other special needs families in our community, but we all hope for more opportunities. More than once a week would be terrific!!

I will NEVER enroll my child to the Crc day camp! And will always share the bad experience my son had there.

Lake Skinner - A Perfect Camping & Glamping Escape!…read more Yesterday, I packed up my two boys (ages 8 & 10) and their friend from school (also 8) for our very first camping/glamping adventure at Lake Skinner--and it was absolutely perfect. We booked a site with just the basics--electrical and water hookups--for only $50, which was all we needed for our tiny camper. The campground was clean, well-organized, and had plenty of open sites with different options and amenities, including a camp store for convenience. Some of our favorite spots were the splash pad and the playgrounds--perfect for keeping the kids entertained. Even if you just come for the day, these areas alone make it worth the trip. The kids had a blast, and it was wonderful seeing so many other families enjoying themselves too. Since we had their friend with us, we left around 8 PM to drop him back home--only about a 20-minute drive to Murrieta--then returned to the campsite, played a few games in the camper, and settled in for the night. With a 6 AM wake-up, we still made it home in time to freshen up, eat breakfast, and get the kids ready for school. (We even packed their backpacks just in case we needed to go straight from camp!) My boys haven't stopped talking about the trip--how much fun they had, how exciting it was to sleep overnight, and how much they want to go back. As a retired Navy Chief (41 years old) now balancing a busy real estate career, this is exactly how I want to spend my free time--unplugging, connecting with nature, and making lasting memories with my kids. Affordable, family-friendly, and packed with fun--Lake Skinner has definitely earned a spot on our repeat list. We can't wait to do it again!

Fun place for all ages including adults…read more We got the Groupon deal which works on attractions, arcade and food. There's one ticket counter line shared with the food line. You go here to redeem and each of us received a card. they had stickers to label the cards to tell them apart. We did the 18 hole miniature golf, go karts, and batting cages. The go kart has a separate toddler track near the batting cages. I actually got bored on the track because they have you out there for a good 10 minutes and all you do is go in circles. The batting cages were tricky based on the speed of the ball. Make sure you wear your helmets. Afterwards we played in the arcade. We ordered nachos for $3.75. They asked if we wanted jalapeños, we said on the side. Turns out, it was $1 charge for a small container! At least be honest and give heads up. I was wondering why nachos cost almost double. Plenty of seating everywhere. Private parties were happening all over.

Family-friendly fun!…read more It's rare to find a place that can keep the family and, let alone, one's self, entertained for more than a couple hours. But Mulligans does the job. Inside, there is a seating section where you can watch a game while eating or having a drink. The arcade is right next to it as it is all an open-space which is nice. Heading outside, there are a variety of activities to choose from. They've got 2 x 18 holes of putt-putt golf with fun, festive layouts. The electric go-karts drove fast for go-kart level and it was a fun track as well. I can probably count the number of times I've played laser-tag on 2 hands but a couple of times the laser didn't work but at Mulligans it worked both times we've been there. Super fun! They even have a toddler section with a little playground, a couple slow rides and slow go/karts. They just gotta get a couple tv's up on the wall of the outdoor seating area. They probably used to have them up so I'm assuming they'll be putting new ones up.
