My washing machine incurred flooding from a faulty inlet solenoid valve, which has since been replaced. There was no automatic alarm, so the water percolated from my laundry room to the one directly below mine. The first I knew about this event, was from a plumber sent upstairs to my unit by the HOA. ARC Water Damage provided all the abatement measures needed to prepare the space for subsequent contractors on the drywall-, plumbing-, electrical- and painting work. This company was prompt and efficient and the preparations were reasonable, not opportunistic. ARC Water Damage also took care to segregate the regular work from the additional measures taken to address the exacerbated condition of the unit below mine. The anticipated damage there had worsened, because the owner of that unit had not made arrangements for access to her laundry room for 21 days. The only reason I have awarded 4 stars out of 5, was that the invoices I needed for my own claim against the washing machine manufacturer were not sufficiently detailed and needed some additional explanations. Nina was very helpful throughout. Perhaps these memories are still too fresh. My God! Everyone at ARC was phenomenal. I was having difficulty with using the preferred provider Disaster Kleenup Solutions and was told to contact ARC. I was so glad that I did. After getting a full denial from my insurance company, Nina coached me on what to say to my homeowners association insurance company. (No, I didn't lie or omit, just explained in insurnace speak and was not denied.) Needless to say the association insurance did not deny us and all ensuing damages were paid. The whole crew came in and finished their job in under four hours. I was so impressed. Joseph who was the lead technician was a really nice guy and was able to answer all of my wife's questions. Please understand, insurance companies are out to deny if they can. If you have and flooding issues you do not have to use the preferred providers, especially if they are going to deny you. I feel like water restoration companies overcharge exorbitantly. They inherently have you over a barrel since it's an emergency situation and the mitigation has to happen quickly before any repair work can occur. That said, ARC did a really good job. Their dispatcher, maybe the owner?, Nina was able to get a crew out pretty quickly to Santa Rosa. She kept us posted all along the way. It seems they can operate all over the Bay Area efficiently, got the job done and communicated well. While these service providers seem like necessary evils, I believe ARC performed very well in servicing the drying out of saturated ceiling sheet rock we had from a water leak. read more

We returned from a short vacation to find a supply hose to a toilet had disengaged. Water had been jetting into the house for days. Our plumber recommended ARC and they were wonderful. ARC came to my house about five years back because there was an odor underneath my house and it was determined to be a burst pipe. The plumbers came and fixed the pipe, and afterwards ARC came by to dry out the crawl space and sanitize the area. The odor was gone , and they took pictures for us to show us how it look after they cleaned everything up. We were happy with the work. Then you might ask - why did it take me over 5 years to share this review. Recently my parents wanted their crawl space looked at because they were concerned with water damage /standing water because their yard has an issue with some flooding and they were worried that the water will get into the vents. Yesterday we had 4" black water removed from under our house and had such a good experience. Earlier in the week, my husband spoke to Nina, the Manager, and scheduled for Joe and Jesse to come out and give us a quote. We had also asked two other companies to quote as well. ARC was the best price and Joe and Jesse arrived promptly at 8am yesterday to complete the work. I was told that the job would take around 4 hours. I felt comfortable leaving them at the house while I went to work (they are professionally and trustworthy) and the Joe called me at 12noon to say the job was complete - as promised! When I got home, my house smelled a slight minty fresh! Joe had also coordinated with our plumber who arrived promptly to fix the offending pipe under our office. These folks are great. I had a really disgusting sewage spill in my basement, and they came out immediately to give me an estimate. They returned the next day and cleaned EVERYTHING. The basement has never been this clean. The people who actually did the work were really pleasant to work with, too. They did mold remediation for me. They came out right away, checked the problem very meticulously, gave a reasonable bid, and throroughly took care of the problem. However, getting them to send you the mold remediation report is like pulling teeth. They do good work, however. update - they called me yesterday (Saturday, the day they wanted me to sit home all day waiting for their contractor to maybe show up) - NOT to follow up on re-scheduling the completion of the work, but to get a fax or email from me, message said they have to send me "something". Maybe a certificate of de-molding? Maybe some sort of retaliation for posting on yelp - who knows. Called them back three times, no response. (Interesting, since they have a 24-hour line for emergency response - I guess that's just to get new business, not to take care of existing customers.) So still no confirmation of when they will finish the job, even though last week we talked about scheduling the guy for tomorrow. So, I guess it'll have to be a surprise. I'll keep you posted... I am really glad I withheld payment on this job until completion - normally they force you to pay as you go, leaving you with absolutely no leverage to get the job completed in a timely manner, or completed at all, for that matter. (Of course, even with no payment it appears they are not too motivated, 'cuz it still ain't done.....) I feel very confident that if I had used the other company, this job (which wasn't that big to begin with) would have been totally complete in 4-5 days. With these guys it's been 10 days, and counting. At this point, everything is dry, and they just need to replace the carpet pad that they had to remove, re-install the dried carpeting and re-attach my baseboards. Right now the front of my house is a construction zone, and I just want it put back the way it was - that's what they say they do - I just want them to do it. read more

This is the second time I used ARC for a property with water damage in Solano County. Based on the first experience, I did not call anyone else, I trusted them. The final bill was 1.5 times the original estimate. I have no reason to doubt that that amount of work was done. I just do not believe a professional could make the big of a mistake in estimating. We have a house in Vallejo that was having a water and mold issue. Our tenants told us they felt there was mold all around the house and we thought it was a good idea to have a professional company come out to diagnose the issue. I called the ARC around 9 pm and did not expect to get a call back that night, but Nina called me right back. I explained the problem with the tenant thinking they had black mold and she discussed the best way to go and that they would only test if they felt it was necessary. Our tech Joe was right on time. very nice and very professional. He looked in the crawl space and immediately put me at ease and the tenant by letting him know that the line all around the house was not mold, but was lime from the water that was sitting under the house. He looked around and did not see any evidence of Black mold. He then went inside so the tenant could show him where they found mold. He let them know that there is mold everywhere and in his opinion, we had no black mold. He also told them that they needed to move the furniture away from the walls and have less clutter. They needed to use the dehumidfier that and leave the window open when they shower. It was great that he backed up when we had told them already! He did not feel it needed to be tested. I told Joe that a plumber was coming out to give me an estimate on a sump pump but would not be there for another 20 minutes or so. He said he would come back to talk to the plumber if I wanted him to. I thought that was excellent customer service! He did come back. The tenant insisted that we test for mold, so Joe had to come back 1 more time. The test itself took longer than we thought to get back from the lab, but Nina made a point of getting it to me -even on a satudayl She even got my questions answered right away from the lab. I hope I never need their services again, but if you need a good, reliable water damage company, I suggest you use ARC. They give excellent customer service! read more

Less than 2 months after moving into our home, our house suffered significant water damage from a clogged drain. We didn't realize the extent of the damage and thought things would just dry on their own over time, until we noticed the hardwood floors buckling. After doing some research online, we decided calling in the professionals to dry the house was the proper thing to do. I called two companies, one of which was a nationwide franchise. Both quotes were outrageous. It was also nearly impossible to reach someone responsive on the other end of the line with the larger company. I then found ARC via YELP and decided to get an estimate from them. Ben came out to inspect the house. Immediately we sensed that he was an intelligent person who knew his craft and cared about doing the right thing. He wasn't just there to sell his company's services and generate revenue. The water damage incident was extremely stressful for us, as it was our first house and we were dealing with an uncooperative insurance company. ARC, by contrast, was reassuring and easy to work with. My calls were always promptly returned by Ben and Nina (from the office), and they even offered support on dealing with the insurance company should I have needed it. Work was started as soon as we made a decision to proceed. Ben made a couple of follow up/monitor visits and it was a pleasure to talk to him every time. I had become a bit weary of contractors by then, but I felt confident and comfortable dealing with Ben and Nina. I found them dependable and trustworthy. In the end, my house was dried, and we even came under the initial estimate, which was extremely reasonable in comparison to the first two quotes from the other companies. A bit slow in responding to my request for a bid. We played phone tag a number of times. The bid was received right after the site visit. The bid was reasonable, but we never heard back on some follow-up questions so we went with another firm. Can't say for sure, but perhaps everyone was too busy dealing with the San Jose flooding. Ben and Nina were awesome. We bought our house in April and after the big December rains, discovered major drainage issues which caused severe flooding to the downstairs rental unit. Nina was really helpful getting everything scheduled and understanding our situation. Ben, who came out to our house to do the estimate and do the work, is a super nice guy and was very thoughtful in how he went about doing the mold remediation. He was aware of the impact it had on our tenants and tried to be sensitive about their things while also making quick progress on the work. It turned out the damage was much more extensive than we thought and we've ended up having to gut the whole place. If we'd known the damage was so severe, we would have gone with a demo company rather than a pricier, careful mold remediation team like ARC, but there was no way to know when we started the project. Ben did great work on the areas he worked on before we stopped the careful cutting ($$$) and decided to tear everything out. While we were managing the stress of a much bigger repair than expected, trying to care for our disgruntled tenants and researching contractors for various aspects of the snowballing project, Ben was patient and understanding. He seemed to truly care for his clients and commiserate with the stress we were experiencing. Before we rebuild, we plan to consult with ARC to make sure the space is clean and dry.
