Last week they worked at my property. I will elaborate on the good, bad and ugly in this review. Good : There were 2 ppl from the company who came to work at my place. They did a good job providing estimates and the actual work. Bad and Ugly : Of all the companies that I used yelp for, Nina from this company stands out as the most incompetent and screw the customer attitude once you get the money. She doesn't know how to do the job and also doesn't keep up her word on the deliverables. There were 2 things I specifically requested for before the work began 1. Clear invoice with just one line stating how much I paid that 2. Photos of pre and post actually showing the work they did. I need to submit to my insurance company. I've been following up with text messages and email and absolutely nothing to date. I get a statement tell that it's net 0 as if I paid nothing to them. If Nina doesn't know how to do her job, she should at least find out who can help her. By far the worst attitude I've seen. After a week, there is again odor in the crawl space and based on their work I will not trust them to actually take care of the customer. read more

I recently hired ARC Water Damage to deal with a water damage and mold problem in our kitchen. The company sent a representative to inspect the damaged area and determined a remediation course. After giving an estimate which we accepted a crew was sent to our home. They sealed off the damaged area and began the process of removing the water damaged and mold covered areas. Then they brought in dehumidifiers and air filters to dry out the remaining structure. This process lasted 3 days. Once done all equipment was removed. Great care was taken to not damage any of our appliances or belongings. I believe the quality of the work justified the expense. I woud recommend ARC to anyone in need of the service. read more

Quick service and everyone I dealt with was very professional. A pond was discovered under my house from a corroded kitchen drain line. This pond had to be eliminated before the plumber could repair the drain line. Nina and her team connected with the plumber so everything was taken care of in a seamless manner. One month ago we had a hot water line burst under our house while we were away. The plumber, who was the initial guy on the scene, explained the damage and called Nina at ARC Water Damage from my home. She had a crew at our house that same afternoon and they have worked pretty much every day since - and today they finished! I can't say enough good things about the two men that worked at our house daily - John and Zak. Our crawlspace is a nightmare but I never heard them complain when they were down there, ever. They were both extremely professional and friendly and I learned a lot about green and black mold! I always felt we were in good hands with the entire company, and really liked the way they worked so well with our Insurance Adjuster and other contractors we've been bringing into the house. I'd like to add that we did have green mold spread everywhere under the house, up into the floors and into the walls. John was always really good at explaining everything. They also found black mold in the kitchen walls from the water damage - so all our floors in the house are gone and most walls in the kitchen. John and Zak were always VERY careful to create as little damage as possible, to help keep our insurance person happy! I always felt confident in the precision of the work they did to make sure all the mold is gone - and it is! Our sewage ejection pipe broke open and spilled into a storage closet. Our plumber, who is very reliable, repaired the break. I knew the cleanup was beyond my capabilities and I had to get the mess cleaned and disinfected quickly because I had a contractor scheduled to do some work on that part of our house. Our plumber, who is very trustworthy, recommended ARC. I made the call and they were very responsive. The crew was on time and worked very efficiently. Everything was cleaned up in time for the contractor to start his project. read more

I would never refer this company they are thieves. They came out and gave me an estimate to do some water repair from a broken pipe. I was referred to them from the plumbing company that is trusted. I should have known when they called me before I even had a chance to call them that some thing might be up, but I wanted to get the work done and for that I paid dearly, the original estimate was for 4 to 6 hours of work and everything included for $3000. I scheduled the work for the next day when their workers arrived. They were late and unprepared. They needed to go to Home Depot to buy basic supplies to complete the job the job started two hours later than scheduled, after a minimal amount of work, the workers took a lunch break. After lunch, they came back and finished the job quickly less than three hours of work total. When I was presented with the final bill, the total requested was more than the original estimate by almost $800 a question how is that possible since the workers worked less than three hours the bill should be less I was told oh it's due to the timing... I refused to pay the inflated bill and they said they would accept the amount that was the high end of the estimate How is that possible? One might say since they only worked three of the six hours of the original estimate? The job was simple. There was no problems. There was no hard work involved. There was no additional time or materials needed. There is no reason my estimate should have been more than was originally quoted, ARC was perfectly fine with trying to collect as much money as possible from me. There was no explanation for the gouging, and we finally settled on the low amount of the estimate which still was a complete rip off. Dealing with their office manager was a complete failure also she had no explanation for the increase in charges. She requested that I give her time to review the bill before I write a terrible review of their company which I did which made no difference whatsoever. she also said she would be sending me a check for the refund of the fan that was picked up from my property by the plumber that did not happen either. It has been more than 30 days since the work was done I have heard nothing nor have I received any refund, I would never use this company for anything. They are very dishonest and looking to gouge their customers. Basically they are thieves. There are many companies out there to choose from, and I do not recommend choosing this company read more

Got three separate quotes from restoration companies, they sent people out, and it was obvious that Nina and her people were the best--they did such a good job, amazing communication, and incredibly kind. I can't say enough good things about the ARC Water Damage! They were recommended by my plumber after discovering a broken water pipe under my house. The owner, Nina Lauffer, had someone at my house within two hours of my frantic call to inspect the damage & give me an estimate to remediation of the space, removal of contaminated soil and disinfecting treatment. ARC's bid came in well below the other estimate I had received which was a welcome relief during a most stressful situation! Work was scheduled the following day. ARC's team of technicians arrived on time, were neat and polite, and in full Covid-compliant protective gear for their work. They were careful to protect my home furnishings since they had to come through the house to reach the crawl space. They were efficient with their work, despite having 110* heat and during a pandemic. Nina was also extremely helpful with coordinating and supplying information requested by my insurance adjuster. I hope I don't need ARC's services again, but if I do, it will be the first company I call. I highly recommend! read more

This isn't a review of ARC Water Damage per se but rather a review of water damage companies in general some cautionary advice for homeowners who are faced with water damage in their home. I had 4 different water damage companies come out to give me a quote for a laundry overflow which spilled several gallons of water down through a top floor and ceiling and into a wood floor below. All 4 companies came out and did a free inspection which basically consisted of waving around a moisture detector which confirmed that the area was wet. All of the estimates were for around $3000. What these guys did amounted to just ripping out a portion of the ceiling plaster, cleaning up after, and running a dehumidifier and fans for 3 days. The total was $2550 after some negotiation. A separate company was called in to address the water in the wood floor. They ran some fans and dehumidifiers for 5 days for a bill of $3000. I simply cannot believe the exorbitant bill charged for what amounted to 2 or 3 hours of unskilled labor and a few days of equipment rental. In my opinion the business model of these water damage companies must completely depend on extorting homeowners who don't know any better and are in desperate need of help when they don't know what to do. They do not repair leaks. They do not repair anything, just demolition and equipment rental. For the same price we could have easily purchased the dehumidifiers and fans and hired a handyman to remove the wet ceiling plaster. Maybe if you have a flood or a mold epidemic you should call these guys and they might have some experience with handling that kind of situation which you couldn't get elsewhere. I don't know. I just feel totally ripped off. read more

Our basement flooded in the major storm on New Year's Eve 2022. Arc came quickly, they were very careful and professional. They were extremely supportive and helpful during a very stressful situation. I feel grateful that we found them during this crisis. I'm sorry I missed out on the coupon, but ARC did a great job for us after a sewage flood that went into 2 rooms. They were professional, showed up when they said they would, knew what needed to be done and accomplished it. They were able to save sufficient pieces of the cabinet that supported the sink, left it so it could be used in the meanwhile, and our handman was able to restore it saving us a lot of $$$ over buying a new one. Our tenant had unfortunately called Roto Rooter who is the expensive (the recently raised their rate to respond by $500) and didn't do remediation. ARC took care of it. read more

The Friday before Thanksgiving I had a plumber inspect the crawl space under our house for possible leaks, since we had been detecting some unusual smells in our kitchen area. The plumber quickly detected that we had significant drain leak under our kitchen that would have to be cleaned up first before fixing the plumbing problem. Since we had plans for Thanksgiving that required a fully functional kitchen, it didn't seem possible to get this problem completely resolved in time. Luckily the plumber gave me Nina's number, which I called immediately. To my surprise she was able to send out a team the next day (i.e. Saturday) to clean the mess up. Nina couldn't have been more helpful. Plus I was also able to get the plumber back on Sunday to make all the repairs. I couldn't be more happy about ARC Water Damages responsiveness and service. I normally don't write reviews, but after working with ARC Water Damage, I felt it was warranted. A couple months ago, I worked very closely with Nina on a commercial property mold removal project that was very time sensitive. I was out of state from the work site, so Nina and her crew provided daily pictures of the progress. It was fantastic to see the progress while I was 500 miles away. The project was very large but they finished the work in less time than estimated. The quality of the work was fantastic and her crews were very flexible as we were removing equipment at the same time. The price was significantly better than another company that quoted the work. I was contacted by Nina (my plumber asked her to call me) who quickly arranged for one of her staff to give me an estimate on the cleanup. Joe arrived within the promised window and provided me with a complete understanding of what the scope and extent of the job entailed. Nina followed up with me right after the estimate was agreed upon and asked if she could contact our plumber to coordinate timing between ARC's departure and our plumber's arrival. These are the folks to call when you have a disaster! Ours was a burst hot water pipe, and the week before Christmas, no less! Mercifully, a plumber was out to repair the actual pipe in just a couple of hours, then he connected us with ARC to take care of the resultant water damage caused by the burst pipe leaking and spraying water everywhere! First, Nina was both calming and professional, and got a team right out to assess the damage, and begin the mitigation by setting up fans and taking out the soggy, damaged (no longer) drywall, etc. They also did a check for mold, which can form swiftly when the damage is from hot water, and tested for asbestos, which thankfully was not an issue! As soon as they had those results they were able to do a more complete clean-up and removal of damaged material, and make sure the fans dried everything out. By Christmas eve they had everything sorted! Nina and the crew were on top of things, worked with our schedule, and did all the follow-ups to make certain that everything was dry and ready for the rebuilding process. Nina also explained the insurance procedures to me, which was a great help and relieved some of my stress regarding that aspect of the process. I definitely recommend ARC for anyone who has to deal with this kind of sudden and overwhelming damage to their home! read more

BEWARE-ARC has very nice employees who are very good at telling you what you want to hear, but do not follow through on what they tell you! Their lies cost us both money, time and plenty of frustration!!! Joe, the project manager came out the day after I called ARC after a valve failed and flooded our bathroom. He told us not to worry about anything, his crew would come the following day and Nina, their insurance expert would handle all of our insurance needs because "insurances are good at tripping homeowners up with their questioning" He also said that every step would be photographed, but important photos the insurance asked for were never taken, so please take your own photos no matter who you do business with. Joe also explained that insurance did not pay for mold, but that would be minimal in our case ranging from $300-$600 out of pocket expense, which we agreed to paying. He also explained that they would be as careful as possible, but damage may occur and our insurance would pay for any and all damage ARC did when deconstructing our bathroom. (NOT TRUE!!!) The crew did arrive on time as expected the next day. Joe stayed part of the time as he said he would and the other two would complete the job after he left. Once he left, one of the guys left for almost 2 hours to get lunch. Since we literally have a great selection of various restaurants, deli and fast food 1 block from our house, I'm not sure what took him so long, but left RJ to do the bulk of the work on his own which took the entire day. After he returned, he took multiple breaks, leaving RJ, a new employee to do the bulk of the work. The crew explained that there were a lot of staples in our subfloor that was difficult to remove and the reason it was taking so long. They were using a manual staple remover tool and pliers. Afterwards, I used my inexpensive ($40) electric oscillating tool with a metal cutting saw attachment and cut through those staples quickly. What took them an entire day, took me 30 minutes to remove, so please be aware if using their services!!! They billed us over $4K. By the time they finished, I was running late for an appointment, so I quickly signed the invoices before reading through them-my mistake because they not only charged the bulk of the work to mold, but billed separately for their time and mileage also, which I later learned is not appropriate billing from our insurance company. When I called Nina to give our insurance info, she instructed that I call the insurance and call her back with the claim number. That was her insurance expertise that Joe gushed about. When our insurance adjuster came, she questioned everything they did. I initially thought she was trying to get out of paying our claim and even called Nina @ ARC to warn them. But instead I learned later about the incorrect billing procedures ARC had billed us for and how ARC had billed to put the majority of the damage being mold, on us and not damages that the insurance would pay. Our adjuster called Nina several times to adjust the billing correctly. Nina did some, but never followed through and did her best to avoid both our adjuster and my calls. In the end, Nina promised me to make it right, but never did. If this happens to you, you will have to unblock your number to get ahold of her because she will screen and ignore your calls. As far as the insurance covering all the damage that ARC did in the process that Joe previously told us? Not true at all. The adjuster said the shower pan appeared to be deliberately damaged with a sledge hammer and that ARC was responsible for the damages. Since they padded their work with manual tools, billed more out of pocket expenses than insurance coverage, ignored our calls and didn't follow through on fixing their billing as Nina promised, I figure the chance of them covering the damage they did was not worth further stress on my part because they are liars. Overall, I give one star for RJ, who was left with doing most of the work on his own with inadequate tools. I would have given another star for being quick and on time, but realize now that's part of their process of false pretenses in making me believe they are on my side in helping me through this process. I gave ARC many months to make this right before writing this negative review. I would have never written this if they had corrected their mistakes as promised, but feel I should warn others what to expect from them. Don't be fooled by their initially niceties, because in the end it will cost you much money time delay and frustration. If it wasn't for our wonderful insurance adjuster, who was right to the point on ARC's billing inaccuracies, I wouldn't have know what scam artists they are. When your dealing with major damage to your home, it's easy to fall to one who is comforting and informative. It's only afterwards that you'll know they have become very skillful at deceiving customers! BE AWARE!!! read more

After they evaluated the situation they came out the next day to pump out the lake that had accumulated under the crawl space. I can not express how prompt, professional, and courteous the team was. Our washer has been leaking on and off for a year or so and the water had caused some damage to the surrounding wall. Nina was responsive and courteous and helped us set an appointment very quickly. Sam showed up early for both the inspection and the actual work. He was more thorough and attentive than the other water damage technicians that came before him, and he gave us the most affordable quote with detailed plan right on the spot. When Sam and Joe showed up for the actual repair, they went above and beyond. They found some termites in the walls and removed them for us. They also suggested hiring a plumber to look at the drain pipes because it resembled a clog. We also followed their advice and got termites repellent for the walls to prevent future invasion. ARC was courteous, responsive and thorough. They were recommended by my plumber. They coordinated with the plumber to get the job done fast. We had leaky pipes under the house that had left standing water and mold in the crawl space. They removed all the water and contaminated dirt, disinfected the space, and laid heavy duty plastic for the plumber to work. I hope I never have to use this service again, but if I do I will call ARC first! read more

Our backyard flooded, resulting in the first floor of our house flooding, a few days before Christmas. ARC answered the phone when I called and was able to send someone out within a couple of hours. They pulled off the baseboards, hauled out the stuff that was beyond repair, and set up industrial fans to dry out our space, which they returned for a few days later. It was expensive, but I expected that, and I would rather pay more to ensure we don't have rot in our walls. The only thing I would have loved to have been offered was some follow-up: suggestions on repair, how to confirm all the moisture was gone, etc. read more

We heard the sound of water where we didn't think we should be hearing it... in a wall! Called a plumber who looked under the house and would not go there until it was cleaned up! It was water flooded, of course, but also showed signs of rodent action, etc. We called ARC for clean-up services. Their estimator, Ben, showed up promptly on time the next morning. He checked out the situation, gave us an estimate and scheduled a crew of two men to be here the very next day to clean it up and dry it out. Just as Ben had, the crew was here right on time and worked for most of the day doing the work. They left two large dryers behind to finish getting rid of the moisture. When they came back the next day to collect them and present us with the bill, it actually came out nearly 15% less than Ben's estimate. Two appointments kept on time and a final price below the estimate. We have come to not expect such things. Moreover, when the plumber came to repair the cause of the damage that ARC had cleaned up, he remarked on what a nice job they had done. As a bonus, their general manager, Nina, reminded me that some or all of their clean-up charges might be reimbursable through our home insurance policy. She even offered to initiate the contact with our company for us - which she did! Prompt, professional and helpful people at a fair price. This review is a year old, I forgot to post this. The general manager Nina Lauffer was amazing. The workers from ARC were very friendly and informative about the process. We deserved them chai as well! (Chilly day). We had to repair some water damage that was done by the rain over the years. And they helped to remove the bad area well. Even though we had to reschedule a few times because the tenant we had was a nuisance. Nina and her workers were very helpful to schedule timings according to our time because of the tenant. And thank you to Nina to prepare a document of the findings that were there. read more

We were getting some emergency plumbing work done when this particular plumber we went with flooded our condo and we were in desperate need of a water remediation company. Our usual plumber was booked 2 weeks out, which is why we couldn't have him do the emergency plumbing work, but he provided us with ARC's name to have them evaluate. As it was already late in the day and we were totally lost on the whole process, ARC was still able to come out around 7:30pm, and managed to assess and helped remediate some of the situation, puncturing a hole in our first floor ceiling to let out all the sitting water where our ceiling was visibly sagging. Although ARC seemed booked solid, and also based out of the East Bay, Joe and Jesse managed to come back late again the next day and worked tirelessly to get the walls and ceilings properly situated and dried out. Nina the GM was also a great resource for us for any questions we had. The whole process was painless and they were friendly and knowledgeable. I hope we don't need to call ARC again, but they'll be on our list should we need any other water remediation. read more

We recently discovered a sewer leak under our house. We had three companies come out and give us an assessment and estimate. The first, was for $12,000, they said it was toilets (black water)and it would take 5 days. The second, was for $7,000, they said it was toilets and it would take 3 days. The ARC tech was able to crawl under the house, to the leak, and determine that it was not toilets, but our kitchen line(brown water). It would take a few hours and cost less than $2,000. They were able to come the next day and take care of the problem. They were professional, quick, and even left tarps in place under the house for the plumber who was coming the next day. We will defiantly call them again if we ever have a problem. Top notch customer service and honest. read more
