an orange drink with whipped cream

Went through the drive through on a Friday during lunchtime. I haven't had Arby's in forever, I remember their roast beef sandwiches was something to brag about. So I ordered two large roast beef sandwiches, a large fries and a new orange cream milkshake. The lady asked if I wanted lettuce and tomato, I said sure, if I wanted to try apple and cherry turnovers, I said sure. $35 later I see that they charged me for lettuce and tomato, .70 each topping!! $6 shake...wow! When I ate it, the roast beef was undercooked, lacked any flavor other than it being salty. Who would have thought I'd spend $35 for lunch at Arby's? Never again.

In case you haven't watched a lot of television recently, Arby's would like the world to know that they, in fact, have the meats. I'm not sure what they had prior to this, but I'm glad they worked out those internal issues. Jokes aside, Arby's isn't half bad, for a fast food joint that is, especially when discussing the Hicksville location. No, I'm not referring to the Broadway Mall food court (that might be a little too much reviewing if I was). The Arby's I'm writing about is right off of the parkways near Broadway Commons, situated as its own standalone spot complete with drive-through and seating. Those seats, hell the whole interior, is something out of a contemporary quick serve restaurant. I was actually somewhat impressed with their set up between the high top counters, booth seating, and fireplace section. It was actually kind of cozy in there and surpasses the attempts of other fast food counterparts like McDonalds and Wendy's in trying to be more comfortably "hip." That being said, my buddy (who I dined with here a few Fridays ago) accurately made the statement that roast beef isn't something the youth are frequently flocking to consume. Arby's combats this with a menu of (you guessed it) meats beyond that of the roast beef variety. With chicken, turkey, and even lamb (gyro!), there's a formidable selection of sandwiches, and the like, for selecting. My selections were actually non-roast beef (not a fan, but I honestly have to give it another try) and fell into the location of lamb as well as the meat of the sea, fish! That's right, Arby's also has a fish sandwich, and currently they're running a cajun version of their normal handheld. It sounded good to me, as did a side of jalapeño bites. Unfortunately, only two out of my three items were memorable. That lamb gyro was definitely tasty, with decent pieces of gyro meat in a large pita with lettuce, tomato, onion, and tzatziki sauce. Those jalapeño bites were just what the spice doctor ordered and with a side of their Bronco berry sauce, it made for a unique sweet-heat combo. The loser was that fish dish. Not that I expect much out of anything sea-based from a place like Arby's, but this filet didn't hold any substantial flavor, and the cajun remoulade sauce didn't do much to help. Even so, I would still sum up the meal as a positive (like the song says, two out of three ain't bad). Overall, this Arby's spot has it going on in contemporary style and flare (which is saying a lot when we're talking about fast food) and rocks it from most meaty standpoints. Yeah, that fish sandwich was a bummer, but the rest of my items were totally tasty, and I honestly don't want to knock things down to three stars when I didn't even dine on what Arby's is known for (roast beef!). Consider this a quality Arby's spot to visit and one I need to return to soon so I can fulfill what we're continuously reminded about: If you're looking for meats, Arby's has the them.

Happy hour lured me back! Everyday, including weekends, from 2-5 pm they have dollar small shakes, fries, sliders and cookies. They also have dollar floats for the Summer. The cookies are huge and come in great flavors like salted caramel or triple chocolate. They now have a ghiradelli chocolate shake as well which beats the original jamocha on flavor. The food is hot and fresh during this time on weekends and it is busy.

    Dave's Hot Chicken

    Dave's Hot Chicken

Dave's Hot Chicken is a social media sensation chicken spot featuring tenders, fries, pickles and…read moreshakes. Prices are high for fast food but portions are huge and quality is worth it! After PDQ in Farmingdale closed, we were looking for another place with extraordinary chicken tenders on Long Island. My son saw Dave's Hot Chicken on social media. I love the story of how it started out of a garage in Hollywood and has now expanded across the U.S. I love a good entrepreneur success story. On this rainy December day after Christmas we were heading to Roosevelt Field Mall and decided to detour to Dave's. The parking lot was crazy and the place was pretty crowded but we managed to find a table quickly. The staff was nice and friendly. The decor was interesting .. hip without trying too hard. The big "Strong Island" sign emphasized local ties even though the chain started in LA. We first balked at the prices. But then we saw the serving sizes!! First, the chicken "tenders" are the size of chicken cutlets. The meals look expensive ($12 for 1 tender, pickles and fries) but a single tender is a full meal for most people! It's served on a slice of white bread, which is probably the only aspect of the entire meal that's not impressive! We ordered the large loaded fries ($17), a tender meal ($12) and 2 single tenders ($5+ each.) Again, keep in mind the tenders are huge. I'd rather have a single tender than two McDonald's snack wraps. So now, what you're probably wondering: How did it taste? Amazing!!! We got mild and no spice. The mild was just spicy enough but even the plain tenders were excellent -- crispy and clearly made with high quality, juicy chicken. The fries came fully loaded with Kale slaw, cheese, pickles, sauce, and 10 chicken bites plus Dave's sauce. The fries stayed crispy and delicious. I'm not a big fry person but these were fantastic. If you're in the area, definitely splurge on this fast food experience. I just hope they open a few closer to western Suffolk.

Fun atmosphere inside and out…read more I came here for some take out and the two guys at the register were super helpful as it was my first time. The menu was a little confusing at first. I ordered three varieties of nuggets: original, medium, and reaper. The reaper seasoning requires the recipient to sign a waiver in the event that the "heat" causes damage. The place looked pretty clean and well maintained overall. The kitchen was visible from the ordering station and the supervisors and packers were super attentive to who was waiting for their order and when it would be ready. They also had a separate huge screen with people's delivery orders organized by provider like Uber Eats, GrubHub, etc. The nuggets kept warm in their containers until I reached home. My s.o. and I tried them all and everything was perfect. The reaper was fire but also extremely hot, similar to when we tried the spiciest chicken sandwich challenge, but not nearly as bad, in a good way. The original is bomb. No flames just simple breaded chicken. And the medium was like a little kick of spicy. We enjoyed all of them. One star removed for cold french fries that came with the orders. It tasted like they were cold and waiting for someone to place the order so they could be served. Happy eats !

Do you know how much you had to screw up in order for someone to create a yelp account just to…read moreleave a bad review on this location. I already posted this on Google and I sent an email to corporate about my experience, here I am sharing the experience I had was. Unfortunately I did not have a pleasant experience picking up my order. It was honestly really weird and so unprofessional it was not a good experience to deal with the only employee at the store apparently? Her name was "Jennifer" I'm not sure if thats her real name because when I asked for her name 2 times, she ignored me the 1st time then quietly said the name Jennifer when I asked again. The employee in question was an older woman employee. It all started when I walked into the store to go pick up my order, there was a woman, in what looked like traditional Indian clothes, long pink skirt and flowy white and black cardigan, who was sitting and laying down on the floor. This woman kept laying down, kneeling up then laying back down for a few minutes while I'm saying hello and asking if she is okay, because honestly again, this was just weird to walk into. This woman ignored me asking if she was okay for about 5 mins then she takes off the skirt and cardigan and walks up to the counter and I see she is an employee. I tell her I'm here to pick up my mobile order, she hands it to me, but I see that my order is wrong. I ordered 2 footlongs and I was given 1 footlong and a 6 inch sub, I tell this to the employee and she states no thats my order I tell her sternly no I ordered 2 footlongs look at my receipt. She does, and when she sees my order was wrong then she goes to make another 6 inch sub for me with a very sheepish attitude as if it was just a little mistake. I wait for the rest of my order and as she finishes wrapping the sub, I noticed she didn't put the Parmesan cheese on the sub (I got the boss footlong) and I ask if she could put some on the side for me please. She informs me that there are no little cups so she can't, I ask her if she could just sprinkle some into the small paper cookie bags. Then she places a paper cookie bag flat on the counter and begins shaking the cheese on top of the bag, she does this for like 5 seconds then she looks at me in my face and asks me if this is okay. At this point I'm very fed up with this employee, I tell her that common sense would tell her to put the cheese inside of the cookie bag, because how would she package the cheese if its on top of the bag? She then laughs nervously and she defends it with some half muttered response honestly I didn't care to listen to because I knew it was nonsense. After all of this, I knew I was going to report my experience and I wanted to name her properly, I asked for her name and she ignored me the 1st time. I asked again a bit more firm what her name is and she quietly said Jennifer. I've gotten plenty of orders from this location before but never have I experienced anything like this, I Unfortunately will certainly remember this when thinking about what to order for lunch at work again and thanks to "Jennifer", I guess I can consider the Jersey Mikes in Hicksville to be my new go to sandwich spot.
