Paid almost 9 dollars for an 8 inch BLT sub that literally had one strip of bacon on the sandwich and they forgot the mayonnaise

Locals were strolling in for sandwiches and salads. Highly recommend going with the delicious Portuguese styled bread either on the side or sandwiches. Below are some of the Smartwich team which includes also includes a nephew and and uncle / founder.. This is a family business with the founder is a brother of one of the top local Italian bakeries in Nassau. The bakery also provided the start up space originally in Hicksville during the incubator phase. It makes perfect sense when you have a delicious warm crispy Portuguese roll for the sandwiches. This talented brother had many years in the food industry in Portugal and is a fan of their crispy styled bread/rolls. They are now made right here. Sandwiches are nicely made, fresh, flavorful and a step above the generic sandwich places. Elevated flavors and dressed with a nice vinaigrette. Lots of choices. We started with the popular and will venture out to the more creative. Sardines and octopus looked good but can wait until another day.

The inside is very millennial style with the grey and black ambiance. It's pretty open spatially and there's a menu on the wall. They make their own brewed iced tea. Their sandwiches are pretty clear in description. I dislike that the chicken sandwich pastrami sauce has pork in it, so anyone who avoids pig products like the plague needs to inform them when making the order. The sandwich itself was pretty good. The bread didn't cause my lips to flare up like other yeasts do. They didn't go heavy on the balsamic vinaigrette. The workers came out to greet me and give me a tour even though it's pretty self explanatory. After the drinks refrigerator and sandwiches menu, there are three additional menus for sides, fruit/veggie smoothies and protein smoothies. I ordered a chocolate protein smoothie and the cups they have are larger than the portions they serve. They apologized like it was an inconvenience to me, but actually I was happy that I didn't have to worry about any overflow or spillage. I think it's great that it's a tad bigger. I also bought a pan de nata to try. They forgot to add the cinnamon, but it didn't need it. It was done to perfection. Bakers of All Nations in Mineola now has some good competition. On the walls surrounding the smoothie bar and dining area there's a mural that explains the type of cuisine you're getting and about the chef's travels. It's kind of neat. Happy eats!

I decided to order an omelette today with feta cheese, onions, tomatoes, mushrooms, and spinach. Oh…read moreboy, this was such a delicious and flavorful omelette--and a huge one, too!!!! It kept me very full for hours, yet I still felt light. I paired it with an iced coffee and left feeling very happy with this location.

The Godzilla (crispy pork, cabbage/carrot slaw, with tonkatsu sauce) was packed with thin slices of perfectly fried pork. The tonkotsu sauce was slightly sweet and tangy, and the carrot and cabbage slaw was very complementary to the plethora of pork. The only change I would make next time is perhaps adding some onions (personal preference) and ask for some extra sauce. The Crispy Cuban was also fantastic spin to the classic. Again, packed with crispy pork, the sandwich was then filled with the perfect amount of ham, melty Swiss, and mustard. Nothing felt heavy. I wish I had seen the list of sides before we ordered. The homemade tater tots look amazing. Before we left, my boyfriend and I grabbed a menu and have decided to check off each one we order every week go. You can bet we will be returning soon!

The chicken is crispy on the outside with good flavor, and you can actually taste the seasoning. I went with a medium heat level and it had a nice kick without completely destroying my taste buds. Perfect for what I was craving. I ordered the Hot Chicken Tenders with Fries, Mango Habanero Wings, and Garlic Parmesan Wings at Slappin Chick and overall had a really good meal. The Hot Chicken Tenders were crispy, juicy, and packed solid flavor with a nice heat level that built up without being overwhelming. The fries were decent and worked well as a side. This was the highlight of the night! Highly recommended. The wings were ok but i felt like it was more bones and skin than actual meat. These must have been some really small chickens. Their signature Slappin sauce is addictive (I ended up putting it on everything). Give it a try. Dont skip out. Solid spot. Would recommend it if you're in the mood for hot crispy chicken.

The flavors are good but it didn't have the spice it advertised. The Mac and cheese is most likely kraft mac and cheese, which is wild for them to charge $5 for a small cup of it. The restaurant was empty, on a Saturday at 1pm, like empty, nobody taking out and nobody dining in.
