In the midst of new announcements of COVID-19 and the need to quarantine in March, this team shows up outside for our neighbors with proper gear and little notice on a Sunday to take down a huge tree that had rotted from the inside and was swaying dangerously in the high winds toward our house, their house and parked cars. My experience with Leo and the team at Arbor Green was excellent. Our condo association was planning the removal of a giant mulberry tree for almost 2 years. We received many bids on the job, but Arbor Greens was the best. They were prompt in scheduling the removal and courteous to our neighbors and tenants with their machinery. I would give five+ stars if it were possible. My mother-in-law had two really big trees in her backyard that had to be removed. These trees were precariously located between her home and the neighbor's, one tree was dead and had already started to lean over the neighbor's deck. I got six quotes to cut the trees down to stump level and remove them. Leo beat the most expensive quote by more than a $1000. Throughout the whole process Leo and his crew were responsive, courteous and extremely professional. It would have been very easy for any of the branches to have damaged either one of the homes or a deck, but each one was brought down with precision. I have had 5 backyard pine trees in Glenview in a row for over 30 years (one we planted). This year three seemed to be dying...brown branches except for green near the top. This company listed an arborist but the gentleman who came to examine the trees said they were dead because of growing too closely (actually their widest branches did not even touch one another) and they needed to be cut. I asked if it could not be due to beetles or fungus and he said, "no." Because I said I wanted an arborist's opinion, he called his company and related that the "specialist" said it was a fungus because that's what's in the area and recommended putting fertilizer. He then half-heartedly tried to show me the fungus problem on the bark, but he couldn't. Sorry, but this gentleman didn't know what he was doing. A large tree branch fell across my fence during an ice storm. They came quickly after I called them, gave a reasonable quote to remove the tree to which I agreed. They came within 30 minutes, cleared away the tree branch and other debris and even repaired the fence. read more

Arborgreen did a great job removing a large, unstable, and dying oak tree that was threatening our house, as well as our neighbor's. As others have said, Leo the owner was a pleasure to work with. He and his guys showed up on time, and worked efficiently through the job. They all wear Arborgreen branded gear, which shows they take pride in the company they work for. I'm sorry, I'm quite late with this review! In May my husband and I hired Leo and team to remove our neighbor's large tree. It was not healthy, and parts of it had fallen, first 7 years ago (damaging our roof) and again last year (damaging their own cars in their driveway). Leo must have been in the area or had some free time because we received a detailed, written estimate before we ever even spoke with him! He was patient with us and with our neighbors while they figured out how to remove some things that were in the way. Once the obstacles were removed Leo's team was right out there. They started early and worked as quickly I suppose as possible (weather was threatening) but also very carefully. I saw them do thorough maintenance and preparation of their equipment before they began. They appeared to work well together as a team and to really plan each step for safety and efficiency (to my untrained eye). It was really quite an operation to watch! This company is not reliable!!! I called on Monday to set up an appointment to have an estimate to have some tree stumps removed. I told them it was something I needed done ASAP. Lilly scheduled me for the next day to have someone come out at 1pm. I rushed home to make sure I was there on time and at 1:20 called and left a message asking where the gentleman was for the estimate. She called me back and said he was running late and could come at 2:30. I said I am sorry that will not work I have to pick up my son from school. She said I can put you on for tomorrow (wednesday) at 11:15am. I said perfect. I sat around waiting until 11:40 and called. Lilly called the gentleman and called me back and said he is running late it would be another hour or so. I am sorry this is 2 days now that I have wasted waiting for someone and both times I had to call to find out where he was! read more

After all the positive reviews I thought my experience would be different. Called up last week and scheduled to have someone come out and give me an estimate. Someone came the next day and we agreed on a price and scheduled the removal for the following Wednesday. Nobody showed up. Eventually got a hold of Leo and was told that in order for the appointment to be held I had needed to respond to the email that was sent. Huh? Why is that necessary? Even so, in your own email you state "*Please confirm reception of proposal or office will call to confirm." Well, nobody called to confirm. So they want to reschedule for next week. Sorry, too little, too late. I'll find someone else. Best part of the story. On the phone Leo complained that he was having a good day until he spoke to me. Really? We had 2 trees that were over 100 years old removed. They both were close to our house and one was sick...Leo was very professional and his team worked for over 2 days while skillfully removing them and grinding the stumps. All of our neighbors commented on how courteous they were. They also trimmed 3 other trees on our property and left our yard clean! We had to reschedule due to a snow storm and they were proactive in doing so. We also had a Nicor team working on our block at the same time and they worked well with Nicor in scheduling. They were substantially less than another tree company and VERY professional. All in all I would use them again in a heart beat...in fact I hope to have them out this summer to hang a tree swing! After getting 3 quotes, Arborgreen was by far the best price - and we were especially pleased with their recommendation to SAVE TREES, not remove them. We have several very mature Maples that were a hazard to our home; the recent storms, earlier this month, caused damage and we were ready to remove them to avoid it happening again. I required immediate service to bring down a towering, unstable blue spruce in my backyard. The high wind gusts with water-saturated soil made it imperative that the swaying tree be felled as soon as possible. At the recommendation of my landscaper, I called Arborgreen, and Leo came to my house several hours later. He promised to send his crew shortly, and they arrived within an hour. The danger was quickly mitigated by the expert action of two of his employees, as the tree was brought down without any complications. I had them remove another evergreen tree at the same time. They cleaned up after completion. I was quite pleased with my experience, and I expect to have Arborgreen do some additional tree-trimming in a few weeks. read more

We contacted Arborgreen Tree Service for an estimate on a Monday. Leo came out the same day and told me what parts of the tree should be taken down. He really knows his trees and when I realized that, I asked him to help me landscape my yard with a tree and bush. He takes care of buying and installing trees and bushes as well as tree removal. His estimates were exact and by far less than any other. The work was done by a polite crew by the end of the week. Everything was cleaned up and left spotless. As others have noted, Arborgreen just does exactly what you want them to do, they respond promptly to phone calls, make appointments right away (mine, the same evening as I called, although they would have come and looked at tree even if I wasn't home), and came out within a few days to remove the tree while I was at work. There is literally no sign that the tree was there -- the clean up was terrific, everything that might have been broken was moved, and every trace of tree is gone (this was a 25 foot tall diseased ash). A neighbor was having a tree pruned and we spoke to Leo about our two trees. He quickly gave us a reasonable quote Saturday and scheduled for service the next day, Sunday. His crew of 5 came at about 11 am and the job was complete by 5 pm. They pruned a mature silver maple tree next to the back of our house and removed a mature ash tree next to our garage and electrical wires that was diseased by emerald ash borers. The tree removal was done very professionally and the clean up was also very thorough. Everyone was polite and a couple of neighbors asked for his information too because they were also pleased by what they saw. They also went above and beyond by moving logs for us to the back of our garage and recommended future trimmings every 2-3 years. read more
