Duck with truffles and Jerusalem artichoke

I rarely give a restaurant five stars, but if possible I would give this place six stars. All of the 14 non dessert courses were unique and tasty. We will definitely come back here next time we visit Buenos Aires. The wine was excellent and the desserts were pretty good too. Was super excited to take a break from all the steak, empanadas and pizza in BsAs and was so glad to do it with this meal! This restaurant has an intimate feel to it and was perfect for date night. Every dish in the tasting menu was a delight to the senses-- beautifully prepared, with a variety of flavors and techniques usedl! Our favorites of the nignt were the pork with passionfruit sauce and the charred octopus with morel risotto. We got the wine pairing as well, normally I don't think much of wine pairings but this pairing seemed especially complementary of the meal. After dinner we moved to the salon upstairs for dessert, which was equally fun and flavorful. There are three seatings every evening at Aramburu, each one lasting two hours. Didn't feel rushed at all during the meal. Aramburu is the first (and currently only) in the country to be awarded two Michelin stars since Michelin debuted in Argentina in November 2023. Note older reviews will state the tasting price as ~100USD or lower with the blue dollar rate but the pricing has increased since the restaurant got its Michelin stars. As of Feb 2024 pricing was ~200USD for the tasting menu and ~80USD for the wine pairing, while it's certainly pricy by Argentina standards, I thought the meal was absolutely worth it!

"Like a symphony of flavors in my mouth" - the most accurate description that was said during my dining experience at Aramburu. Every course surprised me with its innovation and everything was delicious. Reservations were not difficult to get, we booked about 3 days in advance. However, the dining room was full so I do not recommend reserving last minute. There are two seatings 19:00 and 21:30. The main meal will take about 2 hours then you are moved upstairs for desserts. In total we spent 3 hours in the restaurant. I loved everything we ate and I appreciate the last minute dietary accommodations they made for us. My favorites were the fried bread stuffed with mushrooms, the quinoa "sunflowers", the tartare on a leaf, the Patagonian langoustine on a sizzling rock, the oyster with a sheet of seaweed ice, and the "fake avocado" dessert. All my photos are attached to this review. There was not one mediocre dish. However, I did find a shell in my centolla roll. Also, I thought the service was pretty good but not AMAZING like Michelin star places I've been to. The servers were attentive but I wish they described each dish a bit more. I will give them props though for being able to explain in English. As for ambiance, the building itself is quite old. It is modern but it is small and I dislike that they put us in the wine room for desserts. It was chilly in there and servers coming in to find wines disrupted our meal. I can't complain too much because this is probably one of the best valued fine dining experiences in the world, because of Argentina's inflation issues. My meal was ~$100 per person using the Blue dollar exchange rate and an Argentinian credit card. This same meal would be around $400-500 back home in California.

Wow! This spot is hidden in a beautiful alley. You have to ring a bell to get in. The 18 courses will set you back about $100-$150US pp and way more if you add wine pairing or have alcohol. We got the hidden table by the kitchen. You get to watch all the action. We fell in love with the proteins. The venison tar tar left me in tears. The duck was out of this world. Sea Bass was lovely, but just OK. The many small bites and starters were stunning in presentation, but lacked at times in flavor. The oyster was beautifully served, but the yogurt mixture it was in was overwhelming. I felt similarly about King Crab. I believe it was dill that overpowered the crab. I like tasting the ocean and the brine in my oysters. The sashimi was very colorful, but it was almost too much of color and very little of the fish essence. Again - I like tasting the true flavor of what I eat. The desserts were lovely and the candy in end blew our socks off. I strongly recommend this place to everyone. I'd go back in a heartbeat. It's possible that we are spoiled as we've dined in the best spots in BA in the last few weeks and a bunch of Michelin restaurants in the last year. Ambiance, friendliness, attention to detail, and service are magnificent. Quick note: I ordered a glass of wine and it was the smallest pour I've ever received. For the desserts we were taken to another room upstairs and that was a lovely surprise. The only reason I am skipping a star is because few of the courses as I mentioned lacked the umami or general burst of flavor. We were "wowed" by about 5-7 courses out of 18. Thank you for remembering my birthday and giving us a copy of the menu. Such fun and elegant touches.

Had a very lovely meal at Aramburu! To start the service was impeccable. All of the staff were very attentive and were incredibly knowledgeable on the food being served. The wine paring was an absolute must for this restaurant. All of the wines were thoughtfully curated and went perfectly with each meal. Getting into the dishes they were amazing to say the least. The passion fruit pork dish was my absolute favorite of the night with the beet and goat cheese tart being a close second. I did not try the sweetbreeds but heard they were good as well. The grapefruit pallet cleanser was incredibly bitter but served its purpose. The pink peppercorn ice cream and avocado dessert were an interesting and fun touch. The ambiance of the restaurant is super dark and the dessert room is upstairs (a steep set of stairs) so keep that in mind if you have mobility issues. Overall a great experience although pricey. The pricing worked out to about $280 per person with the wine paring.

Placing my preconceived ideas of what a city with one of the top ten worst economies in the world must be like I was pleasantly surprised to say the least.  Tucked away in a chic and upscale  small side street that is over 100 years old lies a true hidden gem, not of Buenos Aires but the world.  For those searching the world for that experience this must be on your not to miss destination.  They create a uplifting experience for your soul while providing that unique experience for your palet.  While providing an unparalleled line up of  the freshest ingredients from the region to create a unique and amazing treat for your senses. At the same time they are pouring an unmatched selection of domestic wine that has no comparison, anywhere. We look forward to coming back with friends!!!

Sad to say this but this is the worst fine dining experience I've had in my life. If you are huge foodies like me who has eaten good food all over the food, travels to Buenos Aires for the first time and wants to taste the best Argentina has to offer, and is considering Aramburu because it seems to be one of the best rated fine dining institutions - stop right there, because Aramburu won't fit the bill. Very far from it. For many dishes here, the style is bigger than substance, a few dishes taste rather bland or downright weird, pacing and service are quite inconsistent, and you leave hungry despite having 18 courses. Your time and money are much better spent at more mid-tier but well-rated places such as La Carniceria (best steak ever), El Preferido de Palermo (best milanesa and fries), or less pricy tasting menu restaurants like Julia Restaurante. My husband and I like to eat. When we travel, we like to go to the best acclaimed and popular places, whether it's hole-in-a-wall or 3-Michelin starred restaurants. Before coming here, I was a bit worried that this place is going to put more emphasis on style rather than substance because the food just looks too elaborate from the pictures, and unfortunately my fears became true after the very first course. It was a bunch of crackers in a very elaborate flower shape hanging off of a beautiful tree structure. It was stunning to look at, but the crackers tasted super average. Out of 18 courses, we really liked 4 courses - octopus, king crab, scallop and shrimp. The king crab and scallop especially were super innovative and flavorful, and the wine pairing was genius. 4 courses were good but nothing to write home about (such as tomatoes, quail, and oyster). The rest of the 10 courses though were kind of bad, which included the main dish duck and 4 desserts. The duck was just not cooked well. It is rather raw and tasted a bit too gamey. The 4 desserts were all bad, which honestly was kind of unforgivable - how can you mess up desserts so badly, especially after 4 tries? One of the desserts had avocado, white chocolate and mango flavors; while the combo sounds interesting, in reality it just didn't work. In the end, we left feeling a little hungry. Despite having 18 courses, the portion of each course was tiny. Wine pairing for the most part was good, and especially for USD $23 it's a steal. That's why I'm giving this experience a 2 star rather than 1. Service was inconsistent. At first it was very attentive, but they moved us to the upstairs area for desserts, and that's when the service got slow and they kind of just forgot about you. Overall, I would recommend you stay away from this restaurant. Even though the experience cost only $120 per person including wine pairing using the blue market exchange rate, which is a steal compared to tasting menus elsewhere, the opportunity cost is high. You can get much better food in cheaper places in BsAs.

I was looking for a special dining experience and made a reservation to have dinner here one night. Website indicated that it was 38,000 for dinner and if add wine pairing 45,000. My husband and I chose the wine pairing and it was a fantastic choice. I think we tried about 7 different types of wine. We enjoyed that. Food was amazing. My husband and I have been to 3 Michelin star restaurants including the French Laundry and Manresa. I am a foodie and love fine dining. I loved it and will definitely come back when we visit again. Only negatives: I did indicate that this was our wedding anniversary dinner, there was no special note, roses, etc. No staff member said anything. When we sat down, we were asked about our dietary restrictions even though I listed it when we booked. 5 star restaurants would pay more attention to the detail. They also made a drink for my son which was offered by them. It was 2,500 which is not a big deal but the fact that the wait staff suggested, I don't think we should pay for that. When fine dining, my son has gotten a drink or a special appetizer offered by the restaurant and was never charged. But of course we would leave a generous tip for making his experience amazing too. I would have also wanted what we ate printed and give us as a take home document. Maybe with an autograph from the chef. But overall, it was a great experience.

butternut squash cannoli with fish eggs sounded gross but was warm, filling and delicious

When we first walked in, I instantly thought of the movie "The Menu", a comedy/satire horror in which wealthy elite's fine dining experience turns sour when it's revealed the eccentric chef has dark plans for the guests' dining experience. Aramburu shares many similarities with the fictitious restaraunt from "The Menu"--mainly the ambience and absolutely fantastic food. And--nobody dies, which makes it even better!! Aramburu was the highlight of the week I spent in Buenos Aires, all nineteen courses were interesting and unique. While I did not love everything, the majority of the dishes were fantastic and both my mother and I found ourselves marveling at the craftsmanship behind the work. Our favorite dishes were the octopus, duck and butternut squash savory cannoli. I recommend not looking at too many photos of the food and allowing yourself to be surprised by what they bring out. The servers were kind and helpful, the presentation was creative and beautiful, and the food was divine. Worth every penny. 10/10, def recommend.

What an amazing experience. Had lunch with my girls and was so lovely. 17 courses... one tailored for a vegetarian. Super good. Everything was so fresh!! My favorite was the mushroom soup and my least favorite was the sashimi. Arrive is amazing and the ambiance is very relaxed and calm. Each plate is described really well and the flavors all seem to play well course to course.

WOW....OMG... I've dined at thousands of restaurants around the world and this hands down was the most fabulous meal I've ever experienced. It's an 18 course meal served over 3 hours. The presentation and service was flawless! The range of flavors and taste were spectacular!

Yes YEs YES YEEEEEEEES! Staff behind glass working in synchronized motion, always beautiful to see carefully crafted things you are about to eat being shaped by multiple individuals... 17 course menu 4800 ars roughly $87usd Glass of wine 460 ars roughly $8 usd Including Wine per person $110 (excludes tip) Warning... this place has developed dishes that will speak to your taste buds like when Viktor is summoned by Celine in Underworld! Beet medallions sitting on cashew cream topped w tart radish petals...I can't explain it...why can I make beets like these? The flavor profile combo is Bingo! Cucumber and artichoke?! gazpacho-ish that had a hint of ginger ?! Served in a stone enclosed vessel that looked like an indigenous whistling tool, loved everything about this dish! Gorgeous. You want to take the vessel and burn some palo santo. So many beautifully composed dishes. Each dish is an elegant piece of art that you butcher as it enters your mouth and then you hit all nirvanas. They really hone down on this crunchy super thin fruit leather. There was a black carrot crispy fruit leather that was the tube form for the cannoli. Excellent! And such color contrast. So beautiful. The faux bone porcelain vessel that held the carrot tartar topped w crispy puffed quinoa was beautiful and delicious. (Everything was spectacular) The black bao bun tempura filled w goat was something I would put next to the snow buns from Xu's public house. Just because they are both phenomenal and would contrast in color. The seabream ceviche I could eat everyone's plate. (I truly wanted to lick every plate, I did to some since the room is dim and there is a spotlight focusing only on the table....bonus to my licking the plate expertise) The ceviche had thin slices of avocado cream that would melt w each bite of fish and your mouth temperature. Waaait, that same or similar frozen tactic was used for the shrimp endive w yogurt dish. (Uhg. Guys. Sooo good, I am mesmerized) the shrimp must have been puréed and poured as a thin sheet on a quick freeze and turned into these tiny granita molecules....this is creamy and melts w your mouth temperature....so good and clever! There were these barely cooked egg whites presented in a cloud shoe and it was filled w this scallop onion concoction......aaaaah.... so goood There were these leaves formed like a that was filled w this barely garlicky pesto....good flavor The desserts... Oh man... first the palate cleanser of watermelon grapefruit fresh frozen yogurt....holly bonus. And the end ...the homemade MARROC- how have I never heard of this as an Argentinian goody? We hear alfajores, choripan, steak, chimichurri, media luna, dulce de leche... Ps I want the eclipse light sconce on the walls Pps. Like in kai Matsumoto I wish I had a tour of all their plates and presented vessels so beautiful ... things you'd find at the renegade craftfare

But a little heads-up if you're visiting: learn how Argentinians order their meat. If you ask for jugoso, it'll land somewhere between rare and medium rare. Al punto is closer to medium, sometimes even leaning toward medium well depending on the kitchen. And well done. Honestly... don't even think about it. Another tip: don't rush to order sides. Unless you're just getting a salad or you're sharing with more than two people, one plate is usually more than enough. Around here, they believe in feeding you properly and they definitely deliver.

One of the things we did not appreciate was this awkward moment when it seemed like they were trying to give us alcohol we didn't order. Neither my husband or I drinks, so we had to explain that we didn't want it. The spaghetti I ordered was bare bones pasta with tomato sauce. I was really expecting a more elevated dish for the prices we paid. My husband said his steak was good, but definitely not worth the hype this place has. While the soccer memorabilia was fun to look at, the weirdness of the meal and this constant feeling that we were going to be charged for things we didn't want or the surreptitious way the desert was more expensive than some entrees really kept us on our guard. I would steer clear of this place. We had many enjoyable and wonderful dining experiences in BA and this one was a total outlier. Not worth the stress for sure.

We were in Buenos Aires for a few days prior to our Antartica Trip and asked our concierge at the Sofitel Hotel where we could go for a true Buenas Aires Steak experience. Without any delay he said that we must try Las Lilas. A simple ride over and beautiful location at the site of their redone area along the riverside. Much like every other city is doing. Restaurants. apartments, shops and lots of young people enjoying themselves. We walked inside this beautiful Steakhouse and elected to sit outside where we could enjoy the beautiful view and atmosphere in lovely warm weather. Let me be frank.... Walking into a beautiful Michelin restaurant is pretty much the same around the world. You walk in with a smile and high expectations. Right here in the beginning I will say that the team and service was impeccable from the beginning. Flawless in my opinion. They came over in introduced themselves while bringing us some water, cheesy bread and taking our drink order Appetizers: Three styles of tomatoes. Selection of cheeses from their very complete collection. Main items: 16oz PIcahna steak (shared) Fried Potatoes (shared) Of course the wine was Malbec which paired so perfectly with all the amazing food. I am not going to go through each item other than saying everything was 'over the top' delicious. My friend said to me that once you've had Buenas Aires Beef you'll never forget the amazing flavor. Even through my wife likes her meat more on the well side, it retained the tenderness and unbelievable flavor. There is definitely a reason that a place like this become a Michelin Restaurant. Cabaña Las Lilas is flawless and judging from the look on the faces of the other diners around us.... They thought so too. Please see the pictures I added. Many people shared as the portions are very generous. KUDOS to the team at Cabaña Las Lilas

This is predominantly a chorizo sandwich shop that also serves a large amount of steaks but it is counter service mostly (right across from the smoking hot grills) with I think just two tables in the back. They were very nice but this is sort of like fast casual downgraded a couple of notches. It is super hot in there because of the grills but the food was good and pricing was amazing. They serve you three different sauces to go with your choripan - the traditional slightly spicy red chimichurri, an oil and garlic sauce with fresh herbs, and then the standard finally chopped up onion tomato and peppers in vinegar. The menu is garrish looking as it is an oversized placemat that has been laminated. One large piece of French bread with the grilled chorizo and three sauces was only 50 Argentinian pesos - $2.50 US. You certainly aren't needing to pay for ambience but this barely covers the cost of the food and labor! This place would be great in the winter down here - June or July - when it is cold out and you can use the heat from the grills to warm yourselves, however in the summer it's brutal in there. Thought I was going to pass out it was so hot. It certainly makes you not want to linger.
