Salt & Steak offers a cozy, modern atmosphere that makes it a comfortable spot for a nice meal. The…read moreservice was good--friendly and attentive throughout our visit. The steak was tender and cooked well, and it came with condiments like jus and steak sauce, which added to the experience. However, the steak itself could have used a bit more seasoning and a stronger smoky flavor to really elevate it. Overall, it was an enjoyable dining experience with room for improvement in flavor depth.

I personally did not enjoy any part of this dining experience. The two ladies were just talking off on the side and texting on their phone all in plain sight. I understand there may be downtime in any shift but it lowers the vibe of the dining experience and also our soft drinks took forever to come to our table. just a Coke and just a sprite - also no offer for refills or asking if we wanted other drinks. the food itself took a LONG time to come out - only two entrees, no appetizers or fancy platters. once the food did come out I was surprised that everything was SO salty. also weird it's auto served with ketchup and bbq sauce. My steak had a lot of gristle on it and typically when the waitress would check in how things were I'd either mention it or they would apologize for the cut - but neither of the servers came by. I also didn't want to risk waiting another half hour for mediocre food and service. a family came in and they were seated right near us even though the restaurant was empty so that was also weird seating. when our meals were over and plates taken away eventually, we waited again for 10 minutes for someone to come by so we could get our bill. it's a weird layout because it's like the restaurant wants to be boujie but the service and food just don't meet the criteria. Needless to say it was not a good birthday dinner and I wouldn't recommend it.

Probably the best halal restaurant I went in Lower Mainland in my opinion. Their pizza is so good…read moreand tasty. Especially that the cheese is we sticky. But the only thing is that the pizza was quite greasy and the tables were kind of dirty. But I guess they probably had a rush since there was quite a lot of customers. So I give this reasturant a 4 star. But all of that, Great customer service. Great food. Good restaurant.

Unfortunately, the portion of fries was RIDICULOUSLY small. They must have given us something like ten fries, and they didn't even season them! I understand that a lot of people are worried about their sodium intake, but french fries need to be salted to taste even moderately edible! And when someone orders six pieces of chicken, they're obviously going to need more than a single serving of fries (just saying). Each piece of fried chicken was quite small, especially compared to chain restaurants like Church's Chicken or Kentucky Fried Chicken. I assume that this is because they use only halal meat in this restaurant (which I'm guessing is more expensive and more difficult to obtain than regular chicken). But to their credit, the restaurant's owners gave us eight pieces of chicken, which we appreciated as it helped make up for the small portions. Unfortunately, the chicken was also not salted and didn't even seem fried. It looked and tasted more like "boast chicken" which is the less oily and less greasy version of fried chicken. I can't speak for any other menu items at this restaurant, but I wouldn't recommend ordering their fried chicken. If you want to get a tastier fried chicken (and you're not afraid of going to Richmond) go to Red Rooster Fried Chicken instead. It's also a fried chicken restaurant, but resoundingly more delicious.

The spring rolls were freshly fried, crispy and very flavourful. They were also uniquely sliced and paired very well with a chilli fish sauce for dipping. The pho was good! The menu indicated the soup was simmered for at least 16 hours and I could tell. It had a strong beefy flavour and came boiling hot. The beef was also very tender and paired well with the rice noodles. The noodles were cooked well, however they were a wider noodle. I personally like thinner rice noodles with my pho however the noodles still complemented the soup well. The bowl of pho was on the pricier side however given the area it is expected. Would return if I'm craving Vietnamese food to try another dish!

It felt too squishy and I felt like I was unintentionally overhearing the next table's conversation. I asked to be moved to another table as there were some that were available. I was seated for quite some time, but wasn't offered any tea or water. I noticed that other tables were asked which option they preferred, but I was just given cold water. A lot of their tables didn't seem to be placed strategically. For example, one table was placed directly behind the entrance "greeting booth", and my (second) table was placed right outside the kitchen area and was in the way. I found it hard to flag down a server even though it wasn't a big place. It's possible that since the second guest at my table was running late, they thought to wait to approach me upon their arrival. The Lemongrass chicken salad roll was absolutely delicious. Probably the best salad roll I've had in a long time. The Lemongrass beef short rib portion was massive. It was very tasty and almost good enough for 1.5 portions. The presentation for their drinks and food were on point. The lychee mohito tasted strongly of lime with subtle lychee. Although I find that the customer service and seating weren't the best, the food definitely is worth it. 5 stars for food 3 stars for service
