Service here is so friendly and I love that they have so many options, including fresh juices and ice cream. But this is the 2nd time I have come here and there was a mistake. I got their Grilled Lebanese Arayes Akawi Cheese (Pita Bread with Akawi Cheese grilled). The cheese was nonexistent existent and the photo comes with veg which never came. I also got the Falafel plate (Five falafels with rice, fattoush and tabouli salad, hummus, tahini, a stuffed grape leaf, and pita bread). I said no rice which they offered fries instead! Great, yes. I said no pita as well and added sides of their garlic sauce and their spicy garlic sauce. This plate is huge! Easily 2 meals. Mines came with rice and no fries and pita. Doesn't look inviting from outside but the ambience inside wasn't bad. We ordered beef shawarma plate, beef burger & chicken burger. Food was fresh and delicious. You could taste the freshness. The meat wasn't dry and didn't smell like most of the other shawarma's out there. The highlight was the garlic sauce!!! So good! It was all very filling and we enjoyed our meal. This place is listed as one of the famous shawarma places in surrey. We decided to order from here via uber eats as our first lunch in vancouver. It was such a disappointment and our whole lunch was ruined with a tasteless food. We ordered Lamb Shawarma, Chicken Shawarma and Falafel Shawarma wraps. Over a number of visits, the customer service has been a hit or miss. This visit was another miss. We stood there waiting to be seated and ended up seating ourselves. The only server asks if we have been helped when there were two tables of customers (table of 2 and table of 4). She was on autopilot and could not keep track of the customers. She dropped off the menus. Then she preceded to sit at the corner table by the cash register and eat her dinner and look down the whole time....My date got up and ordered the food himself as we did not want to waste our time here watching her eat. I know servers deserve their breaks, but why would she just not say anything after dropping the menu that she was going on break. Plus, just sitting across from me eating her dinner at 7:30pm and why is there no one else covering the floor. We ordered the falafel veggie plate and chicken shawarma. There were at least 3 guys I can see working behind the cash register. They should have had one guy go cover the floor while the server is eating her food. The falafel plate was dropped off after a 15 minute wait. The chicken shawarma plate was dropped off at the wrong table. One of the guys came back out to the floor, took the plate from that table and dropped it back on my table. The food tasted good. I really do like the hummus, and the garlic sauce. The falafel was pipping hot and tasty. The stuffed grape leaf was made of nicely seasoned rice wrapped with a grape leaf. The quality of the food has been consistent over the visits. This place is awesome! I was skeptical when I read about this place on Yelp. I really didn't know what to expect, and was especially skeptical when I saw the prices. However, when I tried the food, it just blew me away. I grew up on Middle Eastern food and spent most of my life eating all sorts of dishes from the area, in varying quality. Therefore, I'd say I have a pretty high standard when it comes to Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine--and I'm glad to report that Jerusalem Grill delivers! This restaurant is completely authentic, from its staff to the way the meat is cooked. I ordered the chicken shawarma and it was very complete. It came with a side of pita, a salad, some hummus, and tons of chicken shavings. It was an impressive array of all sorts of different tastes and I loved every last bit. They also offer a choice between rice or fries, but you'd be crazy not to get the rice. The staff was efficient with preparation and also very nice, which is unfortunately a rare quality in most Mediterranean restaurants. In front of us in the line were two police officers grabbing a bite to eat, and we saw their new police Dodge Charger outside. The guy at the register also noticed it, apparently, because he told them what a cool car it was and about how he loved stealing it and driving it in Grand Theft Auto V! It was really funny. He was a very laid back guy and took our orders fast and was very polite. This is definitely a gem. Ordered chicken leg plate which comes to about 12 or 13 bucks Canadian. From the picture in the menu, I was expecting a plate full of a meal, but it wasn't. Yum yumm yummilicious! Now this is what good food is all about! Ordered the chicken kabob plate and it came with 2 skewers of chicken, rice, pita, salad, tabbouleh, hummus and garlic sauce. I actually watched patrons come in and asked the owner whether he's from Jerusalem-- thinking this place is kosher. The look of disappointment on their faces when they were told otherwise. Anyways, for $15 I ordered the lamb shawarma. Not exactly cheap. I was greeted with stale store bought pitas, a cold serving of rice and overnight fragments of meat--supposedly lamb. Ordered take out and I told the lady a few times to make sure no dairy and gluten in the food. when my husband and I opened up the boxes there is this yogurt looking sauce. I called them and the lady said it is garlic and mix with oil but I was wondering if she is lying. My husband wants me to ask if the falafels are made out of chickpeas or mix with wheat flour so I did. The lady asked the kitchen and confirm they are made out of wheat flour. I said to her that I ask her when I ordered to make sure nothing is made out of wheat cause my husband and I have allergies. I asked so what you are you going to do about it since we can't even eat the falafels. She said she will give me $10 discounts with next purchase and will text me in 10minuntes to to confirm that. However since 8:30PM I haven't receive any text from the restaurant. I don't like dishonest restaurant and people in food industry aren't helping their customers with their food allergies as well. I had the platter with three different skewers; chicken, lamb and kofta. My sister had the lamb shank platter. Now this is a collection of unique flavours. Very different from your typical takeout shwarma outfit. Ever been to Nuba in Vancouver? You'll get similar flavour profiles at this restaurant, at a fraction of the cost and in a much more casual atmosphere. Maybe not as high quality dishes or comfortable atmosphere, but Jerusalem Grill has a certain special flare that makes it worthwhile. Be careful what you opt for if you do not care for overcooked meat. The cubed beef or lamb can be a bit dry and or chewy, as with the beef kufta (in whole form). But add a little garlic sauce or baba ganoush and you can hardly notice! The kufta with humus on pita is very tasty. If you have the option to try rice or fries, go for the rice. It is delicious. Pretty good middle eastern joint, coming from an Arab! I ordered a chicken shawarma platter and my friend ordered the same with fries. We received it promptly. From first sight, I think there could've been more chicken, but I'm willing to look past it because everything was so filling. The hummus, garlic sauce, and salads were made well and fresh! (Not something usual) We got pita bread on the side and my friend had her fries. The pita was cold unfortunately, but the fries were nice and fresh; it reminded me of how my mom makes fries. The place was very clean, but it could've had some music or something in the background; it was pretty quiet and I couldn't really talk too loud. I couldn't really talk in Arabic either because obviously the family working is Arab lol. I think it needs more ambience is all. Very authentic and friendly place. A little slow with dine in service, but I understand they were training. The chicken shwarma was beautifully seasoned with large cuts of meat. It came with two salads, a choice of rice or fries, pita bread and pita chips, and a drink. The garlic dip was amazing! We found out there is no mayo in it and consists of just garlic and yogurt.
