I'd like to start by saying, I'm everybody's skeptic. Our first pool (from Namco) lasted us 15 years. When the wall blew out, we had a "pool contractor" do the warranty replacement. From that point on, our pool was a disaster. After last year's brutal freezes, the wall blew out again, Our replacement was a premium grade from Pool and Patio in Coventry. My wife searched for days, and we finally decided in Mark. Despite a few "sour apples" from obviously difficult, hard to please people, after speaking with him, we were convinced he was our choice. He showed up on time, well prepared, and very informative. He was very professional and the quality of his work was very obvious. He took percautions keeping in mind the landscape, and explained every key step. Mark has been doing this since he was ten years old, the quality of his workmanship is clearly evident. In chatting he explained how far he'll go to make sure his customers are happy. He's very ambitious, and hardworking. As the pictures will show, his workmanship is excellent. His rate was unmatched and very fair, (especially compared to others that wanted to charge me double the installation rate) He explained how his business offers pool closings at a very reasonable rate. We will be happy to have him close our pool from now on, in addition to any future service work needed. He will also be first to be recomended to any friends looking to install a pool. Unless you're a person that just can't obviously be pleased, you'll have no worries here whatsoever. read more

I initially contacted Mark while shopping around for above-ground pool installation and was impressed by how quickly he responded and answered all my questions. He came out for a quote and seemed professional at first. But on installation day, I was surprised to learn he had subcontracted the job to someone else, a contractor who was rude, unprofessional, and canceled because of light morning rain, even though the forecast cleared up by 9 a.m. Mark agreed with their decision and told me to call someone named Carlos, who could "get me in ASAP." I was confused why was I calling anyone else when I had hired him to do the job? We took time out of work to be home and based on the forecast for that day I found it ridiculous! I get if there is going to be chances of heavy rain then obviously a pool install should be cancelled but it was literally dry the ENTIRE DAY after 9 am and the ground was hardly wet where I live! When I questioned it, Mark told me he doesn't make money on the installs and just passes the work off to other contractors. He said he had "no time for me." I was never told the job would be subcontracted, even though the permit was pulled under his company's name. In the end, I can't recommend him due to the lack of honesty and professionalism. Fortunately, the second crew (despite bad reviews) showed up as promised, worked through the extreme heat, and did a great job! read more

First off the actual install was great, but there are some things that bothered me. I bought apool through Apollo pools and they recommended Mark, we didn't even search for another installer. The problem i have is there is little to no communication before the day of install. Being a new pool owner, i was nervous about where to put the pool and talked about having them come out to discuss it, also wanted to know how to get a permit. They said they only come out beforehand for inground or replacement. Ok. Then he didn't get all the documents to me for the permit application, I get it hes human. The week before the install he tells me i need to order sand, i did, another cost outside of the install that i was not aware of. Install day comes great put it were i want it, friendly workers, ect. After they level it out, they leave all the dirt around the pool so that's another cost for me to remove the dirt. After they left, all the trash from not only the pool but from his workers is left in my yard. Also no explanation of how the filter works or even how to turn it on. Maybe I'm naive but i thought all those things were included in the $3,000 install cost. read more

Beware of Mark Grover owner at Aquarium Pool and Spa Medway Mass. His crew is rude and incompetent, did not know how to install a sand filter. left it leaking. left liner with big sand bumps underneath. Mark was informed and refused to come look at and correct the bumps left by his crew . he says he warrants his work but that is not true. we were able to stop the leaking filter on our own. I have had 3 pools installed in the past and never ever had bumps under the liner. I would not recommend this company. read more

Called Mark to have above ground pool installed in the same location that a pool had previously been in our back yard. His price was well above the three contractor names that were supplied to us, but he was able to come out sooner, so we decided to pay the premium to avoid the wait. Unfortunately, these installers do not know the code for electric to pool clearances and they installed the pool too close to the electric that was already in place at pool install. When our electrician came out to bond the pool, he informed us that he would have to move the electricity in order for it to meet code and pass inspection. We had to pay our electrician an additional $200.00 for this work. When my husband contacted Mark and asked if he knew the clearances, his response was "I do not, sorry, check with a pool store like Apollo pools, they should be able to help". My husband informed Mark that a minimum of 5' is required and that we had to pay an extra $200.00 to our electrician to move it. Mark's reply was "we usually tell our customers to do the electrical after". Our mistake for thinking we were his customer, or that the installers know the codes for the work that they're doing. Buyer beware, teach yourself the codes for the installation because they don't know it and their mistakes will cost you. read more

I called 6 places and most didn't call back or took 24 hours or more to do so. Mark was the only one to call me right back and actually talked in depth about my options. He installed a new floor, liner and foam on the walls in my aboveground pool. I thought he was great and had really good communication. Yes it rain on my day of install so it got canceled. I understand he is not going to bump all the other installs but he did get me in within the week. read more

Mark did a great job on our free-form gunite pool. He was honest and came back to blow out some pipes that he missed the first time! We purchased a 24ft round above ground pool back in May and thought we would give a try on installing it ourselves. After 3 Sundays in making the effort we gave up and decided to call around for pool contractors. I left message/email on several local contractor's listed on yelp as high stars and the only person who called me back was Mark from Aquarian Pool and Spa. He was upfront with the cost and timeline of 3 weeks out. His team Billy, Glen and Patty work like an oil machine in getting the area leveled and pool installed. They did everything in less then 5 hours on Sunday. I'm so happy with the result and appreciation from the minute he took my call the completion. Its Customer Service the way it should be. What horrible service I called the first week in May and they cancelled over 4 times It is now June 19th, According to them the pool should have been in by the end of May They could have cared less on how I felt about it ,. Needed a liner replaced for a Namco pool. Mark Austin came out, measured, provided a quote and was told approx 10 days for install if I chose to hire him. I hired him, was then given a 4 week time frame..install to be done the Friday before a Memorial Day. I reached out to him to confirm, and he came 2 days earlier. Once on site, I was told my pool was too bent and I needed to tear up part of the wooden deck to properly install. Reluctantly I said ok and I would have it done later that day. Mark said he would send me an email to confirm when they could come back...we'll the email stated that basically he had shown his partner pictures of my pool and they had decided that they could not properly install and warranty a new liner. Seriously? Pretty sure any issues should have been identified the first time he came out and to leave me hanging 2 days before Memorial Day weekend was ridiculous. Very unprofessional!!! read more

I hired Aquarian Pool and Spa for a Above Ground Pool Install. I spoke with Mark over the phone who was very professional and answered all my questions in a professional manner and not to mention the price was right. I decided to hire Mark as he was honest and provided me with all the information i needed in a timely manner. These guys came to install my pool and did an AMAZING job. The day my pool was scheduled to be installed turned out to be extremely windy despite the wind the job was executed as planned without any complications. WHAT A JERK MARK AUSTIN IS! Scheduled and canceled 5 times then told me 2 days before installing we had to get the sand and then today at 6 am I get an email not a phone call that he isn't coming! Mark and his crew were amazing! Our original plan was to buy a used pool and have them take it down, move it and set up the pool in our yard. Mark advised me that the pool was not in good enough condition to do this, I really appreciated his honesty. We ended up ordering a new pool and Aquarian was there just a few days later to set the pool up. For the past 2 years, they have been there for us whenever we call. They stand by their work and I would recommend them to anyone. We have had 2 great summers in our pool and looks forward to many more read more
