I was referred to this pool "company" from Georgia Classic Pools. We thought that we were going to be in good hands. Just the opposite. This company failed to follow up and provide pool leak detection services, not ONCE, not TWICE but THREE times. We gave them an opportunity 3 times. They followed up via text once or twice but lied on providing any follow-up services at all. I'm certain that they do not need my business . . . and quite possibly they do not need YOUR business as well ! ! ! -- UPDATE -- July 2, 2025 -- UPDATE -- Ever heard of that phrase, "Good things come to those who wait?" Well, this morning, Zack and his crew showed up on time, they notified us twice, once from the office, and once by Zack himself, and started checking the pool for water loss. They were extremely polite, professional, experienced and efficient. They offered much needed pool advice and suggestions. We will definately keep AquaRama Pools & Spas in our data base! One could NEVER call this company reliable or dependable by any stretch! "Appointments" are completely lost on them. They are a prime example of not only the decline of customer service in this country but of common courtesy as well! We have now had 4 appointments for our pool opening, not one of them kept. Today's appointment, we even called twice to confirm we were still on and were told both times they were still coming within the 5-hour window. When they in fact had not showed by 5:30 PM, we were eventually advised they would be cancelling yet again! I suppose we should be grateful that they even called us this time since they did not extend that courtesy for the previous 3 cancellations. Tomorrow I will have to request for the 5th time, another day off to be home for our pool "appointment". read more

Updated review: We had an issue with the initial service that we received from Aquarama. We called and let the manager know and they asked for a chance to make things right. They did indeed send out three techs (free of charge) who fixed the issue. Excellent customer service. read more

When the guy that's going to service my pool starts out to my pool with an armful of chemicals - WITHOUT having tested the pool water, it solidifies what I believe is the mandate from management. Pad the bill and add everything, no matter the need for a specific product. I have maintained my own pool and expected they use my chemicals 1st! I have continually challenge the "blank check" they think they are entitled to...the tone and contact with Tyler is disrespectful and frustrating. The minimum monthly service fee is way too high for the continued need to keep "reminding" the guy to test the water 1st, stop putting chlorine tabs in the skimmer (open the chlorinator) and vacuum the pool. The Supervisor- Tyler seems to thrive on being as unprofessional and exasperating as possible. I recommend you keep calling other companies, keep looking, the open-ended weekly service fee for Aquarama is NOT worth the same weekly aggravation to make them treat you with honesty and respect. read more

I called and scheduled an appointment to have my hot tub repaired. The heating element went bad. On the day of my appointment I received a text telling me that my appointment had been changed to the following day due to workload. I texted back, "No worries, see you guys tomorrow." What an absolute joke of a company, with a serious lack of communication problem. After our initial pool clean we were told someone would come weekly on Fridays for maintenance. This past Friday rolls around and no one shows up... I call Saturday to see what happened and was told that our ticket had been moved to Mondays without our knowledge. I made it clear that our house was being professionally photographed on Monday to be put on the market later in the week so the cleaning would need to be completed before 11am. Was told this was not an issue - called Monday morning at 11am to confirm it was completed and was promptly told that the technician had called out sick "only an hour before" and there was nothing they could do. I would have never found out this information had I not called myself and now we have a dirty pool prior to pictures being taken. DO NOT recommend if you expect timeliness and thorough communication from a business. read more

I am giving 1 star because I can't give 0 stars. I have never had such a horrible experience with a company before that I felt the need to post it online. I have tried since October 8, 2021 to have someone come out and look at my spa. I have made 12 - yes, 12 calls to them from Oct 8 to Dec 23rd and only received 2 calls back within that time frame. I moved meetings and customers around in my own business waiting on a repair technician who never showed up on multiple occasions. No one ever called me to tell me he wasn't showing up. I was promised a technician on December 20th, today is January 5th. I'm still waiting. So, if you have nothing but unlimited time and fairytale dreams - feel free to give them a try. This post is the good and bad about this company. Currently in the process of staging and selling our home and I am out of the state due to work with everything being left for my wife to handle. I called around several different pool companies to get an estimate we decided to go with AquaRama Pools & Spas. Initially up front after speaking with Bill who has been very Professional and helpful the whole time with this company they were able to get a team out to clean the pool prior to pictures being taken. We were told our services would be every Friday. My wife calls them over the weekend because no one had come on Friday to do the weekly cleaning of the pool, that is when she was told they changed our days to Mondays my wife tells them that our photographer will be there by 1100 on Monday April 18 to take the pictures of the house and asked for them to be there prior to that. Well Monday comes around and my wife had to call the company and double check to see if it was completed prior to 1100 this was at 1030 where she was then notified that the employee had called in sick an hour prior and that no one would be able to come out and clean the pool. As anyone would expect that would get under the skin of any customer and it was unacceptable of the non existent communication from the company. The General Manager Sandy calls my wife after my wife had posted honest reviews of the company on different sites. Sandy was able to get an employee to go to the house unfortunately after our photographers were there. After Sandy had seen the reviews and the conversation with my wife she was trying to convince my wife to remove the reviews that she had posted earlier. My wife had said she would remove the reviews as long as the company held up their end and maintained better communication and service. The pictures below are the result of the employee coming out to service on Monday. I called and spoke to Bill on Wednesday April 20 to see if we were still on the schedule for Friday to be cleaned because our house goes on the market and there will be showings. Our conversations with Bill has always been professional he said the GM was out of the office and would speak with her and get back to me to see if we were still on the schedule. Brings me to today April 21, Bill again very professional had called me to inform me that the GM Sandy would not have us as customers until the reviews were removed. With that being said I can not recommend this company as a pool service due to the lack of Communication and Professionalism from the General Mangers and lack of quality of service. read more

They are honest, dependable and very knowledgeable about building pools, maintaining pools and the pool business. We have experienced every complaint written below with Aquarama. They don't call back after promising to. This has happened over 20x. We have documented every interaction with Aquarama. After getting an estimate for pool renovations last March and April (2021) We have yet to have a finished project. We were given an estimate which was higher that the others but I grew up in Marietta and 20 years ago they had a great reputation. After paying for the renovations following their payment schedule. They called and said the estimate was miscalculated and we owed an additional $20,000! How you make this type of error is beyond me. It was their estimate then written again on contract and we have been paying according to their schedule. You don't look at an invoice for close to a year and not notice such a miscalculation!! Now they won't finish the concrete they agreed to do 4 months ago. They don't call back and I cannot count the number of no shows we have encountered throughout this process. The tech they sent out to show us how to work the equipment (which was an additional charge) was so incredibly rude and he couldn't get the equipment to connect to WiFi and said it is "probably because we pay for the cheapest WiFi package!! Not true and who talks like that to customers?? Aquarama is purposely withholding services and ignoring us because we didn't fall for the bait and switch. I noticed in these reviews we are not the only ones they tried to get more than their estimate after the contract was signed. I can't imagine running a business this way and expecting to last. We are really disappointed that after so much money and months and months of excuses from them we look outside and see an incomplete project. read more

Customer Service and Follow-up Concerns Recently Aquarama replaced my pool liner. I must say, the pool liner looks beautiful and the installers were on-time, efficient and professional. The problem occurred after the installation. A necessary part of the pool jet was not installed that would allow me to connect my pool robot to the pool wall. I called the office as soon as I realized why I couldn't connect the robot and was told someone would return to my home and connect the missing piece the following day on Wednesday. No call, no show. I called Aquarama again at the end of the day on Wednesday and was assured someone would come out on Thursday. Again, no show. I repeated my call on Friday, along with sending an email and was told that the Project Manager would be contacted to see when someone would come out. Again, no call, no show. Great job, but horrible customer service if you need follow-up. read more

CAUTION! I have used AquaRama on and off for over 10 years. Every experience has been frustrating (unreliable, misleading, bait+change order, etc.). I have continued to use them because they are one of the only remaining companies in the area that services my brand of equipment. Yesterday I had the most unprofessional experience to date. The tech went off on me with a verbal assault that crossed the line. If you chose to use AquaRama, be prepared for unreliability, misleading quotes, missed appointments, a sales pitch followed by bad service, etc. I am at the point of switching out my equipment (at a very significant cost) just to avoid having to deal with this company. Several missed appointments, still waiting on them to complete the last part of the job 5 months after we paid them. They keep saying they are coming every single day and they do not show up, nor do they call to apologize or reschedule. I recently bought a house with a pool, and I don't know how to service or clean the pool. I called AquaRama because the previous owner used them. We scheduled a time for them to come out. After three no call no shows, I'm done. I took time off work to meet them and they never show. Don't trust the people on the phone when you call. Beyond disappointed with our pool opening from Aquarama. Previously used Aquarama 3 years ago and had a terrible experience with a no call-no show and had our money refunded. Ever since, we've used another local company (AAA Pools and Spas; they're fantastic). This year they were booked up, so we reluctantly scheduled with Aquarama. The difference in what we got between the two companies is night and day. They didn't vacuum the pool, only brushed the top part of the walls, and my wife watched as the young guy dragged a net along the bottom of the pool for 30 minutes. The other company used a scrub brush to clean out the skimmer - Aquarama never touched the skimmer, so it's covered in black muck and dirt. So, after paying $300 for an opening which includes "a vacuuming and 1 hour of cleaning", my wife and I are out vacuuming, scrubbing the walls, and cleaning the skimmer? So we paid to have the cover opened and folded up and $80 in chemicals we already had in our shed? If you find yourself needing an opening or closing, check out AAA Pools and Spas. TL:DR: very bad service and communication that is also too expensive. Waited 2 days for someone to do a leak detection. Guy shows up and didn't have any equipment and was not even made aware that this was my problem. Do not recommend. They were supposed to come Wednesday between 1-2. They called and said they could not come but would come on Thursday between 1-2. At around noon they told me they could were behind and would not be able to come until after 5. He got here around 7:30. I know these guys are swamped, but it sucks to wait around. The main reason I needed them to come out, which they were aware of, was that I was concerned because in the past couple of weeks, I have had to add so much water to pool, running the hose for 45 mins, at least 4 times a week. They said they would send someone over to a leak detection. The guy today had no leak equipment and was not even aware that this was a concern. So I essentially waited around for 2 days for a guy who was not prepared to even do what I needed (not his fault). One of the other reasons was because their service person dumped 4 giant bags of salt in my non-saltwater pool last week. When I called them, they tried to tell me that my pool was saltwater, but it isn't. At least today's guy confirmed. Another thing: I pay for the $55 cleaning service. I know they add chemicals, and that the price of chemical has increased a lot over the past year, but my bills have been as high as $192.55. And after that visit I could not see the bottom of my pool for a week. Two weeks later, when they dumped the salt, the bill was $121.29, also with a very cloudy bottom and actual dust piles as you walked around. Maybe the unneeded salt did that. I had told them not to add clarifier or bleach (I have my own) but they added both. I told them that it is unreasonable to be expected to pay up to $700 a month for pool cleaning. I have a tiny pool too, one of the smaller ones. I don't even know where I can go from here. I can't even imagine how long it will take for the actual leak detector to come out. The following was put together from call and text records: April 12th: I contacted Aquarama April 19th, A tech diagnosed the issue and stated they would order the needed part for a faulty pool pump. April 26th: I called. They did not return the call. April 27th: I reached out via text, Aquarama stated they would reach out with an update by the next morning. They did not. (The pool is now green.) April 30th: I texted. Aquarama responded stating the part would ship Monday. May 6th: After reaching out via text Aquarama stated that the shipment should arrive within 1-2 business days. May 12: I texted. No response that day. May 14th: Aquarama responded via text, stating that it would ship out on Monday. May 19th: I reached out via text, "Please tell me the part shipped on Monday" Aquarama stated they would track it and get back with me. They did not. It has been 30 days since I first contacted them. May 21st: I called. They did not return the call. May 24th: I called. They did not return the call. May 25th: I called. When the individual stated the person I needed to talk to was "at lunch" I told them I would wait on the phone until they returned. I was put on hold and the head of the department, Sandy, was on the phone within 2 minutes. She stated they did not have the part. Sandy seemed professional. I gave her the timeline of events I had prepared prior to the call. I told her about the condition of the pool. I maintained a completely respectful tone the entire conversation and I also communicated my disappointment. She was polite, said she would figure it out, and the call ended with me thanking her for taking the time to resolve the issue. May 25th: Sandy called back that evening and said she had waited "all day" on hold with Hayward. She said she would try again the next day. I thanked her. May 26th: (Strap in!) Sandy called at 2:00. She said that there had never really been a problem. That somehow it had been "sitting on a dock and waiting" all this time. She insisted right out of the gate: it was not Aquarama's fault at all, but Haywards. Thankfully after her call to them, Hayward reported the part would now be expedited. This bothered me. I told her even if what she was saying was true that it took almost a month and a half for them to make contact with Hayward. That Aquarama had not returned even 1 of my phone calls. I had been lightly and respectfully informing them of the condition of the pool. Texting them. It took me refusing to get off of the phone when I last called to get any action. The pool water might be ruined: It was black. Maybe they could absorb the cost of sending someone out to help? She said no, it simply "wasn't their fault" and if I would like she would write a "maintenance letter" to my utility company. "Maybe they would give me a break on my utility bill" for replacing the water she said. I told her that Aquarama of course bore some responsibility, it was ridiculous to insist otherwise. (It would also be fundamentally dishonest to claim this to the utility company. She knew that.) But Sandy did insist, throwing everything but the kitchen sink: It was the Pandemic...It was manufacturing issues...They were swamped in her office unlike anything she had ever experienced in her 30 years. She talked about how the price of lumber had gone up and this affected her as she was in the middle of renovations after moving into her daughters in-law suite. She insisted I should be grateful for her recent efforts. For all these stated reasons: It was Hayward's fault completely. This seemed silly to me, I told her even if Hayward had issues, it had no bearing on "Aquarama never returning any of my calls". You kept saying it was being shipped when it wasn't and now the pool is a wreck. I would have bought another pump in the interim had I known. Surely Aquarama bore some responsibility in this? She said they did not accept any responsibility and that I would also be charged for installing the drive because the warranty only covered parts, not labor. I told her I would be giving a very honest review of all that had happened and to just get me the part, I would install it myself. She then said I would be charged for the original diagnostic. I told her "Fine. I'll give you your money, just get me the part". She seemed insulted, and this is when she showed her colors, "You know what?", she said. "You can keep your money, and you can get your part from somewhere else!" And then she hung up the phone. 6 weeks, 2 days, and one ruined pool later I was literally back to square one. Trust me: Aquadrama isn't worth it. It would be less emotionally taxing to get a double major in chemistry and engineering and take care of your pool yourself. Or you could simply call someone else at the onset. Your choice. read more

I almost gave up on the company until she got involved and then she sent out an excellent technician to my house to take care of my pool. I think his name was Zack.. Very nice young man who works hard and also educated me on a couple of pool maintenance tips. Because of their customer service I will continue to use Aquarama Pools!! read more

I contacted AquaRama after reading positive reviews and this is why I feel compelled to leave some honest feedback about our experience. First DON'T give this company your credit card to just place on file. After changing the date which they could come out multiple times they sent a salesman / consultant out for an hour (after I had already explained what I had wanted over the phone) to come over and after about 20 minutes of looking over my pool and showing him the pump I wanted replaced he then showed me how the different levers turned. (something I had knowledge of already). I had initially asked if there would be a charge to just come look system since we didn't need a sales call, what we really needed was the pump installation, and the customer service When the initial call was made, by Barry, I inquired once again, before he even started. He assured me that this company had been around for years and that "Uncle Ben" was not in the business of screwing over his customers so that they would discount the initial service call. After all of this, the tech burnt up more time asking me financial advice on his daughter's 429 plans just to make sure that there was more time on the clock. AquaRama then proceeded to charge me a full amount of over $130 just for a sales call before doing any work, just to confirm the small extra pump size I had originally asked for and then to schedule the technician. When the technician came after another set of delays, he was to install the pump and then as previously discussed I was going to remove the old plastic bowl that was being directed to the cleaner port and have the junction redirected so that water from the heater could be directed in to the shallow end of the pool. He said no problem, that he knew what he was doing and was a professional. It took a few hours but they showed me the new junction valve which they had installed and said the water would be redirected to the pool like we we talked about. This was done in January on a day which was sprinkling - The worst part was when I went to go open my pool in March and heat it up, if I turned the new junction which was just installed, then the heater would cut off because it was not getting any water. So it was installed totally wrong. After installing the pump - they didn't offer the manual or the warranty information. They didn't even give a detailed bill explaining all of their charges. The sales call was a full charge, the quoted price for the install from the sales call was not the same price as what was actually charged, and since they had my card on file with the code they didn't even need a signature after performing the work. Trying to contact AquaRama customer service was a few hours of run around with zero results. They simply stated that they performed the work and that a technician had to come out to evaluate the situation for the initial call (this was after the charges were filed - and a different story before they were trying to gain a new customer.) Save your self the headache and choose a different pool company, there are plenty in the metro Atlanta areas. read more

Do not use this company! In 2014, one year after I moved into my house with a pool, the motor went out, and I contacted Aquarama because the home's prior owner used them. They replaced the motor. Then in 2017, the motor went out again. I contacted Aquarama again -- obviously disappointed that a new motor died after only 3 years. But, again, I paid Aquarama for a brand new motor and the labor costs of installation. Now it's 2019, just two years after they replaced my motor (for the second time!), and the motor is dead once more. I called Aquarama to see what they would do about this. Their answer is that there is only a one-year warranty on their clearly inferior products, and they're saying that I have to pay not only for a new motor once more, but also for labor costs again. Ummmmm no thanks. I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

Completely unreliable service. I have tried to use this company year after year and they consistently disappoint. However, if you need a several hundred dollar or more equipment install they are able to come immediately! For example having a new filter at $800 last year and a new motor at $500 installed this year was done the next day. Unfortunately, if you need the pool cleaned and maintained to actually use it, good luck!! They do not communicate at all. The latest issue that has made me finally give up on them is that I waited 5 days for them to come begin my pool clean up. On the 5th day I called to check and they didn't even have me on the schedule for the clean up, only the motor replacement. Interesting! Sorry, but Aquarama is not a reliable company at all. read more
