Great Service, Friendly and knowledgeable

A salesman came to my door with an aggressive approach. I asked for a business card or brochure and he said he was paperless. He tossed around the names of a couple neighbors and repeatedly went into his high pressure sales approach. After I said I would not sign his tablet contract today and would have to think about it, he asked if later today worked for the first treatment. I again said I would not be making a decision today and asked for his phone number so I could follow up. He refused to give out the number. Why would I do business with someone like this? read more

Absolutely terrible customer service in their billing department! I would never recommend their service.

I've had nothing but issues with this company. Poor quality work. Still have bug issues, had a dead ground hog right after they sprayed, my dog got sick right after they sprayed and I've also lost 2 of my fruit trees because they're work was not done properly. I've also received emails from technicians with photos of work that was supposedly done that I am unable to open. I've also had to have them come back out mutliple times to do resprays and fix other issues that were not done properly the first time. I recommend no one use this company read more

What has happened to this company? Trying to get through on the phones the past 3 months has become a nightmare. Today I have been on hold 41 minutes, I KID YOU NOT!!! This was not the way they operated just a few months ago. Were they sold to some investor group that is running them into the ground? The technicians are very good. If I could give it no stars, I would. DONT DO IT. They sent two ladies out to "service my home". These girls had no idea what they were doing came in looked and said they weren't sure about ants, put two ant traps even after letting me know they do not believe it will work and do not know if it will do anything and charged $149. when I called the next day and let them know how displease I was told I would not be charged, guess what still charged. called back spoke with Char, who was no help absolutely rude and told me if I was Not charged I told her I was clearly charged she then said well oh I see it. And argue with me about my service seemingly refusing to refund my money. she yelled on the phone out "services" provided I let her know I spoke with someone and these services were not provided, furthermore the girls did not know how to help with the issue in my home. once again, this sham of a company will steal your money, lie to your face and continue to charge for services not rendered. It was awesome watching Aptive van ( DB 70785 ) speed on Rt.38/Tailgate and make ridiculous lane changes. Blew through the red light at Rt.38 and Joliet Rd. This was around 6:20am on 11-14-2022. I hope driving like an idiot was worth it. Great advertising for the company!! read more

I am currently attempting to cancel my service with Aptive. Apparently they require a 12 month service agreement and charge $140 for early cancellations. Beware of any company that operates in this manner. If a customer is unsatisfied and wishes to cancel, don't threaten to charge them more... read more

They come out and spray and look around but they have not found any of my entry points and I still have some ice which are now upstairs after having the service for about a year. I thought that they were all gone and the majority of them are but I think there an OK service I'm not a great one. read more

We have had Aptive for some time now. We have had many techs work on our house doing the spray for bugs and traps for mice. Forrest was our tech today and was the most conscientious person we have had to date. If you are in the market to keep your home clean, don't listen to companies who just tell you wonderful things, and be even more critical of sales people who trash talk other companies...and then...check their reviews BEFORE signing with them...you will see that Aptive is a great company with great reviews because of their great service. The service provided by Aptive Environmental failed to work. I had agreed to service back in August 2021 and was verbally guaranteed by the Aptive Environmental salesman their service was effective in eliminating insect home invasion. The services failed to work from the start. In September 2021, Aptive Environmental had to reservice because the number of insects had doubled after the service was done in early September. I called and canceled service with Aptive Environmental shortly after the reservice was done in September because it failed to work. They kept my service open after I verbally canceled them. I was verbally told on the phone twice that my account was canceled and I did not have to worry about the balance by their associates. On December 29, 2021, I called twice because I was still receiving bills from Aptive Environmental, and I was told not to worry about the bill again, and they assured me my account was closed. January 25, 2022, I received a collections bill for Aptive Environmental in the amount of $469. Right after the phone call with A.R.M solutions I called Aptive Environmental again, and the person I spoke to was unwilling to help me with my questions about the bill and collection and then hung up on me. I called again and the associate was sorry to hear everything I mentioned above and told me a manager would contact me in 3-5 days. The service never worked. I had to go purchase insect repellent at a local store and apply it myself to get rid of the insects. Aptive Environmental services failed at their promise and communication. I will not pay for services that NEVER worked and were and were guaranteed by Aptive Environmental. read more

Each time a service provider has been sent to our home, I have found the technicians to be polite, knowledgeable & on time. Between scheduled visits, with a phone call -- Aptive has been quick to send someone out to eradicate any nuisance we might have -- and I really appreciate it. Never in my life have I dealt with such a disgusting company... sales man comes around says he will get rid of pest inside and out. Living in Addison I was getting a few ants in kitchen so I figured get a professional to handle it. After 1st spray bigger ants came form no where, advised them they sent someone and more ants kept coming in. I was told it was due to the spray???? Next two times every time they came out I got these huge carpenter ants all over my house which I've never seen, no excuse there just that they can come back??? Then they still wanted a cancellation fee when the service really was horrible. Horrible experience with them and the process in general beware!!! They don't guarantee anything!!! No money back nothing!!! Just come back to spray the same yucky stuff again!!! read more

They come and knock on my door once a month. All the different salesman have lied to both my wife and I about black widow spiders in the area. It's the same fake sales pitch with a difference face consistently. The first time they came, the sales man rang my doorbell. After 10 minutes, I went to check my mailbox and he was popped out of my bushes and was very pushy. I listened to his fake sales pitch and asked for a business card. He said "I don't do business cards" and wouldn't respect that I didn't want to hire him on the spot. Thankfully I didn't, because he was a scammer and so is this company. A sales person came to my door to talk to me about their offering, ignored my comments about how he was interrupting a work call, and he didn't care. I told him three times that wasn't interested in talking to him, and he continued to talk over to me. Showed up uninvited during dinner time and after the 5th "no" the person still kept talking. Lowering their price each and every time I said no. A tip, if you actually want this service keep saying no and you will get a deep discount to what the service should actually cost, not what the suckers pay. I finally had to say if it was free I'd still be saying no thank you for your time and went back inside. Some clown in a segway came out to my house at 9 pm to solicit me despite a no soliciting sign. Every time I said no to their service, he kept dropping the price. He claimed that my neighbor called him, but did not even know my neighbor's name when I asked him. read more

Two days after second "service"..... not overly impressed, clearly. We have two small dogs and I was letting them out when he was working and he was walking through our front yard and exclaimed "OH SHIT" I assumed he may have stepped in dog poop so I said "I'm sorry, did you step in dog poop?" to which he replied "ALMOST" in an incredibly loud and rude way as he stormed back to his truck. First time we had the service the guy was there for a long time and did a thorough job but this time he couldn't have been there for more than 15 minutes after that.... To top it off I had $60 under my mat from a porch pick up and ironically he was the only other person to come up to my front door and the money was missing after my service. Aptive Pest Control - Not lacking in bugs. - Pest Control Near Me - West Chicago, Illinois

Service has been decent. I had to ask for a reservice and they came right out. Four business days later (Sept. 8, 2021) $114 was taken from my account. I immediately called and they acknowledged the error and offered a credit. I refused the credit and asked for a refund. A matter of principle, I am not fond of people just reaching in my account and taking money without cause (maybe it's just me). I was told it could take up to 10 days. I was upset but I could wait. Ten days later, no money so I am once again on with customer service. It was like day 1 all over again. My account shows a credit but a request would have to be put in for a refund. I was put on hold and then told the money was in process and it would be returned in a few days. Another lie. Sept. 25, I called once again to no suprise it was like being back to day 1. My account shows a credit of $114 and that's it. Again I explained the situation and once again I was given the "read it from the sheet" bs story. I informed the rep this was not good enough. I was put on hold for 10 minutes. The customer service rep told me the supervisor has taken care of everything and the money would be back in my account Monday, Tuesday at the latest. I was further informed that they would follow up with to confirm satisfaction. Well today is Wednesday the 29th no call and of couse no money. I called, guess what...day 1 again. I don't think I have ever encountered a company so willing to lose a customer over their clerical error. I was pleased with their bug service, but this ongoing incident has made impossible to continue service with Aptive Environmental. These people came to my door and told me they can get rid of my stink bugs, so I canceled my Eco Shield pest control and decided I'd give these guys a try. The following day, they came out to do the initial treatment and the guy immediately says they DO NOT kill stink bugs. What a waste of my time. Contacted this company for service in the suburbs. Never have I seen more bugs IN my house than after we started using them. Ants, spiders etc. Every visit needed another visit. Finally after we were fed up with their service NOT keeping bugs out of the house, we canceled. They demanded a $200 cancellation fee for some "free service" at the beginning of the contract. I looked back at the records, and correlated with my credit card, and I was in fact charged for every visit. This place is shady and their service flat out doesn't work. I take the $200 as a cost for the lesson....to never use Aptive. If you are reading this, do yourself a favor and pass Aptive over. They are awful to do business with, do not care about customers, and a just plain bad at pest control. I used another company and my bug issue abated immediately. Do Not Use This Company!!! They are a rip off. I had them for one year. The techs will spray outside the home only and you'll be charged the full rate. I cancelled after a year, now they have no record of it. Then they decided to keep the service going and pretended they didn't know if cancelled. They took money to spray a house I no longer live in. No one answered that door. I told them that notify me ahead of time about a tech coming out. Their idea of notifying me is sending an email after the tech leaves and they've taken my money. He went above and beyond what's the job description was my father was exceedingly pleased and even called the company Asking for him to be his regular go to bug guy sprayer. Ever since I have been having Aptive service my house and yard, I haven't had any issues with pests...they are gone! After having some hard rains, we got some ants in the yard so I called them and they came over and took care of them at no extra charge. The technician was prompt, friendly and respectful. read more

It's all about the money. Just to get a service in they did an outdoor service in February with snow on ground. Stay away from this company.

Aptive made their rounds through my neighborhood promising excellent service at least as good as Ecoshield (which is a great company) yet for less money. After their sales pitch and first treatment, I was asked to place a 5 star review, which I did. Since signing their contract for a year (with a penalty for early withdrawal), they have provided very poor service. No calls back when there is an acute problem. After their last visit I've had centipedes, spiders, and stink bugs in my house. One needs to keep calling until a human answers (days) because you will not get a call back. This is so typical of mediocre companies. Please heed my warning and go with Ecoshield. read more

The girl was begging to sign up for one year service worth $365.00. I signed up with the intention to help. Unfortunately, i made a mistake. Very disappointed withing the very first couple of services. The first service (they claimed it free) was very quick and the spray they used was mostly watery. I highly doubt they used any kind of bug control srpay. I had to instruct the guy to make sure he does the job properly. The second service was even much faster then the first service. The guy came and did quick spray around the home foundation and inside home. He did not care to clean the corners with spider nests inside the house. He did not take care of the front & back yard. Worst company. DO NOT USE. I thought they'd be good since we have a newborn in the house. What they use is crap. I found ants crawling on the wall, gnats, flies etc. I don't fell spraying in front of my couch a plan, should have moved thing in order to get along the inside wall in my house not where we walk. My yard that was sprayed did NOTHING. Spray3ed my garage, that was the worst nothing moved just sprayed around bugs galore. I am so disgusted and I called and let them several message and still charged me a 180.00 even though I cancelled. Don't use them it does nothing!!!! Upon canceling they still took money out of my account I had to stop payment and close my account. STAY AWAY!! Call someone else! I started this service in June to get rid of ants and spiders. The sales rep was MORE than helpful to get me started -- told me it was $129 start-up fee which covered the initial spray AND the tech would come back 30 days later as a "double up." The initial appointment was to consist of spray inside problem areas & outside--outside they were to spray around the home, remove spider webs & debris and 30' out from the home. After that initial start-up visits, we'd be charged $109/quarter for them to come to spray and maintain things. The sales rep said I could cancel at ANY point, no fees/penalties. This sounded wonderful (but boy was I wrong...) The first appointment was a DISASTER. The tech was maybe here for 10 mins, didn't remove spider webs, only sprayed right around the home (not 30' out), and refused to spray inside except for right inside the doors. I decided to "stick in there" and have them come back for the 30-day follow-up. Same story. The spider webs were WORSE this time, more bugs... he didn't clean anything off the home. PLUS, I was charged $109 for his visit (not what my contract states!) I am now in the process of trying to cancel this ludacris and shitty service. I have tried emailing them, no response. I've been on the phone for 3 days for over 2 hours trying to talk to someone. I finally was able to speak with an Account rep (she sounded 15 and uneducated) and she said "she understands and she'll have to get me to the Loyalty department." I asked her why, as an Account person, she can't cancel my membership. She simply didn't have an answer and transferred me to Loyalty. I still have not been able to cancel this membership. I'm 5 mins away from reporting Aptive to the BBB. I regret ever starting this service. read more

UPDATE 10/17/18 I received an email about my "upcoming" service. I sent a cancelation email in August. Then called support and confirmed that my service was cancelled..i get an email today stating that we reviewed your account and it's not cancelled. Are you serious! What kind of scammy place is this. I'm reporting you to BBB for the most worthless service. Here's my take, order some chemicals online for $50 and then get the spider web brush from Amazon and your done. The amount of times I've had to call to get spider webs cleaned up and included pictures with arrows is beyond me. Pay me 30 and I'll spray the whole house and remove webs by using my eyes and a little common sense. Will not be renewing service. The scheduled applications are also bs as we get more no call no shows. Any person can open this type of business and do better. Don't fall for the well; you pay once and we will come back for no charge as many times as it takes. How about getting it done the first time so I don't have to keep calling about missed spots. I should charge aptive for the amount of time I spend calling and checking the "work" that was done. Bottom line, I can do this myself in half the time and be more effective. read more
