Less than one star. Not sure which Naperville Orkin this is about since the calls are route through a nationwide service. Had a extensive bird nests under an awning. Called and at first, they stated they didn't do that removal and cleaning and referred me to "Critter Control." The reason that I called Orkin since I called "Critter Control" who quoted me a price of $1900 for removal and cleaning and another $1300 for mitigation services which is excessive. Orkin agreed to a price of $350 and on 8/15 to come between 1000-1200 on 8/18. Never sent a contract. Never showed up and I texted the Orkin contract person x 2 and call voicemail x 3. Finally called the Naperville office (630-449-7236) and was told I was not on their schedule (I never signed the contract which was never sent) and I was told that the person that I was texting was not working on 8/18. I was told they could come on 8/19 but when I asked for a $50 deduction for my time of waiting for the appointment, I was told no way. Will never use Orkin nor Critter Control and I did it myself. read more

Worst service, Techs are always moody or extremely late. Had the tech tell me they don't get paid for re-treatments and he wished I waited another 2 weeks when I was do for my quarterly service. It made me feel awkward and like a big jerk, but we had an ant issue that needed to be taken care of. Gonna try Greenix, they got 5 stars on google and they matched Orkin's price! read more

I hired them and it was a waste of money. Get Terro bait traps instead. They're unresponsive, unreliable and unprofessional!

Lets see. i had an appointment window of 10-12 pm. they never showed up and never called. i guess that speaks for the company itself. At a minimum at least tell me what happened to your tech and how you will make it right. i got nothing. The only phone number i get is for a national call center so i cant even reach the local branch. moving on to Terminix i guess. i really wanted several quotes. This is for the Aurora, IL branch. can't speak about the rest. read more

Orkin set out multiple glue traps in my attic. Nothing was caught. I set out my own snap traps and caught 6mice in the next couple of days. I called the manager, he told me it was "luck" that I caught them and glue traps didnt....ok? I should go to the casino, 100% mice were caught on my snap traps...crazy "luck". I went up and checked the glue traps again. I touched them and they were not sticky. Glue traps are ineffective below 7 degree weather. We live in chicago, right? This should be known. Manager told me "wow interesting, they work in every other location, sorry they didnt work in your home". Simple google search you'll see glue is ineffective in cold temps. They did give me a refund so I will mention that. read more

Greg was terrific. He was punctual and exceptionally thorough. He went above and beyond what we expected.

The technician had no idea what he was doing. He came into our house and looked around like I was the one to start the conversation/inspection. He walked around, shined a flashlight in some corners for about 2 full seconds, and found some bugs on the floor- HE DIDNT EVEN KILL THE BUGS--HE JUST STOOD THERE????? I almost wanted to laugh. Isn't that what I hired you to do? Then he proceeded to go outside and walk around and was on his cellphone the entire time. I.e. why he came in and said we had no problem. Yeah because you barely looked. Technician was super awkward and asked me the same questions over and OVER! So happy to be with Pointe Pest Control - who realized we DO have a massive problem- who also have amazing customer service and way better prices. read more

So...I had been having issues with spiders after the dry summer. I decided to call orkin for help with the situation. I was told I would have a price of $99 first visit, then in 30 days I'd have a free follow up visit. They set up the times for all the upcoming visits throughout the one year contract. They schedule the 30 day visit about 40 days after the initial. I didn't think too much of it. Until they proceeded to charge me $111 for the "free visit" and then said it was because that visit was more than 30 days after the initial. Mind you they set up all the appointments. I tried to get help from a manager Chris who did nothing. I am so irritated with the service. I will never use them again. Also FYI...the spiders still remain...biggest waste of money ever!! read more

I had orkin out to handle those summer time ants. The technician that came out was awesome knew his product and what was needed for the ants. Shortly after his visit we did notice a decrease with the ants. However i wish i could say the same about the office staff. I called to cancel our contract with them. The woman in the office said no problem on the cancellation and she would handle it. I fullfilled my part of the obligation. With that i get a call back saying i owed them another $49, She really didn't have an explanation due to the fact i paid my start up fee and continued my payments on my cc and was alerted each month when they dinged my card. She had no explanation except it was a billing error, which i find very unprofessional , extremely disappointed with the office staff. read more

I completely regret signing up with Orkin. They were extremely attentive until I signed the contract. After that getting someone to come out or even return your call is like pulling teeth. I was told that for the next appointment don't call us we'll call you. The gentleman finally called and said he was coming out the following day. He then gave me the third degree about why i would not be available the following day. I called the company because I was not happy with how things where working out after only one visit. I was told the manager would call me... he or she never called. Had bees building a nest by my soffet. My husband has a bee allergy so I called and left a message for someone to please call me. 2 days later after hearing nothing i called again and was told someone would be out the following day. 2 days later I called again and finally someone came out and sprayed. Terrible customer service. I will go back to nagging my husband to spray the Home Defense around the house once a month instead. It costs less and is far less stressful. read more

We have a mouse problem in our home and wanted someone out to fix it ASAP. My husband suggested Orkin because he felt they would guarantee their work. No problem. Set up an appointment the next day..I left work early to accommodate the appointment and the guy had already been to my home. Early. So then I had to sit around and wait for him to come back. Anyway, he came back and walked right into my home without shoe covers. I felt it was rude tracking water and slush into my house but apparently he didn't mind. So then he wanted me to sign a contract for one year service for 600.00 which included spraying for spiders and removing rats. We have a mouse problem so I said no, I don't need that. I also didn't want Orkin coming back for a year. I called my husband and he said it sounded shady too. I asked the Orkin man to please leave. He left his phone number and almost walked out without his equipment. The situation was uncomfortable to say the least. I decided to pull up Orkin online and check reviews. Turns out there's an entire site devoted to customer complaints about this company. They truly take advantage of people in dire straits and I find that loathsome. read more

Save your money and go elsewhere! I have just ended a 5+ year relationship with Orkin of Aurora and wondering what took me so long. Had to call them out last week due to an infestation of stink bugs, even though my bi-monthly service call was just the week prior. Set up for between 1-3pm. They called me at 250pm to cancel due to rain - which it had been doing since 7am. Rescheduled for this week and a new tech because according to the customer service rep, my regular rep had been fired for unethical practices. How comforting is that to hear? New rep came at scheduled time and addressed inside of house fine. He sprayed the outside, I signed the bill and he left. Went upstairs a few hours later and it looked like someone sprayed a garden hose with dirt all over my windows, even the OPEN windows. I had this stuff all over my furniture, and my windows look awful. I called Orkin and told the manager, Jim, what had happened. Also that I had just had my windows cleaned for the winter the week prior and they are ruined. His reply was oh well, sorry. I told him I wanted to end my service contract and he said ok. Really? What kind of customer service is this? I spent the rest of the day cleaning their mess! Now, 2 days later it is pouring rain and this stuff is still everywhere - my windows, siding and brick paver patio! Very disappointed and will tell everyone looking for pest control! read more

I have used this company for 2 years. They do respond to my phone calls, but sometimes I have to call several times. The current young man who services my area (Joshua) is polite, dependable and knowledgeable. I myself cannot handle everything myself, so I do rely on this company for all my pest control needs. BTW, be wary of pest companies that come to your door offering cheap prices for (supposedly) more services. They neglect to tell you there is a $200 cancellation fee should you decide you don't like their services. I will stay w/Orkin!!!! read more
