I had a good relationship with Chemwise for years, with mice and some other pest problems. We had the three times a year treatment deal just for the basement and the ground level exterior of the house to control crawling bugs. For the spring treatment, they sent someone who had never serviced us before. He sprayed wet TERMIDOR SC pesticide all over the porch. I raise monarchs on my porch - that did not happen this year because all my cats died. This makes me so sick and sad. So my review is Chemwise is good when you have an infestation of pests such as mice; their treatments will help. But do not ever get any outside treatment from them if you care about pollinators like monarchs. I thought their treatments were gentle. I don't know what I was thinking ....... read more

Chem-wise has been spraying my house for years. For the last few years I have had an issue with sewer flies. They could never locate them. Finally last year I did find the location of them. Chem-wise still can't treat or kill them. They have been back multiples after I found the location and they never resolve the issue. So I had the come back last week to retreat for the flies and they did a service ok top of that without asking or if was ok with me. Again this treatment was never told it was going to happen nor did I approve of it. I called the office and all they said was "well we treated your property". Well I didn't approve of the service and I am not sure if want to keep them since they can't resolve the issue. So be careful of them just showing up to your house and treating it without your permission. They don't care and just want your money. read more

We have had Chemwise for almost 20 years as our outdoor pest management specialists with the tri-annual service. Every technician they have ever sent has been courteous and professional. And with their preventative maintenance around the perimeter, we have never had pests inside our house. We recently called them about a potential vole issue. Their technician, Jimmy, came out this morning. It's an all out war! And given it's a war, you want the best team on your side and Chem-Wise is just that team! Say good bye to those little buggers that should have stayed outside to begin with! Now granted, any pest control company usually can get rid of what ever you have an issue with (in my case it was ants and spiders) but when you have pets and people who live in your house, you want to make sure that the products used only deter the littlest creatures from wanting to live in your house. Called and spoke to a really friendly woman who I explained the issue to and she even steered me away from requesting the removal service since I didn't actually know what the problem was, just that I was seeing what looked like some sort of pest droppings. She had actually recommended their free inspection. Great! At this point I'm thinking I actually found a quality business that will do a good job. She told me they would need to turn the business over to a more local facility and that I would be getting a call back from this more local facility by the next day... That was 2 weeks ago without a call. Could I call them back? Sure, but I shouldn't have to, I'll just give my business to another provider that actually knows how to follow through... after all, if I can't get them to follow through on a phone call, how can I really expect them to follow through on pest removal? Although we had been pleased with the services provided by Chem-Wise in past years, we no longer are. After our recent experience, we will no longer hire their pest management services due to their unsatisfactory work, ineffective communication and lack of respect. To make matters worse was their response to our concerns by placing the onus on us the customers and by denying any culpability on their part. In past years, we were always given a call from the company to schedule an appointment at our convenience. They were to not only check several mouse traps in our garage but also to spray the entire perimeter of our residence. Prior to their scheduled appointment, we would always remove our bird feeders to avoid any chance of contamination. This time, they just showed up without any prior notice at all! Though the manager indicated that they had just sent out an email, he admitted that it had been sent to an incorrect address! Moreover, not only did the technician never check the mousetraps in the garage (which he was supposed to have done) but he also sprayed chemicals too close to the bird feeders. Companies that are customer-centric are far more successful at building brand loyalty than those who are not. It is as much a strategy as a culture of doing business that creates the best experience for the customer. Commitments are met, and so therefore, customers feel valued. Getting to know your customers and what they want and need is imperative. Although mistakes do happen, there's always a lesson to be learned. What is more, there are methods to be used for dealing with a faux pas--specifically, Acknowledging, Apologizing and Addressing the mistake. By putting customers first, it is always in their best interests to be treated with integrity, respect and empathy. read more

We noticed pinholes in our hardwood flooring so we requested a free inspection to determine if insects were causing the problem. Davis Garrison came out and did a very comprehensive, detailed inspection of our flooring. He determined that the cause was not insects, and he gave us very helpful suggestions on what to do about the pinholes. He was very pleasant and polite and very respectful of our home. Whenever few times there have been any issues they have promptly and thoroughly responded to our complete satisfaction. Today however may have exceeded all expectations with David on a rogue mouse call. After showing him the room where the mouse was seen last night, right on cue the mouse ran between us. After moving some things around, David cornered the mouse and using one of my many take out containers he caught him by the tail and secured him. No old fashioned mouse traps or glue traps needed. I had noticed some yellow jackets flying around the bushes in the front of our house, and we also found a few indoors by the kitchen windows, also in the front of the house, so I suspected that they got in when the front door was opened. WRONG! My lovely wife went down to our basement this morning to get a sweater from a spare closet and came running back up with the news that we had yellow jackets in our sump room, which happens to be right in the front of our house. Yikes! A quick service search on Yelp brought up a few local exterminators and Chem-Wise called back in less than an hour and said they could come out this afternoon. Al, the technician, called on his way and said he would be a little earlier than scheduled. When he got here, I led him downstairs and it took him all of five minutes to locate the nest. Thirty minutes later, the bees be gone. Al removed the nest, vacuumed up the dead yellow jackets AND sprayed some powder outside where we had seen the bees entering. Great, quick service. We used Chem-Wise for 15 plus years and always mentioned to the tech when he was out for treatment about the carpenter ants we continually see outside. The response was always the same, the treatment will take care of them and they are usually on the move. On the move was Right. Destroying a wall in our garage which completely had to be rebuilt from the sill plate up. Once the wall was opened up, it was discovered that there were 4 active nests. That kind of damage does not happen overnight and most likely happened over a few years which they were well aware of the carpenter ants. So needless to say, Chem-Wise really didn't know what to say nor did they offer any resolution to the damage that occurred or any reimbursement for the reconstruction of a destroyed wall due to the failure of their service and treatments that are more a less useless. They should change the name to Scam-Wise. You can receive better results and better pricing by others. Highly disappointed and will never recommend Chem-Wise to anyone. If I could give them a negative star rating, I would. But unfortunately 1 Star is the lowest I could select... read more

We currently use Aptive and they WOULD NOT come to our house for this! I called Chem-wise based on recommendations from local Moms groups. We've been using these guys for just about a year now, and I can't believe it took me so long to sign on with an exterminator who just comes regularly and sprays. I've always just been used to having spiders hiding in my basement, a few random ants wandering around in my kitchen, and typically always bought the various pest control solutions they sell at the store (like those dumb little plastic things ants are allegedly supposed to walk through, never saw an ant go near one in my entire life). Anyway, they do a tri-annual service, and will come back to re-spray whenever you see other bugs. Following the initial application this spring, we had them come back twice more inside of the next few weeks as it seemed like they sprayed along the foundation of our house outside, which just made the spiders decide to move up around our windows. They sprayed the sides of the house, and once again the spiders moved up to the eaves. The thing time they just went absolutely nuts spraying everywhere. Once you get over this initial hump, you just don't see bugs anymore. They've come back to do their routine spraying since, but I was just thinking yesterday how I haven't seen a single crawling insect near my house in months. (Which is what prompted me to write this review.) Everyone with the company is super friendly, and I've had such a great experience with their pest control that I think I'm going to sign up for their lawn fertilization treatment next year. read more

We currently use Chemwise for our yard maintenance. Jimmy is always prompt and makes sure that he takes care of any issues we are having in the yard. For example, we had a large patch of crabgrass going by our driveway. My husband used Round-up, but it killed all the grass. We replaced the soil, but the crabgrass came back. I am not sure what Jimmy used, but it killed the crabgrass and our new grass is growing in. We also use Chemwise for our pest control. I've been a customer of Chem-Wise for a little over a year after a friend referred me when I found ants in our kitchen and had a meltdown. I detest any kind of bugs but this was the worst because of having them in our pantry and kitchen! Chem-Wise sent out Jim. I can't say enough great things about Jim. Any issue I've had he's come and even fits us in when he has a packed schedule. He's a wonderful guy. Great to talk to and above all else - fixes the issues we have! No ants!!! At one point I feel like I had them coming every week (for other issues; wasps, stink bugs, spiders, beetles, & after finding mice in the basement & garage - the joys of a new (to us) home). Jim was and still is great. He wears booties over his shoes when walking around (which is some of you know, shoes in the house are a pet peeve of mine!). I'm happy with everything with Chem-Wise. The service, the price (one quarterly fee - and they come out as many times as you need!!), and the overall attentiveness of Jim. He never makes me feel like a bother (even though my husband tells me to live with the pests and stop calling to have Jim come out). Each year my baby ant problem seems to just get worse and worse. This year was enough. I called ChemWise, spoke with Miranda who was just a JOY! I told her my "ants are marching" and I needed HELP. She answered all my questions and had me set up super quickly with an appointment within a couple days. James came out and was super great. He explained everything he as doing before he did it and was great with my kids. A month or so later I seen some more ants, called and james came out again very quickly with the same great service.
