If I could give Aptive 0 stars I would. They are a very bad company to work with. They made me sign a 24 month contract. After they placed rat poison in my house, they were unreachable when I suspected my oet had eaten it. They had no clue who had performed the pest control service. They said their regional manager would call me and let me know what kind of poison was used. I never got a call from anyone about the poison situation. They called me multiple times about pending payments. When I said I would pay for the service I received and cancel, they put a 199 dollar cancellation fees on top. They were very difficult to talk to. The agent said I had an email about what poison was placed in my house. She asked for a screenshot of my mailbox. When I provided all those details, they still charged me 199 for cancellation. read more

I mean, they will schedule an appointment for you and send a technician to your house completely unannounced and unneeded at 8am...and every other week for months after that but absolutely never on your terms or when you actually need service. Don't worry though, they will definitely still send you 8 emails a month so you can refer a friend to their stellar company...and you'll still have pests in your house as well so all this hassle is for absolutely nothing at all! You can definitely tell their customer service people deal with angry customers all day because they are absolutely numb and indifferent to it. I have been with aptive since 2013 and so far they have been pretty good, although, I have noticed their prices increasing which isn't much of a big deal. Also, here lately, I believe they have changed representatives because they are not as knowledgeable as before, specifically, I was trying to use the refer a Friend feature and sign my mom up and I couldn't believe no one knew how to tell me what to do. The rep was nonchalant by stating, oh well, is there anything else I can help you with? I couldn't believe they didn't want new customers, she wouldn't even give me a supervisor when asked. Sales rep Jacob came to my house and was very professional and polite. He explained everything and it sounded like a good deal. They were willing to match what I was already paying. And they gave me a discount on the first treatment (as other yelpers pointed out), with the stipulation of paying a penalty if I canceled. Went ahead and signed an agreement. There were some technical issues, though, and I never got my contract or agreement via email. This seemed fishy, so I reached out to customer service to ask what was up and asked if this was a legit operation (rightfully so since I never got any confirmation of what I bought). Well, I guess they didn't like that because the attitude that followed, from them, was pretty awful and condescending. I also mentioned that the scheduled treatment time was too late (they wanted to come between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM). The customer service agent might as well said I was an idiot and commented that "I was strange to think it was too late and what is the big deal". Ok dude...I was just planning to reschedule but cool. After a few more rude remarks from them, I had enough. I demanded they cancel my service and they were decent enough to terminate my contract for free. Sucks because their attitude essentially screwed over their sales guy. Don't recommend. The operation is ran like a second-hand consignment shop located in the seventh plane of Hades itself. The customer service, if we can even effectively refer to it as such, is nonexistent and the techs are largely clueless, disaffected, malcontent, and trying to get upper management to address issues is something that the support associate has to waste time and "schedule."" If you have a persistent problem or issue, addressing the situation is not Aptive's strong suit, and it becomes readily apparent that they are a sham of an outfit that has no strong suit to speak of period. It is deplorable how poorly the ship is ran at Aptive and to think, I left one provider thinking they were lesser equipped but Aptive proved to me beyond of shadow of a doubt that they are the worst pest control service in the region. We got them from a door to door salesman a few years back. We constantly had bugs and we would call and ask them to respray. Last service, the next day my kids went out and got bit by bugs. We called to cancel due to mosquitoes constantly and were told by the account manager we were never sprayed because that wasn't in our package (even though they came and resprayed for them multiple times). We got another call after we cancelled telling us another story than the first representative. Not worth the money. Make sure you ask about their yearly increase. read more

Summary: Watch out for their year-long contract hustle! Yesterday, we received a visitor wearing a blue polo shirt going door-to-door in our neighborhood. He was a representative from Aptive, named Taylor. He told us about their the pest control services, which we were interested in. When asked, Taylor was unable to provide us even a business card or flyer. So, we told him we would agree to only an initial appointment to see how things go. Taylor tried to get us to pay in advance, which we declined--wisely. He rushed me to get a signature and there was little notice of what I was signing. As it turned out, what we signed for that initial appointment was a year-long contract with multiple payments. If I had not gone back to the document that was emailed to me, I would not have realized this. ​ While the guy seemed nice, we didn't appreciate the dishonest hustling. It was lacking integrity, candor, and transparency. We don't like feeling cheated. For these reasons, we will never be doing business with Aptive, ever. When I went to cancel the Service Agreement, I saw that they made it near impossible to do so. It took me fifteen minutes or more to download the PDF, fill out the contract's Notice of Cancellation, execute it, and email it to them as an attachment. The cancellation signature/date fields were non-editable, which required me to use some tools--for other people, I recommend just printing it out. This ploy to lock people into year-long contracts is a really shady business practice. read more

I am very disappointed with the service so far. The guy that came door to door talked me into trying out the service to compare it to the other company I was using. He offered me a free service but said not to cancel right away or they would have to charge me for a service (due to loss of product) so I stuck it out for 2 services. The first service the guy didn't come in the house to do anything. I told him I have ants really bad in certain areas but he said just treating the outside would get them. Second service they texted the day prior to coming. Supposedly they treat spiders but there was a big spider living in my window (ground floor) right after the service. He stayed there happily for a few weeks too. So I received a text today they are coming out tomorrow to treat my house. I have not seen any improvement in my ant population and that spider is still living in my window, so the treatments haven't been working. I called customer service who said I signed the contract for a year. I told them that their rep told me I could cancel anytime and that the contract was just to prevent me from cancelling after the free service. She informed me that was not the case and i have 3 more treatments before I can cancel or I will be charged $229 service fee. So the point of the story: the reps that are going door to door lie to get you to sign and the woman did not sound surprised at all that one of their reps lied. read more

I guess I'm the fool for hiring this company. Company has typical business model, solicit business with professional sales representatives who talk a great game. Unfortunately, In my Opinion, deceptive sales tactics are employed, outright misrepresentations on frequency of service, how your account will be billed, and again, In my opinion, complete lack of performance. I will admit, they are very good at billing, charging, bumping up charges, altering billing cycles to meet their local performance objectives, again my opinion by reviewing my billing. Think about this, during a recent service appointment, the technician was on my property for literally 6 minutes and 20 seconds. 4 minutes 15 seconds in his vehicle 20 seconds to knock on my door, acknowledge his presence and return to his truck 45 seconds to strap on backpack 38 seconds to fast walk spray my shrubs 15 seconds to take off backpack and put back in truck 7 seconds to take a picture of the house and leave Price for this service $69 I have now been billed for $199 because evidently I received their initial treatment at 50% off, PROVIDED YOU STAY A WHOLE YEAR! Ok, I'll pay it. I will also make it my mission to educate every person I come into contact with of my experience and opinion. Fortunately, I have the opportunity to lecture across the country and Adaptive has just provided an additional example to include in my curriculum. WARNING: This company is GROSSLY OVERPRICED in my opinion. Do your research, (again everything stated is my opinion from my own experience and now supplemented with research) Why pay monthly when a large percentage of companies do pest control quarterly (at lower rates ) and still service in between if a problem comes up. Don't spend money spraying for mosquitos in the dead of winter, another money making scam in my opinion. By law you can cancel a product or service within 3 days, which Aptive states in their contract. When canceling with Aptive, you have to click on the web based contract and sign the cancellation form. You have to print out the form, because it is non-fillable, sign with pen and ink and either scan or take a picture using your phone and email to the address shown. Well the print function for their contract has been disabled and if you try to print from your browser menu you will only receive page 1 which is not the cancellation form so you will not be able to cancel the service in time. Aptive product KILLED MY DOG, by baby is dead because of these bastards. I wa as told product not dangerous to pets even if the dog eats weeds, just need to wait an hour after spraying. I called customer service and they said it's the least toxic of all the pesticides. Least toxic does NOT equal not dangerous. My baby started coughing shortly after the first spray, both my dogs wouldn't eat and had diarrhea. My sharpei was not recovering as my springer spaniel and if you know about sharpei the way the environment reacts to their over production of HA will morpheus a health condition. The condition was cancer that the vet said has been there for 6 to 8 weeks, which was the timeframe of Aptive service. read more

I worked for this company for two years. Last year, it was ranted and raved to join a department that the company was streamlining towards. I applied and did not get the job the first time. I was offered another interview and I got the job. The position never panned out to be what it was told to be but it was supposed to be a good move. However, since moving to this position I endured a major pay cut, odd occurrences with no regard for human life nor decency, to just about 2 hours ago unemployed. It's heart wrenching because I asked constantly for about a month if something drastic was going to happen and would I at least still be employed, I was told from the director to my manager that there was nothing to worry about and I would be made aware if anything changed. Just as dreaded, a mandatory meeting was called, started late where we was thanked for our patience, to ending with being told we were without a job within a matter of 5 minutes. Meeting ended access to all platforms denied and that is the end of a two year stint with no offer to another position, no warning, no time to plan anything with the current state of the world. Initial service started off OK until October when a appointment was set up automatically. I did not approve or confirm this appointment as NO ONE is home!!! Tech shows up, husband talks through our Ring doorbell system. Tells the tech "no one home, we don't want the service" Tech lies and notes on my account that he "sprayed extensively inside & outside" Aptive charged my card $119 for a service that never happened!! I have been fighting for a refund every since 11/8 I have been getting a runaround by Aptive! First I'm told check in the mail, then I'm told the charge was reversed, then when I call back to confirm check was indeed sent I'm told no. My bank has verified to refund or credit has ever been issued. I have since submitted a claim for a fraudulent charge with PNC. Meanwhile Aptive is still playing games with me about my refund. I had and continue to have an absolutely terrible experience with this company. They were unable to get rid of any of my pests. I was told by the tech that there was nothing they could do about my rat problem. I ended up calling another company that got rid of the issue in only one service. The nightmare continued with Aptive even after I had moved to another pest control company. Every time I spoke to customer service I was told a different thing. First I was told I had only one more service to pay for, then it was several, then I needed to pay a disconnect fee. Then I was told my account was frozen and I didn't need to do anything. I've been using Aptive service for several months and am pleased so far. Today, Nico came to my home. He accidentally hit an outdoor lamp with his long-handled sweeping tool. I haven't checked the lamp yet to see if it is functioning; I'll get to that later. But what impressed me so much is that Nico immediately came to the front door, explained what happened and asked if he could borrow a ladder or step stool to try to fix the fixture. He was clearly upset and apologized. I opened the garage door and told him to help himself, but I couldn't go out to help, because I was with a client. He came back to the door later to say that he had tried to fix the lamp, but the bulb wouldn't screw all the way into the socket. He wanted me to try the switch, but I actually don't know where the switch is, so I assured him it would be all right and not to worry. I felt badly for him because he apologized several times and said he had called his manager right away to explain what had happened. OK--so this is not exactly 5-star service. But if the lamp happens to be broken, the remedy is to buy another one. It wasn't expensive. What I really appreciate is Nico's character. He owned the problem, reported it to his manager and tried to the best of his ability to make it right--actions we rarely see nowadays. Nico, I don't care about the lamp nearly as much as I care about the fact that you are a man of integrity. Thank you. read more

It had been oaky with their service for couple years, but it came out really bad. I need to cancel service due to moving out. I called and called almost 15 times to cancel and left messages 17times including a chatting option on their website for last 3 weeks (never directly connected with a real person on the billing department). they never called back or left messages for me. I advise not going with Aptive. But if you decide to, get a physical copy of the contract while speaking with the salesperson, ask the salesperson to waive the cancellation penalty and do yourself a favor by opting-out of the arbitration clause! Aptive makes one sign up for a year of treatment in advance. The salesperson told me I could "cancel anytime". After multiple treatments were ineffective, I tried to cancel the remaining treatments. But the actual contract makes it expensive to cancel and/or to arbitrate a dispute. While each quarterly treatment costs around $114, to cancel one must pay $230 (the "discount" you receive on the first treatment aka the salesperson's leverage to get you to sign quickly). The contract includes an arbitration clause if you have a dispute with Aptive, but you must pay the cost of arbitration which is $200. It is a frustrating choice for future quarterly treatments which won't be effective or to pay a significant penalty to cancel. Of course I have some fault here, I should have insisted on a paper copy of the contract from the salesperson. I didn't receive a copy of agreement until I tried to cancel. At the same, it's obvious their sales method is to comfort you by saying you can "cancel anytime", without bringing attention to the fact it costs $230 to cancel! read more

DO NOT USE!!! I signed up through a young, slick door-to-door sales guy who seemed to really know his stuff. He talked about how Aptive uses environmentally-friendly solutions because the owner's child suffered some type of incident due to a pest control company using toxic chemicals. He also talked about how Aptive's prices beat the competitor's, how their products are designed to act as a type of "bomb" to be pests because they'll take it back to their nests and then infect the whole colony, and how they have great customer service and yada yada... anyway, I fell for the trap! They came by for the initial treatment and that seemed okay. They warned us that there might be more bugs in the short-term, but they should disappear long-term. That assessment seemed on-point. However, a few months later... I noticed that there were a ton of stink bugs in my house. I called Aptive to get rid of them for me. The lady scheduled me for Wednesday, 9/27/17. We waited for the guy to come, then sometime in the evening, around or so, I get a text saying that the tech can't make it due to some emergency, so please call back to reschedule. I did that, and I rescheduled for 10/4/17. We wait in our house all day long, no one came by. However, I got an email from them asking me to rate them on their service! What!? Service for what?? No one even came by, are you serious?? So, I call back to reschedule again, this time for 10/12/17. Just FYI, they almost always schedule something a week or so later, very rarely the same day or the next couple of days. Anyway, Thursday rolls around, and NOTHING!! No one comes by! I call back today, 10/13/17, to complain about it. They say that someone did come by yesterday. I'm telling the lady, I was home all day, I'd know if someone came by - unless this guy was like a ninja pest controller who could turbo-treat my house in under 5 minutes without anyone detecting him. Oh yeah, of course I also get another email asking me to rate his service... I have rescheduled again for next week, if no one comes by, or if it's not satisfactory, I'm going to have to cancel. I signed up for this service when we moved into our new home. We had a service in Nashville for many years and they were great. They are a local firm so I had to find a new one. The representative who came out for the quote told me it would be $179 4-5 times/year. After 3 months of paying $179, I saw the calendar on my account which shows monthly visits and the $179 charge. I saw no improvement in the bugs. i did have to call for a wasp problem inside the house and the person told me they couldn't go into the attic. When I called to cancel the contract, they charged me $199 which I paid to get rid of them. I do NOT recommend aptive. read more

I am not a customer of them, but never will be based on the over aggressive salesperson who goes door to door on his hover board. The first time he 'rolled' in my drive way while my wife was in the car and trying to back out of the driveway. He attempted to prevent her from leaving with his 1000 questions on our commoditized pest control service (what magical chemical or process could they possible use over anyone else?). The next day he 'rolled' up again and then beat on the window next to my front door (then proceeds to lean on my house). My 70lb dog greeted him first, followed by me. I started by politely saying 'no thank you' and 'we are not interested' (I never purchase anything from solicitors). He then tells me that my wife told him to come back (not true) and I began to get agitated that he isn't leaving after I had already told him no. Meanwhile, my dog is trying to rip through the small opening in the door and he then begins to turn his 'a-hole' knob up and tells me that I am not a good pet owner for trapping my dogs head in the door. I had it at this point and closed the door on him. He then stayed outside my door for another minute still talking loudly for me to hear him through my front door. Shady sales tactics and super annoying salesperson. There are plenty of other companies out there that can provide the same service without this annoying ingredient. read more

After two more rounds of "we'll be in your neighborhood, and can we fit you in", I told him I don't buy services from people that come to the door without my initiating a call, and I like to research the company on sites such as Angie's List and Yelp... he still persisted. After about 6 rounds, I finally told him he had passed the patience threshold - I get asking twice, maybe even a third time, but much more than that becomes annoying and disrespectful. When he finally realized he wasn't going to sell me anything, he turned in a huff, and as he walked way, flipped the bird while saying "have fun paying more"...
